Pistons PROVE Everyone Wrong… Again & SHOCK the HEAT 🔥

The Pistons win a gutsy nailbiter against the east hottest team in Miami. We’ll break it all down in just a moment. Welcome back to the Business and Jack YouTube channel. Today’s episode we are going to be reacting to the Pistons big time win in Miami against the Heat 138 to 135 in a very interesting crazy game. plenty of highs, a huge low towards the end, but they get out of there with a very important victory against, like I said, the East hottest team right now in the Miami Heat. The Heat had won six or seven games heading into tonight. They have the number two ranked defense in the NBA and they had one of the best offenses to go along with that as well. Uh we we spoke about it in the preview on Pistons Worldwide yesterday. They have been clicking. They just got Tyler Hero back. Norman Pow averages 25. They were without a couple of key players tonight, but the Pistons were also without Jaylen Duran and Caris Levert. Now, some will say the rotation was had to was shorten because of that and that was a good thing for the Pistons, but regardless, Jaylen Duran has been playing like an all-star this year and Miami have two very good bigs and to be without him tonight was a loss and the Pistons get out of there with a win. Now, I’m going to jump straight to the end of this game because while it’s fresh in my mind, I want to just talk about it and then we’ll talk about players, the overall performance, and just overall how this was an impressive win. But Detroit led this game by 15 points with three minutes to go and they led Duncan Robinson hit a layup. The Pistons were up 131 to 116. And at that point, even though they led by as many as 20 in this final quarter, it felt like, okay, they’ve got it. And then literally from that point on, the heat went on. A two-13 run, I should say two to 15 run, and this got all the way back to a two-point game, believe it or not. Uh the Pistons for about three two and a half minutes there just kind of lost their way. Absolutely. Um, I tweeted it out. It was almost like a meltdown. They didn’t lose, so I probably went too far there in using the word meltdown. But man, there was turnovers. Tobias missed a pair of free throws, which honestly, even before that transition play, it shouldn’t even have been free throws. They should have gotten just a dunk, but Tobias gets fouled. Missed both free throws. To Tobias was awesome, by the way. But I’m just going through this here to really emphasize how much the Pistons really just nearly coughed this one up. Um, Kade had some turnovers. Uh, it was just like anything that could go wrong did go wrong. Tyler Hero heated up, hit a couple of threes. Norman Pal got to the bucket. I mean, Andrew Wiggins had 30 tonight. Um, it was just like it felt like, okay, I’ll be honest. I never felt like they were losing. I can say that hand on heart. Like I might even go as far far as say I swear in my life I did not think they were going to lose this because they had built up such a big lead like as bad as it was going those two minutes I was like there’s just no way they can lose this as bad as it was. And this is where we get to one of the absolute plays of the game. Cade had been struggling all night as a playmaker honestly and particularly struggled uh in this stretch with turnovers just throwing. He he just had one of those nights for Cade. Um scoring wise, I thought he was excellent. Shotmaking wise, excellent. It was just his distribution and overall ball control tonight that I just thought he just was had one of those bad K games in that regard where he’s turning it over. He may I’ll check in a second, but I think he had like six, seven, maybe eight turnovers. Hope I’m not mistaking that, but um probably had six assists as well, but for a guy that has the ball that much, that’s obviously not good. Um, but the Heat did a really good job. Davon Mitchell got into Kade. Those two have history all the way back to college when Kade was playing for Oklahoma State and DaVon was on the Baylor Bears. Um, and yeah, Kade turned it over. But this is where we get to the crunchtime moment. Kade gives it, they’re kind of trapping him. He gives it up to Dannis Jenkins who thankfully was on the court to close the game. He just with a cool, calm, collected head straight into the paint. Bam Adobay raises to block the shot. And honestly, if this is a less athletic kind of guard, he probably does alter the shot. But Danis kind of just breezes by him. Has like the elevation to breeze by him. Finishes with a nice finger roll to make it a four-point buffer. And that was huge because the Pistons hadn’t scored and they needed that. He scores to put them up by four. Um with 40 seconds to go. Now the Heat come back down. The Pistons play awesome defense. Um Stu defends Norman Pal really well, but Bibay comes in for the tip layup. And then we’re back to a two-point game with 20 seconds to go or 25 seconds to go. And then this is where Cage after struggling still showed why he’s the best fourth quarter scorer in the league. Comes down, gets right into the teeth of the defense, just below the free throw line, hits his patented midi, which is his go-to shot in the clutch. He did it against the Hawks last week, does it tonight. And um that was kind of curtains. The uh the the Heat got another shot, but without any timeouts, the Pistons were able to end the game. Dennis Jenkins hits a free throw and the Pistons win this one by five. So, um just an up and down game, a roller coaster game, a game the Pistons kind of led by double digits for most of the night. The Miami got it all the way back to like a close game in the second, I want to say, but then the Pistons got it back out um and kind of just controlled this game from start to finish. If we talk about individual performers, I’ll start with Tobias Harris. Tobias Harris tonight. I’m pretty sure this would be a season high for him. 26 points on 10 of 12 from the field, four of six from deep. Um started this game well. Made some key shots. He did miss the two free throws and have a couple of turnovers that were a bit questionable, but um I thought he was excellent offensively. Made when you make 10 out of 12 and score 26, um that’s a that’s a awesome game. And I want to start with him because he’s a guy who doesn’t get a lot of love from the fan base sometimes and can go a bit unnoticed, but uh his shotmaking was on point tonight. His ability, and I don’t know if you guys feel like this as fans, but please let me know. His turnaround midi in the post this season, I feel like is automatic. Like of course he’s missed a couple, but even more so than last year, I feel like that is such a good weapon for the Pistons to have. I’m not sure like if you’re going to go to it too much in a clutch close game, but if your offense is Kade has a couple of iffy possessions, the ball’s not moving great. I feel like it’s such a good release valve to have him throughout the game and I feel like especially if he gets a smaller player on him, he’s not missing that. Um, so he was awesome. The next two guys I want to mention, Ron Holland, Paul Reed, Dog Pound, those two tonight. Um, and like I I said this when I saw JD was out. I said to my girlfriend on our walk this morning before the game, I said I actually think JD not being there um might sneakily just help the Pistons. And not because I think they’re a better team without him, but just cuz it’s the second night of it back to back. Um the Pistons sometimes energy-wise can use an extra