#DallasCowboys Fish at 6 Live! Diggs Speaks Out; #Cowboys Final Injury Update

Your Dallas Cowboys gearing up for a pretty pretty big NFC clash on Sunday night here at AT&T Stadium. Here come the Vikings. Seven-point underdogs to the Cowboys. Dallas 66 and one trying to bounce back from what happened in Detroit and trying to stay alive in the NFC playoff race. I’m Mike Fischer. This is the fishbowl that the star Cowboys made some decisions today in terms of their final game and injury report for Sunday night and Trayvon Diggs is featured there. There’s the six bongs on the wall on a TGIF Friday. Uh a lot of eyes on Trayvon Diggs of course he continues his ramp up. Uh the coach says we need consistency from him. Brian Shottnimer over the course of the week has not exactly said yes absolutely uh to Diggs but Diggs today is saying about himself yes absolutely get in get on be good bring something of intellect to the table I’m struggling health-wise so Dr. Marsha has allowed me to spend just a little time with you here. Jake Ferguson calf issue, questionable, clowny, um, working through his injury thing, questionable. Looks like that’s a game time decision. And then Diggs, those are the three names on the injury report that jump out at you. Uh, everything a go for CD Lamb and the concussion. He said, by the way, that this experience was surreal for him. kind of reminded him about how how quickly a good thing can go away. Trayvon Diggs, is he going to be a good thing that goes away? He says no. Uh, one more thing on Ferguson. Uh, Shottimer says he’ll he’ll basically he’ll find a way to play. So, Ferguson should be fine. We’ll keep you posted on Clowny. And then in the case of Diggs, remember this requires a roster move. So, the Cowboys, and this will probably happen at 100 pm or something tomorrow. If indeed it happens, Cowboys will make their final shuffles. And of course, we’ll let you know here. Gayton, by the way, but we already knew this. Gayton with the ankle sprain. He’s been ruled out. That’s not going to happen. Uh, an interesting point by Shottenheimimer. He said, “It’s tricky to deal with a 320 lb man and his ankle injury.” And, uh, I get it. I don’t get, not that I’ve ever weighed 320 pounds, but I I do understand it. So, Ferguson may be game time decision, but a lot of confidence there. And then Shanheimer mentioned the other tight ends, including Revena and Luke Skooner and Princeton Fant uh could be in that mix as well. Now to Diggs. Um he basically announced today, Jeremiah, are you a game time decision? Yes, I am indeed. Uh, I I have been advised that maybe I don’t need to go uh be in public on Sunday at a stadium. I’ve been advised by Dr. Sugar. So, we’ll see about that. We already had to cancel a big Saturday night neighborhood Christmas party at this very establishment, which makes me uh double double over in pain, which is actually quadruple over in pain because I’m already doubling over in pain. So, two-month absence for Diggs, concussion, knee, knee, what have you. He says, “I’m ready.” Problem is, again, the Cowboys aren’t exactly saying the same thing. Two-time Pro Bowler, of course, now speaking out about his immediate availability and his long-term future here. Here’s the quote on the now. I’m ready. He says, “Maybe last week they didn’t decide I was ready because I didn’t get enough reps, but this week I’ve got reps. A lot of good practice.” So, yeah, good week. So, he’s broadcasting his desire to go Sunday night against the Vikings. Cowboys have basically announced that they’ll make their decision on Friday. So, have they haven’t said yes, I’m sorry, on Saturday. And again, a reminder, they’d have to make a roster move to make that happen. Now, what about a future for Diggs in Dallas? He’s been embroiled in controversy going on, we’re going on two years now. Um, and conflict with the organization and it’s it’s turned sour. Um, by the way, many of you have turned on him and I get it. You haven’t seen him. I mean, you haven’t seen him play in two years and the the the the workout um docking of pay and the questioning of his rehab and then the mystery at home. A lot of junk. A lot of junk that has turned you off. What about your future with the organization, Trey? Keith Simmons says Diggs needs to show out because he’s playing for a contract in another city. That’s a good reason for he’s getting paid. The reason for him to show up and show out is so he might be able to get paid by somebody else in the future. Quote from Diggs. And I I I can’t say that I loved the kind of the lass fair, but you know, everybody’s too cool for school nowadays. Whatever happens happens is what Dig said. I’m prepared for it, but I’d love to be here. I love everything in coming to Dallas, love the fans, love the relationships I build here, but you know, if that’s not what it is, then that’s not what it is. So he’s kind of saying he he kind of claimed I’m not thinking about the future. But obviously that’s impossible. He’s human. And in that quote he is saying whatever happens happens. I’m prepared to not be here. That is what he’s saying. age 27, Pro Bowl in 21 and 22 after getting 14 interceptions there, including a spectacular total of 11 in 2021. One of the greatest playmaking seasons of any defensive player ever. And along the way, he earned uh a five-year extension worth almost $und00 million, $97 million, I guess, what it was. We call him a $20 million a year player, rounding it up. But since then, he’s played in just 19 games. Jeremiah reminds us that Diggs loves being in Dallas so much that as we talked about months ago, he’s got his house up for sale. That doesn’t mean he might not be moving to a bigger or smaller, but it’s true. Uh he did put his house up for sale in over the summer. He does say he remains confident and again claims to be unworked about his future. quote from Diggs. Why am I not worried? Because I know who I am. We’ve long speculated. Thank you, young Keto Fish. There’s no better journalist in Dallas. You’re the most trustworthy person for information like this. We We pride ourselves on trying to do it right. And I appreciate you saying that. I know who I am. Now, factor in here something that we’ve discussed and it was put in the contract way before the controversy, the escapability in the spring of 2026, saved $12 million by saying goodbye to him. So, that was always in play. And now it’s especially so, and he knows it. Sandra, if he does come back, I hope he plays better than he did. That’s something we can all agree on. If they activate him, and we did our our Optimus club earlier, activate Diggs and he plays and he helps you win. Yay. If they activate him, he’d better play. And if he’s going to play, you’d sure like him to help you win. That’d be a that’d be a happy 2025 for everybody. And then as he kind of says, then we’ll worry about March 2026 when we get there. But I don’t think anybody here is rooting against Diggs playing well. You just wonder if he can. $12 million of c $12 million of cap room awaits the Cowboys if they say goodbye here before March 8th of next spring. I know what I’m capable of. I know what I can do. I’m not having a crisis of whether or not I know how to play football. He says, I know how to play football. I know what I’m capable of. I know what skill set I have. He does have a particular set of skills. kind of like uh Liam Niss. Final quote from Diggs as he says, “I’m ready this weekend and I’d be happy to stay here next year. It’s just about showing it, putting it out there like on film and making plays that I’ve always made.” Billy Johnson Fish, you’re rooting against Diggs. Yeah, Billy. I don’t know if you’re new here or not. I make mistakes here. It happens. In fact, I’ve made three mistakes in my entirety. All right. All right. But I don’t tell lies. Nobody in Cowboy Nation is hoping that Diggs gets on the field Sunday night and fails. No fan obviously, nobody employed by the Cowboys, obviously, and no media person either. So, you’re wrong. But I appreciate your Christmas spirit. Fish out.
