Leafs make MAJOR moves… Ryan Reaves BLASTS Leafs | Toronto Maple Leafs News
The big news go today is the Leafs have made more moves in ahead of the big game tonight. Breway continues to make some changes, but not only that, we have some huge updates surrounding the injuries. The Leafs have been dealing with and also former Leaf Ryan Reeves calling out the Leafs and revealing the truth behind their what he’s now calling a bit of an ugly departure. Ton to go over on this episode, folks. But before we get into it all, if you’re a part of the percentage or aren’t subscribed to the channel, this is the place to be for daily leaf content. There’s a lot to go over today and obviously the Leafs played tonight. There’s a lot of I mean the Leafs have been playing better hockey as of late, but we do have some updates to go over and we’re going to dive into some of the lineup changes as well. But I want to start with uh some updates for the game. Then we’ll dive into Ryan Rey’s quotes and things like that. But Joseph Wall is officially again today on the ice for the morning skate and this was his first sight since being injured last week. And of course we saw Chris Tanv in a non-cont sweater. So we do have an update on uh on Chris Tan. Craig Rubay came out and said that they are still awaiting results on Tanv. And they asked if there was potential for surgery. And he goes on to say no, not right now. I don’t believe that’s going to be an option right now. So just got to be patient and wait for the results. So this is I mean obviously a plethora of good news in general outside of the TanF thing, but Joseph Wall, he’s going to be back very soon. Craig Rubé said that. And then for Chris Tanv, it doesn’t seem like they’re preparing for surgery, which I mean, I guess they still don’t have the results or they aren’t comfortable sharing the results at this point, which is very notable, but pretty important as we approach a very crucial stretch of play ahead of the uh the Allstar break. Yeah, definitely. And I think, you know, great news that Joseph Wall is back on the ice taking part in morning skate because we did see him on the ice by himself yesterday and he was working on a few things and that is obviously the first step to coming back. But they did say he would probably be out a week. Uh that lines up with playing against Edmonton on Saturday. So, I do wonder if he plays against Edmonton on Saturday, that would be good news. So, we’ll find out. But, you know, he was on the ice for morning skate this morning. That’s good. So, seems like he’s feeling all right. He’s nearing a return. And if it’s not Saturday, hopefully at some point next week, maybe Tuesday. So, that’ll be obviously best case scenario, but we’ll uh we’ll be monitoring that. And then obviously with Chris Tanov, they didn’t get any update in terms of, you know, they don’t have like final results or anything like that. They’re still waiting for that. But, this is an encouraging update for the coach to come out and straight up say like, “We’re not actually, you know, seriously contemplating surgery.” I still think that it is an option based on what Kiprios came out and said that it is something that at least was on the table. But maybe based on something that they know it it’s not leaning that way or maybe they don’t want to lean that way. All of those things. So I guess we’ll find out when we find out later this week when you know they finally they’re not going to release the results or anything like that. But I’m sure we’ll get an idea in terms of timeline that he won’t have to have surgery or anything like that. So I’m going to take this for uh you know face value at what he’s saying. this seems encouraging because I I feel like otherwise, you know, if he did have to go get surgery, he would just they would either announce that or he would just downplay it. So, for him to come out and say that that’s not something they’re considering right now is good news because obviously they want Cristana back in the lineup ASAP. But Christristan’s health is probably, you know, or is and should be first and foremost. So, some good news I think this morning for the Leafs and then obviously we have some lineup changes to get to. Henry Thun is an interesting storyline and of course Ryan Reeves what he said this morning is uh it’s very interesting to me. Yeah. And obviously we’ll we’ll dive into that in a second. Dennis Hillby he is going to be starting tonight. This is now I mean his I believe it’s third yeah his third game in a row that he is starting and this begs the question again when him and Hillbe or when Hillbe uh you know what’s his role going to be once Joseph Wall comes back. I assume that him and Wall will be splitting time. I mean you can’t take him out of the lineup at this point. You look at his games played this season. Nine games um 963 save percentage and I think most of those nine have been starts. Of course he came in once for an injury I believe but he’s going to be starting tonight again. and you’re going up against a Sharks team where if you think previous years an easy win in theory, not the case this year. Mlin Cbrini, all these guys on the Sharks now who are really, really good. You’re going to have to get ready to play. We also saw Morgan Riley on the ice today who missed yesterday’s practice with an illness. And let’s dive into the lines. Now, if you missed our video yesterday, we covered some of the updates. We’ve had some time now to