Sabres vs. Canucks | NHL Highlights | December 11, 2025

Cox’s looking for an energetic start and want to 
leave this rink with the points and then get on the road and put some wins together. Conor 
Timonss risks the puck into the Vancouver zone. Canucks sent it the other way. Kane 
and sharp angle shot. Lion had the He said in Pittsburgh he was behind Crosby, Malcin and 
Jeff Carter. So better to be on the wing. Get some ice time. Here’s a shot by Jack Quinn. 
Turned aside by Thatcher. Demco auat check. Tage Thompson wheels back for Buffalo onto the 
right wing. Payton Krebs stops. Sends one across. Thompson re shot. Demco the save. Thompson gets 
the loose puck and now makes a play on the puck, but it’s intercepted by Max Cone only to be taken 
back by Buffalo. And the Sabres move to center. Buffalo in. Oh, that one deflected on goal. 
Dunko the save on it. Plays the puck to the corner. Intercepted there by Buffalo and Bryson 
will hook the puck over to power out to center to Quinn. Jack Queen the right wing. Three on 
two. Buffalo feeds one down. Mloud behind the net. Center as Dene scores. Rosmus Dene was all 
alone and he skated into that one timer to make one- nothing Buffalo. And as it gets below the 
goal line, all eyes are on the puck. Nobody’s picking up Dalene right down the center of the 
slot and he’s got the wind up and it eludes Demco slips under him as Marcus Person can’t knock that 
pass and you’ve got a couple of Kuck forwards who are drifting below the goal line and trail one 
to nothing. Quinn Hughes trying to get it back. centers the puck and camp was there but couldn’t 
steer it on goal. Diene came into this game on pace for just six goals. He’s averaged 16 the 
last four years. There’s a long shot on Lion as he was tested by Tom Vander and brought ahead 
by Beck Menston. He’s checked and here comes Evander Kane the other way. Kane sharp angle 
shot handled by line. Puck sent around and out and there’s the pass and he couldn’t quite reach 
it as he tried to redirect that one goal. Myers with the shot blocks Patterson shooting and 
a right pad save by Alex Lion. Thompson drops Krebs on the backand puts it on the forehand. 
Looks across moves back to the blue line now. Wrist one on goal. Stopped by Demco through 
traffic and 45 seconds to go in the Buffalo power play. Tage Thompson gets a return pass 
from Don. Here’s Benson. Thompson wrist shot and he fired it wide and out of play. That 
goal was square to this shot coming through. Thompson with 44 last season. Led the Sabres 
in goals and points. Quinn Hughes making moves on Minsteun drops off. Nice pass with a shot. 
Stopped. Rebound. Cleared from the crease before Jake DeSki get his stick on it. Now check in the 
corner. Benson can’t move the puck out. Here’s Garland to the blue line. Marcus Patterson with 
a shot. Stopped by Lion. Rebound backhanded wide by Tyler Myers. Now thrown in front and deflects 
behind the goal. Garland tried to center. Besser hooks the puck to the blue line. Marcus Patterson 
fan on that one. Kind of got caught in between passing and shooting, I think, and wound up 
just muffing it into the corner. That is a verb, by the way. Take your word for it. Here’s 
Ryan Mloud in drops to Zack Dixon with a shot and a glove save by Demco. If you know you’re 
playing with a guy who’s always ready to shoot, here he is again. And another save by 
Demco. Then you just put it in an area and he can get to it. Back to Hughes 197. 
Quinn Hughes to keeper Sherwood. Wrist shot off the right pad of Ryan Gar on the 
rebound. Sherwood backhander scores. Sherwood scores his first goal in 11 games. Player 
and the game’s tied at one. Just keep getting him to the net and good things will happen. Dig away 
at it. De Brusk in front. There’s the steel from Garland. And when Sherwood’s knocking it towards 
the net, I think this goes off the defenseman Timmons skate off the toe through the five hole. 
They don’t ask how this one’s in. It’s 1-1. You see the Conucks do not have any fresh legs 
on the ice with that graphic. And they’ll try to ward off this challenge off the face off a 
save. There’s just too many Dave Thomas with identical statistics. Right. Here’s Max 
with a verse through the net. Scores. Shaves of Dave Tomlinson. Max 
Cone makes it 2-1 Vancouver. Son’s got a lane and he’s going to take it and 
as he’s pulling it across his body. Just a sneaky little sassy move through the legs of Lion and 
the Conucks take the lead 2-1. This is the push for the Sabres right now and the Conucks have to 
make sure they’re just smart defensively. Don’t rush back so much that you leave the points 
open. That’s happened a couple times in this game. Make sure you identify who your guy is. 
