Minnesota Twins should trade for Coby Mayo or Ryan Mountcastle ASAP
Kobe Mayo who turned 24 yesterday. Halfblade of birthday to Kobe Mayo under obviously control through the next dec uh through into the next decade and he’s hit just 204 with a 79 OPS in 102 big league games. I will say in September last year for Baltimore he finished strong uh 941 OPS hit 300 and going into last season he was a top 15 prospect in all of baseball. So, the B Baltimore has been loaded with a lot of these guys, but when he’s got an opportunity, hasn’t really shined. Again, now you signed Pete Alonzo. He he played third base coming up to the minor leagues, they put him at first base. They It doesn’t sound like they want to put him back at third. So, again, like where does he fit in if you just gave $150 million to Pete Alonzo? Now, you’re cooking with gas. This is the type of So, Ryan Mount Castle for like a year or two, it doesn’t move the needle all that much. the best season he’s ever had is like a two two and a half wins above replacement season. He doesn’t Cody Clemens was one win. You’d be maybe improving by like a win above above uh Cody Clemens level for a year in a short-term situation. The only way Bailey Ober for Ryan mountcastle makes sense is to extend him after the trade. Joe Ryan for Colby Mayo, Heston Kjerstad (gamble) and a pitching lotto prospect. That means you need to move Pablo Lopez to the Mets and Byron Buxton to the dodgers, I agree with Dex, you have to move Buxton First to start the domino effect.
Colby Mayo, Royce Lewis, Brooks Lee. Underachievers all. I’d rather see Lewis and Lee traded than Ryan.
Cody Clemens tanked because the team tanked and his future is uncertain. I think he's a good candidate for first base and giving him the full time job is probably how he plays better.
