[The Athletic] What we’re hearing about Kevyn Adams’ future as Buffalo Sabres GM

>The Buffalo Sabres have been holding internal discussions about replacing general manager Kevyn Adams, three NHL sources have told The Athletic.
>Adams has been Buffalo’s general manager for the last five and a half years. He’s currently with the team in Seattle, where the Sabres will finish a six-game road trip with a game against the Kraken on Sunday night. The team is due to arrive back in Buffalo on Monday morning. No final decision is expected until the Sabres return home, two of the sources said.
>The Sabres have a logical replacement candidate on an interim or permanent basis on their staff in Jarmo Kekäläinen, who joined the team in May as a senior adviser. Kekäläinen previously spent 11 years as Columbus Blue Jackets GM and before that held several high-ranking positions in front offices in the NHL and Europe. Kekäläinen is currently back home in Finland dealing with a personal matter, but he has been around the team regularly throughout the season and has made a strong impression within the organization, two of the sources said.
Guessing the players have plenty of time to soak up this info in Seattle. We’ll find out if they influence any decision by winning or losing 8-0….
As an obsequious yes man with no experience in a hockey front office I regret to inform you that I will be the next GM for the Buffalo Sabres
My first act as GM will be to acquire an additional goalie for the four man rotation
Buried in the article is that Adams was given an extension after a 76 point season (LOL) and that his current contract runs through the 26-27 season…
Let this be the end of Sheikh Kevyn al Adamsi, and his lieutenant Eric al Staali, inshallah.
Pegula will fire Ruff and make Adams head coach, hire his yacht captain to become president of hockey operations and make Apprt the new permanently interim GM
Why if you potentially have the next GM already hired as a senior advisor in house would you be in a hurry to fire the current GM.
Kekalainen can voice his opinions and Pegula can take it if leave it at any time. Adams is under contract till the end of next season unless he doesn’t show up for work or quits.
You can make vowels the new GM but as long as we still have Pegulas yes men like Appert and Ellis the team won’t go anywhere
I think Adams’s tenure has run its course, but if they are indeed going to replace him, having this hang over his head like a guillotine waiting to drop come Monday is unprofessional. Literally nothing about Sunday’s game should influence their decision about whether to move on from Adams as GM or not, so there’s no reason to drag this out (on the road or not).
He’ll shave his head eventually… hopefully!
Doan needs to stop with those sweet game winning behind the net pssses…what’s he trying to do? Save people’s jobs? That’s like 3 of those passes in the last week… STOP IT ALREADY…what’s was the name of the goalie in the tank year that was winning too much and got waived? I don’t want that to happen to my favorite player
