Game Highlights: Predators 7, Blues 2

It’s amazing what can happen in two weeks. And now he’s back in the NHL with his former club against Ryan O’Reilly here. And the opening faceoff won by the Blues driven down into the Nashville zone. Here we go. First of four straight in the Central. Three points out of a playoff spot. Middle again. And that’s Humang. It fell off his stick. Roberg defends a twoon one. Wood in center shot save, but the rebound bounces in. Camp. Watch Justin Faulk. The defender joins and then that turnover right there catches four Blues bodies backwards. Now all of a sudden National’s got the twoon-one. Folk gets caught because the Casamaki turnover as Andy mentioned in the pregame show. Played four years at Western Michigan for Andy Murray, former Blues coach. What a play by right there helping out shot. What a save. Rebound Nashville to Jordan Bennington. You see it’s a twoon two. Watch the way Nashville gets on the offensive side. They get on the other side of Logan Mayu. All of a sudden McGee helps out down low. That’s all great. We’re all in a good spot. Brings it back to Pareo. Gets it off the wall. Back to D’Vorski. Tries to find some space. Goes to the line to Broberg. Roberg wheels it on the near wings to Candles. Goes in behind the net again. Comes out of the corner with it. Dances down low as he puts it to the middle. They score. Hubing. His first goal in the National Hockey League. And he’s got the Blues on the board. 4 minutes 17 seconds into the second period through the bomb robo cam. You’re going to see, watch Brober the one curl up. He’s going to curl up again right there. All right, he loses him and all of a sudden he’s going to find a little space to the middle for Robbie Fabry with a dandy of a pass. Watch this one touch by Robbie Fabry right there. Just the one touch to set up Hume in the middle to Evangelista. Back to Forsber. What a nice play to Yosi trying to go into space. It’s kicked away by Fowler. Nashville gets it back. They shoot. They score. Bennington was screened and went on the ice. And the Predators get the two goal lead back. Brian O’Reilly. Here’s just the movement. Look at the interchanging, the overlapping, the drop passes, the giving, the go, the tic-tac-toe. And then right at the very end, Evangelisa right into the hand. Thomas goes to center. That’s blocked away and it’s bounced back to the wall. Fowler held it in but good support and the Predators clear. Free to twoon one. Evangelista down low. Forsber score. Four to one Nashville. [Music] Wow. This line does it again. A chance back the other way. Evangelisa to Philip Forsber. And they’re going to tidy that one up. No problem at all at the end of a Well, the big guns going for Nashville. So far tonight, Stamco with two. O’Reilly and Forsber with one. Stamco wheels it around back door. It deflects off Justin Faul and scores. That’s a hat-tick for Steven Stanos. His 15th career a delay here as the crews got to come out and pick up the hats and sometimes you just get the lucky bounce. Look at the puck protection right there by Steven Stamco as Justin Faulk is working on him. Maraso coming off the wall. Philip Rober into the high slot. They go Thomas. He scores. They get their second of the game. Robert Thomas snaps one in. 604 to go. Second period. Well, and you knew this was just a matter of time. He was just missing Broberg. A good puck retrieval by Jake Neighbors. They keep it around the horn. And then you’re going to see Philip Broberg right here. He’s going to find Thomas. It’s a quick little scoop. It’s a turn and a shoot. Look at Cam Fowler, too. He’s hanging in tough, but he looks exhausted as well. Look at his body language getting back to the net. Out there for a full minute. Second period. Wo is continuing to rear its head against the Blues. Here’s a shot deflected. Tapping. Score. Raiders get it back. It’s six-2. There’s Cam Follower right there. Look at him breathing. I mean, he’s exhausted. You got the lactic acid buildup once again. Roman Yosi from the outside almost identical to up to the blue line to Blankenberg. Back to Evangelist on the near side. Back door. They shoot and score. They get the power play goal as Bunting was left all alone to come down the weak side. Move it to the point. They’re going to get it back to him on the flanker. Watch the way he’s got his head up the whole way. You’re going to see the gap between Dylan H. 3 seconds to go in this one. Evangelista, the Predators pound the Blues. Blues await for a revenge game on Monday night. But in the meantime, the focus shifts

  1. We’re the boys out on the town in Nashville last night? Doug if you see this, please, hit the reset, trade the older guys, Buch, Schenn, Fowler, Binnington maybe even Parayko? Trade them while they have value. We aren’t competing for 2-3 years. Load up on assets and maybe Thomas and Kyrou can lead a true contender before they’re pushing 30.

  2. Just blow it up at this point. Blues have left their goalie out to dry all season with all the odd man rushes, puck watching and complete inability to defend against back door tap ins, and it finally caught up to them in this game. That post 4 nations hot streak last year was clearly a mirage, this is who the Blues are.
