It has NEVER been more clear…

It has never been more clear as we have multiple huge updates to go over today and in what has been a very interesting day of free agency. One thing has never been more clear and it is surrounding one key player. We’re to write down the latest updates and discuss what it means going forward as there is a lot of new reports. But not only that, we have the Jays making multiple moves, including a new signing and multiple changes to their coaching staff that we’re going to dive into today, as well as some brand new reports that have dropped moments ago surrounding their pursuit of Boba and others. You’re going to want to stay tuned to the end of this video. It is an action-packed episode, folks. But before we get into it all, if you’re a part of the percentage who aren’t subscribed to the channel, this is the place to be for daily Jayce content. Folks, let’s just dive right into Now, there is a lot to go over today and it has been a very busy day in in free agency, but we’re going to start with one thing that has never been more clear. Before we dive into some of the newer reports, let’s start with kind of going over what happened today. Now, in case you missed it, free agent first baseman Pete Alonzo officially signed a 5-year, $155 million contract with the Baltimore Orioles, which leaves the Mets to make a loaded AL East even better. Now, this dropped and there’s been some new reports. dive into some updates and things like that, but it has never been more clear that the Jays need to add a bat because you are now facing an oral team that has a ton of good hitters. Uh I mean, you think about the Boston Red Sox who are heavily involved in the market for Catel Marte among the Jays as well. It has never been more clear who the Jays need to pursue. And it is I mean people are saying it is Bo and Tucker. You see here the tweet kind of blew up a little bit. Toronto Blue Jays muse. He’s saying we need Bo and Tucker. There’s people here saying the good news is that the Orioles are most likely out on Kyle Tucker. The bad news is they now have Pete Alonzo and this is obviously crucial, right? The Jays who make the next move and make it very very calculated because at this point in time they need to go out and get another bat and whether that’s in the form of Kyle Tucker, whether that’s in the form of Bob Bashette, maybe some other guys that we’re not talking about, it is very clear and very evident what this Toronto Blue Jays team needs to do. And let’s dive into some of the new reports that have dropped. Now let’s start with the first one and this was briefly covered last night into this morning but it’s also more relevant now than ever. So this is the latest from Shai or one of the latest from Shai Devidi and Ben Smith. They remain engaged on the front of bigname bats having ongoing discussions with Bob Bashett last week or sorry with Bobette and last week having hosted Kyle Tucker for a visit to their player complex. Perhaps the market starts moving now after Schwarber signed his deal yesterday and Bobette who we’ll dive into later his market is described as strong. So this was dropped by Shidi which is and this was actually dropped before the Pete Alonzo signing. So just keep all of this in mind here now that they’re very involved with Bobette and Kyle Tucker, but it’s clear they need to go that extra mile. And then John Schneider came out this afternoon and discussed actually in fairly solid detail how the meeting went with Kyle Tucker. And you can see from Hazel May saying finally a PDC visit John Schneider can talk about obviously referring to the show Otani time when he was asked and show wouldn’t let anybody speak about their meetings. But I I watched the whole thing you see here from Daniel Francesky. He said, “Very illuminating, can sense the excitement from John Schneider regarding the prospect of Tucker.” And Schneider went on to say, quote, “His skill set fits exactly what we’re doing.” End quote. And I’ll kind of paraphrase what he said. He basically said that they went on visited the facility and Kyle Tucker and the Jays talked a lot about baseball. Kyle Tucker was very impressed with the facilities and the way things looked. And beyond that, he was just impressed with the or overall organization. And from the Jay’s point of view, they obviously love Kyle Tucker. And you can see here Schneider literally said his skill set fits exactly what we’re doing. So we’ll see what happens in the next couple of weeks. This is very encouraging because yes, it’s never been more clear the Jays need a bat, whether that’s Bo or Tucker. But Tucker talked about in this interview according to Schneider in the meeting according to Schneider about his base stealing, about his defense, all things he knows the Jays value heavily, which is very curious now as we start to think about his next set of meetings which are going to be happening this week into next week. There’s a lot of buzz around Kyle Tucker to Toronto. There’s the classic, you know, fake Twitter account saying that he’s already signed there. All these different things. Wait till you hear it from one of the notable reporters. But it is very important to keep an eye out for the Jay’s next move here because they need a bat. It is very very clear, right? It is evident. Now, they’ve been not sleeping at the wheel per se, but you look at Peter Lonzo getting signed, Edwin Diaz being signed, all these guys. The Jays have yet to make their next move, but again, they remain engaged on multiple fronts. And for Bo Bashette, apparently his market is described described as strong with teams viewing him as a shortstop. And the fact that he is a shortstop, you know, obviously increases his market. And he said he’s ready to play wherever. I was just I just want to be ready to help the team in any way that is afforded to me. So that’s very important information as well. That’s the latest on Tucker and Bo. And keep an eye out for, you know, the Kyle Tucker sweep stakes. But there was another article that dropped here from Mitch Bannon a couple hours ago saying