Review of Avalanche vs Rangers, Blue Jackets vs Panthers
Welcome back. All right, first of two reviews today in the National Hockey League. Uh the matinea games being done, Colorado Rangers and Columbus and Florida. All right, so we’re going to go ahead and we’ll jump right in. And of course, we will not be discussing the standings until after tonight’s video. Uh but let’s go ahead and talk about Colorado and the Rangers. So it’s Blackwood versus Sharken. Uh Natas has a rush chance that saved. The shots were 3 to1 Colorado 3 minutes in. Uh Burns has a rush chance that’s kicked aside. The Rangers press at 4 minutes. Lava has a net feed that gets caught and held by Blackwood. Uh Radish couldn’t bury one in close as the Rangers get some pressure. Things get pushy on a hold by Blackwood. We get a power play for the Rangers. There was a post for Paneran. There was also a post for Kulie during that same cycle game by the Rangers. However, uh the Avalanche do kill that off. And the shots are 10 to five Rangers with 9 and 1/2 minutes left. So, this was a game of wild momentum swings. Not necessarily as wild as what went on over here, but we’ll discuss that. Uh the ABS press with 5 minutes left. The shots are evening up as the momentum was shifting. Uh Nas is denied on a fast break. We get chance for Chesterkin and uh it is scoreless after the first period. Second period, McKinnon has a rush chance that’s held. The Rangers press at 2 minutes. The ABS draw a power play. There are back-to-back short-handed rushes by the Rangers during that. That power play is killed off. Shots are 5-2 Colorado at 6 minutes. Uh the ABS press at 6 and 1/2 minutes. Molinsky gets denied. And then at 7:06, it’s a point shot tipped in by Parker Kelly. The assist to Molinsky and Nas. Colorado opens the scoring and they’re 13-1 and three coming into today when they score first. But if they don’t score first, they still have an excellent record. They just it’s Colorado. Um there’s a press by the ABS with 9 minutes left. McKinnon’s denied as the ABS are taking control of the game. The shots are 11 to3 for Colorado with 8 and 1/2 minutes left. Uh Lafrrener then fires one wide as the Rangers get some pressure at the other end. The teams trade turnovers. Game gets a little bit sloppy. The Rangers press with three and a half minutes left, but they’re kept to the outside during that. Macar is a one-timer that’s kicked aside. The Rangers press in the final minute. It’s one- nothing Colorado after two. Third period, uh there’s an early press by the Rangers. McKinnon has a net feed on a rush that gets picked off. Uh Colorado pressures at 2 and 1/2 minutes, but the Rangers would tie it at 423. Connor Sherry gets his first of the season and his first as a Ranger. Uh he goes gloveside via what was an end to end rush by the Rangers. Troche and Miller with the assists. So you have a 1-1 tie. Uh the Rangers then press for the lead. However, the ABS would end up drawing themselves a power play. Um a puck nearly hits Mar in the eyes. His visor protected them. That’s what the visor is for. So yeah, the guys who who who tilt their visor back so their eyes are vulnerable to the puck. No. No. No idea. I got no idea why why why you do that. Uh at any rate, the the Rangers do then finish killing off the penalty. Uh pucks the uh the a the ABS then clear it after it’s done. Um no, the Rangers clear it after it’s done. The ABS press at 8 minutes. The Rangers block. The Rangers get a power play with 9 minutes and 40 seconds left. Not only is that killed off, there were no shots during that and Ranger fans uh being kind of vocal, booing that. Uh scoring at home has been a problem for the Rangers. We know this and you can just sense the frustration with Ranger fans is always just beneath the surface during these games. Um shots are 10 to3 Colorado with 5 1/2 minutes left and then at 1426 they get the lead. Uh McKinnon bats in a rebound from the side of the net and just burns with the assists. There was some booing that I I think the booing was because fans thought this might have been a high stick. A I’m pretty sure this was reviewed by Toronto and they said not a high stick. and B, let’s just say you’re the Rangers. You’re down 2 to1 against the Avalanche, and you think maybe it’s kind of a judgment call. Do you really want to challenge that and be short-handed against them with 4 minutes and 34 seconds left? The answer to that question is no. Uh, the ABS score again, the Rangers protest. It’s reviewed and they didn’t score. The puck actually did not cross the line in that instance. Uh, so the ABS look to