Should stir up some [civil] debate?

  1. Yes, debate missing pitchers (Halladay, Roberts, Lidge) and missing position players (Ashburn, Luzinski, Rolen, Allen) but had what we had in the collection. Is what it is, but the game works with stats on cards so there is some reason to picking those players’ for stat years with high raw totals. Here they are:

    Dykstra ’93 (OF), Utley ’06 (2B), Klein ’32 (OF), Thome ’03 (1B), Schwarber ’22 (DH), Burrell ’02 (OF), Hollins ’92 (3B), Leiberthal ’99 (C), Bowa ’78 (SS), Carlton ’80 (SP), Williams ’93 (RP).

    Rollins ’07 (SS), Harper ’21 (OF), Howard ’06 (1B), Schmidt ’80 (3B), Abreu ’00 (DH), Hayes ’86 (OF), Maddox ’76 (OF), Daulton ’93 (C), Samuel ’87 (2B), Lee ’11 (SP), Bedrosian ’87 (RP).

Also, makes you notice that most of the greats all batted lefty (or switchy)…

  2. Would love to find some modern “recreation” cards with full stats (more than they used to be have when the actual cards were done) for: (3B) Dick Allen (’64 or ’66) (or even Rolen ’98) replacing Hollins, and (OF) Richie Ashburn (’51 or ’58) replacing Maddox.

Surprising how close Burrell and Luzinski were in their best years (stat wise) – really just comes down to wanting a righty or lefty bat in there…

    Luzinski ’77: 171 Hits, 35 2Bs, 39 HRs, 80 BBs, .309 BA (need to find a card for him as a Phillie)

    Burrell ’02: 165 Hits, 39 2Bs, 37 HRs, 89 BBs, .282 BA

Other egregious omissions from position players?
