Quinn Hughes Trade Reaction π The Wild have put the league ON NOTICE β Wyshynski | ESPN NHL
The Minnesota Wild have put the rest of the NHL on notice with their trade for Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Conucks. My goodness, I love this trade for Billy Garren in the Wild. The former Norris Trophy winner fits perfectly on the left side of their defense next to either Brock Faber or Jared Spurgeon. He makes their already dangerous power play even more dangerous. But most of all, he gives the Wild a franchise level elite defenseman, which their central division rivals, the Colorado Avalanche with Kale Mar and the Dallas Stars with Miro Heiskinan, already have. Minnesota has never even played for the Stanley Cup, let alone won one in 25 years in the NHL, which is why they offered up quite a bounty to go for it with Quinn Hughes, a player who could potentially leave as a free agent in 2027. Simply put put few teams in the NHL could even hope to match this kind of offer for Hughes. The Conucks wanted a solid young center with NHL experience. They get Marco Rossi. They wanted a left shot defenseman to help fill the void left by Quinn Hughes. They get Zoo, one of the best young defenseman in the league. Winger Liam Ogrren was a former first round pick. They get another first round pick out of this. I think Vancouver did a very good job setting the foundation for what they need to build in the post Quinn Hughes era. Now, where does this leave the New Jersey Devils, who obviously were hoping to unite the Hughes Triforce and get Quinn along with Jack and Luke on their roster. Well, they made an offer to the Vancouver Conucks. It wasn’t anything close to what the Wild were offering. So, if the Devils are going to get Quinn, Jack, and Luke all in the same team, they might have to wait until 2027 when Quinn can become an unrestricted free agent. That is of course unless Minnesota wild GM and team USA Olympic GM where Quinn’s going to play. Bill Garin convinces Quinn Hughes to choose the Twin Cities over his two brothers. [Music] [Music]

I'm impressed with your fair assessment Wysh. Go Canucks!
Yeah but it sucks for us Canucks fans who love him
Ouch! If Quinn isn't awesome I think Minny might regret this trade… As painful as it is welcome to Minny Quinn. Thank you and best of luck in Vancouver Marco, Liam, and Zeev. Ps just don't make the Wild regret this trade for ten years when you play us
Thatβs a Wild trade!
I'm done with them after 50 year fan
Can wild trade Rossi to Dallas? He would be sweet
It shows me the Wild want to stop losing in the 1st round!! Want more scoring!!! Get one more player known for their great defense, and the Wild might have something special. But until they improve their defense, their offense will get shut down by the big teams!!
So if they are serious about rebuilding , the question is who should go next? I can answer that. Francesco Aquilini. And if he had any respect for the fans or the city he would have left decades ago!!!!!ππ
I really wanted a Hughes brothers reunion in NJπ
