Deniz Selman: Eagles really love snapping the ball late in the play clock. Mailata pointed it out W4 but its barely improved

  1. “Going to reevaluate everything” proceeds to change not even the obvious little things

  2. I’ve been mad about this for a while. We don’t need to go full on Chip Kelly blitzkrieg but a little urgency keeps the defense on their heels.

  3. Not even so much when they snap it as when they get to the line. Most of the time they’re breaking the huddle with sub 10 seconds and rushing to the line. Hurts is a veteran QB at this point, giving him no time to read the defense on the line of scrimmage makes absolutely no sense.

  4. Just straight unacceptable.

“No matter what you do, its this late in the season and things won’t get better” yes it can! Just getting the calls in faster so Jalen can actually do things at the line like last year WILL be better.

  5. I’m sure they ran some algo that made them think fewer possessions is likely to tip a couple points to the Eagles.

  6. Now show the stat where they go without motion. This offense just looks and feels so stale. Not fun to watch at all.

  7. Just another extreme… This team has a very clear identity. Be in the top of every bad category possible.

  8. Does anyone have data from previously years under Nick. Because i feel it’s been like this for a while i always assume they were just trying to eat the clock because we been playing with a lead for the past few years.

  9. Maybe they think it’s just unfair to a run up the middle at a high play tempo, gotta let the defense have their fair chance to get set and know when the snap happens (I hate this)

  10. Well there’s that one team higher than us. Trumedia is it? Is that an expansion team?

  11. Ive noticed over the weeks that with our talent the problems are fixable. Yes, proper execution has slipped at times, but overall It falls on coaching when its multiple little things needing to be corrected. Unfortunately, i think we dont have the right coaching in place to correct its mistakes offensively bc I just dont see the offense hitting its absolute peak under KP. The floor is low as well as the ceiling. Wtf happened to that fucking nasty? That offensive firepower and hunger to put it on the opponents throat– For sure we are missing that goddamn Nasty.

It would be nice to be pleasantly surprised.

  12. This is an underrated reason for why the run game has been so bad. Teams have been able to jump the count for basically free because they’re just going off the play clock

  13. This has been going on for years with a different play caller each year. Clearly hurts is just slow getting the play called in the huddle and there’s nothing they can do to fix it.

Same thing happened when Reid was here. He’s wasted timeouts all the time because the plays were in late and then mcnabb left and it stopped.

  14. In the Chicago gsme the announcers were pointing out thst Chicago would show a defense to make hurts adjust the play at the line. They would change it post snap and hurts would get confused.

  15. I really think it’s part of our “strategy” this year. Get a bare lead, then take as much time off the clock on offense as humanly possible to give the defense the best chance of holding it.

I just wish we were the kind of team that could take time of the clock by getting first downs, not by making a 3 and out take as long as possible.
