The Minnesota Wild just ROBBED the NHL…

We have breaking news as the Minnesota Wild have just traded for Quinn Hughes in an absolute shocking deal going down literally seconds ago. Elliot Freeman, Michael Russo have all dropped some absolute bombshells. I’m going to be breaking it all down what we know at this point here. And if you’re watching this video right now, we will be live in a few moments. Ladies and gentlemen, before we do jump in very quickly, I ask you to hit the subscribe button if you haven’t already. I’m going to be keeping you up to date over the coming days and weeks with all of the fallout from this trade. New information that’s going to be dropping. Everything that we know will be right here on the channel. But let’s get straight into this. A few moments ago from Elliot Freeman, he dropped this bombshell. Breaking Quinn Hughes is being traded to Minnesota. Now, I was in shock. I was upstairs in my house. I saw this. I was speechless. Still am honestly. So bear with me for this video. But going into this, we knew the Wild were in the trade market. Quinn Hughes, honestly not on my radar whatsoever. I thought in the back of my mind it was possible, especially after everything that we have seen throughout this off season going around Marco Rossi, the Vancouver Conucks. We knew that something was brewing. We knew that the Canucks wanted Marco Rossi and that is a little bit of a hint as to who was in this deal. But nothing came out of it until right now. Bill Garren just pulled off something that I don’t think anybody thought was capable of happening. And from what we know right now, this may change, but this is an absolute steal going into it as well. Michael Russo also did confirm this. The Wild have made a blockbuster deal with the Canucks for Quinn Hughes. Believe Rossi. Plus other huge pieces are going the other way. Now, I’m still looking at everything here as this drops. It certainly seems like this plus more is going to happen. We know a few things. I just got another update here, but this is the believed return. Rossi, Zeve, Bulliam, and Liam Ogrren. This is an interesting pot. And as well as a first round pick is what I’m looking at right here on my phone, so bear with me. But going over all of this, a first round pick from 2026 has been added to these three players here. Now looking at this, this I think is a pretty even trade. Honestly, I’m very happy with Quinn Hughes. I think he is certainly a phenomenal fit here, especially for how young he is. But going over what the plan for the Wild over the next couple of years is, it frees up a lot of room for the prospects that this team has inside. And we know they have a lot. And that’s one thing that this team has been trying to maneuver and evaluate over the past couple of seasons. And especially now when you had Marco Rossi, everything that we dealt with him over at least the entire summer is what it felt like signing him to a 3year 5 million AAV deal. We thought the idea of him being traded eventually was always going to be there. This early did not cross my mind. And where the Wilder now having him out for majority of the season, Liam Ogrren still not really finding a spot on this team. and Zeph Boyham, a guy who we all love, we all love to see here, but still very young and still has a lot of potential, but would he turn into a Quinn Hugh style player down the road, I think was the biggest question for the Wild. And we knew Bill Garren liked to make these splashes as well as throwing in that 2026 first round pick. Things are absolutely insane right now. Now, Quinn Hughes is on an absolute steal of a deal. Let’s not forget this. 7.8 8 million for this year and next year before needing a contract extension. And the Wild would not do this if they’re not confident they would not get an extension. That’s where my mind is at right now. Could this change? Absolutely. They have a lot of time to work something out, but at the age of 27 when his contract is set to expire, 26 years old right now, he is that number one left defenseman for the Wild for years to come. We know that Jonas Broaddin, Jared Spurgeon are not getting any younger. So making a move like this for Quinn Hughes solidifies and relocks up this left side of the defense for the next decade plus gives the Wild a lot of leverage in that space to once again continue moving in these younger players but also continue getting players to come to Minnesota. They promised Kuro Capriav, hey we are going to get more guys. And yes, Marco Rossi was someone that was believed to be a part of that for the little, you know, the next little while. Zeve Boy as well, fresh out of a draft a couple years ago. But now they added that big name in Quinn Hughes. And I think the big question is what is that contract going to look like when he does require that extension? And we already gave Caro Capri off a monster contract. And I feel like this is something that Quinn Hughes is going to love to see. He’s going to love to see that the Wild, Bill Garen, Craig Leopold, this organization is willing to go out here and give these 17, 16, $15 million contracts if needed. And I think it’s a big thing Quinn Hughes is certainly taking a look at. Will he get that? There’s a very good chance he will, especially when you’re looking at the top paid defenseman in the NHL. Although contracts are moving north significantly, Eric Carlson is still the highest paid defenseman in the NHL. You’re looking at a guy like Rasmine who most recently started in 2024, Thomas Harley starting in 2026 around that $10.51 million range. Although this is in the future for at least two more years, this is still a big point of conversation right now as to what is going to happen with Quinn Hughes then. We know that cap space is going up, the Wilds, the NHL’s, all of it. But this is still one big thing that is a major part of this trade because of the possibility of this being a deal that only sees him here for two years. I really hope like that’s not the case. And like I said, I don’t think the Wild would have done this deal if they don’t believe they can make it happen. We know that at least some facet this team is ready to go with the buy everything happening. They’re doing it. This point right now has been reached and I feel like this is only the start of what the Wild are going to continue to do over the next couple of seasons. Now, Quinn Hughes has been absolutely fantastic. Let’s go back to 2023 and 2024. 92 points in 82 games, 76 and 68 last year. Currently little bit of slower pace, 23 points in 26 games. But the Canucks are not a team that anybody wants to be on. Not a team that can really hold any sort of playoff run with this package that they just got that will help them. But Quinn Hughes being gone now and they kind of knew that was happening. I think the Wild got a pretty solid deal here. And I want to know your guys’ opinion here in the comments below as well as in the stream that is going on right now or in a few moments if you’re watching this video as it is released. So we will be getting more information with all of this dropping. Things are continuing to heat up on this side of things. And with the defense now looking like Quinn Hughes, Jonas Broaddin, and Damon Hunt at this point right now, of course, some injuries are uh taking away from this team. This is a great sign. Brock Faber, Quinn Hughes, you know, Jonas Broaddin, Jared Spurgeon, Damon Hunt, Zack Begoian, Jake Middleton, you know, this is a very good-looking lineup. You have David, David Spot. You have these younger guys coming in. This makes a world of sense for the Wild, especially with a lot of players. Carson Lamos is another one I’m forgetting. Jack Per, so many young names available here. getting rid of some of these prospects may start to hurt, but this is an ultimate win in my book for the Wild, at least right now. And we’re going to get some more opinions as we go. But ladies and gentlemen, that is all I have here in this video. If you did enjoy, give it a like, hit the sub button as well, and let me know in the comments below right now what your opinion is here. It’s all I got. Thank you for watching, though. Hope you have enjoy and see you

