[Amick] The Golden State Warriors’ open desire to acquire Trey Murphy III from the New Orleans Pelicans has put New Orleans “front and center” in the Jonathan Kuminga trade landscape.

  1. Is he worth 3 frps? Because that will likely be the price for us, as JK doesn’t have value and New Orleans doesn’t have a huge reason to trade their best shooter

  2. Now this is what im talking about, not that giannis shit which again has only 5 percent of happening and 95 delusion. If they can find a way to get him without that many picks involve thats good

  3. No way this is on the Pel’s Radar. Why would they want a ball-in-hand forward that can’t space the floor when they have Zion already? It would take multiple picks and no way Trey is worth all those assets.

  4. Kuminga, poole and looney on the same team? Maybe we should send them also podz for a decent center

  5. I mean id be shocked if many teams are interested in JK but then again some teams might also be thinking about his potential still. The way I see it is JK can still turn his career around on a different team because clearly he doesnt fit Kerrs system..

  6. Don’t forget we have Poole and Loon to further cloud Dummars judgement, let’s get it done!

  7. If NO is ok with accepting a package with Kuminga, 2028 and 2030 FRP I’m making the deal. Then I look at Curry’s health and consider signing him to a 1 yr extension for 2027-28. Which would make that 2028 pick not hurt as much if Steph is health enough to play one more season at a high level.

  8. Let’s stick to the important issues.

You can either have Trey or III in your name.  Not both!

He isn’t “Trey Murphy III”.  There aren’t two other Trey Murphys.  There are two other Kenneth Murphys.  He is Kenneth Murphy III or Trey Murphy.

I said my piece.  Carry on.

  9. I just don’t see how they’d swing it unless the Pelicans strictly care about future 1sts, or the Warriors manage to rope in a 3rd team that is genuinely interested in JK.

Dubs would have to send out additional salary due to the 2nd apron hard cap (would also be on the hook for another couple million with that trade kicker), so I guess maybe Podz or Will Richard act as a further sweetener? Seems they’d need to attach like 5-6M to JK just to land Murphy, so maybe they tie it into a bigger deal where they send out 3 players for 2 and string in one of Moody or Buddy?

Not sure about JK’s fit next to Queen, assume they’d want more of a shooter at the 3/4 (….like Murphy), so that’s why I’m thinking you bring in a 3rd team and reroute the return to New Orleans. Dubs do have the picks to offer, so maybe that alone is enough to get New Orleans to bite. Can get them a 1st for this year or next and then stock them with far off potential post-Steph picks and swaps.

Things would be much easier if they just drafted Trey Murphy when they had the chance.

  10. this is the first one that Im actually excited for and dare i say it, realistic?

him and herb jones are two of the players that i think we can realistically target

  11. Ultimately I feel like the Kuminga trade will end up being a multi-team trade and may even include more Warriors players than just Kuminga.

I am petty enough that beyond wanting to end up with Trey Murphy b/c I think he could really help the team I want the Warriors to end up with him as part of a Kuminga trade because of how much it will piss off certain fans of certain other franchises…

  12. Honestly it’s pretty cool to be on a graphic with Gianni’s and AD, putting aside all the drama

  13. JK will be playing his heart out the next coming weeks with all this trade talk looming over him, facing adversity he will wake up and become the player the warriors always wanted.

  14. Steph/Melton/Trey/Jimmy/Dray sounds like a great crunch time lineup. And we can throw Post or Horford out there if we really need more size. But Trey would be a huge help for spacing, and I think he could do better at rebounding if we asked it of him. He’s improved every season at rebounding and he definitely has the size and athleticism for it.

    This would be great.
