Jaxson Dart on Returning From the Bye Week | New York Giants
Good to be back and practicing and then how how’d your by-week go? What did you focus on? Yeah, great to be back. Um, you know, really good energy today. Uh, felt refreshing. Um, you know, had some time off and everybody was just, you know, excited to get back to work. So, um, you just took a lot of time, self scout, and, uh, you know, just going to improve on on things we need to improve on these next next four weeks. What are you looking what are you looking to try to accomplish this next four weeks? Uh, win. That simple for you? Yeah. Win four games. Take one at a time. When you say self when you say self scout, everyone always says we self scout. What does that mean for you? You go back everything and look and analyze and you know all that. What does it mean? Yeah, you just have conversations, you know, with the coaching staff. Um, you know, we’re able to have that extra time to watch, you know, all the games back, all the reps back and um, you know, just try to find, you know, those things where maybe you’re making a few of like similar mistakes. um maybe there’s you know past concepts that you need to improve at. So you know during that time you just work on those things and um you know just making sure you know your mechanics are in the right spot so you get a little extra time to you know not really worry about game planning and uh you know take the time on the field to you know walk through your mechanics um you know based on you know different actions or whatever it may be. So um you know definitely I felt like it was beneficial. Every snap do you look at? Yeah, you go back and watch every snap. Did you did you watch any of the games on Sunday, Jackson, or Yeah, I did. And if so, like what are you watching them for entertainment? Are you you’re trying to pick little things out of it that could potentially help you down the road? Yeah, I mean I I love to watch that uh you know that Cincinnati and and Bills game. Um you know those are I mean there’s a lot of quarterbacks around the league who um do a lot of really good things and who have been balling this year. So, um, you know, it’s feels, you know, good to, um, you know, watch those guys kind of see the things that they’re, you know, exceptional at, lead at, and, uh, you know, try to correlate, you know, some of their traits into your own game. when you’re watching and talking about all the improvements you kind of want to make for yourself. What did you watch back and what were you happy with of um I felt like my decision- making’s been um you know pretty good like you know not putting the ball in harm’s way and um you know situationally um you know felt like um you know I didn’t really try to force things too much. I kind of just try to let the game come to me and um so you know I was happy with that. Um I was happy with you know our offense. I don’t feel like we took a take a ton of negative plays. So, you know, those were good things and um felt like, you know, obviously the the Patriots game was a tough one, but I feel like as an offense, we’ve been able to be pretty explosive and do some good stuff. So, um you know, those were definitely things that um you know, I was happy about when I look back on it. What’s your uh he’s not playing this week, but what’s your relationship like with Jaden? I know you’ve mentioned him a couple of times. I think you you guys said you’ve trained with him in the past. Uh yeah, me and Jane have the same quarterback coach. So, u really just since high school we’ve been training together. So, what like what what’s your relationship like? Are you friends, competitors? How how would you describe both? I mean, on the football field, we’re always competing, but you know, we have a really good relationship off the field and um you know, he has a great family. So, it’s been, you know, fun to kind of have our journeys cross paths along the way of, you know, us playing in the Pack 12 together back then and then carrying over to the SEC and then obviously just in the offseason spent a lot of time just training and and uh you know just kicking it off the field as well. So, um he’s a great dude, a great player and uh it’s going to be fun to compete against him again. I was going to say how much are you looking forward to it’s coming next year now I think. Yeah, I mean we’re going to be playing against each other a lot the next coming year so um you know just fun to you know have that that competition. I would think that game you played against him in 2023 has got to be highlight I would think for you. Yeah, definitely. You know that was a that was a really fun game for us at Little Miss. Um you know that’s one that me and Malik talk about a lot too and um you know they they got us in 2022 so uh we’ve been able to go back and forth and and have some fun games. We never asked you but uh what did you think of the whole I mean it was big news the whole Lane Keifin leaving Miss and not being able to coach the bowl game. What how did What did you think of that whole thing? Yeah, crazy. Um I think with K, you know, he kind of does some things that are unexpected. Um but you know, I’m I’m I’m looking forward to, you know, his next opportunity and um you know, me and him just have such a great relationship and um so you know, I know for him that he’s going to put his best foot down and um do some really great things for that program and um I’m definitely excited for him. Um, I’m also really happy for for Miss, you know, keeping coach Golding um at the helm there. And um, you know, I was also just happy that they were able to keep, you know, their their offensive staff being able to come back and and coach the rest of the playoff. I felt like that was that’d be kind of um I don’t know, just like a disrespect a little bit to not let those guys finish it out. Um, and uh, really happy to see they’re excited to see um, their run for a national championship this year. It’s been a while since you’ve had a division game. The last one was the Eagles, I believe. So, how are you feeling kind of going into another division opponent knowing that obviously tensions are going to be a little bit more heightened a little bit? Yeah, these games are huge. Um, so really excited to get back to it. Obviously, you know, you watch the first game and see how, you know, the teams, each team has adjusted, us and them, um, up until this point. So, it’s going to be a game of chess for sure and, um, it’s going to be really good energy. Can you even go back to that first game knowing how that’s both teams are so different now? Can you even look at that game and take much from it? Um, you know, there’s maybe, you know, a few things you definitely want to watch like, you know, where did they get us in spots because, you know, those are things that more than likely