Khalil Shakir, in an interview to Tim Wood of EssentiallySports, talks about the Patriots game coming up with ‘fewer chances to climb’

  1. Just to be clear, Shakir’s quotes, specifically about “fewer chances to climb” are in reference to winning the AFCE this season, not the capital W “Window” for the Bills.

The article’s title implies this is a “doomer from within the locker room” take, but it’s not. It’s really just looking at the math and the path.

  2. The Bills literally have to win out to have a shot at the AFCE and even then that’s likely not enough. But they can only play one game at a time and they can go from 2.5 games back prior to the Bengals game to if they win this game being 1 game back with 3 to play

  3. Itd be awesome to win the East, but at this point, we just need to seed as high as high as we can. If we’re to make it to the Superbowl, then having a home field against the Texans will be crucial.

  4. the bills path is basically win out, and have the pats lose to the dolphins or jets. that will put us ahead of NE by the conference record tiebreaker at the end of the year.

the pats have the ravens, jets and dolphins left on their schedule after the bills. losing to the ravens does nothing for us in the tiebreaker. they would hold the division record if we both finished with 4 losses.

losing to the ravens THEN losing to the dolphins/jets does give us 1 more loss we can have as long as it’s not to the jets or patriots.

Since the fins are so hot right now our best hope is they can beat the pats after we take care of business this weekend.

  5. From what it looks like Houston could have the 7 seed, I’d rather not face them so losing the east for the pats to face them and we get either Jax or maybe Steelers is better imo

  6. I get that winning the AFCE shows that we’re still the top dogs and the team to beat.

But honestly, what has it done for us? For me personally, I don’t care about winning the AFCE. I care about going to and winning the big one.

  7. We literally have to beat the living hell out of the Patriots to ruin their mentality so they’ll lose their next following games. Beat the snot out of them so bad that Diggs and Mack will beg to come back. Right off the kick off, kick them in them in the nuts and or punch them in the mouth and set the tone the rest of the game, make them respect us. Remember when Gilliam laid the Boom and they fumbled on the kick off in the Jets game 2 years ago in NY? FYI They were disrespectful to the Giants and were head hunting them.

  8. I do not think the Patriots are a better team than us, but the fact is, we blew it with a stupid loss to them and any of our other losses, while if you wanna say they have an easy schedule, they handled business.

Still, the division is back on the table if we win Sunday though, however slim it may be. I can’t believe the year we might get a playoffs without Burrow, Lamar, or Mahomes is the first year with all of those guys competing we probably blow the division.

  9. Bills need this win.  This is after their bye week i think?   Hopefully they are disoriented bc the run D is suspect.   Im okay with the “bend not break” but if we could just keep their score in the teens that would be great.  Imagine the browns D and the bills offense on one team.
