3 hours of the MOST EPIC moments of the 2025 MLB season so far!

So, with one away, the batter is Mike Trout. Now, I want to preface this because if you look at Trout’s hard hit rate and some of the expected numbers is weighted on base average compared to what’s expected, there is an unlucky part of Trout’s game because he’s hit he’s had a lot of hard hit outs here early on, but he hits this one hard. He hits it a mile to left. Mike Trout has ripped a home run. He got that lower third. 115.4 off the bat. That’s what you want from Trout. You can see how good he feels about that swing. That was the lower third and he absolutely crushed it. Lower 35. I always believe you stay with your strength. He’s so good in that lower third. Crushed that lower third and he did. His seventh home run as he takes the team lead with him to career home run number 385 tying him with guy who probably should be in the Hall of Fame, Dwight Evans. That’s a curveball. He got that arc right there in the zone. throw enough of him to catch that lower part. Trout catches that out in front. That’s a perfect view where he caught that curveball at the arc before it got below the strike zone and crushed it out. A stark contrast to the great offense they’ve had here for many years. Nasty Nunes out of nowhere behind Jose Tenna. And we’re trading spectacular plays here. Aim Nunes coming out of nowhere. Look at this plane up the middle. Shaded over there. What a direct route. Get him away. Saw a little white there. He stuck the landing. And I’m really glad Jose Tennis stopped one more step and that could have been disastrous for two young infielders. What a play. up the middle. Take it away. Alli de la Cruz. I believe he can fly. Fly like an eagle. Oh my goodness. This Baltimore crowd is in stunned astonishment. And there’s a smattering of clapping from folks clad in orange at that wizardry. number 29. You know, I I hate to say this, John, but we have seen Ellie do so many spectacular things when the ball came off the bat. I thought he was going to catch it and then I didn’t. And then I did. That’s where he he does have some almost magicians flare, right? Oh, that was something else. Take a look right at the top of the zone. 02 hit in the air to left field. Pretty well hit. Sosa’s getting a chance over toward the corner toward the wall and he reaches up and he made the catch. Oh, like Spider-Man. And Mundo Sosa getting his feet wet here in the bottom of the first inning. He just robbed Marcel Ozuna of a home run. And look at the smile on his face. Oh my goodness. And Sosa, his first play in his first start ever in left field and he’s robbed Ozuna of a home run. He brought it back over the wall. This game’s easy, boys. Oh my goodness. Sosa inning is over. We’ll go to the second. It’s one to nothing Phillies. That’s driven out to left center field headed toward the gap. Diving is Taylor and he makes the catch. Oh wow. Tyrone Taylor coming out of nowhere to rob Loris Guriel. A thing of beauty. Boy, I did not think he was going to get there. G. Nor did I. I tracked him the whole way. his run. I was ready for him to pull up and play it off the wall. What a play. Back hand cap flying. He was all the way over in right center against Guriel. Wow. And he went many, many feet. Doesn’t get any better that doesn’t get any better than that. Unbelievable. That is one of the better catches you’re going to see all year long. I mean, this ball was stung to the gap. Taylor with a great jump, extended going backwards and hauled that ball in. That was a great play. I looked at the ball and Taylor looked at the ball again, then looked at Taylor one more time and thought, “No way is he going to reach it.” Full extension on the warning track. Sensational. And Brandon pulls one over the bag. That’s going to go down the line. It hits the Jing stands. Alonzo is in. Winker will score. Bentos will be held at third. Brandon NMA with a nine RBI day, tying a Mets club record. And he’s done it in the last three innings. Brandon NMO joins Carlos Delgado was the only Mets ever to drive in nine runs in a single game. What a day. That is huge. Huge day. Everything. He’s been on everything. Fast balls, breaking balls. That one he hooks in the corner for two RBI’s. It doesn’t hit the siding. They might have driven in three. as Ward sees a fast ball and Harrison Bader will run it down. Wow. Harrison Bader, one of the best outfielders in baseball this season. We’ve seen him in left, make play after play, and now in center. Full out diving catch, standing ovation all over the ballpark, including his own dugout. and from his pitcher on the