they’re going to try to come back come back to. So, you got to be able to make sure you’re prepared and correct those things. And then, um, you know, you got to definitely watch probably a lot more of their most recent games. So, um, that’s kind of the the balance between them. Jackson, you’ve spoken a lot about your leadership. I mean, really, from the first time you you stepped in the locker room, let alone starting. I’m just curious with you come back from the buy. Do you take more of a role, look around the locker room, see what guys are into it, maybe what guys might need a little talking to, you know, that kind of role for you now? Yeah, absolutely. I think it’s just it’s extremely important and you know it’s it’s really required for us to make sure that we um you know these last four games really put our best foot down and um you know you preach around that like you know your resume is your tape and so making sure that everybody has the right mindset um the right attention to detail to everything um when it comes to their process and um you I just think it’s it’s extremely important to take these weeks one by one but to be very detailed and disciplined in in our approach. Do you get that same sense from some of your older teammates? They’re pretty much all older teammates to you who’ve been through this before and kind of a you know, it’s all fresh and new to you even with the losing, but some of these guys that are down and they may not be here next year that that do you have to convince them, look, you you mentioned just before the most important thing next four games to win. Do you sense that they feel that priority that you do? Yeah, I do. Um, you know, you definitely just have that message, like you said, to echo across the locker room and in the meetings and everything. Um, to making sure that, you know, we are approaching it the right way. Um, and, you know, it’s definitely new to, you know, a lot of us, you know, kind of just the season that we’ve we’ve kind of had up to to this point. Um, so they’ve, you know, they’ve also been able to, you know, help the young guys, I feel, as well. Um, because it’s it’s definitely not fun and, um, you know, you just try to not be discouraged. Um, obviously you got to just keep competing and and writing it out and um, you know, making sure that, you know, you don’t lose sight of, you know, the opportunities that you have each week. So, um, I feel like, you know, we just have, you know, good leadership throughout and we just have, we have really good guys in the locker room who support each other and, um, you know, really just try to put their best foot down to win. We’ll take three more. How cool is the opportunity? I know you kind of wish you probably had it with your team, Corner Canyon. Yeah. And your brother getting to play for like, you know, on ESPN a national championship type game. Yeah. I’m I’m super jealous. Um, you know, I I I kind of see that, you know, my senior year, you know, that’s that was the best team that, you know, the state of Utah’s had. So, um, you know, I just think it’s an incredible opportunity for for them um on on a really big stage playing against an elite opponent. Um, it’s definitely going to be a game that, you know, I hope all you guys are are tuned into as well because it’s, you know, I think everybody can look back to their high school um, experience and, you know, when you have an opportunity to play for a national championship, I mean, that’s just such a cool opportunity for your city, you know, and and just that close-knit community. So, I can’t wait to watch them and um, you know, hope for the best. How much are you able to talk kind of break it down with your brother a little bit before? I know you’re focused on your own game, but Yeah. No, it was it was cool being able to um have a little bit more time to, you know, watch his tape, too. And um you know, he’s kind of bouncing back and forth between football and basketball right now, but uh being able to watch like a little bit of high school tape and and talk through, you know, some things and some keys for for him and um you know, I know that he’s, you know, ecstatic for this game and um you know, just looking forward to supporting him. This guy who posted a video of himself today walking into the facility without any additional aids or gear. Did you get a chance to see him? How good was it to see him without crutches or boot or the scooter? It was definitely like just a bright spot. I know that like he’s obviously thrilled to kind of have that relief. Um and you know, I know that his recovery is coming along, you know, really well. So, it was good to just see him, you know, come into the facility today with a smile on his face and um he’s just a, you know, really good guy to have in the locker room. And I know it’s it’s been really hard for him um these last, you know, these these weeks that he’s just had, you know, time to recover and whatnot because, you know, his love is is football. So, um you know, I’m just happy that he’s able to, you know, get back into the facility more, be around the guys, and um you know, see him with a smile.

Let’s gooo, finish strong so Jax can win Offensive Rookie of the Year
Love to hear your voice again!
Let’s go Giants 1-0 this week!!
We love you 6
I always want to see his podium stuff and then I always cringe at the lameness of the questions these people ask.
Get this kid a coach and build this team. He is the future for the Giants. We need to hit a home run with this next coach. Same with D coordinator. Don’t let this go to waste we are getting close!
FIRE JOE SCHOEN
He’s getting more confident
who’s ready for another 2-6 start next year? Show of hands please.
What's your goal the last for games?
WIN!
I like that conviction. No BS, just win.
Giants win 17-12
Even if they are 0 and forever, I’ll always support my Giants.
I hope we dont win any more games this season. Lets get a #1 pick for the post Daboll rebuild. Start Rus, if he does well he can be a starter on plenty of other teams. He doesnt want to be a backup, Jameis is a solid backup- hes younger and more durable too.
can we stop interviewing people right after practice??
Elite QB
Loved the WIN answer! Here for it, and honestly, I'm good with a season end win streak. Definitely not in the "tank" mentality for draft position that majority of the fan base seems to fall into. And I'm a fan almost 50 years, so have definitely been through hell and back and all kinds of emotions with this team. A win is a win, and I will take that any day!
Noticed him light up when got to talk about Skatt! 😂 Know he misses his bud, and look forward to both out there next season! LFG Big Blue!! 💙💙
actually jaxson dart is playing better than eli during his first year.
Giants fan All the way Here Support California ❤ big blue nation have Happy Holidays Great 2026