boost. And as soon as JD was out, I was like, well, Ball is going to get minutes tonight. Um he’s going to get bulk minutes. Um, and he made the most of them like he always does. In 19 minutes had 13 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal, hit a three at a key moment in the first half, five and nine from the field. Has in terms of like hook shots and just finishes around the rim. Some of them look unorthodox, but his ability to score with his left hand, right hand, put back, second jump is just like elite. Not I’m not even talking as a backup pick, just elite. Full stop for someone in the paint. um especially someone undersized. Um just always makes plays whether it’s tapping it out to get a second chance. Um I just thought he was key key. So many key moments where he might not even got a stat for hustling, but he was able to force a deflection or force an Miami player into a deflection which led to another scoring opportunity for the Pistons. Um he was awesome. Ron as well, best game Ron’s played in a while on both ends. I think defensively he’s still been sound, but for most of the past few weeks, Ron and I think he would know like he would be feeling it as well. He’s just struggled to score the ball consistently. Um he’s kind of stopped taking threes, I’ve noticed, but tonight 10 points, three steals, pretty sure he converted in transition on all three of those steals. Um a really nice dunk, couple of nice M1s. Um just such a creative finisher and it was awesome to see him get back to doing what he does best which is damaging in transition. Two of two from the line. Uh K Cunningham like I said awesome shot making game. I thought 14 to 25 from the field laughable this guy gets one free throw attempt but whatever. Um I thought shot making every shot he took personally I felt like I was really comfortable with. I felt like he was making it. Missed a couple of floers and layups, which I would like to see him get more consistent with. But as a shot maker, purely a scorer tonight, I thought he was on point. Playmaking, eight assists, eight turnovers. So, we already spoke about that. Shaky night for him. Miami are a good defensive team. Even if they had the likes of Tyler here, Norman Pal starting like overall their scheme, they’re really good. They go to zone. They’re not afraid to mix it up. Coach Spo’s exceptional as we all know. So, second best defense in the NBA for a reason. So, look, eight turnovers is unacceptable, but um you know, the Pistons get the win and it doesn’t matter as much. So, hopefully he can tighten that up. But I thought as a shot maker, 29 points for him. Continues to be elite as a scorer uh in recent recent games. Um and got to bring up Duncan Robinson revenge game. 18 points, five rebounds, five assists, one steal, one blocked. I was thinking this in the first half and like like once again please comment away if you feel like this in the starting lineup right now just right now in the past week of Duncan Tobias Assar Cade and we’ll throw Stuart Duran in there but I actually feel most comfortable with Duncan dribbling the ball. Um I think Assar in theory should be the secondary playmaker but his handles just felt really loose recently and he had um three turnovers tonight. Um, Assar has the more flashy handle, that’s for sure, and can pull off more creative moves. But just in terms of ball security, um, Duncan for me alongside Kade and that starting group is the one I feel most comfortable with if it’s not Kade. Um, I hope Assar can get a bit better. I’ve always said the number one area of growth for Assar Thompson to really unlock his potential, and just my opinion, is the handle. I’ve been saying this for like two years. I’m pretty sure I would have said it in his preseason in the season preview for him that we did with Coup all those months ago. Um it’s the ball handling because it unlocks so much for him. It unlocks his passing even more. Um and not to get too off track from Duncan, but I just think for Assar when the handle’s on point, there’s been games this year where his handle’s been elite, so I’m not trying to pile on him, but um I’ve just noticed recently it’s gotten a bit shaky. Um and maybe the confidence has dipped a little bit with that and that’s led to some more indecision. But um Duncan for me like five assists um only one turnover. I I genuinely like he driving to the rim like he had a nice finish over Bam tonight. He’s got some juice and we knew this when the Pistons sign and traded for him and we spoke we’ve spoken about this isn’t anything new. I just feel like he continues to get more and more comfortable. Um three of nine from deep. He’s a he’s a solid number on high on high volume. So big time game from him. Uh who else have we got? Jayen Ivy. I thought Ji that might have been one like obviously he’s only playing like 14 minutes. So when I say it’s one of his best games like it’s I just felt like he there’s this moment where in the third quarter he locked up one of the Heats players. I think it was Pal Lassen who’s not you know not Tyler Herro but he locked him up in the corner. Um the Pistons end up getting a turnover out it and then Ji comes down hits a three in transition and just a huge play. Um because defensively like if Ji can do that more often and I’ll post a clip on my socials either tonight or tomorrow morning. Um but he can really lean into that, knock down threes and build from there, then there’ll be no issues with him continuing to fit in with this team. Like if he can play on ball defense like that um consistently stay in front of his man, force them to pick up the ball. Um that’s a that’s an extremely valuable and um versatile player and I know it’s within him. Um and he’s just going to continue to get better. But I thought he was solid tonight. Nine points, two or five shooting. Got to the line a few times which was cool to see as well. Um I think that’ll do it. Obviously Stu, I thought Stu was awesome in the first half. He kind of got into foul trouble um which limited him, but I thought his job on Bam when he was able to be on BAM in 28 minutes was pretty darn good. like Bam finishes with 15 and 10, but if you watched it, I feel like Stu did an excellent job just not allowing him to get to his shot. Like he hit one three that Stu kind of let him have. Um, but I would like to see the matchup numbers with Bam on Stu because I think Stu did an excellent job. Had some awesome possessions where he switched on to Norman Pal, Tyler Hero, um, and obviously held his own. So, um, that’s it from me, guys. Um, oh, Dennis Jenkins. How could I forget? I know I spoke about his clutch play, but um little bit quiet in the first half, gets the 15 minutes tonight, finishes with nine points, has the clutch layup, hits three out of four free throws in the clutch to ice the game. Um yeah, I said it at the end of Pistons Worldwide yesterday, he has to be a part of the rotation. I don’t care whether the team’s healthy or not. I think his ball handling and I love seeing JB put him out there towards the end of the fourth or in the end of the fourth to help out Cade because um not I don’t I still don’t think they lose the game if Dennis isn’t out there but man it’s even somehow closer than it was because uh Cade just was getting harassed and they needed someone who could dribble and play fearless and Dennis is fearless and that’s why we love having him on this team. But thank you so much for watching. We’ll be back with another video tomorrow as per usual. But until then, as always, go Pistons. [Music]

