🔴 LIVE🔴Philadelphia Eagles VS Las Vegas Raiders /Week 15/ Madden NFL 26

opened back in 2003. Have a look at the link Lincoln Financial Field where 70,000 are rocking and ready to go in Philadelphia. Coming up, we got a good matchup on tap here as it’ll be the Las Vegas Raiders taking on the Philadelphia Eagles. Brandon Gond and Charles Davis on hand. Kickoff just moments away. Charles, quickly, keys to the game. For me, it’s coaching. who prepared his team the best going into this one to give them the confidence to believe that they would win the game. That’s who’s going to come out of this one on top. Daniel. Here’s the former Auburn kicker Daniel Carlson to get this one started. And off we go from Lincoln Financial Field. And they’ll get him down inside the 30 at the 27. Philly’s offense getting ready and Jaylen Herz ready to lead them. the second round pick who started his career at Alabama, then finished with an electric senior season at Oklahoma. Tremendous production in college at two different universities. And this is a guy who was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Still much more of a runner than a thrower, but has plenty of arm and is capable of making the big throws downfield. And don’t underestimate his ability to think the game. Remember, he’s the son of a coach. Play action. Here’s Herz. That’s caught by the big tight end, Dallas GD. And he’ll be taken down, but not before they work it across midfield. The extra effort after the catch makes it good for a gain of 26 and also a first down. Man coverage on the left side. So, I really like the design of this play because they opened up the field and brought their tight end the other way on a crossing route. That’s a lot of ground to cover if you’re a defender. I’ve been there before. unable to stay with his man there. Dances by him. Well, they nearly sprung him that time as he takes this all the way down to the 37. 10 yds there and an Eagle first down. Well, no slow start here. A couple nice chunk plays back to back. I love the momentum that they’re showing here early because they did it both ways, right? Threw the ball on first down for a nice chunk of yardage. Came right back and ran the ball. Looks like they got the defense set back on their heels. Let’s see if they can keep this moving. Open man has got it the tight end and he is out of bounds inside the 30. That’s good for a first down. His second catch of the opening drive. That early game script that they drew up is working pretty well here on this first drive. Already in field goal range. Charles knocking on the door of the red zone. You know, Brandon, when we met with the coaching staff, they kind of predicted that they would come out firing like this. I think you and I were a little skeptical it’d be this easy, but they certainly knew what they were doing in scouting, in preparation, and understanding what their team was capable of. Now, it looks like we’ve got a Raider here slow to get up. Well, they come out and take a look at him. We will step aside for just a moment. from the 23. Here’s a second and seven. [Applause] Herz throwing over the middle, but it’s incomplete. Chances are good. He’s going to be a very busy guy. Two catches already in this opening drive and they were looking his way for a third. I think they put this defense on notice that that could be a really really frequent combination. They head to the line facing a third and seven following the incompletion on second down. Here’s Herz to throw. Now he’ll tuck this and run. And he is into the end zone. Touchdown Philadelphia. Jaylen Herz a 23 yd run and the Eagles are on the board first here this afternoon. Let’s make no bones about it. On paper, they’re the better team. They’re at home. That’s a strong opening drive. And just think how many times we’ve seen this type of a matchup. Just what you said, better team at home should steamroll them. And we’ve seen it go the other way. Sometimes though, they buy into it and understand we are the better team. Let’s go out and prove it right now. Elliot good with a pat. And it’s now a seven nothing game. That time a sixplay drive. And the finishing touch was that nice long run into the end zone. Now after the touchdown, here’s Elliot on to kick it away and up to about the 26 yd line. just across the 25. So, here comes the Raiders offense now onto the field and they’re led out by their mobile quarterback out of West Virginia. It’s Gino Smith. As I remember back in 2013 when he was drafted out of West Virginia, he was coming off a back-to back 4,000yard seasons for the Mountaineers. Hadn’t seen as much game time in recent years, but at one point a capable starter in the NFL. Now a run. Here’s the first round pick from April’s draft. And he’s out of bounds. Able to take this one up to the 35. It’ll be a pick up of 10 yd and that’ll make it second and a foot or so. On any explosive run, you can almost feel the ground shaking. And that’s from the offensive lineman creating space for their runners. I had an old coach tell me before they always told his runners, “Run around the offensive line in pregame. Get used to the ground shaking so you don’t trip and fall when it happens in a game. Trying to bounce it outside, but he’s only able to get it back to the line of scrimmage. They’ll say no gain on the play. So, it was looking good, but nothing there. And now it’s third down and inches. Heavy set out there on third and one. They’ll sneak it with Smith and he is going to have the Raiders first down maybe by about a yard as they find a way to convert on third and inches. There may be a little bit of an element of surprise there. Third and inches and they go quarterback sneak. I still feel like this is a play that often is reserved for fourth down. So here’s a first and 10 at the 38. Oh, they’ll try the sweep. It’s Lockett with it. Oh, and this one that may need to go back to the drawing board. He’s going to be swallowed up right away. He’ll lose a yard there. And it’s second and 11. That’s the danger, Charles, of running plays like this for your wide receiver. They can hit big or they can be duds. Yeah, you’re exactly right about that because if they’re forced to try and go around defenders behind the line of scrimmage, sometimes you can give yardage in order to gain it. But in this case, they gave yardage and didn’t get it back. And a six-yd gain gets him right around the 43. [Applause] The Eagles call on the extra defensive back here as they prepare for a stop on third down. Here’s Smith. He’s got his target. That’s complete. But he is out of bounds inside the 35. Backto back receptions for him and it’s another first down. And this was a nice example of an offensive coordinator scheming his guy open. Just a little underneath route just trying to free up some space and it worked awfully well. Got him not just space but plenty of room to run after the catch to pick up really nice yardage. And nowhere to run on the interior of that defensive line. and he’ll get back only to the line of scrimmage. Officially, it’s a oneyd loss. That’s going to bring up second and 11. Sometimes I think these defensive tackles get a little bit of a bum wrap. We just see them as big guys that eat up blockers for others to make tackles. Often times they’re quicker than they get credit for. And this time he uses quickness to make a play. They’ll go again with Genty and he works his way free all the way down to the outskirts of the red zone. Give him a first down. 15 yds that time for the Raiders. Las Vegas first down. Quite the opening drive march they’re on right now. It looks a lot like what we saw in practice prior to the game, doesn’t it? You know, because on that last big practice beforehand, you go through your offensive script. You go through your play calling. You go through all the stuff and establish things and it looks like it’s going like clockwork right now for them. They’ll lose a yard there and it’s second and 11. That was well played there defensively. two tight ends in the formation which essentially gave them seven blockers up front. Hard to imagine with all that size and beef that they could let a tackler through, but that’s exactly what happened. A loss resulted throwing now is Gino and incomplete. It’s been a good