Atlanta Falcons Vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Recap

The Atlanta Falcons stun the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 29-28. That is that is the best way to summarize this game. Um the Falcons go into Tampa. They pull off the improbable victory. And I’ll be honest, I thought there were a lot of times within this game uh that the Bucks were going to come out on top and they didn’t. And there’s a lot that has to be discussed um obviously because of the implications that this has within the uh you know with the playoffs here for for Tampa. We’re going to start with the with with Tampa Bay side. Um you know we will of course discuss Kyle Pitt’s absolute monster game tonight. So um the the biggest thing here is is within this game is you know we talk about takeaways just within games. We talk about implications for teams. Uh the Carolina Panthers are huge winners from uh I mean well I mean they have to play this week of course but just incredible man. I I mean Kyle Pitts let’s see it we here. Kyle Pitts the first tight end to have 150 yards and three touchdowns in a game since Shannon Sharp. Uh so obviously very very big for Kyle Pittz tonight. But with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you lose this game. You’ve lo you’ve now lost six of your last eight games. Um by the way quickly if you guys are enjoying please like the stream. helps tremendously. Would very very much appreciate it. Uh but you’ve now lost six of your last eight games and also within this by the way is you know there there’s been a lot of conversations about um Todd BS and should you know should the Bucks move on from Todd BS? I’ve talked about it that that I think the Bucks are between a good and great team on paper and a they’re they’re a team that also has a lot of questions at the head coaching position. And if you are stuck between a good and great team that that has a lot of questions at the head coaching position, I mean, barring a miracle, you’re not going to win a Super Bowl with with with the current coaching staff. So, for people that want to um that for for people that want to just even entertain the idea of bringing Todd Bulls back, I I would kind of ask what what what are you what does that what does that bring? uh since the ta since the San Francisco game in which they were five- one. Tampa’s fallen to seven and seven and you lost three straight games coming off the buy to the Patriots, Bills and Rams. You beat the Cardinals in a game where that wasn’t a uh that wasn’t really an inspiring win. So, and then you know you you beat the Cardinals, then you lose Sunday to the to the Tyler Shuckle led Saints. By the way, Tyler Shuck played really good in that game. credit to Tyler Shuck. And then you come out tonight and you lose 2928 to the Falcons and in a game where I I want to read some exact numbers here. Um and and by the way, what’s what’s even more I I I would say embarrassing for the Bucks within this game is Atlanta did a lot to try to hand you the game. Uh whether it was I mean there there’s countless examples here, but the Darnell Mooney fumble with a couple of minutes left to play. There were probably five or six jerseys right around that fumble. They didn’t recover it. That that’s just one of many, by the way. Um, then you have the fact that Atlanta, guys, 19 penalties for 125 yards, you lose. They come down, they they put up nearly 500 yards of offense, 29 points on the road, you lose. I I want to ask this question as as nice as I possibly can. What What does Todd Bulls bring to the point where where, hey, we got to keep him. We got to keep him around. Uh, now we’ll we’ll talk about, you know, Baker Mayfield and and and you know, there was one throw at the end on second and 14. Should Baker have made the throw? Yes. But I mean, here here’s here’s a here’s a spectacular here’s here’s just a grand idea. Don’t have your don’t be in that position to begin with, especially for a defensiveminded coach. Um, and I think that’s that’s probably the most frustrating part about this. Um, you know, like I said, you give up 24 points to the Saints Sunday, you give up 34 points to the Rams a couple of weeks ago, and if we’re being honest, uh, the Rams had 31 points at half. They they really let the they really call the dogs off, if you will, in the second half of that game. They they they the Bills put up 44 to or they put up 44 points on them a couple weeks ago. The Patriots put up 28 points. Your only win since your bye-week back in week nine is a win over a backup quarterback at home. that, by the way, you barely escaped, that you were outgainained by over a hundred yards. This is a bad situation, man. There there’s no way around it. Um, I want to quickly go through some super chats. I appreciate everybody being in here. Kirk Cousins, guys. Kirk Bald tonight. Uh Kirk finished the game 373 yards, three touchdowns. Good for Kirk, by the way. Uh Classen Gamer says, “Is it time to warm up the seat for Bulls or are you willing to give a pass for the early season injuries?” Personally, with Todd BS, I’m out, guys. I’m out. Because because they they I mean, in a game, let’s let’s just let’s just here’s here’s why. 476 yards of opposing offense, 19 penalties for 125 yards. You put up 28 points at home, and you lose for a defensive-minded coach. It’s inexcusable. Um, now, let’s keep it going