REPORT: Mets Trade Package For Skubal REVEALED, Mets Talkin’ Willson Contreras TRADE (Mets News)

Mets fans, we got ourselves a discussion. How we doing everybody? Even though I know the answer to that, it’s a rhetorical question because if you’re a Mets fan that likes Pete Alonzo and or Edwin Diaz, you’re more than likely not doing all that great over the past day or two or three. And I find myself too in that category. And a nice little salt in the wound was Robert Suarez, the most coveted reliever in this market after Edwin Diaz, not landing with the New York Mets, but of course landing with our arch rivals in the Atlanta Braves. If you want to see my initial reaction to that, as well as what is next for the Mets on the bullpen front, what can they do to combat the latest loss of Diaz and not landing Suarez in the end, check out that live stream that we did earlier today after you guys watch this one. Because today’s video, folks, is headlined by the following. The New York Mets not only want TK school, but reporting is coming out which is stating what exactly it will be that the Mets would likely have to give up assetwise when looking at the farm. We’re going to break down in depth who those players are versus who is untouchable according to high ranking Mets officials is what we’re about to get into. We’re also going to talk about not only TKO but Wilson Contrus as the New York Mets are absolutely in the market for him as potentially their petal replacement at first base. We’re going to break down Contrarus’s game and how in one year going from a catcher to a first baseman this past season, the veteran put up some really good numbers and actually might be a more logical fit than you initially think. From there, we’ll get into other players the Mets have been connected to, including to lesser degrees, guys like Lars, Brennan Doyle. We’ll get into the upside and certainly the downside with those younger outfield fits, as well as the latest with Tyler Rogers as the Mets would love a reunion with the submariner. Everything to break down, a short period of time to do so. So, all I ask is that you guys smash that like and subscribe button on your way in. Let me know your thoughts in the comments down below as to everything that we have to say in this one. And shout out to amazing sponsor as always at Segeek. Now folks, let’s get right into this one. We’re going to come back to these school highlights. I promise you, because there’s a lot of good things always talk about on the front of TK school. And let’s begin here with the following. John Haymon of the New York Post just came out with a piece that you guys can see right here. Mets would love to acquire Scooball. Who wouldn’t obviously? But here’s why waiting for free agency might be the right idea for them. Now that’s John sharing his opinion. Let’s go ahead and break down the facts in this one from his exact piece and it is as follows and I quote, “With the Tigers listening on Scooble and they’re having no chance to look him up, pardon me, lock him up longterm with the sides starting a quarter billion apart or so in their negotiations. One Mets executive and others are speculating that he will be dealt and I quote, “Of course the Mets and Scooble who wouldn’t want Scooble who wouldn’t and are debating now whether to go allin with the big-time young players for Scooble or wait until winter and try to land the free agent on what would be a record-breaking contract. Obviously, it goes without saying it makes no sense for the Mets to trade for someone like Scooble if they don’t properly allocate the other areas of need for this team. Quite frankly, I don’t want the Mets to trade for Scooball and they’re not going to properly allocate the assets that they need for the outfield for the remainder of the infield. And of course, DH bullpen, you name it. So, Scooble I want, but you have to land school with the expectation that you really are going score this offseason. David Sturz and Steve Cohen. And the jury still at us if they’re going to do anything in the realm of that possibility. As we continue on, this is more from Haymon. The Mets are well equipped to trade with an outstanding stash of big league ready prospects that we all know, but it’s to be determined as to well they’re as to if they’re actually going to go ahead and make it happen. According to one highranking Mets person, nan is deemed as offlimits. He is untouchable, but the Mets could still tempt the Tigers with some combination of pitchers Jonaton, Brandon Sprro, Jet Williams, other top ranked players in the system. And this is the big name that really stuck out to me. Carson Benj. Now, let me make this clear. I love Carson Bench to death. He is the Mets top outfield prospect for those