that Lucas projects to be the Jay’s starting left fielder unless they sign Kyle Tucker. Straw and Lido are both beloved by their teammates. Bett and Louis Verland both said during the postseason that Straw was the most important player in the clubhouse. So, keeping this in mind, this is of course from a report from Mitch Bannon saying that the Jays are active and that they do not expect to find a taker for the right-handed pitcher Jose Bereos and that one way for the Jays to add a reliever, which if you’ve been keeping up with my videos, is probably their next move, right? It’s their number one priority outside of the big guns of Kyle Tucker and Bobette, who are both kind of harder markets to predict when they’re actually going to be done at this point. But for these guys, you go on to say here, one way is by trading one of their excess players for a reliever. Like I’ve been discussing now for really months on this channel, but weeks, it’s probably going to be Joey Lopeid or Nathan Lucas. But it all depends on what happens with Kyle Tucker. They need one more bat. If you’re Ross Atkins, you cannot see what happened with the Orioles and Pete Alonzo and what the Red Sox are planning to do and what all these other teams, the Yankees, I mean, obviously they’re not going to get any better. Um, or sorry, they’re not any better right now than they were last year, but they could get better. You cannot sit and stand pat, right? You need probably one. You could argue you need both, but I think you need one of Tucker or Bow now, in order to fill that void of, you know, potentially left field. If you get Tucker, you can trade for reliever, and that would open up other possibilities to move. So Joey Loito could be gone. Of course, we’ll have a full video covering this specific instance and we’ll kind of, you know, dive into a bunch of things. But let me know down below what your thoughts are on that. Again, if you missed my video from yesterday, you can see here Morosce said, “And now that Diaz is signed, it’s Mets versus Blue Jays for Robert Suarez, and I expect him to sign with one of those two teams. The Mets missed out on Pete Alonzo. They missed out on Edin Diaz. Are they is Steve Cohen going to come up and pay a ton, a hefty price for Robert Suarez?” That’s the big question. Let’s dive into some of the coaching moves that they have made. So, a couple different things here in the rule five draft today. There were people worried the Jays were going to lose some of their prospects. Johro Panago was one of the ones that was being named throughout the day. They actually ended up selecting somebody and keeping Olivier. So, they kept all their prospects and the Blue Jays have selected Spencer Miles from the Giant system in the rule five draft and didn’t have anyone taken from their system. They had been worried that someone might select outfield outfielder, sorry, select outfielder Johano. And Miles hasn’t pitched much the last few years, missing time to a back surgery or back injury. And Tommy John returned in the fall league from elbow surgery late last year. Topped out at over 98 miles an hour. So this is a very impressive um you know guy here. Is he going to make a huge impact? Ross Atkins and since the GM basically came out and said like they’re hoping to find him a role as a reliever. So keep an eye out for Spencer Miles. We’ll have a full video probably uh you know closer to the regular season kind of breaking down some of these interesting names especially from the you know prospect system and prospect pool but they didn’t have anyone taken from them and they acquired a guy in Spencer Miles which is pretty encouraging. Now beyond that we also had assistant GM Mike Burov kind of talk about what they’re looking at because today is the last day of winter meetings. So they spoke about what they’re looking at heading into the next day and he said they basically covered the most pressing thing which is the rotation and at this point you’re optimistic about the direction of the organization. So that’s important to keep an eye out for obviously and he does say that there could be some moves in the next 24 to 48 hours. So you know pretty important. He said that’s not to say anything that’s not to say anything is pressing or that we’re going to have anything to report in the next 24 to 48 hours but it makes it easier to have conversations with a wide range of players. basically talking about how the organization has went from one that people would clown on them for for not wanting to keep players not wanting to join Canada and join the team to now it is a position of strength players want to join the Toronto Blue Jays whether that be Dylan C saying that he instructed Scott Boris to get a deal with the Jays it’s very encouraging stuff so that’s obviously great news you love to hear that from Mike Murav and keep an eye out for the next 24 to 48 hours he said a deal somewhat could be done in that time frame I mean a deal could be done tonight right as of the time of recording so we’ll keep you up to date every step of the way. One final thing, they’ve they’ve hired a bunch of new people. So, Cody Atinson, Eric Duncan, and Drew Bura. A bunch of new obviously coaches here. Take it from a various team. The White Socks, the Texas Rangers. Now, of course, someone else returning and being promoted rather from the Blue Jays organization and within. So, shout out to each and every one of these guys. Of course, at this point in time, we’re not going to know the big impact that these guys are going to have. We saw it with, you know, following their big big acquisition of Dave Hopkins, who actually won Baseball America’s, I think, coach of the year, assistant coach of the year. Uh, I’m going to trust the Jays with every coach that they sign following the the Dave Popkins scenario. Let me know down below what your thoughts are, folks. Things are really starting to pick up. We’ll keep you up to date every step of the way, and as soon as news drops, this is the place to be. A lot of things are moving right now, so thank you guys for watching. Do it.

