Minnesota ranks…

Zone Exit Success Rate – 11th

Zone Entry Success Rate – 27th

Rush Chances – 32nd

Turnover Rate – 18th

Hughes is a one-man breakout. He cuts through the neutral zone as well as any defenseman in the NHL.

Hughes also leads the league in stretch pass completions. The Wild attempt more stretch passes than any team but connect at a below average rate – one of the reasons they lead the league in icings.

For as much as Hughes had the puck on his stick in Vancouver, maybe too much at times, he also rarely turned it over. Quantity at an extreme level with a high degree of quality.

Watching Hughes and Kaprizov play keep away is going to be entertaining. Monster add by the Wild.

  1. And another stat he posted:

Quinn Hughes: League of his own when it comes to puck possession. He’s led the league each of the last 5 years and is on another level this season. Nobody has averaged 4 minutes per game since he entered the league.

  2. Imagine fending off Kirill Kaprizov for a whole minute, then Quinn Hughes dances around you with the puck as Matt Boldy cycles in

  3. A lot of people are sad at what we traded away but they don’t realize just how good Quinn is nor the fact that he now plays for our team

  4. Dom Luszczyszyn had an article recently that listed every teams Christmas wish list. He had offense from the blue line listed for the Wild. As of the time of the article, only 3 teams had fewer points from their blue line.

I guess the Wild got their wish fulfilled early because Hughes flips the script on blue line production in a hurry. I’m so pumped to watch him play.

  5. I’ve been watching highlights and he can start from his own end and walk through an entire team and snipe it lol. And he’s done that a bunch, not just like a fluke.

    We added a SUPERstar boys.

  6. He’s already arguably the greatest wild player of all time and hasn’t played a single game

  7. I’m just glad I don’t have to watch Canucks games anymore… one of those guys you suffer watching the team they play on just to catch his shifts

  8. He’s absolute stud D

Wild fans should be happy they got him. Gave up some good players, but no one that’s going to be on Hughes level

And now Wild have about 2 years to convince/show Hughes he can win big in Minnesota
