Boston Bruins vs. Winnipeg Jets | Game Preview | 12/11/2025
[Music] Canada Life Center in Winnipeg as the Bruins continue their road trip. Game two of three coming off a win over the St. Louis Blues and looking for their fourth straight win overall tonight. They got David Posnock back last game and tonight Charlie Makavoy activated and ready to go as the Bruins look to Yonas Corposalo tonight between the pipes getting ready for their first of two matchups against the Jets this season. And it is cold out there and it is styling right now for David Posnock. That’s an expensive jacket. That’s some nice action right there. Is that why they don’t have one? Yeah, that’s that is not in our budget at all. That one I I don’t know what, but you can tell by the look of that leather. I am surprised. I thought the boys would be bundled up a little bit more. You’re right. This time of year upging [Music] it though because he still had to cover his face when he walked out of the building. Uh this is the ultimate brewing show presented by Jordan’s Furniture. Glad you could join us. Adam Peller and Barry Peterson. Andrew Ray Croft to get you caught up on the story lines heading into the game against the Jets. But the big story line obviously Charlie Makavoy looks like he’s ready to go and ready to make his return. Yeah, as we talked last game with Pasta, we we knew that would kind of be his decision, but we kind of felt like Charlie’s would almost have to be a doctor’s decision, don’t you think? Yes, certainly. and and and but also how he feels. But but to allow him just to get on the plane and allow him to go on the road was was probably a tedious conversation and and certainly was had to be okayed by the doctor. Yeah. And then you think about a week to 10 days ago it was, you know, he was talking about how he lost the 20 lbs and you’re going, “Oh my goodness gracious.” And we’ve all been around guys who have got I know I didn’t have that problem. I’ve had other close calls like that, but it’s just so difficult to get used to that mask and looking down at your feet, which I guess you would have a feel for for the goalie’s mask, right? I would be used to it, but but a guy without a face mask on for a long time wouldn’t be. Uh Charlie talked about the other day and he had it in college, so he feels like that’s a bit of a benefit to him. Um has had to play with it before. Uh, but no question once the bullets start flying tonight, it’s it’s like being out on 128 in the middle of traffic and trying to cross the road. So, it’s different and he’ll need to warm himself up. Do you guys feel like I did that when I saw him go down that night, I didn’t think he’d be back this soon? No, no question about that. Who knows, right? Because you knew that there would be surgery involved. You knew the severity was pretty significant. And you also have the other factors to consider, right? building back up, not going to be able to eat for a while. So many different things go into this injury. No question. No question. It was It was as scary as it gets. It really was. All right, let’s continue the conversation now. Head out to Winnipeg and that’s where we find Sophia York who has more on Charlie Mackoy’s road to recovery. Hi Sophia. Hi guys. Yeah, I love being here in person and having breaking news for you guys, but the Bruins, as you saw, released officially that Charlie Makavoy has been activated. So, I don’t have any breaking news there, but he is still considered a game time decision. So, he’s going to take warm-ups, make sure he feels okay. I think we’ve seen it before, at least while I’ve been with the Bruins. I think we’ve seen it before where a player takes warm-ups and they’re actually not good to go. So, we can’t say it’s official until we get the thumbs up and we see him uh on the ice for the game. But Charlie Macko, as you guys said, what a journey for him dating back to the four nations. He’s just had to grind it out. He’s Thank the equipment staff or the training staff rather, and I’m sure the equipment staff is great, too. the training staff were helping him. They work so hard off the ice in the gym. And of course, there’s the issue of putting back almost 20 lb. 20 lb for anyone to lose in a matter of weeks is an extreme amount, let alone for a professional athlete. And now you’re trying to put that 20 lbs back. He’s not eating solids yet. He’s still eating mush as we call it. He can’t wait to eat solid food, but he’s got to give his jaw. And he had surgery just a while ago that rest. But he’s putting on pounds through smoothies, through mush, all of the above. And the biggest thing for him was getting that gained energy. He wanted to make sure he had enough energy and he says he has it and he feels it. So, as long as he’s happy, as long as he’s cleared, he’s good to go. It would be great to get him back in the lineup tonight. And as you guys mentioned, not just him, but David Pastnov, Victor Arvitzson, Pavl Zaka missed today. Casey Middle, uh, Hampus Lynholm. Injuries have been crazy, but we’re finally getting back close to a full strength team, and the Bruins couldn’t be happier about it, guys. Yeah, no question about that. They’ve been able to weather the storm without some of their big pieces as well, which has kept them right in the mix. Sophia joining us live from Winnipeg. Thanks, Sophia. We’ll see a little bit later. So, Charlie Makavoy again, game time decision. We’ll see how things play out. Meanwhile, she mentioned David Posh being back in the lineup and making his presence felt and skating on a different line to say the least. Fraser Mitten and Morat Hus Nadine off. Here’s what he had to say about that after the win over the Blues. That was awesome. Obviously with Koozie, so much speed and and the capability of being so strong in his pack for the size of of his it’s unbelievable with Minty obviously um for being such a young player and uh being so mature in the early in the career. It’s it’s honestly amazing to see. Um he’s a great 200 foot player and and um it was uh you know we already had couple looks earlier in the season. Um so yes it was new no practice together but at the same time uh you know I I know what to expect from them and and uh it was just you know trying to make them feel comfortable and and don’t change anything about their game since uh uh you know there was a reason uh we work well together and you know me getting rewarded with you know uh great great position in uh on the both goals. So uh it was fun to see just three young guys skating. Yeah, that’s what he said, right? So good. Now, Razer, you’re much more fashionable than I am. But did that hat go with that jacket? I I don’t think so. I think those are two separate shopping exper you know, he could have done it all at once. But David Passac could make the three of us get points in an NHL hockey game if we were playing with him. He is on another level. And the fact that the other we talked about this, Patrice talked about this the other night. It just goes to show you what kind of a teammate David is and has always been and has learned from David Cr and Berseron. They’re not going to take credit for that, but but what kind of a teammate he is that there’s a lot of superstars in the National League that wouldn’t come back in the lineup unless they were back on the top line and would not feel comfortable doing so. David does it. No big deal. Three assists. Yeah. And uh I’m sure Fraser Mitten must have looked at practice that morning and looked over a couple times to his right and said, “Are you kidding?” Well, he called his buddies back on the island. Hey, fellas, you might want to watch this one tonight. This is going to be good. His bodyguards were gone, Jano, and Mark Castle. But he did get, you know, one of the best goal scorers in the entire world on his line. And he delivered two goals. First multi-goal game of his career. He’s got six on the year. He’s got three in the last two games. You talk about how good he is in terms of being advanced for his age. Take a look. By the way, David Pos got assist back on that goal. Good. He should have even though some of our producers don’t think so. We have to say he will. But yes, I we thought he had right. We thought he had three that night. I also think the other thing uh with Mitten is that he’s he’s a lot like Zaka 200t game. I think that really helps u especially when you’re first coming back for Pasta. Allows him to wander a little bit more, be a little bit more creative offensively cuz he’s know he’s got a guy that’s that solid, always above the puck in a good defensive position. And give Moran Husand some credit too cuz David talked about him being able to go get all the pucks. David David wasn’t going to get pucks the other night and he might not go and get pucks as much tonight either if he’s around and of course he’s going to win the battle. But Houston has a ton of speed. He’s good on his stick and he can go into the corners and he comes out with a puck.