opening drive offensively thus far, but you know, they don’t want to waste it and settle for a field goal attempt after that incompletion. So, this is a big play coming up here on third down. An incomplete pass on that last play and that means they’ll need to come up with something here on third down. Back to throw Smith. That’s into the hands of his tight end Bowers. And he is out of bounds. Looks like right at the 15. be a gain of five and that’s going to make it fourth down. Brandon, perfect defense in this situation would have meant that there was an incompletion that would have picked it off. Okay, so they gave up the completion. But I really enjoyed watching how the defense stayed in sync, stayed in great communication, and as he dragged across each zone, you see him pointing, communicating. There he is. And they passed him off to each defender. Ended up making a nice play even though it was complete. So, both teams come away with points on their opening drives. Now, they still trail. They answered the touchdown with a field goal, but at least able to break that goose egg here early. And that is what’s important, right? Because they didn’t let that initial touchdown go unanswered. Took the ball themselves, moved it downfield, and put it through the post for three points. Game on. After the made field goal, Carlson sets up to kick this away. and they will wrangle it down a couple yards shy of the 30. So back onto the field here come the Eagles for their second drive and they had the touchdown during the last drive and I’m guessing that you like the balance they had on that last drive and I loved it. Forget liking it. Absolutely love what they were doing because to be ahead of a defense that much where every play call you have, run or pass, is working pretty well for you. Makes you look like a genius. It really does. It also lets you know that your preparation was pretty good and now the defense has to do all the adjusting. Throwing is hurt. Throw right side complete to Dodson and he’s out of bounds. Able to take this one up to the 35. out of bounds. Looks like Pete Carol wants a second opinion here. So, out comes the red challenge flag. Did he keep those feet in bounds? That’s the question they’ve got to decide. And I got to say, watching it in real time, it was awfully close. Yeah, certainly looked like a heck of a catch because he didn’t appear to bobble it, which could complicate things. But even with the benefit of replay, that’s pretty tight. Well, here’s the call. After review of the play, the ruling on the field is reversed. Winds up a very good call there defensively to challenge that one as that now will wind up an incomplete pass. Second and 10. [Applause] Bert sets up to throw it. He’ll get this one complete. That’s AJ Brown. And he’ll be taken down, but not before they reach the 50. 22 yds there. A first down. Eagles first down. First and 10 at the 50 yd line. Well, I think when they look at their offense, they think to themselves, weapons, weapons everywhere. And they want to move the ball around. They want to spread it to different people. But you absolutely know they want to get this man involved as well. And that’s what they just did on that play. [Applause] From the midfield stripe, they’ll look to throw. throw left side complete. Brad Smith. It’ll be a gain of just a yard and it’s second down. It’s a game of matchups and that’s why you take your receivers and move them around a bunch, especially your best guys. And when they work out of the slot, you often hear the coaches talk about how great it is because it gives you a two-way go. You can break out or you can break in. That makes it hard to defend. They’ll set up the screen to Barkley and give him three on the screen. He couldn’t break free. And it’s third down. Good reactions there defensively. That screen was a little slow in developing and they shut that one down with little gain. Here’s third and six. [Applause] Back to throw again. Able to find the open man. That’s complete. and he is going to have an Eagles first down as they’re able to get the third down conversion. And defensively, they were in zone coverage there. Do you have to be a little careful you’re losing playing against a good quarterback like he is to not play too much zone? Yeah, you have to be careful about how much time you’re giving up. I think it’s a good point you just brought up. So maybe if you still want to play zone, you go to a zone blitz scheme and you can drop anyone out of your defensive front, defensive end, defensive tackle, it doesn’t matter. You just exchange someone to bring more pressure towards the quarterback and still try and cover downfield at the 29 yd line. Second and a couple. Looking for AJ Brown again. And he’s got it again. And AJ going to pick up an Eagles first down as he’ll get it down inside the 25. They get five out of that one and it moves the chains. First and 10 at the 24 yd line. [Applause] They’ll run the jet sweep with Brown. He’s dropped just inside the 20. A little second effort there, but couldn’t find a whole lot of space. The tackle made by Aland Roberts. Defensively, they had that one pretty well figured out. Yeah, one of the things about this play, it can be even more effective when you run a lot of motion and there’s plenty of times you don’t hand it off. It’s Barkley on the counter and he’s stopped immediately there. They’ll say no gain on the play there. And now it’ll be third down. All runners count on their eyes to find the gaps increases to find open space. There was absolutely none on that one. Totally swallowed up on that play. They’ll come up facing third and five. They’ll run it again with Barkley and he takes it down to the 13 and picks up the first. They get six on the pick up there as the drive continues. A lot depending on the spot there. And he got it, but it wasn’t by much, was it? I remember coach Madden talking about depending on which foot the official used, that would tell you whether you had the first down or not. You want that upfield foot to be the one that spots the ball, don’t you? And you and I have the luxury of a couple extra views here in the booth. And he did get it, but not by much. And he’s going to lose a yard or two. Taken down behind the line. It’ll only be a loss of a couple, but the pressure gets home on first down. It’s interesting, partner, that most defenses try and guard the 35 yd line actively because they think the way kickers are nowadays about a 52 yard field goal, they’re kind of giving up points. But you get even deeper into territory, you get into the red zone, they’re going to guard it even more, which means more pressure, more blitzing. A small bit of adversity here on what’s been a strong drive as they come up second and 12. From the gun, it’s Herz and his throw is incomplete. I see the surprise in your face there, partner. That is a rare incompletion from him. He’s been on point this entire game. He has percentage completion wise way up. Not that time. An incomplete pass on that last play. And that means they’ll need to come up with something here on third down the middle with Barkley. Just a one-yd pick up there and it’ll be fourth down. That call makes sense because they’ve been throwing it well on this drive and once again they show passing formation, showing the shotgun. Then they ran out of it. That’s a nice play by them defensively though to hold it to a short gain. So Herz is off and on comes Jake Elliot for the Eagle field goal from the right hash. This a 31 yd attempt. The kick by Elliot is good. And that’ll do it for the first quarter of play. 103 our score after one here on EA Sports. Now, second quarter action from Philadelphia and it’s the Eagles in possession as they’ve got it as we resume action. Elliot now to kick this one away [Applause] and he’s up past the 20 to the 22 yd line. Second drive of the game coming up for this Las Vegas offense. Just a lone field goal for him so far. trailing 103 as they come up first and 10. Go get him. Go get him. To throw is Smith. Pressure comes and down he goes. The Eagles get there for the sack. Multiple players combined for their team’s first sack of the game. And every game we talk about what are going to be the keys as we go into it. Maybe that’s a key for their defense today. Pressure the quarterback and make sure you play a good zone defense behind them. And they get their first sack of the contest. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Now following the sack, they’ll look to make amends on a second down and 17. Now a play fake and it’s Smith. Short throw caught by Bowers. So the completion good for seven there and that brings up third and a full 10 yards. That’s a staple of this offense. Drag route to the tight end. Yeah, he’s unable to use his size to break off much more yardage after the catch, but still an effective gain nonetheless. The Raiders on third down. They’ve been okay. Two for three thus far. This is third and 10. He’s going to float this one deep right side and unable to connect. Incomplete. Give them credit. They took their shot, but it’s going to bring up fourth down. Zone coverage there and they were playing deep. That makes it obviously a little bit harder to run by guys and that time there was not much of a window to get the ball in there and it winds up incomplete. Cole now on to punt and he sends this one away. And that’ll hit and go out of bounds. So they’ll start just outside their own 40 yd line. Eagles set and ready for their next offensive drive. Their drive last time it stalled out. They were forced to take the short field goal. And the key phrase, you nailed it. Forced to. Because you know, coaches look at these short field goals as a last resort. Right. To them, that’s not how drives are supposed to end. You’re supposed to put six on the board. That’s a consolation prize. Like going to the county fair. You don’t get the big stuffed animal on that one, do you? No, you don’t go top shelf. That’s bottom shelf material. And no room that time getting it to about the 46. Credit him with a oneyd gain there to make it second and nine. Well, he hasn’t made much of an impact in the running game thus far. And after that last run, not much is going to change in that area. He hasn’t been able to get anything going and really the offensive line not helping him much. On second and nine, Herz got his man complete over the middle. It’s Smith. Herz to his former Alabama teammate Smith for an Eagle first down. Eagles first down. First and 10 at the 45 yd line. [Applause] He’ll keep it himself and holding it maybe the wrong decision as he’s stopped in the back field. Officially it’s a oneyd loss that’s going to bring up second and 11 and not a lot of success to be found there. Oh, you got that right, partner. Because if you’re trying to make guys miss about 10 yards or so downfield, that’s a pretty good play. But if you’ve got to do it in your own back field, I consider that a problem. That doesn’t work too well. This short throw caught by Gddard. So, eight yardds on the completion there. And now it’s third and four. Let’s not quibble about the gain there on second down. That was a positive play because that was a take what you can get situation. Got out to the tight end. Now gives a much better opportunity to convert on third down. In search of four yardds here to pick up the first down. And they’ll run the option on third and short yardage. And he won’t be close to a first down as he runs into a wall right around the line of scrimmage. Call it no gain on the keeper and it’s going to bring up a fourth down. [Applause] back to throw. Work in the middle of the field and he’s got a man complete. Well, we kind of looked at each other as they decided to go for it, but in the end, great execution, a sixyd gain and it all works out. First and 10 at the 32 yd line. So they convert on fourth and now from just outside the 30. Here’s first and 10. This short throw caught by Gddard. And this will leave him a yard short. Nice pickup of nine yds on first down. A few moving pieces on that play cuz that was an RPO, was it not? It was. But one important piece that didn’t move incorrectly, the offensive line. Because when you’re running this play, as he continued down the line of scrimmage, sometimes the lineman can wander downfield and if you’re more than a yard downfield, it’s illegal to throw the football at that point. But they held their ground, held their spot and turned it into a nice game and able to get him down, but he does reach the five. 18 yds that time to push him up. First and goal. That’s another Eagles first down. We often give credit to the O line their two tight end formation. Those tight ends block pretty well also. Yeah. And that’s one of the most dynamic positions in football now. The tight ends who can block at the line of scrimmage at the point of attack and they can under a heavy rush and down he goes. A big loss there of about seven yards on first and goal. So now it’s second down. 12 yd line. First and goal looked like things were set up nicely and now all of a sudden on second and goal, Charles, a big challenge ahead of them. And you have to know when you’re this close to the goal line, things are going to happen faster. So you’ve got to get the ball out quick. Not going to have much time in the pocket before the defenders bring pressure. So they’ve been in the red zone three times and it’s yielded just three points. Can they find the end zone here on second and goal? They’ll look to throw here. Smith catches left side. Five yards that time on the completion. And now it’s third and goal. Gain of five yds brings up third and goal. [Applause] They’ll look to throw now. Herz, he’s going to do it himself. And he’ll take it into the end zone for an Eagles touchdown. Jaylen Herz with his second touchdown here in this first half. And the Eagles go up by two touchdowns. They were looking to pass the ball there, but they forgot to account for the man with the football. Yeah, I can hear people right now saying, “Well, why don’t you have a spy in your defense? Someone who will dance with him and go where he goes.” Well, often times if you utilize a spy, you’ve taken away someone in coverage as well. And often times the spy not as athletic as the guy he’s trying to keep up with, so he gets defeated anyway. And he turns third and goal into a touchdown. Raiders three. A pretty long drive that time. 11 plays all told. And it’s capped off by a touchdown run of six yds. [Applause] Now after the touchdown, here’s Elliot on to kick it away and out a little across the 25 to the 27. Las Vegas’s offense back out there ready to go. These guys definitely hoping for a better showing than their last appearance. They couldn’t really even move the football much beyond the shadows of their own goalpost. Charles, we’ll see if they can get a better, more sustained drive going here. Yeah, and every team that we ever talk to says the exact same thing when you start a drive from that deep in your own territory. The goal is a minimum of at least two first downs because even if you have to punt, then you change the field position, right? You flip the field a little bit. They didn’t get that done. This time they want to string together a nice drive and help themselves out. Now he’s loose at the 40 and finally marked down at the 23. 