that don’t know. He was fantastic this past season that we saw. He began the year in high and finished it in AAA. He was awesome all around. And David Sterns has spoken so glowingly a bench that the expectation is that he may very well crack this Mets outfield out of spring training. So, why would the Mets at all and any mind, including myself, come to the conclusion that it’s in their best interest to trade their number one top outfield prospect for a rental starter? As amazing as Scubble is, and you guys know I love him to death, and I’m willing to basically unload the dump truck for someone like him, but it comes down to the following. You do not trade someone like Carson Benj unless you are going to be adding quality outfielders this off season which essentially block Benj from having an immediate future. And that may very well be the route the Mets find themselves going down. I know that is a really hard thing to fathom at the moment cuz I’m not trying to pitch you on oh David Sterns is for certain going to do this. David needs to prove to the fan base including myself and including in thousands of you guys watching right now that he knows exactly what he’s doing. Now, whatever his so-called master plan is, that is in fact going to be for the betterment of the club for 2026 and beyond. But knowing that not only are the Mets curling mulling and pondering as to should they go all in on this or shouldn’t they is telling that we may very well see Terrick Scoal traded this off season. Of course, John Haymon did also highlight that the Dodgers, you can’t count them out in this kind of conversation. They have assets and while they don’t have as deep of a farm as the York Mets and this is me speaking now, they obviously have plenty MLB ready talent that I’m sure the Tigers would be enticed by to a degree. So all I’m telling you guys is if TKO gets traded to out of all teams the LA Dodgers really no point in watching next season unless you just want to watch for the sake of enjoying baseball and that be that. But let’s break down more in ter let’s break down here what it means if the Mets were to do a package in the realm of what Haymon was suggesting. again, Carson Benge, Jet Williams, Jonah Tom, Brandon Sprro, literally giving up the top four prospects in the Mets organization outside of Nola Mlan. Here’s the thing, though. If you want the back-to-back reigning Scion award winner, the best pitcher in baseball, especially out of the American League and Derek Scubble, that’s what it’s going to have to take. There’s no other exception because the Mets are not going to be the only team going after Scooble. They may have the most attractive assets for the Tigers, but the Tigers of course in their right mind are going to weigh all options imaginable to deem what is best fit for them if they’re going to trade away their star talent who almost had a seven award season this past year. Meaning that Terrick Scuba alone accounted for almost seven individual wins as a player as a pitcher. That’s unbelievably good. He’s jaw-droppingly good. He had a 100 strikeouts just on his change up alone this year. He touches 98 to 100 on the gun consistently. one of the best fast balls in the game. There is so much to love about TK Scoal who finished just under 200 innings each of the past couple seasons for the Tigers and his back-to-back Saiion award-winning seasons for the Tigers. And school is looking for at least 400 plus million dollars in the pending market a year from now. And mind you, that market is going to be held up big time because we have a pending lockout more than likely happening because of the drastic divide in the CBA between the players union and obviously the ownership group. And that is actually a reason as to why the Dodgers might be a bigger threat than we initially realized. Knowing that there’s likely going to be harsher penalties on spending after the next CBA eventually agreed upon, however, however long that takes, there’s an adamacy to really focus on a win now stage and a buy in while you can. That not only holds true for the Dodgers, but it should also hold true for the Mets if they’re actually staying true on trying to better the club for 2026. Now, I know you say to yourself, Wardy, how can they bear the club after Louisiana Diaz and Pete Alonzo? And quite frankly, your guess is as good as mine. But that’s why we’re here to break down all the potential options to kind of rectify or shrup these areas for this club cuz in the meantime, this Mets team isn’t even sniffing 70 wins next year. But again, it’s December 11th. It is not spring training. I understand a lot is going to happen from now up until that point. And TKO, guys, I mean, we I’ve shown you the baseball savant numbers