Not to beat a dead horse here but I think I am lacking some knowledge about waivers. Could the team have reached out to Slay to see if he would have come to Buffalo before claiming him and releasing Ingram? Obviously it is frustrating that Slay will not play here in Buffalo, but I would like to have kept Ingram for depth in that case. Is there a rule prohibiting the team from speaking with Slay or something?
Man forget slay he’s in the past

Yes! FINALLY! Honesty!!!!!!! … wow…
Next question: “can you ask Brandon about Slay for us?”
He seems really cranky about it
The complication here is that Slay’s agent is Rosenhaus. The Bills don’t want to upset Drew for the long term
Can we let the 35 year old DB go and maybe sign someone off a practice squad or something?
Spoken like a teacher who knows they can’t openly talk shit about their superintendent but really, really wants to.
Why are reporters even asking about this? Slay is over, he’s not coming here and we don’t want him now anyway, as he clearly isn’t interested. Stupid question, I wonder which media member asked it.
The way this whole thing played out is pretty ridiculous. How Ingram got released before knowing Slay was not coming to Buffalo is pretty asinine. I honestly have no idea how the whole process works but wouldn’t there be, at least, a brief conversation with a new player when picking them up for the active roster?
Some of y’all are projecting some awfully wishful thinking.

Love seeing McD starting to distance himself from Beane. Get Beane’s bum ass out of town.
This stupid situation is the leader in the club house for dumb rule that gets fixed the year after it screws the Bills.
Yes, get Brandon Beane on WGR and have another meltdown about how he’s fucking dogshit at his job and how Josh Allen is literally the only thing keeping his job.
Woof. That response speaks volumes.
McClapper is known to be a stubborn control freak. Sometimes he lets it shine through in the media.
The question to him was pointless. Media looking for a sound bite. I’ll have to listen again but I bet I could guess who asked it without the double check.
If the bills fall short in the playoffs McDermott is going to scapegoat Beane over this Darius Slay bs. You can see this train coming from a mile away.
McDermott salty about a guy who was a healthy scratch the last 3 games he was on the team. Let’s not get it twisted, Ingram isn’t that good of a nfl player.
