Philadelphia Eagles Fans Were DENIED The News They Were Expecting…

[Music] A lot to get into here on today’s edition of Philadelphia Eagles. Now, my name is Chase Senior. As always, thank you so much for supporting the show. There are so many talented content creators out there who cover the Eagles on YouTube, so many different content options, podcasts, YouTube channels, traditional television, newspaper, website. So, anytime you decide to hang out here with us, I do appreciate that. Now, over the course of the next several minutes, what I want to discuss here, Eagles fans were denied the news that they were expecting. Here’s what I mean by that. What Eagles fans were expecting going into that Chargers game. Philadelphia had that ugly Black Friday loss to the Chicago Bears and they had that mini bye-week to figure out some of their issues and their struggles on both sides of the ball. wasn’t just the offense, right? On defense, they gave up 284 yards to the dynamic run scheme that Ben Johnson has with the Bears. Coming off of that Bears game, there was that report going into the Chargers game that Nick Serriani was taking more control of this Eagles offense. And perhaps some people thought that that was going to lead to a lot of sizable changes and a better performance from the Eagles. A lot of people thought that this Eagles team, coming off the mini bye-week, given their track record of making inseason adjustments, were going to find solutions to some of their offensive issues. The Dallas Cowboys lost on Thursday. I thought that was going to take some pressure off the Eagles. They were going to go out there on Monday Night Football, beat another playoff caliber team, take down a quality opponent, and put the Cowboys season in the grave, and end any chances that Dallas has of winning the NFC East. I was confident that the Eagles were going to end their twoame skid, save their season, and really start this run at the end of the year to instill hope in this fan base that they can repeat as Super Bowl champions in a league that is wild, wacky, and wide open. Instead, what we got, the offense didn’t improve. Jaylen Herz was awful. Played the worst game of his career. He had a careerhigh five turnovers in the game. Kevin Patulo still lacks play calling feel. I don’t think that’s anything that’s going to change. The Eagles offensive line still spotty and in the ground game not great, nor is it consistent enough. And unfortunately, I think this is an issue that’s going to plague this Eagles team for the rest of the season. and Philadelphia losing an absolute heartbreaker. Despite those five turnovers and Jaylen Herz playing a piss poor game and this Eagles team struggling to maintain consistency on the offensive side of the ball, they had a chance to win. They took a great defense into overtime and lost an absolute heartbreaker as Herz was picked off on a good defensive play, but a play that I don’t think he should have pulled the trigger on that throw. Now, moving forward for this Eagles team, is there hope? Will we continue to see some of the new offensive wrinkles that we saw against the Los Angeles Chargers? Will Nick Serriani continue to take control of this offense? Because all things considered, I do like some of the conceptual things that we saw against the Chargers, some of the philosophical elements that we saw displayed from this offense. There were play calls and play designs where we were live doing the watch party and I’m asking Chip, where has this been and why has it taken or why has it taken since week 14 to implement some of these things? Well, here’s what Adam Sher had to say about Nick Serriani’s involvement with this offense. I would think Serriani’s involvement in the offense will continue going on. He’s a head coach. The team’s lost three in a row. Again, I think the offense showed signs of life. What led to it was the offense has been flat. It’s been predictable. It’s not been very innovative. I think Nick Cerriani got involved because it’s his team ultimately. He must answer for everything. And if the offense is not getting the job done, it’s his job to step in and make sure that it does. I don’t know the exact role he had in the offense. Supposedly, he had a bigger role. Yes, I would expect it to continue. And yes, I would expect the Eagles to get back to running the football. That’s a big thing there. I think the Eagles need to become a more balanced offense. And as part of this segment, we’ll talk more about that coming up here just around the corner. Now, were there positive moments with this Eagles offense? I do think there were, and I think there are some things to build off of. What I liked with what the Eagles did against the Chargers, we saw more pre-nap motion. We saw an increase in some RPOS and designed quarterback runs. I really liked how the Eagles at times moved the pocket for Jaylen Herz to the right, to the left. That’s something that I always am a fan of, especially when your offensive line is struggling. The Eagles called and ran more crossing routes. And the run game was a little bit better. It was only the second time of the entire year that Saquon Barkley has run for more than 100 yards in a game. And you look at some of the raw numbers with what the Eagles offense did against a top 10 overall defense that the Chargers have. They did put up 365 yards of offense despite five turnovers. Kind of hard to