constantly. He’s almost in the 100th percentile and essentially everything. What isn’t there to love about TKO? The only thing that there isn’t a love about Terrick Scobble is the fact that he’s a pending free agent. But never in a million years would I anticipate, and you guys may feel differently, but I am never going to venture to guess that if the Mets trade for Tercoel that they would let him walk. Like that is so counterintuitive. It makes absolutely no sense. Furthermore, the Mets would not trade for TKO without clearly going allin as soon as next season. Otherwise, they should do the logical thing, which is wait until he hits the free agent market, which if the Mets are not going all in next season, as much as I want them to, and that at all comes to fruition where they’re not going to be as serious as we’re hoping, then okay, don’t trade the farm. Don’t trade for Scooble. But the farm is so deep for the Mets right now, the best it’s ever been positioned. The Mets, of course, came up short on Garrick Crochet a year ago with the Red Sox. This is how you write the ship, by landing a star. Not just any star, but literally the best pitcher in the game. the best that we would have seen in this rotation since a healthy Jacob Deg Grom which you know Jake of course was great while he was injuryprone in those years but when I think of 2019 Jake or so the last time he pitched 30 starts for the Mets that’s what essentially the Mets would be getting schoolable if not better a guy that can give you at least 30 starts a year north of 200 innings going six seven eight innings consecutively every single time he’s out there he checks off every single box that this rotation needs and the best part the Mets can trade four or five of their top assets in the farm and not lose sleep over it. And you want to know why? Because their farm is so deep. The Mets have an abundance of riches and starters. If we separate guys like Noah Mlan, Christian Scott, Jonah Ton, and Brandon Sprro, the four horsemen that you guys know most. Let’s not forget guys like RJ Gordon, Jonathan Sanucci, Jack Wigger. The list goes on and on. We got Zack Thoron in there if I didn’t say him already. Um, there’s probably at least one other starter that I’m currently blanking off at the moment. The Mets have at least four, five plus other starters with immense upside in the farm right now. And all this is going to cultivate to them making smart but exciting decisions eventually at some point by trading away these key assets for the better for the single point of actually going ahead and landing a blockbuster trade like this for example. So, Mets fans, if this in fact holds true, that everyone not named Nolan Mlan is essentially up for grabs in a trade for school, is this something that you are willing to go ahead and do, or is this something that you are very reluctant for the New York Mets to go out of their way to try to make come to fruition because you do not believe it’s in the best interest of the organization, even in a world where they see all their other areas of need. Again, for me, I desperately want Scooble, but I agree with the contingent Mets fans, which is the following. You don’t trade for Scooble if you’re not planning to go all in next season. It literally makes zero sense. Just wait until he hits the free agent market. But if you are, if you’re planning to add a top outfielder or two, especially that would justify trading Bench because then you’re then blocking him. If you say land a controllable outfielder and maybe someone that you signed in the Fraser market, whether it’s a Cody Bellinger, who I know the Mets still really like according to John Haymon and is reporting as of today, as well as Kyle Tucker to a higher degree, but Tucker feels more of a pipe dream at this point in time until proven otherwise. and the Mets do go down those relative routes for top outfielders but land two outfielders this off season that clearly are justified to play every day. Where’s the room for Carson Benj? It isn’t anywhere. And that is what would justify the move in my opinion. Otherwise, you don’t trade Benj. He’s no. He’s my favorite prospect in the organization. You do not get rid of that man. You don’t even do anything close to it. But given this uncertainty, I definitely want to hear from you guys again the pros, the cons, and your thoughts in the comments down below. Now going on from talking about Carson Benj because Carson Benj and Terk Scubble because I can go on and on and on and tell you how much I love TKO to death with that 2.2 Ray and 195 innings 11.1K per nine one and a half walks per nine. He is chef’s kiss. He’s everything you want in a pitcher and then some. And he’s a flamethrowing dominant southpaw. Something the Mets don’t