The St. Louis Blues make SNEAKY good signing…

The St. Louis Blues have made multiple signings, one of which is a familiar face to the organization and the fan base alike. They’ve made some interesting moves within the organization. And not only that, head coach Jim Montgomery has revealed some surprising injury updates. We’re going to break down all of that in this episode of Blues Digest. But before we get into all of that, a quick reminder to hit that subscribe button. We’ve noticed that about 68% of you who watch these videos are not subscribed to the channel. We’re keeping you guys up to date. And don’t worry, Mark Pie will be back tomorrow. But shout out to Mark for the beautiful thumbnail on this video. But of course, as you saw in the thumbnail and while you clicked into this video, we got some other updates. We’ll get to those in a second. Robbie Fabry, a familiar face to the organization, has signed for the rest of the season. And this is not a PTO. This is not an ATO. Robbie Fabry has signed a regular standard league minimum contract. Of course, he has there is the ability to go down to the AHL, of course, with the contract and he has the $300,000 um you know, payout in the AHL. That is a salary and league minimum 775 in the NHL. So, this is a very interesting signing and the timing of it is very interesting because, you know, he’s missed a lot of time. It’s no surprise. And he missed time when he was with the Blues due to injury. I mean, this is one of the most unlucky players in NHL history with some of the injury problems he’s uh had, but man, this guy has come back stronger each time. I really respect Robbie Fabri, the work that he’s put in to rehabilitate himself to, you know, get back on the ice and continue to play at the NHL level season in, season out, despite some devastating injuries. And of course, we saw him last with the St. Louis Blues in uh the season just before COVID, so the 1920 season. So, it’s been a while, but he resigns here and he just was on a PTO with the Charlotte Checkers, and he had two points in three games with them on that tryyout deal. Now, this is very interesting when you take a look at this quote from the head coach, and we’ll get to Jordan Kyu later in this episode. Stay tuned for that. We have a major update on him, but he said he hasn’t played a lot of hockey. We talked about having a strong work work ethic to get up to speed, but you can see his composure. He wants to make plays and makes people around him better. and that is the Charlotte Checkers head coach who just had him for three games down there in the AHL most recently this year. He was just released from his PTO with the Panthers organization. So, he’s now back with the Blues. This is a very interesting move and I do wonder with him having a very strong showing in the AHL this year and the praise from his head coach down in the AHL if we do see him factor right into the NHL lineup. I mean, he’s played in the NHL as most recently as last year. He had 16 points in 44 games with the Anaheim Ducks. Um, and he hasn’t really lost a step in terms of I mean, he’s been playing at the NHL level despite injuries and not being able to stay healthy. So, I wonder if he factors into the NHL lineup right away because of how many injuries this team is dealing with. There is a plethora of players out right now. I mean, Torpchenko is still out. We know that Walker is out. We have an update on Kyu we’re going to get to in just a second. Snugru is out for two months, right? a lot of significant injuries to this group and they’ve gone through some injuries already this year with guys who are currently in the lineup. So uh you can see he recently played three games with uh two points in those games on a PTO. Uh and in terms of other updates before we get to another signing. We’ll break this in half here. Uh Jordan Kyu is officially and this is from David Pota officially week to week with a lower body injury. And this is good news because it sounded like it was going to be longer term than just week to week or maybe the two weeks that he is going to be out at this at this point. They were going to come home do some imaging and the thought was that the injury was way more significant than it actually is. So that’s good news. Of course he’s out and it’s never good news but this team’s got to find a way to score without him. If you take a look at the scores so far this season and the top scorers and I mean we got to talk about and we’re about to as well in a little bit. Kyu is fourth in scoring for this team with 16 points in 28 games. Uh, and of course that’s not great production for him. I mean, Thomas has had a really good season, but when you take a look at, you know, his points this year and where he factors into the lineup, they’re missing their fourth best scoreer. So, yes, he’s only scored 16 points in those 21 games, uh, 28 games, excuse me, and you want more out of him. I think he has still had one of the best offensive seasons as a blue this year. and Buchavic just passed him with the last little run he’s been on since being uh you know sent down uh the lineup at least not down to the AHL of course but uh you know being with Al Cyru this is very significant and I wonder how they navigate this for the next couple of weeks. So let me know how you feel about that. Let me know how you feel about Robbie Fabry returning to the Blues organization as well. I do wonder if he factors right into the lineup. Now another