mound. What a catch. This is an absolute rope to center field. Look where Harrison Bader started shading Ward toward the right center field gap. So, he had a long way to go. That is full extension. Look at Joe Ryan. That’s respect. Harrison Bader made a highlight real catch a moment ago. tracking, diving, and we’ve seen the reaction from his players. Look at Byron Buckton right side of the screen. He knows what’s up. Center field going back. Beds off the wall. Racing towards go. Here we go. And he’s Oh my. We got a sight goal. Take that board, Grace. You’re running like a Riverat and they want the ball. The dugout is going bonkers. Oh, brother. That was awesome. Somebody in the stands just yelled Mark Grace. I could hear I could pick it up in my headset. Well, there you go. First cycle since Mark Grace and it comes from the catcher Carson Kelly. Triple’s always the toughest one to get. Fly ball in the air center field and deep. Myers is going back. Still going back. He makes the catch. Oh my goodness. Dane Meyers. He may have just one up Derek Hill to end the ball game. And he face planted up against that wall. Oh wow. It’s nice to see him get up from that. Oh my god. I cannot believe the ball game just ended like that and the Marlins win this thing 5 nothing. I am shocked. I cannot believe he just made that catch and he comes away smiling after it all. Well, this thing was smoked off of the bat of Alonzo. Look, Meyers is playing shallow just like Hill goes back one step away from the ball, the wall and face plants. Wow. It’s really nice to see him get up from that. Oh my god. I cannot believe that’s how the ball game just ended. What a catch by Dane Meyers to end it. And the Marlins salvage a game in this series. And they down the Mets by a final score of five to nothing here today. Holy cow. All right, here’s Otani. 17. High fly ball to center field. Harris is back. Oh, Tonnie. Inevitable. So, hail Tonnie. A son. He’s headed home. And once again, the Dodgers walk-off winners on his bobblehead night. He gives the people what they came to see. Another show Otani moment. Dodger Stadium just became Hollywood. Can you believe this? Dodger Stadium delirious. It is stunned. But should it be time and again, Rick Monday, this man delivers? If he were writing his script that it was going to end on Show Otani’s bobblehead night in front of 50,000 plus that in the ninth inning he would win it with a home run. You say no rewrite. No one will believe it. Well, 50,000 believed it. They were here and they saw it. And I mentioned the other night that great teams don’t just win games. They make statements while they’re winning games. And the Dodgers move their season opening record now to eight wins and no losses. The sixth comeback win for the Dodgers this year. Eight wins undefeated. The first defending champion to start the next year 8-0. And they stay in first place. They stay in first place. But this place is still buzzing and for very good reason. Show Otani still drying off after the Gatorade bat he got following his walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Dodgers come back two in the eighth from Maxy. Shoi in the ninth once again. Durant to Benendi. The 2-2 in the air to right center field. Buckston on the move to his left. Buckton will dive and he caught the ball. Buckton caught the ball. Twins win. Twins win. And the Twins win it on a great defensive play by Buckton in right center. Speechless. Absolutely speechless. This ball is hammered by Ben attendy and Byron Buckton just didn’t stop. He is in a full out sprint. Lays out. It’s a play like that that brings me back to 2023 when all Byron did was DH. He’d have a night, he’d go 0 for four and he felt, you know what, I hate it because I can’t do anything else to help my team win. So tonight, Buckton 0 for four, saved the game right there. Can change the game with his defense. How many times have we said that? And he didn’t change the game, he saved the game. Certainly did. Two runs would have scored that attendee, who knows where he would have ended up. Outfield coach Tommy Watkins with a hug. Jack Sinsky leads off for the Pirates against the new pitcher. Fly ball in the air to left field. This is deep. This is back at the wall. Leaping. Did he pull it back? Yeah. Wow. Griffin Conine. No way. Yes, he did. Come on. Best catch of the year. It might be. Zinsky can’t believe it. He’s trying not to smile. Take a look at this ball. He flipped it the opposite way, but look at Griffith get back. He doesn’t get too close to the wall, which allows him to elevate and pull it back. You kidding me, Rod? Are you