John Harbaugh: ‘We Need to Go Win’ | Baltimore Ravens

um by offering condolences to the family of the Popek family for the passing of Woody Poppik, our longtime stadium announcer DJ who uh does a did a great job for all those years. Our stadium uh is is alive and full of energy thanks to thanks to Woody and people like Woody and we just really appreciate we appreciate him. We appreciate his family and we offer our heartfelt condolences for their loss. What questions you have, John? Um, specifically on offense. I mean, you brought pretty much the same cast of guys back from from last year. Just not having the same consistency on offense as last year. H how do you try to get that that consistency back to the offense? Just keep chasing it. Keep chasing it every day in practice and meetings and and try to try to find it during the game on Sunday. bringing in Lake Thomasson, the thought behind that and kind of your first impressions and is there a path for him to get elevated accurate? Yeah, we’ll have to see where it goes. I’m just kind of getting to know him. He he played obviously great career uh long time uh you know, very physical, tough, you know, hard-nosed player. Had a chance to speak to him this morning. What a great conversation, great great great man, family man. And had played some football this year, you know, had played quite a bit. So, uh, we’ll see, uh, how quickly it gets up to speed and kind of how it falls in with what we’re doing. Coach, I know you referenced Lamar’s table on Monday. Just the rest day today. N rest day, right? Yep. John, going against Jamar Chase, uh, you know, what’s what’s the key to to slowing him down because I mean, a lot of a lot of teams don’t struggle with that. Yeah, he’s he’s he’s pretty good. Pretty good. You heard about him. I’ve heard about him. He’s not bad. Uh, and not just not just Jamar. I mean, they’ve got heck of an offense. I think you’d look at, you know, what they’ve done, what they’ve really done all year, but obviously, especially when when Joe Burrow’s out there, uh, they had another big game this last week in in Buffalo, uh, Cincinnati Buffalo. It was a shootout. So, uh, they do a lot of good things. I mean, they’re they’re he’s accurate. He moves around the pocket. He finds Jamar. Uh they’ve got plenty of other tal, you know, talented guys on offense that they that they find with their their passing game. They run the ball downhill. Uh it’s going to be a big challenge. John, I know we asked about Emory Jones on Monday, but is is the plan still to try to sprinkle him out there in the rotation form that it was before? You mean two weeks ago? No, it’s not the same plan as that right now. No. Um guys, bring in Carl Jones. um just what Carl Jones what you’ve kind of seen from him and and role he can fill. Yeah, Carl that was a pickup was was really good and timely for us. You know, we’ve kind of been through two linebackers now uh special teams and and then uh Carl becomes available guy we played against a few weeks ago. He’s he’s a young uh very effective special teams linebacker in this league and uh had a chance to get him out there today in practice and he looked good. uh picked up our stuff really well and uh expect them to be out there playing really well for us on Sunday. Do you think our Darius and James Rob have a chance for this week? I do. I do. Yeah, they practiced today. Practiced well. So, we’ll be uh we’ll be uh we’ll see what happens. Gentlemen, hey, what’s up? Young defensive backs, a lot of spirit. Sean, since I know you you work out here and I know you’re, you know, kind of involved in the training facility stuff side of things. Have you used the immortal chamber that they have set up? The expensive piece of machinery they have with it. The immortal chamber? Yeah. You know what that is? No. What is it? It’s a red light oxygenation therapy that happens. Do they really? I need to find that. Where where spot is it? I mean, I see. It’s all the way in the in the massage. Uh, no one’s made me aware of that yet. I’ll show it to you. Huh? How’s that? That’s a little disappointing. You’ve been hiding it back there. Is that something that you uh partake in? I I did go to one in Northern Virginia to try it out. I can’t afford it. It’s $160,000, but not for a visit, is it? No, I was going to say it. Okay. Pull it in your basement. You know what the heck? Anything else before I bring them into Immortal? How important is it kind of this is the time of year where there’s playoff ramifications flashing with every game and scenarios? You’ve talked a lot about keeping team in the present. How important is that quality right now given all everything that’s kind of swirling about the ramifications and stuff? Oh, it’s critically important. I mean, we ramifications mean nothing. I mean, to say we control our own destiny, that’s only if we win. You have to win to control your destiny. Uh, so that’s what we have to do and it’s it’s been that way the last two weeks and we hadn’t been able to pull off a win. It was that way the previous four weeks and we were able to do it. So, uh, you know, we need to go win. That’s it. You need to win. If you win, then you have a chance to control your destiny. If you don’t, it’s going to be out of your hands. That’s simple as that.