  1. I think Cade got stripped by davion Mitchell 3 times in a row at the end. Dudes a great player, but damnit Cade! He needs to keep his head up at the end of the game. We stopped moving the ball at the end, too, which helped Miami get back in it.

I'm starting to think that Cade is feeling the pressure of his newfound national limelight. Ever since that KD interview came out, and the Nike announcement, he hasn't been quite the same in the clutch. It's like he's becoming more of a Goliath type than a David, and that doesn't suit him or the Pistons. I except this to end very soon. Cade will figure it out.

  2. A win is a win. It's good to see Ron and Daniss influence the game positively. We are getting a lot of information that we need. Jaden Ivey's ramp up looks good as well. Veterans held it down

  3. Jenkins and Reed were huge. Teams need quality depth and the Pistons have that this season. Great offensive game from Tobias as well. Too much "give it to Cade and get out of the way" in the 4th.

  4. Ausar as a ball handler has really surprised me this season. He has a ways to go but has already come a long way and it is great that they trust him to be a secondary ball handler. The more he does it the better he'll get.

  5. Man yall fans gotta stop with the ass kissing that was a bad win we almost lost Cade played horrible kept turning the ball over when it mattered he needs to stop with that nonsense

  6. Didn't catch the 4th quarter because I had to go out. Glad the team was able to hold off the Heat. Still need to tweak a bit more. And I'm bummed that Levert is yet again a DNP supposedly due to injury. But at least tat opened up some minutes for Jenkins. On to the next.

    Laban, Pistons!

  7. I wouldn't over hype this win as they nearly bottled it again and tbh it's hard to lose a 20 pt lead in the 4th. They are not gonna shoot 59% every game. Defence has been bad last few games and they need to get the TOs under control.

  8. They didn’t beat the Magic in Detroit the other night but took out the Heat in Miami. I’m more concerned with beating the Magic than the Heat. Go Pistons!

  9. The Pistons must stop their many turnovers!! I am amazed at their sloppy play!!

How can we ever be a true contender if we turn the ball over so much??

    So sad 😭😫😭