73 yds rushing for him as he has been tough to stop here this first. That’s good for a Las Vegas first down. We’ve seen him break off a big run already in this game and for a second that one looked like it might be another. Yeah, I think that any defense would say, “Look, we can’t let him get to the second level.” Because sometimes he’ll break off the big run on his own, but often times you get additional blocking at the second level, which gets you deeper into the secondary. Right back to Genty on first down. What a great effort there. He’s going to get this inside the 15 and they’ll spot it at the 13 yd line. Nice run. A pick up of 10 and it’s enough for a Las Vegas first down. I think they like this drive a little bit better there, partner. running game helping out, picking up some of the slack cuz remember the last drive they went three and out from the gun. Here’s Smith. He’ll lock it with a grab over the middle. And he’ll take it into the end zone for a Raider touchdown. Tyler Lockett a 12 yd touchdown grab and the Raiders have cut it back within a score. All the receivers in the league are plenty good enough, otherwise they wouldn’t make it in the NFL. But the ones that go to the Pro Bowl, they have refined route running ability. [Applause] Now for the extra point, Daniel Carlson. And it’s up through the goal post. It’s 1710. Now we’ll get a stoppage here as it appears we’ve got an Eagle slow to get up. Well, now they’re going to come out and take a look at this injury and we’ll be back in a moment. [Applause] Following the touchdown, ready to kick it away is Carlson. and he’ll go down as this drive will start at the 25 yd line. Here’s the Philadelphia offensive unit now as they head out to take over possession. They have to be pleased with the way that they’ve moved the football thus far. And why wouldn’t they be? Two touchdowns on a field goal in their first three possessions. They’re playing so well right now. The field goal probably feels like a disappointment. Herz and the Eagles come up here. First and 10 at their own 25 yd line off the play fake. He’ll look to throw and this one complete to Smith. It’ll go as a gain of four and that’ll make it second down. A gain of four. It’s now second and six at the 28 yd line. [Applause] Barkley inside handoff and he’ll earn a couple of tough yards past the 30 to the 31. The completion on first didn’t get much. And now the run on second doesn’t get a whole lot either. Well, if you’re a good play caller, you’ve already looked ahead and anticipated this type of situation. Already down in his play sheet trying to dial up a big third down play. They’ll set up a throw. This short throw caught by Gddard. And I don’t think he got there. No. Geez. Short by maybe a foot. Maybe. Call it fourth and inches. I know the halftime’s approaching, but I don’t think he’s going to want to take a break. That’s his fifth catch. Yeah, they’ve really been targeting the tight end. On fourth down. Punt coming from Braden Man. Back deep for the Raiders is Trey Tucker. And a fair catch taken back near about the 35 36 yd line. A special teams mistake there. No doubt. Just 26 yds officially on the punt and it’ll be Raiders football first and 10. [Applause] now Gino. Now he’s going to step up and run. He’ll get three yards on the scramble there at second down. Brandon, once that one broke down, there were only so many options left for him to take. Fortunately, only first down. So, he smartly got the yardage he could get and didn’t worry about trying to turn into a bigger play and end up taking a bigger loss here. They hope they can regroup and get something different going here on second down. Gino out of throw. That’s caught by Tucker. And they get to him after a gain of six to the 46. It’s a gain of seven. Brings up third and inches. Two minutes remaining in this first half of football. Here comes third and about a foot and they’ll try and run the option to pick it up. But Eagles going to take the first of their timeouts. So as they talk it over, we step aside. brings up fourth down. [Applause] On fourth down, AJ Cole comes on to punt. Yikes. Terrible kick headed straight for the sidelines. Not good at all. Punt of just 24 yds there. And the Eagles will have it. Taking over. First and 10. The Eagles offense. And Jaylen Herz ready to take over once more. And he’s done everything you could have asked for coming in. He’s spread it around. He hasn’t taken many chances and he’s potentially on his way to a big game throwing the football. The Eagles offense set to begin their next drive as we eek closer and closer to intermission. Charles, remember last time out they punted. They would love to get points here, especially if this is going to be their final possession of the first half. Yeah, and this is what close games feel like because the pressure is on both sides, but sometimes the pressure is a little bit higher on the team with a slight edge because they’re trying to hold on to that, trying to increase it. Let’s see how this one continues. And this is an example of breaking down a defense cuz on a lot of these runs, he’s getting past the point of attack. And guess what he’s doing? Forcing the secondary guys to have to make a lot of tackles. And they’ll get him down as he’s inside the 40. A good gain again. And that’s now 31 yds combined on those last two plays. Good strong throw and catch right there. And so far in this game, the alleys have been open for them to get completions and they’re taking advantage of it. Backto back good plays have them on the move on first down. Throwing quickly. That’s caught by Brown out wide and he’s taken down inside the 30. 11 yds for number 11. So many times in my career, I’ve heard coaches talk about completions are one thing, but as long as we’re there at the catch and we get guys on the ground, we can live with that. But if you’re going to give up 10, 12, 15 yards after the catch, then your defense is going to be in a lot of trouble. Here’s a fake on the Jet sweep as they’ll go instead with Barkley. Now the Eagles will use the second of their timeouts as the clock will stop with just under 30 seconds to go in the first half. Second and six. I feel like I could see what he was thinking on that carry. Wanted to follow that big tackle through the hole. Ended up only getting four yards on the carry. I think he had designs on that one being bigger. Second down and six now. [Applause] Here’s Herz to throw. Now he’ll and he can’t find anywhere to go with it. And he goes down. It’ll go as a loss of three on the sack and it brings up third down. So, Charles, no turnovers yet for this offense, but those sacks now, they’re starting to pile up. And one thing usually leads to another because they’ve got to figure out how the offensive line and everyone else involved in protection can keep their quarterback upright and allow him a chance to throw the ball downfield. And unless this is a quick incompletion, this is likely the last play here of this first half. They’ll throw now on the final play. This short throw caught by Goddard and they’re going to mark him down short, maybe by about a yard, if that. All right, Brandon, thanks much. Welcome in everyone to the downtown Orlando studios. Scott Hansen and crew with you for a short and sweet halftime as this game’s had a little bit of everything to it. We’ll find out which side can establish some tempo in the third quarter as we’re ready to kick off the second half. Back out to our commentary team, Brandon Goden and Charles Davis, Scott, we thank you as always and we’ll see what happens here in the second half. Both teams try to find the right formula to come out with the victory. One touchdown is the difference. 17-10 our score. And we are back underway on EA Sports. And a decent return out to the 27 yd line. The Raider offense ready to go here to start the third quarter. And they do trail, but they have a chance to possess the football first to try and do something about it. And that certainly makes it something of an important drive for him because is it going to win the game? No. But you have to do something to bring some life to your sideline. Looking to put a drive together. And this a quick slant to lock it. and give him six yards here as he stopped near the 35 at the 34. Was that a designed pass or what was that? It was built into the play call. He had the opportunity to either hand it inside, keep it himself to run it or do what he just did. Throw that pass inside hitting a receiver on the run. Gino going to hand it to Genty and he’ll get up to the 43 yd line. 92 yds for him on the ground now as he has been terrific here this afternoon. And that’s a nice pickup of a first down on that second down run. And at that yardage gain, they can run that plan any down. Throwing now is Gino. That’s caught. It’s Dante Thornton. They’ll wind up getting seven on the play. And that’s going to bring up second down. One of the things you’re hoping for when you run drag routes, you’re able to hit a receiver in stride and he can pick up a lot of yardage after the catch. But in this situation, the defense was effective. Able to stop him before he can get a good head of steam going. Up the middle. It’s Jensy and nothing doing. He’s immediately taken down at the line of scrimmage. It’ll be a loss of a yard and that’s going to lead to a third and four coming up. I thought he did a nice job there setting an edge and making sure