I wonder if Verbeek tried to negotiate with the Canucks at all, or if it was a more direct process of only Vancouver and Minnesota. Thoughts on Hughes being in the Central instead of the Pacific now?

  3. Glad he’s not in the Pacific with Vegas. Overall a fair trade. I hope Verbeek makes some moves for a solid D.

  4. ZB and a 1st+prospect seems reasonable but surprised rossi got thrown in too. That seems a bit one sided for a year and a half of Quinn. They basically gave up like…two 1sts and a 2nd worth? For a long-term rental?

    If they win the cup this year and/or next it’ll be a genius move. Or it could be disaster. Guess we’ll see. Props to Allvin for selling high.

  7. Thoughts:

    The Central already was a wrecking ball with Colorado, Dallas and a red hot Minnesota. This increases that, there’s going to be some good teams going out early in the playoffs this year.

    Seems like a big price to pay for 18 months of Quinn, but I guess it makes sense for where the Wild are in their cycle. I suppose that’s the point, this is a trade that works for the Wild but it probably doesn’t work for a team like the Ducks at a different point in their competitive cycle.

    Probably good for us that we have most of our fixtures vs Vancouver still to play.

  8. All that to play Dallas in the 1st round and lose is crazy. I respect going for it but you can’t win the cup without elite centers.

  10. Overpaid, Thats 4 players from the 1st round for a rental. Canucks fans should be happy with this.