thing to get to there was some uh news about this yesterday and we covered it briefly on the channel. I don’t understand the signing. I do from a hockey perspective. Uh because, you know, we took a look at his stats yesterday and we know what he’s done at the KHL level. Uh and obviously in the past in the NHL, but Dylan Dubet has officially been signed to an AHL tryyout deal. So, it’s a professional tryyout deal. It’s an ATO. So, he hasn’t signed an official contract yet. It’s not a standard contract or anything like that. He has officially signed the ATO that we were talking about yesterday. And this is the official statement from the St. Louis Blues and the organization on the signing of Dylan Dubet to an ATO uh or an AHL PTO, whatever we’re calling it at this point. And they said that the St. Louis Blues have signed Dylan Dubet to a professional tryyout with our AHL affiliate affiliate, excuse me, in following the process set forth by the NHL and its players association upon his reinstatement. This decision follows a comprehensive review of the details of his case and discussions at all levels of our organization. And of course, I’m reading this out just in case you’re listening on audio and you’re not able to read it. But we are confident in the decision to offer the try out. And we will provide the necessary support to ensure Dylan contributes positively both on and off the ice and sorry on the ice and in the community. We will always hold our players to the highest standards uh and consistent with the core values of our organization and that will be emphasized as we move forward. So that is the official statement from the St. Louis Blues organization on signing Dylan Dubet. We’ll wrap it up there. Let me know how you feel about that signing in the comments. Again, keep in mind it’s not a standard agreement like the Robbie Fabry deal. Robbie Fabry couldn’t play in the NHL if he wants. It is a contract for the rest of the year. This contract for Dylan Dubet is a professional try out, an AHL professional try out. So, keep that in mind. Let me know how you feel about that in the comments. Now, some other news to get to. Of course, a heartbreaking loss in Boston last night. I mean, they’re dropping a lot of these stinker heartbreaker games. And I just wanted to to point out a few things in particular. First thing, of course, and we’ve covered it on the channel to this point is Joel Hoffer’s emergence as possibly the starter of this team over Jordan Bennington. He’s been great. He’s been playing with a lot of confidence and composure. I wouldn’t pin this game last night on him. Uh, and Jeremy goes on to say, it takes a special breed to play the position and goal, of course, and the way they stick with it through the tough times is something. He’s gone through a lot so far this season. He has looked a lot better. And I’m looking at Bennington. I think they got to challenge Bennington at this point. Hoffer has, I think, rise to the occasion a little bit. And the team also just not getting it done on some nights. Some nights they look good. I think they they got outplayed over the weekend, but they came out with, you know, a lot of, uh, really crucial points there, uh, in, you know, Ottawa and both Montreal. But, uh, at the end of the day, they do have to figure some of this out. Now, I wanted to point this out, too. In through November 22nd, and keep in mind this was, I believe, halfway through the game when he did tweet this out. And shout out to Jeremy. Uh, through November 22nd, Holloway has three goals, five assists, eight points. Bhnavic has really, really, really turned it on since he was, you know, pushed down the lineup uh and called upon to offer more to the lineup. He with the same statline, he has eight points in that time. Shen’s been a little bit better. Thomas, you would like to see put up more points. Kyu again, I mean, I think you’re going to miss him in terms of offensive production, but I think we all expect a little bit more from him. Neighbors has been good all year. I don’t mind that stat line for what he’s worth and what he’s making, all of that stuff. And what we thought he was going to be coming to this year, he’s a lot better. So, their record in that time is 53 and one in those nine games. The top six production has definitely made a difference in that time, but of course, they are still getting outplayed in a lot of areas. And that brings us to comment of the day because it kind of plays into that as well. and they go on to say, “I’m already thinking of drafting in the top five next year, but I’m okay with that. I think our future looks much better than our present.” A lot of people, even though they’re only two points out of a playoff spot right now, are saying just start selling, start tanking, get that, you know, nice draft pick and then bring up all the kids in the future because at the end of the day, you’re going to have handing off the keys to a lot of them anyway. And D’Vorski, you know, he started in the AHL, looks like he’s an everyday NHLer at this point. So, let me know how you feel about all of that in the comments. A lot that we covered today. Let me know how you feel about it in the comments. And if you haven’t yet, hit that subscribe button so you can stay up to date with everything St.

  1. You've got to be kidding me…another band-aid to try to shore up this disastrous and failed season…this has to be some sort of sick joke. What happened to Lucic, again?? 🤨
