Full Quinn Hughes trade

  1. In my 31 years of cheering for the Canucks, I’ve never wanted to become a fan of a different team more badly.

This management is an absolute clown show.

  2. The Canucks got a haul here. 2C, 1RD, a depth winger with 1st round talent and a 1st round pick. That’s massive

  3. Holy shit dude. That is about as good as a return they could get. But still, trading the second best defenseman in the league? Hard to win that trade

  4. Nice be nice having an ownership that isn’t afraid to ^(finally) go full rebuild mode with McKenna waiting and a deep draft.

  5. The central is a bloodbath. Colorado, Minnesota, Dallas. Winnipeg is screwed, they don’t have the speed or horses to keep up with those other teams.

  6. Maybe I’m just not paying enough attention to the NHL anymore. If this is a “fleece” for the Wild, what would have been a fair package for Hughes.

  7. I didn’t think they’d actually do considering how much weight they’ve put on him in recent seasons

  8. Central division thunder dome continues.

Arguably the three best defensemen at the current moment in the league all in one division.

    Cale. Miro. Quinn.

  9. Apparently I’m in the minority, but I feel like Vancouver won this trade BY A MILE. They were never winning with Hughes and he’s gone in 1.5 years regardless. They just got Buium, who is going to be a superstar, Rossi, who isn’t a terrible player AND a first. Plus, this trade makes them worse this year, which all but solidifies a top 4 pick in a very good draft. Vancouver just added some pieces to its future and Minnesota went all-in on the next two seasons.

  10. Holy shit it’s real

Wild fan here. I really didn’t want to get rid of Zeev. I thought he had a lot of promise. Quinn Hughes is going to make a massive difference on this team, and he’s no doubt worth it, but we are kind of giving up the farm in a sense.

Rossi is a pretty good player and would make a solid 2C on any team. Öhgren has promise, but he hasn’t really gotten the time over here to get an accurate read. Zeev is a piss missile and I’m sad to see him go, since I expected him to be a part of our future D core.

This is a huge swing that I didn’t see coming. I guess we’ll see in time who the winner and loser of this trade ends up being.

  11. Am I crazy for actually liking this return? Buium is a potential 1D, Rossi is a young 60 point top 6 C we could flip for even more futures if we wanted, Ohgren is a young 19th overall pick and a 1st as well? For a 1.5 year rental that’s not as bad as I thought our management was gonna get bent over…

  12. Not a Canucks fan but, he is an elite player and point producer. What happened? Locker room issues, clash with management? Hopefully, what the Canucks got in return was worth it

  13. Other Wild fans: “we just got *fleeced*, we’re not contenders even with hughes and he’s just going to leave in two years!”

    Canucks fans: *on suicide watch*

    Me: vibe city 😎

  14. Quinn Hughes is Quinn Hughes but zeev buium could be anything. He could even be Quinn Hughes

  15. Four first round picks effectively. Nice haul. Buium has a great future.

Wonder if Quinn signs in NJ or Det in ‘27?