nothing could get to the outside, but he decided that wasn’t enough for him. Worked his way back inside and made the tackle on the ball carrier from the gun on third down. Smith nowhere to go here. He lost the football. Jayen Carter offensively lucky there able to keep the football but now fourth down so they’ll have to boot it away. I do think though they’re going to look at this as a positive. One they recovered the fumble so they retain possession but two being able to punt it changes field position for them. Imagine if that turnover takes place there. Now your defense has to go onto the field and try and hold. Instead they get a little breathing room. Here’s AJ Coell as he’s on to punt for Vegas and he’ll get this away into the icy winner air and he couldn’t get it to check up. That kicks all the way into the end zone for a touchback. So here are the Eagles now as they get set for their first possession of the second half. Herz and the Eagles come up here. First and 10 at their own 20 yd line. They’ll try and start this drive in the air. He’s got Smith here. Nice way to start the drive. A gain of 12 and a first down. A gain of 12 yds and an Eagles first down. First and 10 at the 32 yd line. [Applause] And it’s complete right back in the hands of Smith. That’s good. The completion there for seven yds. And that’ll bring up second down. Brings up second and three at the 39 yd line. [Applause] a hand off to Barkley and he’ll go down right around the 47 this time. That one a first down pick up of eight. That was a good nice crisp run for a first down. I wonder if the defense might have been loosened up a little bit. maybe anticipating a pass instead of the run that they got. So, a solid run by Saquon Barkley. And another first and 10 here. And they’ll give him another shot here on the ground. And this will be taken across midfield and into Raider territory. Give him nine on the carry that time. And they’re set up with a second and one. Well, you certainly have to give a little credit here because they are playing this game now at their pace. This is ball control football. Sustained runs, taking their time and making it work. They’ll bring the tight end in motion right here. They’ll go to Barkley again. Oh, nice move and good space to operate there as he takes this down inside the 35 yd line. 89 yds rushing now for Barkley. It’s a first down. That was good. tough running right up the middle. And if the defense can’t penetrate and make him slow his pace or change direction, that’s often the end result. Throwing is Herz. This short throw caught by Gddard and they’ll get this one down to about the 20 yd line. Backto back nice gains that one for 14 yds and another first. First down. First and 10 at the 20 yd line. [Applause] What a drive this has been. Just chewing up the yardage. And here’s one of their best plays yet as they finally get down into the red zone and look to finish this off with six. He delivers another to Gddard complete. And the Eagles are going to be set up with a first and goal coming up as they get him down at the sixyd line. Just picking up yardage and bunches here these last few plays. They have moved right down the field. And just like that, they’re going to be set up with a first and goal. [Applause] They’ll try and run for it with Barkley and he is into the end zone. Touchdown Philadelphia. Seaquan Barkley. A sixyd touchdown run as his guys are able to extend their lead. Well, this offensive line has really stepped up to the challenge here because those mastadons, they’ve been sensational clearing holes all game long. And this is great work down here near the goal line to give their back the space he needs to work his way into the end zone. Elliot on for the extra point and the lead is up to 14. So that drive goes eight plays and it’s capped off by a touchdown run from Saquon Barkley. Now after the touchdown, here’s Elliot on to kick it away and they’ll get him down inside the 30 at the 27. The Raiders offense now they trot back out over on the sideline hoping to hit that reset button between possessions. Last time out they had to punt it away this time. Hoping to finish this thing off in the end zone. Looking to put a drive together. They’ll start by running the option to the right. He’ll be hit down at the 33. Five yds on the play. Oh man, that wasn’t far from breaking in a big way into the secondary. read option. Quarterback kept it and while he didn’t get a first down, he did get a nice chunk of yardage. Only a nice tackle prevented it from maybe going all the way. Second down and four. A run straight ahead with Genti and he’ll be brought down shy of the 40 at the 38 yd line. A gain of five. Good enough for the first down. Well, you know, they had a third down play on standby just in case. But he says no need with that carry. Runs like that will continually earn him more work in this and future contests. And they’ll let the quarterback keep it here on first and 10. Only a yard on the keeper and it’ll be second down. Anytime you decide to use your quarterback as a runner, most of the time when you design a play, you’re expected to break a little bit bigger than this one. Because when you run him on short gains, your riskreward and him taking hits, I’m not sure that’s the payoff they were looking for. Now a hand off to Genty and he’ll be brought down just shy of midfield at the 49 yd line. 106 yds rushing for him now as he’s run it 11 times. Man, these guys may not win this ball game, but you certainly can’t fault the effort of this man here today. He’s been a real thorn in their sides all afternoon. And that last carry puts him over the hundredyd mark. They’ll try the air now with Smith. They’ll try and set up the screen to Genty. They showed off a nice juke of the defender before the next wave could bring him down. A good first down call as a screen play gets him nine. And good yardage there on first down because sometimes all you need to do on the screen is get one key block that might set your man free. And that was pretty good pursuit to the football defensively or it could have gone for more. Here’s Smith and his throw’s going to be incomplete. Fair to say hasn’t been his best game throwing the football, but also not get a lot of help out there either. Yeah, you kind of you nailed it pretty well. You know, he’s got to throw it better. Got to get more help. Obviously, one that should have been caught. They’ve got to find a way to bring those those two elements together so they can make some progress in this one. They’ll try to run for it with Jensy and not going to be able to push this forward. He runs into a wall right at the line of scrimmage. He needed two. He got one. And that’s going to leave him with fourth down and a yard. Not too many offenses want to turn down long drives, but when you’re down what they are, they’ve got to pay it off with some points. Here’s AJ Cole now as he’ll put it away for the fourth time today. [Applause] And they won’t get a chance to bring this one back. It goes out of bounds back near their own 20. 