kidding me? No, I just saw. Look at it. Look at the concentration. Oh my goodness. Oh my good. Look at the elevation. Yeah, I got it. Look at them big old broad shoulders celebrating after making the catch. You’re not kidding. That may very well when it’s all said and done after 162 be the play of the year. We’re going to be seeing this play all year long. All year. And he played right field yesterday. This is the first action he’s had in left field. Didn’t start the game. Comes in and makes a play like that. And he is fired up, too. Boy, I wonder where Anthony Bender’s taking Griffin Conine out to dinner tonight. Yeah. Here is Tyrone Taylor, the ninth man to bat for New York here in the inning. Base is juiced with two outs. Taylor’s 0 for three today. One, two with the bases loaded to Taylor from Henriquez and he flies it in the air to left center field and deep. Really deep. Hill dives. Wa! That’s one of the best catches you’ll ever see. And he made a sensational one here last year. Holy cow, Derek Hill. As shallow as he plays, he had to go a long way. And to stretch out for that, Wow, what a catch. Derek Hill, a full extension dive on the warning track in left center field, lays out to make the grab and save three more runs. A phenomenal catch. Are you kidding me? Wow. Unreal grab from the Marlin center fielder. He caught it in the heel of his glove. Mets up 95. Would have been more, but for this all state good hands play by Derek Hill. Long way to run as well and just laid out for it. F. Oh yes, Gary, you called in the heel and that’s just strong hands. What a play. That’s the catch of the year thus far. I mean, he had to go so far and then flying through the air onto the warning track in these dreadful conditions and catching it right in the heel of the glove and hanging on. That was something. Six homers for Gino. He hits one high and deep to left field. Auia Suarez gets the Diamondbacks on the board. Gino’s now hit in four straight games. Five of six. Starting to get things turned around back in the right direction. Yeah, we talked about it earlier. Gino last night walked a couple times, got a base hit, but much better at bats and much better swings. None better than this, however. Goes down and gets a fast ball and drives it out of here to left field. Just the third home run given up this season by Grant Holmes. The seventh for Gino and it’s two to one. 30 pitches in this fourth inning so far for Grant Holmes. Suarez fly ball left field. It’s going. It’s going and it’s gone. Boy, what a difference a couple of days make. We talked about it before the game. He was our highlighted player for the Diamondbacks based on the two walks that he drew in the ball game last night. And usually hard hit balls follow walks. Gino narrowing that strike zone down and handling pitches he can handle. Gino comes in so far, two at bats, two home runs. The Statcast presented by Budweiser. Down and out over the plate. Sent it high in the air to left field. That one was a little bit more up in the zone. Suarez hits another fly ball. Gone. Oh my go three at bats and three home runs. The trifecta for Suarez. Wow. when he hits them, as we learned when the season started, they come in bunches. Oh, hanging breaking ball. 85 belt high inside part of the plate. Man, is he locked in right now. It didn’t take long. That’s going to be it for Holmes. Brian Sticker will take the baseball. And Suarez, the advance over the course of this week have been more patient, less chase, more play discipline, and it’s paying off. Three swings for Gino. Three homers. We flash back to September 4th of 2017. The last Diamondback with a four homer game. JD Martinez at Dodger Stadium. Suarez. High ball. There’s four. And we’re tied There have been 19 four homer games in Major League history. The last two by the Arizona Diamondbacks. JD Martinez in 2017 at Dodger Stadium. And today at Chase Field, AU Haley Suarez, four swings, four homers, and it’s seven to seven. What a night here at Chase. Oh my. Wow. We know. It’s Gino. The last time the Braves had a four homer game against them. They were in Milwaukee. Willie Mays in 1961. His 10th of the year to lead the major leagues. A four homer game for Au Henio Suarez. One guy’s 92 can seem like more than another guy’s 95. And as you say, maybe Bound just didn’t have that that carry, that backspin that he seems to normally have. Here’s a drive to deep center. Maro back. And did he catch that ball? He caught that ball. I mean, Dalton, we know you want a gold glove and we know you’re good, but quit showing off, would you? He fell and he caught that ball. I mean, we said he makes highlight reel catches, but this is crazy. Yeah, you could smile after that one. He is one of one out there, isn’t he? Unbelievable. You knew Duran hit it pretty good, but it looked like he was staying in the park. So D is going back right about here. You think, okay, settling under. Uhoh, he stays with it. Wasn’t he a safety in football? That’s like a pretty good interception right there. Pulled down to third. Off the glove at the end by Lor and he throws him out. Oh wow. Pinball. 