have. Sham Mania ain’t that. David Pearson ain’t that. Ter Scooble most certainly is that. But let’s get on now to our next topic in this one everybody. I’m going to be very brief on this. I’m only going to take two seconds on it. Um, let’s see here. Uh, we did see John Hmon say that Diaz did have longer offers from other other teams and can’t blame anyone who picks the Dodgers. There’s a missed opportunity by the Mets. My reply to this again is it doesn’t matter if other teams offered more than three years for Edwin Diaz. As soon as Edwin Diaz got the contract he was initially looking for this off seasonason, which was to make him again the record-breaking highest average annual value of per year for a reliever in MLB history and his payout, as long as he was getting that from the Dodgers, that’s all he was looking for. As soon as the Dodgers approached him with a dollar amount that he was comfortable with, nothing else mattered. That’s why he didn’t circle back to the Mets. That’s why the Mets, even though that they had more to spend on him, he chose not to circle back to them. That’s why he turned down even more years from other clubs. What do the Dodgers have that no other team in baseball has? Back-to-back World Series championships, endless MVPs, endless aces, a star-studded club. They have separated themselves significantly from the next best in baseball until proven otherwise. Another quick tidbit of just a thing to say. We have here Mr. Yes, this is from Eric Chavez’s Instagram. Um, he answered a bunch of fans in a Q&A. He did state how guys like Lindoran Sodto are actually friends. He did state, you know, that, you know, um, some positive things on the front of Steve Cohen, or at least it appeared that way, David Sterns, and also some other comments that I’m just like, all right, whatever, Chavez. But this one honestly bothered me because I was advocating all year long to fire Eric Chavez. I was heavily advocating for him to be fired. I even was doing it in my New York Post sports studio segment that I did there uh, with a good friend of mine over the past couple months, right around midsummer. and he states here, “Well, sometimes things just ha uh just need to happen.” Honestly, I contemplated telling Sterns to just fire me mid-season to light a fire. That’s something that I really wish Eric Chavez did in hindsight. Kind of feels like it’s BSA saying this now, but I really wish if that’s true that he actually would have done that cuz maybe, just maybe, the Mets would have learned a clutch gene with their offense in the second half of the year. Maybe they would have made playoffs and maybe Edwin Diaz would have been enticed to actually return after having another deep playoff run instead of the Mets falling short and David Sterns for rightful or wrongful reason deciding to blow it up with the score to a greater magnitude than maybe what we initially thought heading into the offseason. But that’s all I have to say about Chavez. He’s a schmuck and I’m standing by that. Now here here’s some big news. Now I talked about this in last night’s live stream, but I’ll say it again. The Mets have approached the Cardinals about a trade for Wilson Contrarus and states the following and I quote, “With the Cardinals already fielding several calls about Brennan Donovan and Jojo Romero, they were queried by the Mets with interest in Contrarus per source after first baseman Alonzo left for the Orioles. Contras is expected to wave his no trade clause to play in New York.” Now, that’s interesting to me. So, if he’s already expected to wave his no trade, maybe this is already picked up some steam to the point that it’s going to happen. You know, cuz Contrarus is someone that initially when I first saw that I was like, I don’t love the idea of Wilson Contrarus as a first base option, but I also don’t love anyone as a first base option that isn’t Pete Alonzo because no one can replace Pete Alonzo’s true power. Yes, he’s a defensive liability, no doubt about it, but I still love Pete, especially as a human being, and he will surely be missed. But as soon as we get out of the mentality on, oh, the Mets need to replace Pete when they’re not going to be able to replace Pete the way we want him to. The Mets already knew this. They already had this plan. So clearly what they’re playing to do is to not find a Peter Lowza replacement at first who can bring you the same amount of home runs because there’s no one out there that can do that. But it’s about balancing this lineup both offensively and defensively where everything will be sound and check out in the end where it will be okay that they don’t have a first baseman that slugs for 40 home runs consecutively. Now again, I may not agree with letting Allonzo walk, and