Can we steal Joey B and give him a fresh start?

  1. Sounds like he’s about to Andrew Luck it? Would he want a fresh start in Pittsburgh, and have the desire to beat up on the team that took the fun out of football for him?

  2. Burrow definitely has “it”. But he is doomed to play for the Bungles.

I think almost any franchise would love to have him as their qb.

At the current time I hope he continues to lose and cry (nothing personal though).

  3. I think if he became available there would be a lot of teams interested in getting him and I can’t see the Bengals ever trading him to us when other teams want him.

  4. I mean… holy hell that would be a coup. We would definitely need to protect him, but with the defense (it would be better with him being able to sustain drives and keeping the D fresh more)… I could see us as an immediate SB contender…

  5. Just goes to show some franchises will never be successful under certain ownership like the Jets or Bengals. Even if they get superstar players they end up miserable.

I’m sure whatever their asking price is it would be double for us, it’s fun to think about but no one should get their hopes up. Though the Browns DID trade Flacco mid season so I won’t say it’s 0% of happening despite being close to that number.

  6. They would never trade him to us. It only happens if he demands his release, and even then he might want a team with an up to date offensive scheme.

  7. Well IF he became available via trade, the Bengals are a massively difficult team to negotiate with, and we are literally the last team they’d want to send him to. You do the math. For him to be a Steeler he’d need to sign as a free agent, which will likely never happen for the rest of his career.

  8. I wonder what would happen to other superstars on that team. Would Burrow leaving also immidiately cause other big names there to search for new spots? Chase, Higgins, and Brown would all certainly be names other teams would want. If I was the Bengals, I would burn it ALL to the ground and rebuild.

  9. No way Burrows is traded to anyone in the AFC/N. Just nope. Would love to have him but I just don’t see it.

  10. Even if they were willing to trade him, I bet they would take a hit in value just to not trade him to us.

  11. There is precisely zero chance. I think there’s virtually zero chance that the Bengals trade him regardless, but even in that hypothetical world, there would be many other suitors, who would probably offer more than we would be willing to.

And even in the *astronomically* low eventuality where they’re trading Burrow *and* we’re the team offering the biggest deal, I have to imagine that the Bengals would be unwilling to ship him to a division rival, no matter the price. They would accept a lesser deal from another team to ensure he doesn’t end up elsewhere in the AFC North.

  12. Would be too expensive to get him from the Bungles. Plus they wouldnt ever trade him in the same division.

Thirdly, we cant just wait for his contract to end since he is signed until 2029. Theres no chance we would ever get Joey B.

  13. We can’t afford him, they would never trade him to another AFCC team and why would he ever want to come here and be subjected to our definition of offense.

  14. Define “steal”.

If he ever becomes available for trade it will take more than what the browns gave up for Watson. That doesn’t seem like a path to a title – especially if they keep Tomlin.

Ok we trade a 1st and Tomlin for him! It’s a nice dream.

  15. People on this sub need to stop lighting up joints and posting in the morning.

This isn’t even a conversation, let alone good enough to be a meme. There is a zero percent chance.

  16. I would trade every draft pick we have next year and TJ Watt for Burrow every fucking day of the week.

  17. Sounds like the most unlikely thing posted here since yesterday when someone joked about Bradshaw coming back to play QB. If, and it’s a huge if, Burrow were traded it would not be in the division. He’d go play for Rams or something