563. Well, Tommy, can you hear me? All State good hands play well. One guy can’t do it, the other one can. What a team effort. I mean, what are the chances of that happening? This ball looked like a base hit all the way and Ben Pentos dives for the ball. kicks off him right to Lindor in stride basically and throws him out by plenty. Now the pitch and a swing and a one hopper glove by Bobby on the back hand in the outfield grass throws to first for the out. What a play by Bobby Wood Jr. to rob Jose Caviierro of a base hit to left field. Incredible play by Bobby. Quick dive to his right. Fires one to Vinnie and gets Caviierro for the out. a guy that runs very well, by the way. Play of the year candidate on April 30th. Here comes Irvin’s 10. Swinging a line drive. It’s a sprawling stop by Low. No, it’s caught in the air. He’ll throw to second. That should be a triple play. Now he’s going to throw to first and that’ll be a triple play. Yes, that’s going to be a triple play. He caught in the air. The runners ran. It’s a triple play. Low threw to second. They got the out there as he made the catch. They threw to first and that forced out the runner. Ventos, they have a triple play. The Nationals turn three to get out of the inning. Just like that. Two nothing Nationals lead after three and a half. And now they’re loaded for one of the hottest hitters in baseball in Kyle Sters. If this won’t get your heart rate going, I don’t know what will. And it all comes down to this. Now you got no wiggle room if you’re Miller in a big mono emano big boy matchup. Can Sters stay redot? Swinging a ball. Lifted in the air deep left center field. Sters. No way. A walk off grand slam. This kid is unconscious. No way did he do that. This place is going bananas. Oh my goodness. A hit as big as they get. And those new City Connect tops and bottoms are just a shining this afternoon. He punched Mason Miller right in the chops. Kyle stop. You can’t get the kid out right now, Rod. Perfect swing. You kidding me? On a 101 mph fast outside corner elevated, goes up to gets it and puts it in to the seats. He’s got enough power to go in that direction. What a win. What a comeback win for our guys today. Look at this fast ball. He’s not trying to pull it. That front foot is key though. You get that front foot down and now the timing is good. And Miller knew as soon as he threw this ball, it was trouble. Fast ball top of the zone. Stard gets the front foot down. He knew it was gone as soon as he hit it. He clobbered it. Unbelievable. What a performance for a ball club that has had their teeth kicked in time and time again this week. They’ve got their first win in a week and they snap a six-game losing streak. So Ernie Clemen moved over to second base the last few days and figures to stay there. Barger at third. Here’s Ben Williamson with a fly ball center field deep and jumping and it is he’s got it. He’s got it again. Dalton Vo robs Ben Williamson of a home run. Well, he did it perfectly. He got to the wall then timed his jump and went straight up instead of running and trying to time your jump. He got to the wall, knew he was in the right spot. Then he went straight up and made another terrific catch. Gossman’s gotten some good defensive support here tonight. And look at this effort by Marshall. He’s right to the wall. Goes straight up and hauls it in as Schwarber lifts one to deep right field. It’s number 300 off the facing of the upper deck. What a shot by Kyle Schwarber and the Phillies now lead it seven to three. 466 ft. Goodness. And you figured a milestone home run for Kyle Schwarber would come with some length to it. Wow. Imagine hitting 300 doubles in your career. 