here. Uh, if you fire Todd BS, who are you bringing in as a replacement? I feel like because Todd BS is a defensive-minded coach, typically teams fl like they they they flip, you know, Bruce Arens to to Todd BS. I I feel like I I would bring in an offensive-minded coach. As to who that is right this second, there’s a current coach in Seattle, by the way. That’s that’s that I would think would find Baker Mayfield pretty attractive considering that had that offensive coordinator is uh tied to a lot of other jobs. Clint Kubak would probably find this job very enticing. And I’ll just kind of leave it at that. Uh let’s see here. If you uh my computer predicted the Falcons to win. It was it was 14 to13 at half but there was a point in the first half where it was 14 to10 where I tweeted that this game feels a lot more lopsided than what it is. So, like I said, the Falcons win tonight 29-28, but guys, the Bucks are not going to face a team that has 19 penalties every every game here the rest of the way. And this was in a game that they had every opportunity to win and they lost. Um, this is just where do you go from here from Tampa? I feel like I mean I I don’t know how you could bring this coaching staff back next year and say like, “Hey, we’re going to run this back and and you know, we’re going to maybe finish nine and eight. Who knows?” Uh Baker is part of the problem. He definitely was tonight. Baker was not great tonight. Uh Baker, I thought there was a lot of I I don’t know how to describe this. People will probably get a kick out of this. Um but I I thought with Baker tonight, and again, people are going to like this one. I I thought that Baker had a lot of uh ants in his pants in the pocket. I thought it was just a lot of happy feet, a lot of let me leave the pocket early. I this this was uh just not a good game for the Bucks all around. Uh was Pennix limiting pits? Yeah. Yes. Michael Penn, guys, was not great when he played this year. He really was not great this year. Um now there’s there that’s that’s a 10-minute conversation, but he was he was not great when he played this year. Uh Kyle Pittz beating the bust allegations. If I’m going to be honest here I I Kyle Pitts is not a bust to me. He had thousand yards as a rookie. Now, Brock Bowers had a thousand yards last year, but he was one of two tight ends in NFL history to have a thousand yards as a rookie tight end. To me, you cannot be a bust and have that type of rookie season. Now, um we have 700 concurrent right now. That’s what’s up. Appreciate everybody being in here. We’re at 95 likes. So, the whole thing with whenever I think of a draft bust, guys, I’m thinking like Jammarcus Russell, Johnny Manzel, Ryan Leaf, Kyle Pittz was he was miles miles better than those guys at his position. So, Kyle Pittz, if if there was one thing that I would say, I mean, trigger trigger is like the the the the uh the buzzword, but one thing that I would say actually does frustrate me is when people would say Kyle Pittz was a bust, and it’s like, no, like he’s still a top even prior to tonight, he was still a top 10 to 12 tight end in the NFL. So, I I never I never I got to be honest, I never liked the I never liked the Kyle Pittz bust talk. Olivia Soprano, I don’t like that kind of talk. Never like that personally. Uh Kyle Pittz is the Jedi Jadevian Clowny of tight ends. I think that’s fair. Clowney was a multipletime pro bowler in his prime and Kyle Pittz is 25 years old. You saw what he did tonight. There’s no reason to think that Kyle Pittz from a talent standpoint cannot be a Pro Bowler. Maybe that’s a hot take. Maybe you think you’re watching this after the game think that’s an overreaction. I don’t. Uh James Pierce is a monster. Uh James Pierce, there were a couple of snaps tonight where James Pierce was going against Tristan Worse and uh James Pierce definitely realized, you know, what big boy grown man strength is. Um but James Pierce definitely also got his fair share of his fair share of pressures as well. He led led the game in pressures. Um let’s see. I still believe the Falcons have one of the most talented rosters. Appreciate the super chat, Drew Bob. They need a new coach. May need to move forward with Kirk next year. The Falcons will be in an interesting situation this off seasonason because you have to ask the question, all right, do we roll it back or do we run him back with Penn who by the way was again not great when he was playing this year or can we take Kirk two years post Achilles, go with the pocket passer archetype and kind of roll with that? It’s a conversation to be had. Um, now for clarity if you’re watching this after the fact, agree 100% with the new coach, not having the conversation about Kirk Wright. That that kind of gets swept under the rug that uh because of Josh Allen and Lamar and the MVP debate that those fan bases had and then Burrow last year with 43 touchdowns and 4,700 yards that Baker still threw for 4,000 or 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns last year and now we are where we were where we are. Bejian Robinson, eight receptions, 82 yards. I had Bejon in a PPR playoff. I know everybody cares about everybody’s fantasy league. So, thank you, Bejon, for helping me in my in my fantasy league. Uh, Bejian has he had, like I said, eight receptions for 8 or eight receptions for 82 yards, 175 total yards, and a touchdown