GET UP | Cowboys poise to dethrone Eagles’ NFC East & it’s start by beating Vikings – Harry Douglas

Dallas Cowboys hosting the Vikings on Sunday, coming off a 14-point loss in Detroit last time we saw them. CD Lamb was listed as a full participant in practice yesterday, which would suggest he’s on track to play after suffering a concussion in that game a week ago. And all the Cowboy Cowboy conversation really now comes down to this. A wild card spot is going to be very difficult to procure in the NFC. There were just too many teams with such good records. So, the division, the path for the Cowboys to get into the playoffs is to try and catch this Eagles who are sliding. The first piece of this is the Cowboys have to win out. Are we confident, J-Mack, and the Cowboys looking at that schedule that they hold up their end of the bargain and win these games? I am confident. The the main factor I see on that, the two the two challenging teams, Minnesota and then the Chargers, they play both of those games at home. And Dallas has been really good at home with Dak Prescott hitting both of his guys on the outside. they go on the road and those are the lesser teams that they have to play against. I have a ton of confidence that this team is going to be able to do that. It’s zero sum because you obviously need to win out which I believe they can and then you need the Eagles to have one of the all-time collapses in NFL history. Look at those schedules again. This is not the Eagles playing Baltimore and playing Cincinnati. This is the Eagles playing the bottom of the league. You’re talking about the Raiders who have not looked like a functioning team in two months. Covered the spread last week at Commander. Okay, spread talk is great. Kenny Dillingham in the spread. We’re all in on both of them. Uh at Commanders, all right, at Bills. Okay, that’s fine if you lose that game. Then Commanders, if you lose three of those four and you lo like, you don’t deserve to be in the playoffs, but yet it’s quite possible the way they’re playing that they could just have an utter collapse. There’s been a lot of conversation about George Pickkins and it’s come up a little bit here now that the conversation just because they haven’t played in so long and so much has happened, it’s quieted a little bit. But what do you want to see? What will you be watching for from him the minute they step foot on the field on Sunday against Minnesota? Okay, you be dominant, right? And it’s all about executing and being dominant every single time that you take a snap. Not for three4s of the game or half of the game, but every single play that you step out there on that football field, you be dominant. You impose your will. And this a perfect game for you to be able to bounce back. George Pickings, you didn’t have a great one. We had a showing of you not running routes full speed, but you can bounce back with this game versus the Minnesota Vikings. But we know Brian Flores, he’s going to bring the pressure. You got to try to slow down this offense of the Dallas Cowboys. There’s a reason why they’re averaging 29 points per game right now. It’s because of two those two guys on the outside. But George Pickkins, I do believe he’s going to have a bounceback game because the last thing that we have in our mind is that game versus the Detroit Lions where he didn’t look good. And Cindy, we could put the picks up on the screen. I mean, the the the Vikings had a little bit of a bounce back last week, right? JJ McCarthy looked a little bit better, but I see nothing but stars on the screen. Bart, you like the Cowboys? I do. And I think um you know it’s it’s mere elementary right when you look at the fact that see that that Pickin’s football character has been challenged right so all week he’s been hearing from from people criticizing him he’s heard from his teammates I expect Shotty to get him involved early right to build up his confidence and really when it comes down to it comes down to the numbers he’s got to realize that he cost himself some money he got to go get that money back even when you look at the contracts of Garrett Wilson you look at CD Lamb his his his contract should be somewhere in between that so you ask him do you want to hunt want four years, $130 million, and then with the opportunity to go back and get another bite at the apple so that you can walk away from this game with $200 million. Well, that’s what’s at stake. So, I think you want to go down and you want to give 110%. Because at the end of the day, your pockets needed. Greeny, let me add this really quick. I I think for George Pickings, when you have a guy like Randy Moss who’s basically telling you he loves George Pickkins, it’s one of his favorite receivers to watch. And on Sunday Countdown, he basically looks in that camera and he tell George Pickkins, “That’s not you.” Yeah. That’s when it really hits you as a former player, especially the caliber that George Pickins has. When you have a all-time great, a Hall of Famer, a guy like Randy Moss says that I know that’s not you. You got to show up. You got to redeem yourself. That’s what he said. Yeah. He wasn’t mad. He was more disappointed. But faced some of that same criticism, right? You know, when he was in Oakland and you know, of course, that’s where careers used to go to die, but All right. So, the number on this game, wasn’t it seven and a half? Seven and a half before they lost on Thursday night to Detroit. Then you saw it move. Then you saw JJ McCarthy play well. It moved again. It’s down to five and a half. This is where you play the Cowboys. The quarterback discrepancy is huge. I’m not banking on McCarthy having two good games in a row, but more importantly, Prescott with extra rest is where you want to live in his career. 