  6. Shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic for the Oilers with this move. The only thing that can effect the Oilers goaltending is the possible Jolt the room gets. Jarry is really no different from Skinner talent wise.

    Maybe the less brain farts of Jarry will be better, but brain farting a 3rd or 4th goal against vs just letting in a 3rd or 4th goal is really the same on the stat sheet, only changes the morale of the players

  8. Fans are so fickle. It was clear that the Oilers had a ceiling with Skinner.
    Sadly for them, Carey Price & Dominik Hasek weren’t walking through that door. Some people acting like they were going to get Shesterkin. Be real, you can only get who’s available.
    So, they are trying something. I can’t blame them. Does Jarry have a higher ceiling than Skinner? We’ll find out: maybe or maybe not. But at least the EDM brass are giving it a go.
    Perhaps the new surroundings will be good for Skinner, too.

  9. Soo edmonton slightly got better in net but weaker on defense?? As much as I think Edmonton needs a new goalie.. I’m not sure this is the right move.

    I think at the end of the day changes needed to happen and it’s a win all around.

  10. If Jarry is just consistently okay this is a solid if not very good trade for them. They just need a somewhat consistent goalie and they can be a contender. McDrai and Nuge can carry them through most games otherwise.

    Hopefully a change of scenery does them both well. Jarry can continue his turnaround year and Skinner gets some consistency in the right sort of ways.

    Half wanted skinner to take a step back to a 1b. 1/4 thought he was fine.
    Nobody is happy with this dogshit trade

  23. The Hawks were *probably* willing to let Brossoit go for a low low price of McDavid. Surprised they went with Jarry instead. Also kind of surprised it was Skinner that was traded and not Pickard from the rumblings we heard about earlier

  27. Oilers better upgrade their backup now. Jarry is a lateral move at best, with a higher cap hit and an injury history. Chances are too strong that Pickard starts the playoffs with Jarry on IR.

  28. I’m kinda pissed we got rid of Kulak. He was having a shit year but he’s usually a solid stay at home dman.

  29. Edmonton needs to stop giving up so many high danger chances. Swapping the goalie isn’t going to make a difference unless Edmonton plays different in front of him.