  1. This sounded dumb to me. Great player! I just thought the price was too high. I changed my mind. We have solid shut down D but having an offensive threat like QH on the blue line may supercharge the current system without changing anything in the gameplan. Im so intrigued!!!

  2. Buium has not been impressive, and is not the offensive player they thought they saw in college. I'm fine w Rossi and the players going… the 1st rd pick was obviously the motivating factor for this deal. However, Wild are horrible w their 1st rd picks anyways, so I'd rather have the proven offensive abilities of Hughes and his youth. High price, but should payout high reward

  3. This trade was NOT A STEAL!! The Wild payed WAY TOO MUCH for Hughes. He is a great player but I think Zeev’s potential would be equal to or better than Hughes in a few years. Only time will tell? Even if the Wild win the cup I don’t think it will be because of this deal. Heck, the Wild just held Dallas to 18 shots with Zeev in the lineup.

  4. Anyone saying the wild overpaid doesn’t know hockey. The point of the game is to win the cup and when you have a chance at a player like this you take it! Franchise player with 2 years left and Billy g will not allow him to be just a rental. They traded 3 UNPROVEN PLAYERS. Zeev is good but his potential is at top 4 max. Look at the draft class and tell me otherwise. Marco Rossi isn’t consistent on or off the ice and ohgren is top 6 max and that’s even a stretch. Billy g well done!!!

  5. Canucks fan here, I’m happy for him to not be in our toxic media landscape.
I don’t think he’ll leave you guys to play in NJD, I do hope that you guys get to keep him after his deal expires.

  6. What is it with all MN GMs making absolutely stupid trades? Way too much for a player with 1.5 years left on his contract and no way he will stay. We should have gotten atleast 2 2nd round picks with it. Stupid GMs.

  7. Eastern kid – Eastern GM, Guerin will make every effort to resign for 8 years. Kaprisov is 28, Hughes 26, swinging for the fences now, not waiting for development of players. Seems like a fair trade – all big trades are gambles. I also feel Wild will make another trade for a top six player who can score. It’s game on in Minny going forward. Hated to see Buium leave, loved the kid at 19….
