  11. My favorite met since Wright. Never gonna forget being at a bar during the Milwaukee game with my fraternity buddies and telling them I’d buy the next round if he hit a homer. Best money I ever spent.

  14. Pete’s debut was the first day of the first season I was a full-time fan in the UK. I’ve never followed the Mets without him (and he played pretty much every game too).

    But his debut was also on the day I adopted my dog, who died at the weekend. It’s a real end of an era in more ways than one for me this week.

  23. At this point, we could win the World Series next year and it would feel hollow without the 3 guys we just lost

    They never won anything, and this season was a disaster. I root for the team more than the players

  25. This is 100% on David Stearns. He got rid of the three guys he should have kept. If he should have gotten rid of anybody it should have been that loser Francisco Lindor. The guy who couldn’t actually take a hold of the team and lead us when everybody was saying he’s the captain. Well he wasn’t the captain. And look what happened when he wasn’t able to take us anywhere. The other guy’s got kicked off the team. The guys that he said didn’t have the winning mentality. He threw the other guy’s under the bus so he wouldn’t get traded because he knows he’s the true bust. He’s overpaid and overrated and he’s not worthy of the C. If he was at all, his teammates would still be here. Less flashy gloves less flashy shoes. More concentration on the field. It’s on Lindor now.

  26. If Soto got 15 years then Alonso should get 5 years. The Mets should of locked him up since he was the Mets’ best RBI machine (126). He’s 2nd in the league in RBIs. Please LORD thy God fire Stearn 🤡 immediately! ✝️ 🙏

  27. Will absolutely miss Pete,he was a standout player,but the Mets didn’t even make the postseason last year… so I completely understand how heartbroken all of the fans are. Hopefully it will be a change they need. It’s still so early. Next season when the Mets make the playoffs,everyone will look back and say wow they made the moves they needed to. LGM 🔶🔷🔶🔷

  34. I’m so heartbroken over this honestly. Pete was our guy. He had a great year. He is a great player. This, Nimmo, AND Diaz is insanity. None of them were the problems. There were other bigger issues. Horrible strategy imo. I know some people would side eye me for saying this, but I think I’m out for the foreseeable future. It just won’t be the same without him. The other 2 losses hurt. This one devastated. Pete, on the insanely low chance you see this, wishing you all the best man. Your rookie year story got me into baseball back in 2019. You’ve brought me so many happy moments in some real tough times. Love you man.

  42. I like Pete but his bad throw that got Senga hurt changed the season for the worse.