tonight for uh Bejian Robinson. And by the way, shout out to David Sills for the fourth down play to be able to give the Falcons a chance to even, you know, to extend the drive to be able to go down and win 29-28. Um, and we do get to a point in the year where we do get to a point where in the year where, you know, you want your team to do not shout out David Sils. I know David Sills had a I know he had I look I know I know he had the big drop down the left sideline but he redeemed himself. Now if he didn’t make that play there’d be uh there’d be you know but look David Sils had the big play. He had the big play. So we’ll just leave it at that. Um, but there’s times you get, you know, this late in the year where, and I’m kind of at that point where like, look, draft pick-wise, you know, you want to have the, especially, I mean, guys, there’s there’s eight teams this year right now or eight teams right now that have three wins or less. So, if you’re a three and 10 team right now, you want to lose to be able to have a better draft pick. I mean, the difference between having the fourth pick and the 11th pick is a lot. So, but but this doesn’t really apply for the Falcons because they traded their first round pick. So for Kirk to come out 370 yards, three touchdowns. Bjon a buck 75 in a score. Kyle Pittz a buck 60, excuse me, sorry, a buck 66 and three scores. This is awesome, man, for the Falcons. Happy for him. Uh, did you see Mike Evans freaking out on the sideline at the end of the game? Mike Evans is I mean that that’s that’s that’s on brand. He’s kind of always done that. That’s I mean him and a lot more used to get into it and and uh Mike wouldn’t exactly sit there and and you know go Marshon, go buddy. Mike Evans is uh always been a very passionate player. I’ll just say that. He’s always been a very very very passionate player. Um but Mike Evans, if we are being honest, you know, you come back from the injury, you have a couple of big plays within this game, you have every right to be as pissed off as he was. Um, and within this game specifically, Evans had 132 yards and you come back and you lose 29-28 to a team that had 19 penalties against you and to a head coach in Raheem Morris that he’s probably getting fired at seasons end if if we’re being honest. Uh, because Raheem Morris lifetime is not exactly a winning head coach. And um, the Falcons as we know, this also applies to Todd BS by the way, but they don’t exactly play in a great division. So yeah, there’s there’s a lot to be said. I mean, what was that soft coverage from Bulls in the final drive? It’s a very good question, Logan. It’s a fair question, too. Um, but let’s go to a couple super chats here. Uh, as a Ravens fan, don’t understand the appeal of make it making it to the playoffs. Limping. Todd needs to go. Wait, wait. Um right now I think the Jags team ceiling would be around an AFC championship game loss. Um and then for Travis Hunter specifically I would very much like him to be like a 9010 receiver corner because I think he can be a Pro Bowl receiver. So, I want to sit here. A couple weeks ago, I I had to sit here and I had to watch Max Bromer throw four interceptions in Seattle. I had to watch him do the playaction pass down on the six-yd line. Then he’s going down and he throws the ugliest pick six you will see all season. And in the middle of that game, as I’m sulking, as I’m as I’m just I can’t take it anymore. Just just watching this unfold, I had the idea that, hey, Joe Burrow is not as unattainable as people think. He’s not as unattainable. You know, people are I know I knew initially I knew initially that people were going to say, oh man, there’s no chance there is no chance that Joe Burrow is going to be on the market. But guys, I’m going to hammer this point home over the next two months. Not because I’m a Vikings fan, because if I’m being honest, what really really scares me is the Rams. The Rams can very much outbid my team. They have a lot of first round picks. They could also say, “Hey, like here’s Jared Verse, here’s Braden Fisk, here’s uh Byron Young, here’s whoever Kobe Turner. They could out bid my team.” But within this, all I’m going to say is this. The Bengals at some point are going to have a conversation about, “Hey, Joe Burrow, we love him. We love everything he has done for the organization, but at what point do we say, you know what, it’s easier for us to turn the page, wish Joe well, and the fact that we can get probably three, four first round picks and a player, if not two good players on top of it, that if we’re being honest, I I mean, from a sheer asset allocation standpoint, plays all 17 games rather than pay Joe 57 or 55 $5 million per year. That conversation is going to be had. That conversation will be had. Uh now, how do you expect Burrow to move after trying to get T and Jamar back? Well, look at the team, guys. We are going on a presidential election length in terms of the Bengals not making the playoffs with a Hall of Fame caliber quarterback in his prime and with a Hall of Fame number one receiver in his prime. At what point, if you were the Bengals, do you say, “Hey, he’s 29. He’s in his prime. He’s been injured three of six seasons. And and also within this, I I just want to ask this as as nice as I possibly can, right? I if for the people that say, “Oh, he’s not going anywhere. He’s not going anywhere