23 the Eagles offense and their quarterback ready to go once more. And he’s been a nightmare to scheme against throughout this one. This defense has been totally taken apart and that is borne out in his numbers. He’s been terrific all game long. Already at the line, this Philly offense set to go. That last drive, it was a good mix. run, pass, run, pass, defense on their toes. And what really helps out in a big way is when you’re doing the run pass mix and everything’s working. That means that they’re guessing wrong every time on defense. They think you’re going to pass when you run and vice versa. I would continue that. And when they finally draw a beat on you, maybe you mix it up a little bit, a little play action and throw the ball. And will they maintain that balance? Time to find out. Here’s a give to Barkley. Even with that broken tackle, can’t get very far. Stops short of the 30. Five yards. Now it’s third and five. And that last carry puts him right at 100 yards for the game. So, how has he done it? Because he’s been patient. Followed his blocks, let everything develop, and then burst through for big gains. From the gun, it’s Herz. He’ll try and do this himself. Yeah, they get him down, but not before he takes it across the 40 yd line. Hurts dangerous when he runs that football. He’s got a first. At this point, this offense feels like they could just roll out anything and it would work. They are certainly in no hurry for this one to end. Not when they can rack up some stats and continue to add to their lead. Bert sets up to throw it. And this nearly an interception, but it’s incomplete. A turnover really would have helped him there, but not to be. Chin on the cover. And that could have been the lifeline they needed. This is a play that could have been made. Instead, it’s just going to fall incomplete. Second and 10 now. Third quarter action from Philadelphia, PA. hurt. And this throw incomplete now. The defender all over him that time, but it’s going to lead to third down. And partner to me, that one was all about timing. If he’s there too early, it’s going to be a pass interference call. If he’s too late, it’s a completed pass. He was Johnny on the spot on that one. So, backto back incompletions. And that has him staring at a third and 10. They’re going to look to throw. And this pass broken up. The contact well timed there. And now fourth down. One first down here. And that’s all folks. Good work by this defense to hold things in check and force a punt situation. The Eagles send out their punter now as he’ll kick it away for the second time. Oh, this is off the side of his foot. And the punt goes out of bounds. Where will they put it? They’ll put it just inside the 45 yd line. The Raiders offense and their running back getting set to go once more. And you have to imagine this defense saying, “How do we stop this guy? He has run rough shot through him to this point in the third quarter. The Las Vegas offense ready to start this next drive. And really, Charles, not much of a surprise that they’re losing. They just haven’t been able to get much of anything going in the pass game. And as you well know, in today’s NFL, if the passing game isn’t working, usually not much else is working either. Exactly right about that, partner. And I know that right now the easy answer would be, hey, let’s run the football. But that might not be everything you need. So despite the fact that they’ve struggled throwing it, they’ve got to find some type of a play, multiple plays that puts the ball in the air and allows for them to have some success. Completes this one to Thornton and he’ll be taken down across the 50 at the 45 in enemy territory. Second catch for him today and it’ll wind up a first down. That’s good for a Las Vegas first down. A gain of 14. And Las Vegas first down. On first down, it’s Genty and maybe a measure of revenge there. He’s had his way in this one, but this time they get him behind the line. We have played three quarters. We’ll return with more after this. You’re watching the NFL Sports. And welcome back. We are in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia. It’s Raider football here, but they’re on the short side of the scoreboard right now as we begin the fourth. After the loss, they’ll come up second and 13. Back to throw. Smith got his man. It’s Thornton and he has another first down as he’ll get the ball down to the Eagles 33. 14 yds is the pick up there and a Raider first. Raider first down. A gain of 14. First down Raiders. Good yardage on the completion there. And when they look at the scoreboard, they do understand a field goal is not going to do them any good. My guess, they’re going to press the ball downfield as far as possible, try and throw it into the end zone and get a score because they know they’ve got to get that done and get the ball back as quickly as possible. Now it’s Smith and his throw here’s incomplete. And not a common sight at least on this drive. A momentary setback though for this passing game that has been moving well this series. Good thing for them though. Still two more downs to connect and try and pick up another first down. Smith an incomplete pass on first down. Now it’s second and 10. Looking to throw and this one incomplete. Threw it down at the feet of his receiver. I’m not quite sure how to judge that one. Maybe didn’t have enough legs underneath him. Mechanics might have been off. Maybe some fatigue. That one came up short. Yeah. Fourth quarter. Maybe you do start to watch as the arm there, the legs still there. This has been a tough game. The Raiders on third down. They’ve converted just two for six thus far. This is third and 10. Smith throwing again. He’s going to let this go back of the end zone and that will be incomplete. Well, they weren’t scared to let it fly, but it falls to the ground and brings up fourth down. When you’re leading in the final quarter, your radar has to be up for any potential deep shots. And probably not the last one they’re going to see in this game. Not as long as they hold this lead. Carlson on for the field goal. A 50 yd attempt. Carlson able to put this one through. And that will get the disadvantage. Now back down to 11. These kickers now. It used to be that a 50 plus y was caused for celebration. Now seemingly automatic. Yeah. Isn’t it funny when we prepare for a game when you look at the backgrounds of these kickers? It’s interesting, isn’t it, to find out they were all state quarterbacks, receivers, defensive backs, all state wrestlers, right? Baseball players. We’re finding athletes all along and now they’re just specialists putting it through the post after the made field goal. Carlson sets up to kick this away. Oh, now how about this return? Solid return. Pretty good field position. They’ll start at the 32. Philadelphia getting sent to take the field. There are two scorers on the plus side. Still time here in this fourth quarter, but maybe you start thinking about playing keep away. Yeah, I think here’s the situation. You’re not thinking touchdowns anymore. You’re just thinking first downs to keep up with your theme there. Playing keepaway. First downs. They can’t touch the ball. Hurts. And the Eagles come up here. First and 10 at about the 32. They’ll motion the tight end across the formation. He’ll drop it off with Saquon Barkley. He had to fight that time. Ran through one tackle, but ultimately he’s only going to get back to the line of scrimmage. We talk about defenders, specifically linebackers, keeping their eyes in the right spot. He had that eye down the entire time. And you know, that’s not easily done because they throw a lot of misdirection at you. They try and fool you and get your eyes in the wrong place, but you’re right about that one. He correctly figured that one out and made a really nice play. Yeah, they were looking to set up the screen, but that’s going to be incomplete. Almost wound up going the other way. Well covered defensively and it’ll bring up third down. Backed up here. tough spot needing 11 yardds to pick up the first. Out of the gun now on third down. And that is incomplete. Critical play in this football game because if they pick up the first there, that clock keeps rolling. Has to be a little frustrating for them because they know that they pick up a first down there and continue to eat away at the clock really increases their chances of closing this one out. Now they’re likely going to have to give the football up and sweat it out on the sideline. On is the punter man as he boots this one away and the punt will kick out of bounds and it’ll be spotted inside the 30 yd line. The Raiders offense and their running back getting set for this next possession. And it’s hard to believe you could run the ball a whole lot better than he has. The vision, the cutback ability, the acceleration, it’s all been on display throughout. The Raider offense set to get this drive started. Their defense was able to force the punt. That’s the good news. But this is still a two-score game and they need points on this drive and in a relatively quick manner. This possession means so much for them. They’ve got to focus on this drive and find a way to make this a one possession game. Got to get a score. Yeah. So good with a field goal. Don’t necessarily need a touchdown from the 31. Here’s second and five. Now a play fake and it’s Smith looking for Lockett and he’s got him working his way free across the middle and he’ll be