do. They average 5 and a half yards per play. That’s better than their averages this year. On the ground, they averaged 5.4 yards per carry. Saquon Barkley averaged 6.1 himself. Of course, the big thing that can’t happen, which isn’t a sustainable way to play football, the five turnovers. And when you turn the ball over at the NFL level, you lose about 80% of the time. So, this isn’t something that I think is going to happen every game, obviously, right? So, you limit the turnovers, you continue to do some of the things that the Eagles did on the offensive side of the football. And I think that the Eagles may have found a thing or some things that can help them form a little bit of an identity. Now, against the Raiders, I want to see, and we must continue to see some of these improvements and adjustments that we saw against the Chargers take place this week as well against the Raiders. I came away encouraged by some of what the Eagles did. And what I don’t want to see is see the Eagles get scared away from what they did against the Chargers. Just because Jaylen Herz threw five interceptions on Monday night doesn’t mean the Eagles should stop what they’re doing. I want to see the Eagles continue to adapt and evolve and be innovative. There were some plays that we’re watching on Monday night and we’re like, “This looks like a modern offense in 2025.” So, the Eagles showed some signs of life on Monday night on the offensive side of the football. Now, you can apply those against a bad team, get your confidence up, have some good production, blow them out, and maybe that is what the Eagles need to kick this thing into gear with four games left. I like that because the Broncos are underdogs. Good value there. Odds and lines subject to change. Bet $5, get $200 if you win if you use the code Sixers chat. All right, let’s get to this. In the last three games, AJ Brown’s numbers are up. He has looked great outside of the drops against the Chargers, and he’s producing at a high level. He’s been one of the top white outs in football during the last three games, and that’s a good sign for him, right? Here’s the issue. The Eagles record as a team is 0 and3. And as we know, AJ Brown isn’t always about the team. He’s about me. So, with AJ Brown more involved in the offense, with him getting more targets, putting up better numbers, I actually think this Eagles offense has been worse. It’s been clunkier and it’s been less productive. Now, it’s great that AJ Brown is looking the way that he’s looking because he’s back to looking like one of the top wide receivers in the game. Week 12 against the Cowboys, eight catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. Following week against the Bears, 10 catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Week 14 against the Chargers, six catches for 100 yards. So, he’s gone over the century mark in each of the last three games, I think the route tree has been more diversified and vast. And AJ Brown over the last three weeks among all players in football, number one in receptions, number one in receiving yards, and he’s been the number one PPR wide out if you’re into playing fantasy football, even though nobody cares about your fantasy team. Force-feeding AJ has led to fewer targets for Devonte Smith and Dallas Gddard. Devonte Smith and Dallas Gddard, especially going into the by-week, were on track for career years. Smitty was balling. Dallas got herd in a contract year was one of the most productive tight ends in football. He’s already set some career best marks, especially with touchdowns. And I think this Eagles offense actually is at its best when it’s balanced and the ball is spread around. So, I think what the Eagles need to start doing is spread the ball around to all of your playmakers. This is the highest paid offense in the NFL. And what Philadelphia has to do is get back into a rhythmic running game. And that’s been missing as far as the run game all season long. It doesn’t help that this offensive line has really regressed and they’re hurt, but I think the Eagles need to run the ball more. Look at what happened against the Chargers. Saquon Barkley was popping off some good runs. Then at the end of the fourth quarter and in overtime, they barely ran the ball. AJ Brown on social media with all of his cryptic posts hinted that if he got more involved, it would solve the Eagles offensive issues. And a lot of us believe that hasn’t been the case. So what we thought was going to happen has not happened. And I think the Eagles need to go back to doing what they were doing against Minnesota, against the Giants, where everybody is getting involved as far as the offensive weaponry, and they’re having more success with their ground game. Philadelphia Eagles News & Rumors AFTER brutal loss to the Chargers: Eagles fans wanted the mini-bye to spark a fixed offense under Nick Sirianni… instead we got 5 Jalen Hurts turnovers, a heartbreaking defeat, and a 3-game losing streak. BUT there WERE real positives: more pre-snap motion, RPO’s, pocket movement, and a stronger run game — Adam Schefter says Sirianni’s bigger role on offense WILL continue. The scary stat nobody’s talking about? The Eagles are 0-3 in the last 3 games despite AJ Brown going OFF (1st in receptions, yards, and the #1 fantasy WR) — force-feeding him has starved DeVonta Smith & Dallas Goedert and made the offense worse. Week 14: play real football