I stand by that. But if Sterns can prove me wrong and actually go ahead and make drastic moves this offseason for the better, then it’s more palatable if this team actually looks good on paper heading in next season. Right now, it looks putrid. But to expand more on Contrarus, just for those that are unaware as to what you get in a talent like him, again, there’s a lot of appealing things with someone like Contrarus. But the most appealing thing to me is the fact that in his first season as a catcher turn first baseman, mind you, in 2025 at the age of 33, oh my god, did Wilson Contrarus do great things. He not only had 20 home runs and 80 RBI’s on a depleted Cardinals lineup and put up a roughly three- war season with a 24% above league average as a batter slate, but when you take a look at his defensive metrics, this is what rings true about Wilson. Far more than literally anything else. 91st percentile and outs above average. Are you kidding me? Wow. So, in his first year at first base, he’s one of the best defensive first baseman in baseball. That is so impressive. For comparison and contrasting, Allonzo is in the second percentile, arguably the worst defensive first baseman in baseball. We know Sterns values defense and we know Contrarus has been a very steady bat. He has pretty much sat 20 home runs north of 80 RBI’s every single season in his career since around 2016. It’s been a decade of the exact same product and what you’re getting every single year at Wilson Contrus as a batter. He’s been very steady and I like that consistency. I also love knowing that he apparently actually is down to come here. You want players that want to come to New York and are not going to shy away from the big picture, from the bright lights. And that is most certainly not him. He ain’t shying away. N 95th percentile in bat speed, 76th in sweet spot, 83rd in hard hit, 86th in barrel percentage, 85th in expected slugging, 87th in exo xwoba, 77th in fielding run value, 71st in batting run value. There is so much to love here about Wilson Contreras. Yes, his whiff rates are a little down, but again, he’s going to swing to miss a lot. You know, P Lonzo swing to miss a lot, too. I don’t think we’re worried about that now. So, Contrarus, if the Mets can swing a trade for him, that’s feasible. Maybe this is a kind of a need for need where maybe the Mets get creative and trade one of Kodai Sanga or David Pearson in the St. Louis Cardinals, especially if you’re landing more than just say someone like Wilson Contraras. But furthermore, guys, just to expand my final thoughts on Wilson before we get on to the next player and today’s video, what I’m most enticed by is the fact of not only how steady he’s been, how elite he’s been defensively, but the fact that he wants to be here. I cannot amplify that enough. The Mets are a hard sell, especially to players on the Frasier market right now because outside of dollars and outside of great family hospitality, they have nothing to sell when it comes to immediately trying to win a championship. At least what we know to this point, because they don’t have any great track record. They’ve only made playoffs twice under the Steve Con regime and it’s really only once because who’s thinking about the 2022 Mets that got curb stomped in the wild card against the Padres’s. I’m not, nor are you. The 2024 Mets were a magical amazing run that we will always appreciate, especially now knowing that core is no longer with us. But the point is is that the Mets need to find consistency and in doing so, they’re going to do their best to try to balance both offense and defense and all their areas of need. So don’t be surprised that whoever they find themselves landing in the outfield, whether it’s Bellinger and or others, they are going to be doing it for the sake of making sure that these guys actually know how to defend well and are at least above league average as a bat. Or at least that is the hope because when we go from someone like Wilson Contrarus that you guys see here to then getting into another player that the Mets have been connected to separately that we saw from Wol Sammon of the Athletic as of yesterday. The Mets don’t find themselves having um pardon me not don’t find themselves but if the Mets would like to land more than just Contrarus in a deal with the Cardinals another player that they have been connected to is Lars Nupar. And I’ll be completely honest by saying I’m not a huge fan of Lars Nupar just because if you land him for the outfield and he has upside. He has an elite eye at the plate. He’s actually a very early younger Brandon Nemo in certain ways. And it’s kind of ironic saying that because he’s a lefty bat with somewhat of a similar followthrough in his swing