taken down but not before they work it across midfield. Vegas. Good work after the catch going to net him 23 in a first. At the 46 yd line. Well, every drive from here out is definitely crucial and critical. They know that they need to get at least three here to get it back to a one-sore game, but I can’t imagine that in their huddle that they’re thinking at all about getting a field goal. They want to get into the end zone and then try and get the ball back again. Now Gino a throw here right sideline falls incomplete. Got to give out a little applause on that play. It has to go to the defense. More good work by them. They’ve taken away the passing lanes all game long. And you can see the frustration that it’s causing because he just about threw that one into the first row. Smith an incomplete pass on first down. Now it’s second and 10. Gino out to throw. He’s got it at the 15 and he’s brought down after a very nice game. 31 yd. It’ll go as an impressive 31 yd gain. First down. A gain of 31 yds. First down Las Vegas. And here’s a spot where this offense says we got to start making something happen. We’re down two scores. It’s the fourth quarter. We’ve got to start moving with some urgency. And here’s a big play that gives them a ray of hope that they can get back in this one. Throwing again as Smith. This is caught. Touchdown. Tyler Lockin, his second touchdown of the afternoon. And the Raiders have made it a one-score game again here in the fourth. I know Paul River talked about by land or by sea, right? You know, one by land, two by sea. He didn’t mention air because right now we’re seeing a big time performance, aren’t we? That’s two touchdowns so far in this game. Where’d you pull that one from? And you know, every now and then I actually listened in history class and you you’re just a scholar all the way around. You’re reading all the time. I like that you fit that into the broadcast. You know, I just grab a nugget when I can. The Raiders will line up for the They’re going to try and run, but he will not get in here. He’s stopped up short of the goal line and this will remain a five-point game. You know, we’ve discussed this before and we’ve seen it at practices. Extra periods being put in for the offense on these two-point tries, but the defense, they’re beefing up their support as well in practice. They absolutely have to. If people are going to go for two and try and gain those advantages and make it tougher on your team as the game goes along, you have to be in a position to stop those. You can’t let them get the advantage. So, yes, the defensive teams, they’re putting in that extra time on two-point plays as well. [Applause] following the touchdown. Ready to kick it away is Carlson and he takes this near the 25. Just a little pass there. Called it the 26. First, the Eagles coming out as they get ready for their lead back down to one score after the touchdown a moment ago. First downs a must on this drive as they start out here first and 10. Looking to put a drive together. And they’ll begin by running the option and maybe the wrong read there as he’s going to go down immediately. Hustling through to break that play up. Max Crosby. Well, he’s had success running the football in this one. That’s undeniable. But that time the defense was on to it. And partner, I think the more you see a play like this, the more they’re able to diagnose it quicker and easier for them to defend it. I think you have to dress it up a little bit and show maybe some different formations and looks. And he takes us beyond the 35 before going out of bounds. Hurts connecting there with Brown for the Eagles first. Eagles first down. First and 10 at the 37 yd line. From the shotgun, he’ll look to throw. his throw incomplete. That’s a defensive coordinator’s got to be happy with that result. They took away all options downfield and forced the incompletion. Now a second and 10. [Applause] Here’s Herz to throw. This short throw caught by Gddard and he slips up past the 45 before being tackled. These two have hooked up nine times now this afternoon as they pick up the first. Misdirection is the key on this play. They line up with three receivers to the opposite side of the tight end. And they’re all going to work their way across the field and let the tight end slip underneath against blow the other way. They’re banking that he can get lost. And that’s exactly what happened as they pick up a first down. And he’s got this down to the 35. 17 yds on the catch and run. It’s a first down. That’s another Eagles first down. These guys are running offense like you drive. The pedal is down. Stomp down. How about that? Backto back completions. They are rolling. So much for being conservative and running that football. So here’s a first and 10 now in Raider territory at the 35 yd line. They’ll stick with the passing game as he looks to throw. And he’s going to get seven out of this before being taken down at the 27. Well, this has certainly been a nice drive, but the way they spread the football around here, they even get the fullback involved in the passing game. That’s got to cause a lot of consternation on the defensive side. You’ve got to cover him, too. That makes things really difficult. They’ll get that one out quickly to Brown and AJ going to pick up an Eagles first down as he’ll get it down inside the 25. And they keep those sticks moving forward that time with a gain of three. First and 10 at the 24 yd line. A first down carry for Barkley and able to get him down, but he does reach the five. That burst good for 20 and a first down. And an Eagles first down. And that’s the type of run that they’re looking for because they’ll need to continue to rely on him to move the sticks in this tight game in order to preserve this lead. They keep it with Barkley on first down and maybe a measure of revenge there. He’s had his way in this one, but this time they get him behind the line. That’s going to go as a loss of two and it’ll be second down. That’s a really alert defense there because they saw the heavy look come in from the offense. Countered it with extra linebackers who brought a little bit of speed and heft and able to really make a big time play for their defense. Second down and goal. Herz and he’s going to go down. Sacked right around the 17. He’ll wind up losing 10 there. A full 10 yards. So that one hurts. And it brings up third and goal. This is a little hard for me to compute because I’m watching sack after sack happen, but somehow they’re still behind in the game. I would expect all of this defensive pressure to translate to them taking a lead, and thus far it hasn’t happened. Time’s winding down. They don’t want to waste this type of performance from these ace pass rushers. A lot of tired bodies on that field, but this is a big play. Third and goal. Back to throw here. And a throw there going to be incomplete. AJ. So decision time now cuz a field goal keeps it a one-sore game. What are you thinking? Well, I’m looking at the down and distance and that’s where the issue comes in. It’s not short enough that it’s a no-brainer and you go for it. You have to analyze this one. To me, you take the field goal, take the points, I don’t think you want to risk coming away with nothing. The kick by Elliot is good and that’ll push the lead up to eight. From a defensive perspective though, I think maybe they’re saying, “Hey, we did what we needed to do. Kept this a one-sore game.” Yeah, without a doubt because they were able to bleed some time off the clock, right? put themselves in a good position, but it’s not out of reach yet. Okay. Being able to hold them to a field goal means that they do have a chance to come back and win this game. after the field goal. Here’s Elliot to kick it away and he’ll take it up past the 25 to the 26 yd line. The Raider offense now making their way toward the huddle. And remember, despite giving up the field goal, this is still a one-sore game. They’re in need of the touchdown and a two-point conversion. A field goal on this drive likely doesn’t do them much good. looking to put a drive together. Here’s Smith looking left side and he’s got a man. That’s Thornton. That’ll go for a gain of seven. And that will bring up second down. and his play caller