I would not have given him 3/45, good for the braves. He’s a 35 year old who relies on velocity
It feels like the entire offseason so far is geared around screwing the Mets.
Mets got Carl EdWards Jr at winter meetings isn’t that enough.
Some guys aren’t going to agree to become a setup man
I’m convinced that Stearns is in way over his head. No free agent worth a shit is going to want to play here after you just shipped two productive fan favorites and you’re giving mixed signals, perception of a rebuild but trying to pretend to compete with Soto. Cohen’s money isn’t going to buy everyone when it seems like no one likes Stearns and his shitty “I’m smarter than everyone else” attitude.
Feels like the 2025 season all over again. Swing and a miss after swing and a miss.
How the hell did we go from that magical NLCS run, and then immediately signing Juan Soto, to what now appears to be a rebuild all in the span of just 1 year. Come the fuck on.
Pain.
JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER
Dollar General Mets
The Mets paid more for Devin Williams than the Braves did for Suarez?
I’d take Suarez over Williams in a heartbeat.
What is going on?
I’m going to assume the Mets are being sacrificed so the Knicks can get Giannis
don’t worry guys Carl Edwards is being stretched out to start.
Being 35 OD, I would offer 1-2 years tops.
Don’t worry. Dicky lovelady is here. He’s got it covered.
I don’t know… I’m honestly fine if the Mets want to explore a different roster construction, because the core has failed more often than not. And it’s not like there’s been one specific move that bothered me in a vacuum. But man, the overall demeanor and vibe from the Mets’ front office just feels bad, and it makes every signing and non-signing feel worse.
If they really think they can churn through 170+ relief pitchers every year and still expect consistency and success, they’re out of their mind. It’s just dumb.
And I keep hearing “there’s a lot of offseason left,” but Stearns has passed on pulling the trigger so many times that I’m not convinced we aren’t starting the season with Vientos in a major role, no additional starting pitching, McNeil still playing a big role, and a bullpen where I literally can’t name anyone besides Devin Williams.
This is not how professional sports teams operate. It’s not like Stearns—though I feel like he thinks this—has some secret knowledge or proprietary tool other teams don’t have. That’s just not how this works lol.
Who cares. Wake me up when we find out who the Mets are adding, not who other teams are adding who we may have been interested in. The only
major bomb would be Skubal to Dodgers. The field is wide open for the Mets still.
Can’t believe the Mets couldn’t beat 45M for 3 years.
What’s the cope this time, because I’m running out of copium lol
I was just on a thread full of you all salivating at the idea you can boo Soto this year and then this thread wondering why players won’t sign here
It’s you all. Yall are awful. It will take a lot of money to convince players to play for a fanbase that turns on teams so quickly while also having the spotlight of being in NYC
Let’s just covert Luis Torrens to a BP pitcher and call it a day.
New York budget but Pittsburgh mentality
Guys it’s ok….theres a plan.
The plan is written on a cocktail napkin and sits on the floor crumpled up under a urinal in the Cadillac suite at citi field….but it’s still a plan
Wilpons are back. The options are dwindling and Mets are penny pinching.
Looks like our organization has become persona non grata. They are running from us
Why is this fan base perpetually outraged? You hate trading for a 35 year old.who strengthens the defense at 2B and now you’re all angry because they didn’t sign a 35 year old reliever who is going to have his velocity deminish before that contract ends.