that you guys see right there. Nar who won the WBC gold for team Japan. Yes. With Shiot Otani Monuak Murakami, Yoshino Yamamoto and everyone else in company. An infectious personality. People seem to like him quite a bit. He’s what, four or five years younger than Brandon Emmo currently. So I think the Mets like the idea of buying in on someone like him who’s a part of a depleted lineup. Had just under 800 OPS a couple seasons ago. Put up very good numbers with a 260 average and of course is a solid base runner at least then. And since then he didn’t have a good year this year. Had just under 700 OPS this season. I’m not trying to sell you on him being a fantastic fit for this outfield because again you don’t trade Carson Benj for a guy like Lars Nar to be the replacement essentially. However, if you land Nar and you get kind of creative on what his role is going to be, it’s a bit more palatable for me depending on again the circumstances of someone like him. All I’m trying to say is while Nar is not a terrible option, a terrible player, I’m not sold on a player like him if you’re bringing him in to again essentially be the NMO replacement and not do enough allocation of offense around the rest of the team. As you guys see from Newar’s numbers here, they’re very good when looking at his fantastic approach to the plate. Especially when you look at the following. 87th percentile in hard hit, 79th in average exit velocity, 87th in chase percentage, 79th in scored up percentage, 68th in bat speed, 80th in walk percentage, 81st here that we see in arm strength. Plenty to like about Lars Nupar on that front. No denying the other numbers aren’t too great that you guys see above there. A little bit below league average, but Lars Nupar does feel like a guy that definitely is going to be a great change of scenery candidate. I feel like he’s destined to be a 20 plus home run hitter with north of 75 80 RBI’s with a team with a deeper lineup. He would have that with the Mets as long as they continue to build outside of Lindor and Sodo. If they don’t, then again, this reaches a moot point. But Nar, if you’re going to package him with Contraras, I think that again can be more palatable. And the Mets are going to say trade away one of those starters for other areas of need. And then in turn, make sure you properly add to the rotation by going ahead and trading for a TK Scubble or signing a Michael Kane and a Fram Valdez or something along those lines where you’re actually adding quality and substance to this rotation and not guys that are just going to continue having you moving lateral at absolute best. Mets fans, let me know your thoughts on both Wilson Contraras and Lars Nupar. Especially Lars again in a deeper lineup. I see the upside, but I’m not nearly as sold on him as maybe I am some other outfield options headlined by Cody Bellinger and Kyle Tucker obviously that maybe are more pipe dreams at this point to be determined. I think the Mets love Cody Bellinger that continues to be reiterated. I think the Mets just don’t want to go six or seven years on Bellinger, but maybe in a role where he finds himself four or five years that could be had because let’s be honest, Belly doesn’t deserve six or seven pause. But I don’t exactly know if that market is presented to him like that or is his market shrunken a little bit, isn’t as robust, and if he falls more in that four, fiveyear category, I think the Mets would have be silly not to swoop in and land that man because he’s elite defender in all other areas, left, center, right, and first base. So versatile, handled the great New York market well in the Bronx. And yes, his home and road splits fluctuate quite a bit, but Bellinger has a lot of the upside that I know Sterns is looking for in player profiles currently. So don’t be shocked if you guys see it happen. But we have one other batter that I’m going to talk about real briefly and then we’re going to talk briefly about Rogers and get out of here everybody. And is the following, Mr. Brennan Doyle. The Mets have been connected to Brennan Doyle. And in case you guys do not know Brennan Doyle, Doyle has been the outfielder that we have seen for the Colorado Rockies. And as you see from these numbers, the offensive numbers aren’t all that great. He was horrendous. 65% on the WRC Plus, almost 40% below league average as a batter this past season for the 27year-old. But here’s a couple benefits of the doubt for Brendan Doyle. They are as follows. One, Doyle has only been in the league for three seasons. Two, he’s on one of the worst teams imaginable in Colorado. So even if you’re in a batters pox, because of course the ball flies and cores, doesn’t change the fact that if you know you have no protection, it’s not easy to hit. And the most important thing I want to amplify is twofold. One, look at this. This is why the Mets are in his market. And it was reported the Mets are among teams in his market according MLB trade rumors as of yesterday. 