does a nice job of giving him an easy throw to start this drive and he takes advantage of it. The completion sets up a manageable second down. Here’s a second and three now from the 33. Throwing now is Gino. That’s complete yet again to Thornton and they bring him to the ground just shy of midfield. Fifth catch of the afternoon and that gives him a first down. And that’s a much needed first down right there. Look, they’re down by eight. So Logic says they don’t have to get a touchdown out of this drive. But the way things are going, I don’t know if I’d put it in the hands of my defense here, you might not get the ball back at all. So if a fourth down situation comes up, I’m thinking hard about going for it right here and right now. Slant route and he finds Thornton. And that’s good for a gain of six and it’ll be second down. Nothing fancy on first down, but a very consistent type of a play. Hit that slant. A lot of people call it an extension of the running game. And it can be if that pass is completed cuz you hit a guy on the run like that, you often can go for big yardage. Sets him up nicely for second down. Staying ahead of schedule. Throwing is Smith over the middle complete. It’s Bowers and he has another first down as he’ll get the ball down to the Eagles 31 yd line. He’s certainly done a nice job spreading the field on this drive. And here he finds his big tight end for good yardage. And that’s what you have to do. Keep defenses guessing about where you’re going to go with the football. Fourth quarter down to the final two minutes and we’ve got a one-sore game. So it’s Raider football as we get you reset. They come up on a first and 10. desperately needing a score here on what could be their final drive. To throw is Smith. That’s to Bowowers once again. And he is out of bounds inside the 30. I don’t care what sport you’re playing. Everyone likes to build up a little momentum, don’t they? And look at this. Backto back completions to the big target at tight end. That one not as profitable as the other, but still a decent game. Now second and four. Here’s Smith. Throw left side pulled in by Tucker. The Raiders going to use one of their timeouts. 11. And as the two teams talk it over on their respective sidelines, we take a break. A gain of 11 on the play. First down, Raiders. [Applause] Plenty of time and two timeouts still at their disposal. First and 10 here. Smith to throw. Looking endzone, but it’s incomplete. They took their shot for the end zone. Almost cost him and he made the right play there, knocking it away, but boy, it looked like he had a chance to come down with the football. And if he does that, this thing is over. Instead, he leaves him out there with another chance again from the 15. Second and 10. Smith’s going to throw it. And this a quick slant to lock it. And the Raiders are going to have a first and goal as the tackle is made at about the five. Brandon’s okay what they’re doing right now. Still able to work the middle of the field, but you know, sooner or later they’re going to have to stop the clock. Now first and goal. Smith and this is caught. Touchdown Raiders. Brock Bowers from four yds out. And the Raiders have a chance to tie things up as they trail by two here in the fourth. The touchdown is huge, but the focus now is on the two-point play. I don’t want to say they have a cushion here, but if they don’t get it, they still have a chance for outside kick. Yeah, they would need some big time help. But you’re right, there would be a shot, but the focus right now on that two-point conversion. [Applause] And now the Raiders will face an important two-point conversion attempt here. The Raiders will line up for the two. They’re going to try and run for it and he’s not going to get there. The defense able to come up with a big stop and they’re going to hold on to their two-point lead. [Music] Let’s go. [Applause] So down only two now. still a chance to finagle their way into field goal range if they can get this onside kick and that’s why you have your hands team out there on the field. Those are the best guys ready to make that play. And let’s face it, it was executed well. It wasn’t a bad kick. It wasn’t anything like that. Just that the normal outcome actually came to play. Analytics would tell you it’s a very low possibility of getting the ball for the team kicking it in onside kick situation. You’re all about the numbers, aren’t you? All about the numbers, baby. It’s a new game now. They don’t lie. Here’s the Philadelphia offensive unit now as they head out to take over possession. And checking the timeouts. They do have two defensively, but no real need to use them as they’re not going to be able to stop the clock after that. We got to have two hands on the football here as they run on first down. Now the Raiders going to go ahead and use the second of their timeouts as they’ll head to the sideline and talk over what to do next. I like the call there because that was one to take time off the clock and get them closer to getting out of here with a W. In the mind of the play caller, all you want to hear is tick tick tick. So, second and nine. And you’d have to figure just about all 11 probably crashing the line here. That one looks like he’ll throw here. And this one incomplete. Too much contact to hold on to that one. And it’s third down. It’s another zone defense. It looks like it’s open for possibilities, but they did a nice job patrolling the middle of the field and forcing an incompletion. The first down line at the 34 here on third down. Throwing from the gun. It’s hurt. And this one complete to Smith. Now the Raiders going to burn their third and final timeout as they’ll head to the sideline and talk over what to do next. The Eagles send out their punter now as he’ll come on to kick this one away. And here’s a very low line drive. Almost whiffed on it. And good hustle here as this is going to be blown dead right at the 9 yd line. at their own. So, here is Gino Smith and the Raiders down by two. A little over a minute to go. A field goal would be a gamewinner as they come up on first down. Smith now to throw. That’s caught by Tucker. Complete to Trey Tucker. A gain of five brings up second and five at the 14 yd line. Here comes second down and five. Smith. Oh, and that’ll be incomplete. He took a shot as he let that go. And it’s going to bring up a third down. We’ve seen this quite a few times in this game. Offensive line unable to keep leverage, unable to keep people away. Facing a lot of pressure. Fortunate, fortunate just to get rid of it. One of the reasons they’re down is that inability though to stop the pressure. We saw another example of it there. Now it’s Smith working the middle of the field and he’s got a man complete and they will get the conversion on third down, but the clock a more pressing factor. And here we are in the fourth quarter, partner. And watch him drive for what would be a go-ahehead touchdown. And you and I both know this is where you need a quarterback who can keep his cool back there, not just for himself, but to keep the rest of the team relaxed, too. Now, that’s to the left sideline and incomplete. So, after all of this, it comes down to one final play. And just think of what it’s going to be because from this distance, you’ve got to be prepared for everything. Hook and laterals, tip balls, you name it. A lot of laterals after a catch. Just got to be prepared. Stand on your feet defensively and tackle someone. Now a desperation throw deep downfield that’s caught inside the 20 and he is taken down deep in Philadelphia territory. That was a long shot but they did get one final chance to try to score and overcome this small deficit. No touchdown though, Charles. And that brings this one to a close. Yeah, I think Hope was wearing one jersey and Worry was wearing another on the other sideline as that final snap played out. Now, we’ve seen some incredible plays to win games before, but in this case, I think the distance was just a little bit too great for it to happen here. So, that’ll just about do it for Charles Davis. I’m Brandon Gordon. You’ve been watching the NFL on EA Sports. For more, log on to eports.com. The Eagles are winners here, as we say. So long from Philadelphia. [Music]
