Ever since Schwarber signed, I've been thinking that signing Polanco and trading for Lowe makes a ton of sense. This is the first time I've seen the Pirates linked to Suarez though.

  1. I’m curious why I haven’t seen Adolis Garcia mentioned anywhere, he’d be a solid fit too.

  2. Breaking News: Ben Cherington gets confused and signs Pitcher José Suarez and Outfielder Gregory Polanco thinking that’s who fans were begging for.

  3. I’m not believing sir until this guy’s are actually signed.

They’re talking a big game this off season, they just need to follow through now.

  4. I gotta be honest, I don’t want Eugenio Suarez. He seems like he’d be a bad fit in PNC park and is aging out of 3B viability. He overperformed last year and will likely get a big contract as a result of it. I’d legit prefer Lowe and Polanco because I think they’ll be better next year and make more sense for us. I’m just not a fan of Suarez personally and I feel like signing him would be making a move for the sake of making a move rather than trying to make the team as good as possible

  5. How about they go for Lowe, Polanco, and sign Okamoto?

That would solidify the IF and give them some OF help, as well.

  6. I get why peole are skeptical and saying we are doing shit for show, but we really never hear about us in the running for anything. I think its a good sign.

  7. From the least reliable source in sports. I thought this guy’s tweets had been banned in this sub?

  8. After reading this tweet, i’m more skeptical than ever….

All this talk is fine, but if they don’t land at least 2-3 bats (2FO, 1 of the Japanese) nothing will change and they will continue to lose every game 2-1.

  9. I swear I read/heard Polanco doesnt want to come to Pittsburgh because he values winning. Can anybody corroborate this? I cant remember how I came across this info.

  10. To sign Polanco, they will need to offer more years and dollars which will increase the cost for Lowe. It will be a very Cherington move to overpay for Polanco and be forced to offer a significant package for Lowe. I will consider it a luxurious problem to have if it comes to pass.

  11. I don’t believe they will sign any of these players or make any trades anyone likes. I’ve been burned way too many times before.

  12. I mean Suarez would be a fabulous pick but I doubt he’s going anywhere now that he was finally back in Seattle