91st percentile outs above average, 99th in arm value, 97th in arm strength, 96 in sprint speed. He’s quite literally one of, if not the best defensive center fielder in baseball, and he would overtake right away Tyron Taylor. What is that low bar and center? I’d be more than fine with Brennan Doyle, especially right now at our configuration, looking like Tyron Taylor’s going to be our opening day center fielder. But there’s another wrinkle of this cuz Brennan Doyle had a really good 2024 season. So, why did Brennan Doyle fall off a cliff with his bats so much outside of being in a really bad lineup? Well, here’s a simple answer, guys. Unfortunately, this is very sad news. Brennan Doyle, him and his wife unfortunately had a passing other unborn baby right at the start of the season this year. He announced on social media, I believe it was around April, right in the start of the year, he finds out that when they were expecting to have their second child, that that child was no longer with us. So, not only do I feel terrible for him, his wife, and his family, but I’m sure that loomed large over him and wait on him quite a bit in the season because that happened right when the expectation was that he was going to be having his next kid right then and there as the season was beginning. Look at that great catch by Joel. He’s an amazing defender. But instead of that happening, what happens to Brennan Doyle? Oh yeah, that happens to him. So, terrible news, justified news as to why he had a down 2025 season. And if you think otherwise, you’re just a piece of garbage. But that goes without saying. Brennan Doyle, what am I most enticed by with him? It’s not only his elite defensive ability and elite base running ability, a guy that could be consistently stealing 30 to 40 bags for you cuz he had 30 stolen bags that we saw in the 2024 season. But folks, Doyle’s numbers from 2024 ring true as to what you’d be getting, especially in a deeper lineup. And he reeks of a guy that has all the upside in the world to take another gear, another next level in his play. Mind you, of the Colorado Rockies in 2024, Brandon Doyle had 23 home runs, 82 runs scored, 72 RBI’s, 30 stolen bases, a 260 average, a 317 on base, a 446 slug, good for league average, a 3.64 player. We are taking that every single day of the week. And this Mets center field, oh my god, would that be an upgrade over the Harrison Baders, the Tyrone Taylor, the Jose series, and as of late, the Jeff McNeels. They all pale in comparison with a guy like Doyle who brings everything to the table that you want, has plenty of club control, and is someone who has yet to hit his peak in his career. If the Mets are going to get creative about their center field options, Brennan Doyle honestly might be one of the most sneakiest guys that they find themselves after. I’m more than content with him in center as long as you land a star in that corner outfield, which would further push Carson Benj out and warrant a trade. Again, I don’t want to see Benj. of the Mets. If the Mets are going to bring Brien Doyle, I can’t settle with him being our lone outfield acquisition because Carson Benj has a lot of uncertainty still. And I think the Mets are banking on too much uncertainty heading into next season to be a shorefire guaranteed thing. And I feel that way more so because of the uncertainty with the Mets infield right now, their outfield, pardon me, their infield, their bullpen, their rotation. They need to shore up these other areas before I can feel comfortable saying, “Oh, you know what is it is okay if Brandon Doyle is just the one guy that they land in their outfield.” right now. I can’t say that in confidence. But last but not least, everybody, let’s get on to the final player that I want to highlight in this one. I’ll be very brief on this cuz I’ve talked about him extensively already, like uh too much, I almost feel like, but there’s rightful reason because he’s a one of my favorite players in the league, b was one of my favorite players in the league prior to him landing with the New York Mets. And now that he landed with the New York Mets in the traded line and did as good as he did, guys, we got to bring Tyler Rogers back. The Mets want Rogers back. Hopefully Rogers has a level of interest in returning. His mark is unbelievably robust right now that we know. But look at these numbers. He’s literally the most elite reliever in the game when ground ball when looking at 98th percent ground ball percentage, 95th in hard hit percentage, 