guys, the luck conversations are already happening. What if he has one more injury? What if, god forbid, right? Obviously, let’s just for 100% transparency. Obviously, I hope you hope everybody hopes this doesn’t happen. But what if he goes out next year, week one, week two, early in the year, done for the year? What conversation do you have then? I’m saying from a sheer asset allocation standpoint, the Bengals can trade a player. They can get three or four first round picks. They have not made the playoffs in three seasons. It makes a lot of sense is all I’m saying. Uh, did you see his press conference? This is exactly what I’m referring to with with Joe Barrow. Uh, by the way, Monster Jam Fever, incredible username. Appreciate you being a member of the channel. Um, but if he gets hurt, if he gets hurt again, they’re going to move on. I I mean, it would be four injuries in seven years. And even if he gets hurt in 27, it would be four injuries in eight years. I’m just saying the conversations are going to be had. Do you think it’s more about the injuries or the fact the defense gives up 40 a game? This is a good question, Eli. I think it’s a combination of both. Um, and you could sit here and say, hey, you know, okay, Joe Burrow is getting paid 50 million a year. Yes, it’s I mean obviously I mean all of us would love to get paid 50 million a year obviously but there’s also you know something to it where Joe is I mean turf toe is not whenever I was young and I heard the term turf toe I very much thought it was just like jamming your toe like really bad and that you’d be out a couple weeks that like when I was young when I was like a kid and then you actually like you know become an adult and you research things yourself and you realize that it’s it’s like there’s ligaments torn within a turf toe. And the fact that he had it was like a grade I might be wrong on this by the way, so might be wrong, but it was like I think it was like one of the highest grade turf toe injuries you can have. And the fact that he comes back a couple like you know a couple of months later to try to save the season and you go out and yes, Christian Benford that had the defensive touchdown, but they put up 34 points on the road and you lose. I think it’s a combination of all of it right now. I think there’s there’s understandably a lot of frustration um just because of that. Burrow and the Vikings just looks right. I don’t know why they called me a mad man. I will say this, if if it happens, I will take the biggest victory lap imaginable because I I just I I mentioned it. Everybody was, “Oh, no, no, no, no chance. No chance.” And I’ve said some things about Quasi Adalfamsa, but if he pulls it off, we’re good. We’re good. I’ll just leave it at that. We’re good. What I’m saying here, please focus on this part. forget the fact that I’m a Vikings fan because I I will openly say again the Rams and even the Jet well the Jets differ a little bit but I think I would think that the Rams or the Bengals would want to trade him out of conference for obvious reasons. So, the Rams, I do think make more sense. There’s a point where the Bengals will say, is it really worth him potentially getting hurt again and not having anywhere close to as much trade value or while we can get probably Jared Verse and three first round picks or whatever, whatever they want, it’s a conversation worth having. Uh, if I were the GM, what would you give up for him? I’m going to do this from the Vikings perspective. Um, just real quick, what I would say is I would I would just start uh I would just start and be like, “Hey, how do you feel about Jonathan Gernard?” I would say I would probably say Jonathan Gernard and three ones at the start. Probably going to decline. Um, I’d probably have to get another first round pick, if not another second round pick. Let me trade Jordan Addison. that probably there’s a lot that goes into it. Um, but it would be how do you feel about Jonathan Gernard? Okay. How do you feel about Dallas Turner? How do you feel about JJ McCarthy? By the way, JJ just threw three touchdowns u in a game. No, no interceptions, by the way. I don’t care. Well, I do care. I’m not going to mention who it was against, but he threw three touchdowns. No, no interceptions, so no big deal. And the team put up 31 points. But I would say, how do you feel about JJ? How do you feel about Dallas? you know, a one, a two ones, a two, and a three, I think, would be fair for all of that. This is this is similar to what it would be. I would try to get out of the second second and and have a one, two ones, a two, and a three is what I would try to So, 261, 262, 271, 273 is what I would try to do. That would be that would be the hopeful offer there. there would be pretty much be this. So if you seriously offered McCarthy the Bengals would laugh and hang up. He would be involved. I mean not if you’re off al also offering Dallas Turner who by the way has had a bit of a breakout past month. Two ones and two twos. You know what else we’re going to do? We’re going to draft Jamar Stewart over Donovan Ezaraku. That’s a good decision. They’re they’re the Bengals just they they just the decisions they make frustrate me and in turn I feel frustrated for the fans because there’s decisions that are not hard decisions to make that they regularly like just make them harder than they need to be.
