Ed Belfour just up and left a game…
in Boston. We were playing and and Ed wasn’t playing. So, he was back up to Marty. So, we’re we’re at the pregame skate. Hits wanted to tell he told Eddie earlier in the morning. So, so then he was asking to see where Eddie was. We were like, “Well, he’s he’s not here. He was on the bus.” And so, we we can’t find him. The day moves on. We have our naps. Wake up, get to the rink. Still no Eddie. We’re like, “What happened?” You know? So Eddie had a guy in Dallas that kind of helped him organize his schedule. He went by Buddy. So we someone finally get Buddy on the phone. They’re like, “Where’s Eddie?” Well, he’s he’s here at the house. When he knew he wasn’t playing, he just got on a plane and flew home to Dallas and just kind of waited for us there. He wasn’t going to dress if he wasn’t going to play, I guess. Nevertheless, he was angry he wasn’t starting in Boston, so he was like, I’m I’m going to I’m going to go home. And that’s part of me. I’m like, you know, oh.
Ed Belfour was the ultimate wildcard — and this story proves it. 😂
When he found out he wasn’t starting, Belfour didn’t just sit out… he literally left the team, flew home, and waited. One of the most legendary goalie stories you’ll ever hear. 🔥 More unbelievable NHL tales on the channel.

Belfour was a true character. One of the more outstanding personalities in the game.
One of my favourites
