4. An excellent way to win a bar bet: “You think your Packers are so macho and tough! They lost to a team of Fairies! That’s right, every member of that team was a Fairy!” Just when you start getting accused of being a raging homophobe, you pull up the story of this game and collect on anyone foolish enough to call you out on it and back it up with money.

   BTW, the Fairies were a company team, like the Acme Packers. They were sponsored by diesel engine manufacturer Fairbanks Morse, located in Beloit. They also beat the Packers in 1920, the year before the Packers joined what would soon be called the NFL. If memory serves, they also fielded a baseball team that beat the Boston Red Sox in an exhibition game.

5. All I can picture now is Dean Winchester in a Packers uniform screaming “Fight the Fairies!”
