[Gonzalez] If one team is willing and able to give Tucker the $400M he seeks, it’s the Jays, according to many agents and executives. The Jays are also expected to add a late-inning reliever, and several agents and execs view them as the favorites for Tucker or Bichette – or potentially both

  1. Just take Skenes from the pirates. What are they gonna do about it?? 🏴‍☠️

  2. Bro I’ll pay for the extra router just sign him already so I can enjoy the holidays without f5ing on Reddit of all things. Roger’s let’s go lol

  3. Just trying to see it happen. Been hearing variation of this same news for a week now.

  4. Looks like the Jays aren’t willing to give $400 just yet. And the Jays are probably outbidding themselves at this point. My guess everyone is around the $300-350 range.

  5. I’m choosing to believe Bo already has an agreement in place, they’re just waiting for Tucker’s decision and then they’ll announce them simultaneously.

Do I have anything to base this on? Absolutely not.

  6. If they get both. No one can ever say anything bad about this organization ever again. Even if they don’t get the results. They’re showing they want to win at all costs.

  7. As a hockey fan that joined the bandwagon and subbed here during the playoffs, this free agency dragging out all winter thing is wild to me. Makes me glad it’s all over with by like July 5th in the NHL lol.

  8. Say Jays add Tucker 35M, Bichette 25M and say Fairbanks 10M. Would put them above the third tax threshold. They likely are already going to be above the second threshold, so the only additional penalty is more money not loss of picks or anything.

If somehow we end up with Tucker and Bichette we need to move Lukes or Straw or Schneider. Likely 2 of 3. I assume they would package them together with something else to get a reliever.

  9. Jays have likely given an offer already for those screaming just do it already. This isn’t a video game where you make an offer and the player immediately signs or not. There’s likely negotiating going on

  10. Getting both is IMO the only real way to upgrade from last year, getting just one is basically running it back. I know there are long term impacts but for 2026 but essentially cease and ponce replace bassitt and Scherzer, something will be needed to replace Yariel, though maybe that internal promotion.

And signing bo or tucker basically replaces bo on the line up.

Getting both is the first real significant upgrade.

I get that cease is a big deal I’m very happy, but based on the numbers replacing bassitt for 2026 with cease is not the blow out upgrade that makes us unstoppable.

Something big I’d Bo and tucker less than that is running it back and hoping to maintain and improve internally.

  11. I wanna believe there’s a deal already in place and they just haven’t announced it yet.

  12. Breaking news.

Team heavily rumored to be spending money on big name free agent might be spending money on big name free agent.