Thompson shoots. He scores. Taage Thompson 84 mph wrist shot and the game is tied at two. 
Wrong guy to leave alone in the top of the slot to Thompson. And we’ve seen his shot already 
a couple times in this game. And he beats Deco. This comes off the boards. It’s intercepted 
and Thompson’s able to go blocker side. It’s a weapon. It is. And when he’s got that 
much time to pull it in and use that collector, Sherwood feeds the line. Tyler Meyers. Sherwood 
behind the goal for Evander Kane. Put one at the crease. Now Meer shoots. Blocked. You can shoot 
that puck close to the body. Extend the arms and shoot. Here’s another chance. And Demco did well 
to get to his left to make that save. and Patrick Jenko black pads and black rock for catcher. 
Maybe this stuff is more worked in here. The gear guy speculating coke broken up and brought 
ahead by here’s Baines and on the right wing. RC Baines missed the net by a wide margin as he 
tried to beat Lion glove side. Tyler Myers with a shot kicked out. Rebound Baines turns dishes off. 
Cissone stopped rebound loose shot wide as Cissone followed his own shot attempt to the net. Here’s 
Hughes at the blue line. Quinn Hughes spinning. Quinn Hughes shooting. Glove by Lion and he hangs 
on to stop play. Shot. He’s already on the board in this game. There’s the Quinn spin and now he’s 
going to look to be a shooter. and Alex Lion, Zack Benson, Ryan Mloud, up to Benson. Here’s 
Dalene near side. Thompson watched by Tyler Meyers. Puck centered and Benson scores. First 
goal in 35 games for Zack Benson as he one timed that one home on the power play to make it 
3-2 Sabres. Sabra slowed everything down on the left side when Tae Thompson got the puck and 
from the other side. You won’t see him until now coming into the screen getting a one-time pass 
from Dome. So, everyone thinks they’re in a good position until Benson comes into the middle of 
the box and he sweeps that right by a stunned Demco. Here’s Okconor in the right one. Stops to 
find some space. sends one across to Kane. Chops one towards a little Sherwood after the rebound. 
Gets a little pick from her. All to move in over the Buffalo blue line. Feeds back. Heronic leaves 
for Hughes. Cuts across. Watched by Quinn. Hughes turns left with wrist shot and a pad saved by 
Alex Lion. Kind of a two-man breakaway. Now it’s Myers with the blue line. Across. Hughes 
still off the Quinn Hughes puts one in front. Carlin on the back hand. Stopped by Lion and 
to the side for Hoglander. It drops back and puck sent near side by Elias Peterson. He turned 
it over and Delane shot is off Demco and wide. The long execution. I think that the Sabers 
thought he was going to use the boards and so he was going to shade one way. Now a turnover 
and a shot by Carlson is stopped by Alex Lion. Hughes side steps a check. Peronic with 
room. Wrist shot and lion looking behind him. Pucks underneath him. I guess now a 
shot down the ice on this issue. I’m with you. Here’s Josh Dome with a wrist shot. Stopped 
by Patrick Demco. Turns the puck to the corner. Puck stays in the Buffalo zone. Now stolen. 
Carlson dropped. O’ Conor stopped by Lion. That was a cheeky little drop pass by Lenus 
Carlson from the crease. Yeah, we seen Lion be aggressive with his goal stick and he was 
going to go try to poke the puck, missed it, and then it was shot towards him and it almost hit 
him in the cup of the glove before he could react, but he made the stop. Stays 3-2 Buffalo. Cissones 
pass intercepted by Ryan Mloud. We’re nearing the halfway mark of the third period. Owen Power 
rushes the puck ahead. Chips one in on Demco into his glove and Josh Dome taken down. Savers bench 
wanted a penalty. None forthcoming. Sherwood back in. Kefir Sherwood delays feeds back to Hughes. 
Slap shot stopped by Lion power. I’m just going to let referee Cody Beach do the playbyplay. 
Here’s a centering pass. Ber stopped by Lion. Samson’s broken his stick trying to defend 
without one. Hughes has the puck at the blue line. O’ Conor in front off the pad of Lion. 
220 to go. Demco looking to the bench as the puck is sent around the Buffalo zone and Neils 
Hoglander. He comes off the board to the wrist shot. Stopped. Rebound jammed wide by De Brusk. 
Demco’s halfway to the bench. Now he heads off. Holander shot stops. Minute 20 to go. Here’s 
Sherwin. Heronic to the net. Knocked away by Lion. Loose puck. Winds up behind the goal. 
Holander has it. Cuts across. Quinn here. Shoots. Blocked. Loose puck. Cleared behind the 
goal. Power sends it out. That’s going to do it. Buffalo Sabres are going to hang on as the 
Conucks lose the finale of this four game home