digest it, Darus, and you look at it here. The top line remains the same, but things are getting changed and things are getting changed quickly. So Robertson goes from being healthy scratched all the way up to the second line with William Knander down at the third line. And yesterday we were focusing mainly on the Henry Throne edition which you can see there on the blue line. He’s in the third pairing. But William Knander, we can kind of focus in on that a little bit. That is a huge story line heading into tonight’s game. Knander came out with some quotes and things like that we covered yesterday. But he’s now on the third line with a couple of of veteran players here. Dakota Joshua and Nicola. This is going to be interesting especially in of course Bobby McMahon’s suspension game which is today. Matias Machelli is also out. very notable here to have William Knander I mean demoted I guess to the third line following a pretty disappointing past few couple games and past few weeks really but it’s it’s notable at least. Yeah and last quick tidbit on the goalending situation when Joseph Wald does come back will be sent back to the Marlies and Hilde will be the active backup I think and maybe they might split sometime. I’ve also seen some stuff in the comment sections of our videos and out there on social media that Anthony Stolars is not actually hurt and that he just walked away from the team. That’s not true. If you’re I don’t believe that stuff if you see it out there. If you watch the blueprint, he’s in there taking photos with like the belt and stuff. He’s smiling. He’s hurt right now. He’s hurt and he’s working towards a return. There’s no substance to that. He did not walk away from the team. Don’t believe that stuff if you see that out there. But anyway, uh in terms of the lineup, I I like how there’s a little bit of accountability going into things right now, right? Obviously, in the Babcock days, there was a little bit of, you know, stuff like that where some stars would see time on the third time third line or the fourth line, um maybe be scratched, right? Uh, and of course like the Spetsza thing is completely different than that. But, uh, I feel like some of that is returning a little bit with GrubE the last two years. Like Knander, he hasn’t scored a point in four games. That’s a problem. You get paid a lot of money to do exactly that. And if you’re not doing that and also not playing the best defense, uh, you’re not going to be rewarded for that. So, he gets down on the third line here. Is he going to stay there? I think he can work his way up throughout the game here tonight. I think we can see him again on the second line. But, uh, obviously like Brew was talking about that second line with Cow and Tavvarz and Knander was kind of getting stale. So, Robertson coming back in. We know how he responds after being scratched. So, again, I said it yesterday, if if you’re betting on this game, bet on Robertson to score, I think, tonight because uh that line might get going here with a bit of a spark. So, I think he can work his way back up. He’s going to be getting power play time still, too. Not like the power play really does anything, but um I think it’s interesting that he has actually been demoted at this point. Yeah, and obviously he’s had a great year this thus far. Same with John Travar. He just needs a little bit of a reset. And yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if him and Neander, sorry, him and Robertson change. Maybe him and Cowan change lines a little bit. They try to get Knlander on the top line depending how do he plays. It’s going to be interesting. But let’s dive into some of the Ryan Reeves stuff. And you can see here a pretty big scrum. And Ryan Reeves looks up, Ryan Reeves, sorry, looks up and said, “You would have thought I played eight years here.” And they asked him about if he has any grudges towards the Leaf and he says Leaf, sorry. He says, “No grudges, but that he wished the Leafs would have approached him and he would have appreciated a little more honesty and communication while in limbo last season. They basically said that I couldn’t play in this league anymore.” And then he says, “And I’m back.” back and we’ll dive into the full quote here. I’m very curious to see what you guys think about it in the comment section obviously down below. But we look at his quote here. I think throughout the year, not just a situation, I think there was just some situations that could have been handled differently at the time. I’ve been in the league for 15 years. And he basically goes on to say he would have liked communication. Every team handles things differently and he loves his time in San Jose. More honestly, more communication there. So deers, any thoughts on this? And obviously let us know down below in the comments section. Of course, at this point in time, he’s no longer a Leaf, so it doesn’t really matter. But it is interesting and notable because last year it was a pretty big deal. I mean Ryan Reeves getting scratched. There was some things and rumors behind the scenes about him being upset. Ultimately those were those were correct. Yeah. I thought his comments were very interesting this morning and I don’t want to deep you know dive too deep into them. But uh obviously he was brought in to do something specific. He stopped doing that and then the team told him uh you can’t play in the league anymore if you’re not going to be able to do these things