score again. Mars is a net drive chance that’s held. The goalie pull happens with 210 left. The ABS guilty of an icing with 104 left. And at 1919, the Rangers get the tying goal. Paneran with one timer pass to screens Aanagad and Lafrener with the assists. And I have to say the Cavaliere way that teams are icing the puck repeatedly is leading to six on five goals. It’s just this is exactly why, you know, not that many years ago coaches would get mad at guys for icing the puck during the six on five. And I’m wondering if if coaches are going to get kind of kind of snippy about it. So we go to extra time. The ABS control early. The Rangers take over. They set up. However, Colorado would get the puck back and at 246, McKinnon goes top shelf with a backhand from the slot. Mar and Nas with the assists. Colorado wins this one 3-2 in overtime. So, your three stars in this one, McKinnon, Shusterkin, and Blackwood. Shots on net, 10-9 Rangers in the first, 13-8 Colorado in the second, 18 to8 Colorado in the third, and they get the only shot of overtime. Final shots 41 to 26 for Colorado. Both teams go 0 for two on the power play. The hits 32 to 21 for the Rangers. Blackwood saves 24 out of 26. Shusten saves 38 out of 41. All right, now let’s go to the game where all the goals reside. Uh it was Columbus versus Florida. It was MS Leakans versus Babrowski. And neither of these goalenders had a particularly stellar game today. Uh so it’s Lucinan back in the lineup for Florida. You can see that definitely helped their attack. Uh the teams trade early rushes and turnovers. Lindstrom has a shot that’s held during some pressure by Columbus. In fact, three and a half minutes in, Columbus has three of the first four shots on net. Uh the Panthers press at five and a half minutes. They’re kept to the outside. We then get a power play for Columbus and they score on it. Uh Severson tips a point shot in with two seconds left of the penalty. So it’s a power play goal at 740. Prover and Cylinger with the assists. Uh Chinov has a rush chances kicked aside. And then at 947 on a turnover, Rodriguez buries one from the doorstep to tie the game at one. The assist to Samus Gavich. Uh the Panthers then look for the lead. Bolinskus has a wristster that’s held. We get some pushing after that. Uh cylinder cylinger to machuk twoon-one chance gets blocked by Florida. Uh shots are 8 to5. Columbus with 8 minutes left. Columbus with some pressure with 6 and 1/2 minutes left. Gaunt scores. It’s ruled that he kicked it in. It wasn’t intentionally kicked in. I don’t think I don’t think he actually saw it at his feet when he kicked it in, but it was off the instep. It was a kicking motion. It’s a kick. Uh Gaunt protested and Ev was not happy most of the day. And this is where it starts. Uh Jones has a rush chance. That’s caught and held. That’s 1-1. That’s your score after the first second period. Uh 526 in Veronov tips a point shot top shelf. Proverb and Morinsky with the assists. So here’s full transparency. So because I did that second video today where I talked about all 32 teams, uh it it over overlapped with the start of the second period for this game. Uh one thing that I’ve changed this year is that uh I don’t have to watch every single minute of every game on a Saturday because really doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for me to do that. And as soon as I went back to the game, the scoring started. So Columbus gets this goal as I go back to watching the hockey and I was done the other video. So it was the second shot by Columbus in like about 16 minutes of action. So Florida was dominant and yet Columbus makes it two to1. And then at 557, Wood goes five hole in alone via twoon-one rush. Uh goals on backto-back shots. Coyle and Nolindustrom with the assists. And once again, neither goalender I thought had a stellar day today. Uh Ken Johnson then has a slot shot that’s kicked aside. The crowd’s really quiet at this point. Florida crowds can can be very excessively loud and excessively quiet during the same game as we saw today. Panthers press at 9 and a half minutes. Everything’s pushy at 9 minutes and 43 seconds. The shots are 6 to4 Columbus at the half and at 10:24. It’s a backhand top shelf from the slot by Carell the Thrill. Marchenko with the goal from Fantellian Veronov. Wild fans like it’s not Carell the thrill, it’s Capri off Carill. Uh Marshon’s then denied via two-on-run rush and then the Panthers score. It’s challenged for a missed game stoppage. Doesn’t come off the board. Ever’s not happy again. So Vhaggy gets the goal from Jones and Marshon at 11:15. And