Tyrese Maxey leads the NBA in minutes (39.9), and nobody has averaged 40 for a full season in 15 years.

  1. Being able to play these minutes at this level is a skill just like anything else. I really hope he can get his minutes down, but he averaged: 35, 34, 38, 38mpg throughout his career so far (ignoring his rookie year.)

If he can get to like 36 that would be a dream.

The minutes and workload are a big reason that a lot of the talking heads are considering him not just an All-NBA player this year, but in contention for first team (see: latest Bill Simmons pod, who has him over Brunson and Cade at this point.) He’s critical to this team’s “success” so far. And despite the workload, a joy to watch both on and off the court.
