    They don’t want to give out long term deals to older players. They simply won’t be in the market for upper tier FAs unless there is a huge organizational philosophy change.

    They will more likely use their minor league players to build trades for cheaper guys under contract, like what happened with Crochet.

    The days of us signing big free agents are long gone. Reminds me of the old days like when we would sign players like Andre Dawson well after their peak but act like it was a great deal. I feel young again!
