What kind of treatment at the team facility would he be receiving to cause an issue with his lung?

I wonder if he could have been using one of those oxygen pressure chambers and something happened? Just trying to think of what sort of “treatment” leads to a hospitalization for lung injury

For clarification, how does a lung become punctured by dry needling? I mean they’re the size of acupuncture needles, no? What did the med person do…hit the needle head with a hammer? I’m kinda joking but how deep do you have to go before you hit a lung?
And yes, I have many questions. I have this weird need to understand.

THIS is why if you want to release trigger points in a muscle with needles you ONLY go to a fully LICENSED acupuncturist and definitely NOT a PT, Physiotherapist, DO, or god forbid a personal trainer. They have no clue and no real training thus no skills to do it properly and safely!