this means that they go to the power play. And sure enough, at 1310, just before this power play is done, they score. It’s a chip shot from in close forgi with his second goal in a row. Marshon and Bennett with the assists. and suddenly have yourself a 4 to3 score in favor of Columbus. Um Panthers go back to the power play after some pressure by Columbus and the Panthers would score again on set power play. Uh it’s a point shot pass to screen by Seth Jones at 1612. Reinhardt and Bennett with the assists. We have ourselves a 4-4 tie. Uh the Panthers press with 2 and 1/2 minutes left, but at 1826, Cylinger puts one in off Forsling Skate. The assist to Johnson and Mate gives Columbus the lead back at five to four. And that’s your score after two periods of play. In the third, Bennett’s denied on a rebound off the rush. And then at 227 on a twoon-one rush, Lundustrom scores uh the assist to Wood and Smith. So Columbus with a twogoal lead at 6 to4. However, at 407, Marshon goes around MS Leakans on a net drive. The assist to Bennett and Verhagy cuts the lead down to one. And with the way the goalending was today, no lead’s really and truly safe. Uh, and I put right here, neither goalie has been their best today. Panthers draw a power play, that’s killed off. Columbus, then they draw a power play, that’s killed off as well. Uh, Lundell with a delayed game call at 759 left. That gets killed off as well. And not long after he gets out of the box at 1417, Lindell catches Merly Mleakens completely out of the net. Mleakans come out to play the puck. Didn’t go well. Uh Lindell gets it into the net before he gets back into position. The assist to Lucarin and Reinhardt with 259 left. Florida gets a power play that’s killed off as well. We’re going to overtime. Uh Columbus came into this two and four in overtime. Florida committed this 0 and1 in overtime. So a lot more experience for Columbus, but not a lot more success. Uh Columbus controls early. They draw a power play. The fans called one during that power play. It the referee did not. So fans weren’t happy there, but Florida does kill off the penalty. Marenko has a slot shot that’s held. Then at 456, just as I’m writing shootout on the board, Florida doesn’t go to a shootout. They end it. Bennett buries one on a fast break. Forsling and Marshon with the assists. It’s a 7 to6 overtime victory for Florida. Um a game that I watched I watched a lot of it on mute. I I got to be honest, there are certain broadcast crews that when it’s all day hockey, I’m like I it’s too much screaming. And the Florida broadcast crew, it’s just too loud. It’s just too much screaming all the time by the playby-play announcer. It doesn’t matter how how little there is going on in the ice. His the volume’s always and it’s not the only one. In fact, uh it is about that time of year where I talk about broadcasts and which ones I like the most and why and all that. So, yeah, I I was like, I got to I’ve got to uh just just go ahead and um mute this and just watch it on mute. So, the third period, the overtime, I watched basically almost all of it on mute. Uh, third three stars, Bennett, Verhagy, and Marshon. The funny thing is I was writing out the three stars and they ended up being the exact three stars that I wrote down. So, that populated just before I started the video. I’m like, “Okay, cool.” So, I got the same three stars they did. Shots on that 9 to8 Florida in the first, 1512 Florida in the second, 12-6 Florida in the third. Final shots or the shots in overtime 5 to4 Columbus, but Florida with the shot that was necessary to get the victory. Uh, final shots 40 to 31 for Florida. Power plays Columbus one for four, Florida two for four. Uh the hits 30 to 15 for Florida and again Bennett Verhagy Marsh on the three stars. Uh Mers Leakens 33 saves on 40 shots. Rough day for him, rough day for Babski as well, saving 25 out of 31. So um this is not the kind of game that coaches enjoyed, but it’s the kind fans enjoy. And there you go. Let me know your thoughts on these two games as we get ready for a 10ame night in the National Hockey League. Hit like and subscribe in the event you may not have done so already. Uh thank you guys so much for all your support. It’s greatly appreciated. I will talk to you again soon.
That’s two games down, ten to go today.

I hate Florida. Not just the team, the whole state. And Marchand. But his goal was excellent. Using the leg to keep the defenseman from getting to the puck, skating on one foot, making the cut, getting the puck and putting it in. Just a top notch goal. I also had the game muted.