that we brought you in to do. And then they traded him. So, he came out this morning and said, “I wish there was more honesty and more communication.” That sounds pretty honest and like they’re communicating it to you to me, right? Like that that sounds like the Leafs were being very honest. Hey, if you’re not doing these things, like you can’t play in the league anymore and we’re going to trade you. So, I thought that they did do that. So, I thought that comment was interesting. He could just come out and say, “I didn’t like it.” Like, I think we would all be like, “I get it, right?” From a player’s perspective, of course, you don’t want to be told that you can’t play or anything like that and then be traded. But, um, I like Ryan Reeves. I I you know I thought he was a great personality when he was brought to Toronto the stuff with Rempy you know the first when he was first brought in like the fact that he did fight and bring a little bit of that energy to the lineup and there’s that clip of Matthews losing his mind on the bench right from a couple years ago like at the time it was good and I thought it was you know an ideal move and you know things changed right and he stopped doing those things so they moved on and that’s what it is but uh wish him the best in San Jose and it should be an interesting game tonight with his you know the guy he was traded for making his season debut as well and Henry Thun on the back end for the Leafs and Nick I saw him play live on S Saturday. I went to the Marley’s game. He looked awesome in that game. Very cool, calm, composed. He was running a power play as well. So, I’m excited to see what he does tonight in the NHL because he’s played in the NHL before and he’s going to be a little bit sheltered, too. So, I’m excited to see what he does against his former team. Yeah, hopefully you can translate it a little bit, but let us know down below your thoughts are on the Ryan Reeves comments and what you guys thoughts were on his not only comments, but his tenure in Toronto. Thank you guys for watching. See you later.

If you are wondering about the lack of scoring just look at the shots on goal. I am surprised that they are even in the hunt. Berube has to loosen the rains a bit and pinching a gap control are a disaster.
Letting Reaves go was one of the mistakes made by the Leafs and the proof is in how he is playing, how his new team is playing and how the Leafs have looked meek and keep getting their goalies run into. They are back to having no respect or swagger.
Hildabey has a 936 not 963
Hot Take: Nylander will be back on the second line before the end of the second period. 😂
Reavo Hattrick tn and he gets JTs wife pregnant tooonight.
I liked Revo. But I'm happy to see him having success on another team.
Nylander needs to do what he's told!
He costs the leafs goals all the time.
Maybe he's less of a liability on 3rd line.
Genius if you ask me.
The guy won't put himself between the puck and his goalie defensively.
If the leafs lose tonight with willy on the 3rd line it will be the last game berubi coaches.
Wtf is he thinking. Last 5 games they outscored the opponent 18-5 won 4 and dropped 1 single point… was willy supposed to chasing goals???
Why has Matthews not been called out ?
Just because he plays defense that does not make his 13.25M salary worth it.
Matthews needs to be made an example of, he is supposed to be the Captain!
As good as knee lander is offense, he stinks on defense. He never skates hard coming back. And when he does, he slows down and lets the other player get a shot on net.As for matthews, he's not worth the thirteen million. He doesn't hit he skates away from scrums.I would call him out.And I know we're not in the same league as these guys, but if I was a coach, they all want the accolades when they're doing good. But when they stink, they don't want to hear nothing.Well guess what b***** if you stunk this game?I'd be telling you you're stunk, f**** wake up.These guys are grown men
Sooo, Berubé has had enough of Willy-boy? The guy has 32pts and is #8. In his place, the “coach” promotes Domi who has 11 points and sports a big fat -10. I am sure Rose and Yawn Kipper will endorse this move but this non-hockey expert, it is lunacy. Only someone with rocks for brains would do something like this. There is a +18 difference between the 2 players and this makes the Team stronger? Putting Willy with 2 grunts might be very good for them but does very little for him. Out of curiosity, when did Berubé EVER have enough of Captain Courageous? The “Centre” has only 8 assists this year to Willy’s 21a and he’s only played 1 less game. Oh, Willy leads the Team in scoring. What’s wrong with this picture?
If that little prick me- lander even had have of cowboy's work ethic, and gave a shit he could be a dominate.
The Leafs entire season was on the line in columbus, and think about that game. Down 1-0, then cowboy gets the goal, look what happened after that game. No Cowen goal, think about that. Then stars on ice me-lander get it in o.t. Collect a huge deposit for the rest of his time in Tor. and never work a day in your life.
I hold no grudges. Now here's a list of my grudges.
Roy nylander line will get second line minutes tonight
The Roy line is the second line tonight
Reaves sound like a cry baby and not a heart guy he week minded
Reaves couldn't fight worth a damn either
Reaves never did his job (fighting) on the Leafs so he should just keep his mouth shut
