Giannis to Miami has been mentioned by: Sam Amick, Bill Simmons, Jake Fischer, Brett Siegel, Kirk Goldsberry, and now Howard Beck.

Yeah I’m sure Giannis would be open to Miami (who wouldn’t?) but that’s not gonna happen.
In my view, our package for Giannis is 10x better than NY, we have young players and picks that can be offered, while NY would be giving pretty bad picks and older players that don’t help a rebuild.
However. If a west team wants Giannis and bucks want best return. Then we get destroyed by value
If Giannis wanted us so much we would have been his first choice.

It’s always “[star player] would love to be in Miami if he doesn’t land in [big market]”, then the Heat has nothing to offer but a bag of chips and a can of soda, [star player] ends up in a team that wasn’t even mentioned.

What Beck said about the Heat’s star chasing and aggression gives the game away. Someone is throwing out chum with the Heat name in order to make the market seem frothier. “Oh no, we better offer some good stuff or else Pat’s going to swoop in and we’re finished!”