19-9 against the spread with extra rest. Since 2003, the only quarterbacks better than Prescott with extra rest, Tom Brady, Pton Manning, Eli Manning, and Donovan McNab, who with Andy Reid was the king of extra rest. Yeah. And look, they are playing at home. The Cowboys have been ridiculously good at home. coming. Here we go. It’s a football Friday, so let’s do who you got. Looking at some of the big games this weekend, J-Max, some people saying Packers Broncos could be a Super Bowl preview. Who you like in this game? I like Green Bay in this one, and a lot of it has to do with the guy throwing the football right there. Jordan Love has been incredible over the last few weeks. That’s not only ball placement, but the most important thing has been his decisionmaking. I expect the Broncos to bring pressure, and he has been awesome with dealing with it. Look for Christian Watson to be the guy on the other end of some big plays. Broncos an underdog in this game despite their guarding record. Lions Rams, Peter is a critical NFC game. Who you got? I’ve got the Rams. I know Jared Goff has beaten Shawn McVey and Matthew Stafford the last two times they played, including a playoff game. Those games were in Detroit. This one’s in LA. The Rams have those two running backs that can put up big numbers and say, “Hey, Montgomery and Gibbs, we got our guys, too. Cororm and Williams.” O’Brien Bryant. Oh, you were just I thought you were shaking your head cuz you’re down about your Lions. I thought you dogs against Green Bay. They’re 11 and two. They’re on this big winning streak and they’re going to have a chance over these last three. Those are all good football teams. I know what the Chief’s record is, but you’re going to be kind of in your weight class here. But how significant, Damen, would a victory over a Green Bay team that perhaps could prove to be the best in the NFC be ultimately as they try to get towards the tournament with some momentum? Well, I think it’ll be another big notch in their belt. I mean, you’re talking about the Green Bay Packers who are in first place in the NFC North and you could make the case that Green Bay Packers might be the best team in the NFC. And so, when we talk about the Denver Broncos, they what won like 10 straight games. Um, you know, obviously people have questions about Bo Knicks and his, you know, his inconsistency. Sometimes you say people, are you part one of those people? I am. I’m I’m one of I’m one of those dudes. It’s sometimes when when you’re watching Bo Knicks, it’s like you’ve been on a roller coaster. There’s great moments and then there’s moments that Bo Knicks leaves you scratching your head about, you know, exactly what you’re doing. But the one thing we do know, the Denver Broncos have a very good defense. And we’re going to see that defense going up against Jordan Love who’s been playing fantastic football. I mean, it’s a step up in weight class. I mean, the video we see here is Washington and then after that, the video we see here is um the Raiders. Yeah. I was just going to hit the board to hear Boomer say the Raiders because it makes it fun. So, you’re stepping up in class and I mean, do you need to beat a great team? You keep winning. You’re 11 and two. You’re going to be in the playoffs almost certainly regardless. So, I just think it’s a it’s just a fun one to see good on good. I think that’s the same situation with Los Angeles and Detroit. But Damen, this Lions team’s on the wrong side of the line for the moment. What do they have to do against a red-hot Rams team to try to go out and get a victory? They’re going to have to score. They’re going to have to score because I don’t think they’re going to be able to stop Matthew Stafford and company. You’re talking about a guy who’s, you know, probably the leader in the MVP category right now, Matthew Stafford. He got a bunch of weapons on on offense. Obviously, Puka and Devonte got two really good backs in the back field. I just don’t think that Detroit Lions defense going to be able to stop those guys. So Jerry Golf and company, they’re going to have to go blow forblow, score to score to have a chance to win that game in in Los Angeles. You think they can? I think they can. That Listen, the way that Dan Campbell calls game and the weapons that they have, they’ll have an opportunity. But but this Rams defense is very, very good. So it’s going to be an uphill battle for Detroit. As aggressive as Campbell’s been all year, I I think you’re at a place now where you just got to push your chips all the way in. I’m with you. Should be a fantastic week. 15. Damn Woody, as always, appreciate your time. Appreciate you. Thank you. Thank you so much.

  1. My Dallas Cowboys are going to have to win out when it comes to the Eagles, I see them losing to the bills they will beat the Raiders easily but it is up to the Redskins or commanders to at least have the Eagles lose one of those games if my Cowboys want a chance to hit the playoffs 👍🏿