100th in barrel, 100th in block percentage, 99th in average exit of velocity, 96th in expected array, 95th in pitching room value, 96th in fast ball run value. Handled the New York market without a problem when he was trade here. Didn’t fall off a cliff and of course looked like he had no clue what he was doing, i.e. Ryan Helley and after a couple outings, Gregory Sodto. Tyler Rogers is a lone man at the deadline the Mets need to bring back. He ate almost 80 innings this past season. He consistently eats 70 plus innings per year. He’s a workhorse. He sits 84 in his fastball, but it does not matter. He’s the only true submarine reliever in baseball, especially as a lead as he is, you have to bring him back. He’s the perfect seventh inning guy. At times you could throw him in the eighth, but you really want him more in that seventh inning role. He is a fantastic weapon. I loved him with the Mets. I loved him for many years with the San Francisco Giants. Goes without saying, you gotta bring back the subreader. And just to refresh you guys in case you guys are unaware how amazing Tyler Rogers looks with his release point, his delivery, please take a look at the following of him striking out Pete Alonzo right there. Okay, so let’s start with that. Then let’s get into the fact that oh yeah, O’Neal Cruz not a problem. See you. It’s 84, but it’s like a rising fast ball because he starts so low. Then there is him him striking out Fry for the Cleveland Guardians as a New York Met. Mind you, Tyler Rogers is a bulldog. He’s everything that you want from a seventh inning player. Please bring this man back to the New York Mets. Mets fans, let me know all your thoughts in the comments down below on everything that that we broke down this one. 1. So sick and tired of the “defensive liability” BS about Alonso. A first baseman’s main defensive priority by far is scooping errant throws and Alonso wasn’t only good at that, he was ELITE. Any veteran mlb first baseman would confirm that in a heartbeat.

  2. This is STUPID. Vientos lost 3 games by himself for Defense. McNiel lost 1. That's IT!!!! Yes there have been errors but loosing Games that the pitching or Offense couldn't overcome is saying your wife cheated because she was mad at you. No your wife cheated because you guys weren't Married!!!!

  3. The problem I see is Stearns does not hand out long term contracts to pitchers.
It seems to me that the Mets are in rebuild mode. They will not be signing anyone this off-season. If you ask me I would be trading away Lindor as well.

  4. If you think you're going to trade for Skubal and not give up your top OF prospect your delusional…. why would would detroit Seatle for less if they got almost every other team property offering them not one but two two prospects… honestly I don't think detroit is going to trade him now, I think they'll wait until the trading deadline which teams are more desperate for him and they can get more

  5. Hell No! You just weaken the farm for a rental who will be wasting a yr. All those prospects could contribute to the team this yr. Even if they don't, there's the future that they could control. If the mets were a player or 2 away & had multiple close to major league ready. Those players are very close, imho.

  6. Why would skubal want to come to the Mets when they just lost 217 RBIs and 68 hr . What are we doing are we rebuilding ( with a 750 mil invested in a designated hitter or an outfielder if that’s what you call him) I don’t think so . Why would we give away our farm and future when it seems like we are rebuilding 😮 so what is it rebuilding or not this team is a mess we will be the jets of MLB.

  7. The Mets fit the Padres more as a trade partner since the Padres are in a ownership transition phase and are looking to lower payroll.

The Mets are in perfect position to take on bad contracts to acquire better players.

Can the Mets pull off this trade

    Lindor
    Alvarez
    Jett Williams
    Baty

    Tatis Jr
    Bogarts
    Merrill

  8. Do you how bad you think this cheap fuk Sterns is spending 400+ mil and 8 + years for Skubal? He is not spending that kinda money. Just stop. False hope. Sterns logic kills me. So, you don’t want Alonso signed until age 35, but you’ll trade for a 35 year old 1b who is worse and signed for 3 more years. Yeah, great plan.

  9. No way sterns build the farm in 4 years to trade it away for a rental with 2 Tommy John asking for 400mil in his 30s soon. No way. I’d rather keep our starters and see them blossom

  10. Wardy if we are trading sprout tong benge and Williams we would need to get Torkleson or Riley Greene/Kerry Carpenter back as well fill two holes with our assets otherwise take out Benge throw in Ewing or Clifford and hope they bite