Verhaege and Bennett heard the criticism on yesterday's video and delivered. 😂
Mackinnon is a monster.
I agree, Goldie and Randy are not very good.
I love Goldie and Randy, but I wish Goldie would let off the gas pedal a bit especially on goal calls. Let the viewers absorb a bit of the moment like if they were there live.
Nooooooooooooo!!! It's not fair! Why do the Avalanche get to win in OT in the Garden and we don't?! Now we're 3 points back and, wait, you know what, this is fine. I'd rather finish second in the Central and play the Wild than finish first and end up with the Oilers. Like I said last night, we're just trying to make it interesting. Starsforever❤
I absolutely love that Avs hat, every time you put it on I cant help but be a bit jealous
Two great games, sheesh. The scoring in the jackets vs cats game was just amazing, but man do those cats have nerves of steel. Columbus completely choked the overtime and Marchand is such a sheister that you have to give him his due credit for how he swung the mental game in their favor. Him sneaking over to the Columbus bench for a cheeky listen in was absolutely hilarious, classic Marchand.
WOOF WOOF MACDAWG
I watched 2 Avs games this year, both loses. So I didn't watch today and win. I'm magical if I ignore them…😂
I have to agree with your thoughts on Florida's play-by-play guy – no voice that nasal should be put up so high in the mix – it's a sure fire way to give someone a migraine.
The Panthers finally met a worthy contender in the Blowing Leads Competition that they made up.
Any day the Isles win and the rags lose is a good day.
WE WILL TOLERATE NO STEVE GOLDSTEIN SLANDER HOCKEY GUY!!!!!!!!!!!
The home ice disadvantage continues for the NYR. However they played really well. Just not good enough to win. Sheary’s goal was sick btw.
What was Borgen doing on the ice in OT?
both my teams won… good hockey day!
Im actually worried about the Avs. This game should have been a blowout but it was not.
3:51 as an Avs fan, yes I would challenge and take a chance being short handed against the Avs 😂
How is everyone talking about Mackinnon and not the fact that this was Shesterkins 7th start in a row, that included a back to back, against the best team the league and he still playes out of his mind.
10:40 But Goldy and Randy are so much fun… I get it when you watch 2-16 games a night but we like the energy. People also claim they are the most biased in the league which is insane to think, but when I listen to international broadcasts I have never heard more then 3 good things said about the panthers if they are winning and just that the other team is doing awful and what they are doing wrong.
i hate being a blue jackets fan
Doesn't seem like that missed game stoppage was much different from thursday but that goal counting is just making this an unserious officiated league. Dean Evason should be upset.
That Panthers vs Blue Jackets game is the best game I've ever seen in my entire life… I sincerely hope you get paid well doing this channel because your passion for the game is dead.
A win is a win, but that Rangers tying goal, about 10 seconds before it was played with a high stick and was a missed stoppage of play, no way Bedsy would review it after what has been happening like every single game for us, but truly not happy with the Zebras yet again.
The DNVR review of th egame shows the play on replay and highlights it and yeah you can argue homer etc… But also we're 1st in the NHL and yet we are still constantly bitching about how bad the officiating is, can only feel sorry for fans of teams lower in the standings cause league wide these are all the same useless pricks officiating every game fucking it all up for allllll of us.
THG needs a 6 7 magnet😂
Steve Goldstein is a legend don’t you dare 😂
COL – "Mikko, who?"… 🤣…They're probably happy just to get all the penalty minutes back. And I have to imagine Necas was happy to get out of CAR. The more time that passes, the more genius that trade looks…
Watched every second of the Jackets game. It might have been the most pathetic showing of officiating I have ever seen. And I have watched a lot of hockey in my life
Having Luostarinen back definitely made a big difference. There was some bad moments for the Panthers and Bobrovsky not being able to bail them out of those made things scary. The fact that the team didn't fold in this one felt like a big deal, some needed players heating up and the team slowly getting pieces back as long as they can get consistent goaltending the cats will get rolling.
29 BRING IN THE PAINN!!!
Avs are super ordinary
Great battle from the rangers in that one
How did he not wear a Panthers jersey for this video?!? Are you kidding me?!?
As a jackets fan, every time we go up two I start sweating. Nothing good ever comes of it