  1. Playing MLB The Show 25,while watching this just won a world series ring with Jays 😆 hope next season the Jays win it for real next season and as for Kyle Tucker sign him and Bichette maybe get one more closer to back up Hoffman and we will be set for 2026

  2. Santander better have a good season—I'd even take an average season—in 2026 (30 HR, 90 RBI, .240 BA, .760 OPS, 2.1 WAR). WIth the Phillies (seemingly) off the board, what the heck is Tucker waiting for?

  3. The thing with the Orioles is that signing Alonso did us a lefthanded favour. Look at Alonso's career stats vs. the Blue Jays vs. Ryan Mountcastle's, albeit with a much smaller sample size. Outside of last year when the Orioles as a team imploded, Mountcastle has straight-up wrecked our staff over the years. Even with last year's downturn, Mountcastle hit to the tune of a .923 OPS with 19 HR and 53 RBI in 72 games. Now the Orioles just need to send him to the National League to keep him as far away from us as possible.

Spencer Miles is the Ross Atkins dumpster diving special. He's essentially trying to find lottery tickets. Older prospect, hasn't ever made it past A-ball, coming off of TJ. The best-case scenario is that he ends up being a solid middle reliever in that "1-2 inning guy that pitches effectively to the 5-9 spots in the order and may be called on in emergencies to face the top of a lineup."

  4. I can hardly believe it. Once again the Blue Jays have not signed anyone since Crease. It has never been more clear that Nick has wasted almost 10 minutes to say nothing.

  5. Trade Berrios and Bichette to SF GIANTS.

  6. WTF!!!! This Offseason is Off to a terrible start . We better sign BOTH BO AND KYLE TUCKER. Maybe players don't like the taxes and travel and my fandom is blinding me. Sucks that making to the world series is not attracting talents like Diaz or Suarez. I just can't picture Tucker signing with us unfortunately.