Almost a whole season and the expectations was for him to go crazy. Almost a full season of bs play calling and dealing with the pressure of the media/fans… im not saying he isn’t to blame but he deserves a bit of leniency because we know he can deliver in big moments and has

  2. The problem with this offense is Nick Sirriani. Not just his hiring of Patullo. No, it's deeper than that. The problem with the eagles offense has been for 5 years. Every O.C. has had to operate under the Sirriani "structure." This offense hasn't changed at all. Regardless of Saquian Barkley and others. We need an independent offensive coordinator and end the Sirriani "structure" period!

  3. I wasn’t confident at all that the eagles would fix their problems. I’m one of the few people who thought and continues to believe Nick Sirianni is a terrible head coach in the sense of schemes and strategy. Ohh he’s bad! Like really bad! Can’t convince me otherwise. The more Sirianni is involved in strategy, the worse the team will be. And our two Super Bowl runs under sirianni came on years where his involvement with the schemes was minimal. Sirianni is a motivational speaker. That’s it. Can’t serve as a head coach when he doesn’t have independent coordinators who can run everything proactively without help. Because if they need help, Sirianni is unqualified to provide such help. And we’re seeing just that. Nick Sirianni doesn’t have a top 5 win percentage when he’s heavily involved with the schemes. You take away all the times someone else was scheming or when his players rebelled against his schemes in the past and you sample only the games he was involved with the schemes, he’s a .500 coach. And to me that’s just unacceptable. And I do believe we’re looking a 8-9 final record.

  4. Every conversation AJ Brown has has been about the offense not performing like it should, so i dont think we should state he’s about “Me.” Bc if he’s about “me” he wouldve have n will be “demanding” a trade bc not understanding how to utilize a top 2 receiver plus Smitty, Saquan, Goddert and a superbowl MVP with a win tells u more about the OC, HC, N QB then AJ Brown. Lets just not create a narrative he literally states is not his focal point

  5. I’m more confident in them now then I was during the bears game the offense looked good Jalen just can’t press as much and we will be fine and the players actually sounded frustrated and emotional after the lose to the chargers and I think they are going to come out strong against the raiders and start our run

  6. To add to the AJ Brown thing and him saying if he get more involved, yes he isnt perfect far from it but that dude has to realized when the ball is actually catchable or could be if you jumped abit, like many do and bring it down you can start bragging.Right now he makes some great plays but his consistency and given ability is lacking on many of them. Spreading the ball around makes more sense there are many others that can make plays as well. Smith who gets targets is probably missing opportunities and Dotson and Darius Copper get very minimal opportunities and they both have talent as well.

  7. Nick Sirianni is a one dimensional oc with the Colts, remember "I have no answers". I told my siblings the would collapse again this season at 4-1. As long as Nick is a head coach without a true OC the Eagles will look like crap offensively.

  8. Eagles should have EASILY beat the negative Chargers….they are average….in my opinion we really only lost 2 games this season….The Gturds and the Bears…other then that we gave them games away…..its now time to …Turn It On….We WILL start rolling NOW

  9. I don't agree about AJ….its not all about him……He wants to WIN….some of the games he had like 3 and 5 and 6 targets ….he is one of your best receivers…he is right…he should easily get more targets…you say "one of the real ones"…well your NOT being real….think about it. yes Jalen NEEDS to spread the ball around…but AJ is a large part of that…and times Goedert gets hardly anything…and Devanta….it seems to me HURTS cant see the field…..wide open guys missed many times…..WHEN the QB gets his shit together we will ROLL….I hope its NOW.

  10. Can we stop trying to scapegoat AJ? He is NOT the problem. KP and his lame ass play calling is the problem. Nicholas not holding his boy, I mean his OC accountable for the lackluster offense week in & week out. We can’t run the ball so obviously we have no choice but to pass the ball.

  11. Eagles should have lost by 20 if the Bolts had their top 2 OL in the NFL playing along with Najee (4 consecutive 1,000 yard seasons). Thus, it's the Eagles D that isn't what it used to be. Herbert is by far the best QB in the league. Everyone knows he has the purest arm/pass but that last game showed his heart and will with all his injuries, stiff arming guys with his broken hand! This is why Eagles fans are calling for Hurts to leave as it was a stark contrast between a super elite QB whose never had an OL (5-0 when Alt played but not Slater) since he came into the league.

  12. After that AJ comment it’s safe to say the Thomas Mott show & Philly special actually cover the team how it should be covered. Not with false accusations and calling players selfish don’t be like wip 94

  13. Good news is the remaining schedule and Eagle player talent. Coaching is still bad with slim glimpses of what should be. Winning is not just getting a couple things right and good teams will eat that up. It appears to me the players are pressing with terrible schemes, situations, and calls in which they are not comfortable or recognize their strengths.
