  1. I’m going to be different and say Luis Castillo but Tom Glavine is probably right. Honestly probably a lot of good answers. Roberto Alomar fits well. Frank Fransisco is a nice random one too.

  2. Started off hated ended loved?

The closest I could come up with for that is Loduca because replacing Piazza on two teams

Thought the first time it worked but wouldn’t a second time as he was the same age as Delgado but not as talented

  3. There’s already some good ones here, but I’ll add Kenny Rogers. I remember not loving the move at the time, and then fucking hating him when he walked in the losing run against the Barves.

  4. Vogelbach… fans split on that trade, supported by the analytics crowd. Proceeded to play so poorly no one supported him.

  5. Glavine

People weren’t sure about signing the ex Brave and everyone certainly hated him after the final game vs the Marlins. I still haven’t come close to forgiving him

  6. recency bias playing a strong part in this. I don’t see how Stroman was “loved” and hated, he wasn’t really a big deal in general here. same with the Vogelbach suggestions for this topic.

my pick for divisive/hated has to be Glavine, he came over as a lifetime Brave and while some were happy to steal him, I think everyone knew he would’ve rather stayed in ATL. Then his role in the 07 collapse confirmed everyone’s disdain.

  7. What was divisive about Beltran arriving and leaving ? We got him, he was amazing, and we traded him away for good prospects.

  8. Nobody loved Stroman when he got here.

    Also Beltran there? Really??

Anywho, this should probably be Jason Bay

  9. Oliver Perez easily. Fans didn’t think much of him when he started, and everyone hated him for his inconsistency by the time he was done.

  10. The Beltran pick is dumb. The only fans who have issue with him are trolls or lunatics who blame him solely for 06. He is arguably the greatest OF the Mets ever had and outside of his first season was consistently great.

What else is to dislike about him? — The Astros stuff? His like 2 years in with the Yankees?

Most Mets fan think of him positively, if not warmly