300 homers. My goodness. And with authority. it again. It comes against a left-hander, which is so appropriate considering how well he has hit left-handers this year. Very rarely you see balls go up there in batting practice. He does it in the game. 466. One out. Base is empty. Leadoff man Carrie Carpenter fly to left. Strike out swinging and a single against Hunter Dobbins. First pitch swinging vaulted high and deep to right. Abrau’s back at the track. Abrau Raphael and combined to make the catch. Are you kidding? Off of Breu’s glove and a basket catch from Satan. Oh my god. Have you ever seen anything like this in your life? Look at this. Williams got a beat on it. He goes up over the fence off the heel of the glove and look at Sadon there to clean it up. Are you kidding me? What a heads up play. And what a big break for the Red Sox. Love the reaction. We were losing our minds. Now, looks like they are going to take a look at this. But from our replays we’ve seen, there’s nothing that tells me that would be overturned cuz it didn’t touch anything but the glove of Will Abrau before Sadon caught it. A crew chief review and Abrau, Duran, and Raphaela sharing the same reaction as all of us. Will you’re with the assist. You got to be kidding me. And Son did the baseball version of a dembe matumbbo. No, no, no. Not in my house. After review, the call on the field is confirmed. It is a catch. No home run. Just unreal. Unreal. Your old 98 put out. That’s the best reaction is Will you’re just laughing because that is insanity. The joint robbery, not a one-man operation. We’re a team out there. This is Ben Affleck and Jeremy Rener. Deep to center. Harris still going back at the wall. Oh my goodness. That’s exactly what he did last year here in a series in late August against Philadelphia. He brought that back and robs Ker of a three-run homer. You expect anything less from Michael Harris. We have a great view of it and you knew this ball was headed out. At the same time, I feel like, you know what, Michael’s going to get this one. The wall here a little bit lower. It lends itself to the ability to rob home runs. When you have the great defense of Michael Harris, it’s old hat for him. That’s not even his best catch in this ballpark. And that was amazing. Our All State good hands replay and said it’s old hat. Scott Blue tips his hat towards Harris. Certainly appreciating that play. Boy, did Quantrol get a big double play to get himself out of that jam in the top half of the third. Nothing and one the count to the lead off batter Jonathan Aronda. 56 total pitches coming into this inning for Quantrol. 17 fast balls, 10 sinkers. So you bunch those together, that’s 27 fast balls, 11 cutters. 38 of the 56 pitches have been the the hot and hard stuff. 02 went with a cutter. Got him swinging. One away. So he’s kind of flipped the script here this afternoon against the Rays. I’m sure the Rays were looking at all the numbers on Quantro this year. As we get a look at this last pitch, it’s a cutter top of the strike zone. Gets around the swing right through it. He’s a good contact hitter. But the Braves, they’re looking for that splitfingered pitch is one of the reasons why he’s been able to be one step ahead of them and throw them fast balls when he normally would throw that splitter. We showed you his pitch distribution at the beginning of the contest. That splitter is the pitch he throws the most by far, 28%. Marlins trailing one- nothing here in the top of the fourth. Marlins are four and four this season in games started by Cal Quantrol and in a majority of those games the offense has done their part to support him and Christopher Morell’s got some huge power. Hasn’t done a whole lot since coming from the Cubs though last year at the trade deadline. Good fast ball called strike three. Back-to- back strikeouts by Quantrol to begin the fourth. Before they realize what Quantrol is doing, let’s hope that the Marlins score a few runs because he’s not using the splitter. He’s using a lot of fast balls and welllo fast balls. Here’s that last pitch. Breaking ball down. Change the eye level. You go north upstairs. That’s called pitching right there. North and south. Not so much east and west these days. Used to be east and west. Umpires used to give you a lot off that outside corner, but now you can’t get balls called off the plate. So, they go up and down. You’re more often to either get them to swing at that high fast ball or you get a chance to give your catcher to frame it at the bottom of the zone. Well, there’s a big reason for that, too. The buffer zone has changed this season, and not many were aware of it. Homeplayed umpires used to have 2 in of buffer in, out, up, and down. That’s been reduced to a quarter of an inch and that’s how they’ve been judged this season. So the tight the strike zones have gotten much tighter as the O2 is swung on it. Miss strike three. Do it. Do it Cal. That is an immaculate inning for Calantrol here in the top of the fourth. Five for Gourd through two innings. Driven to center by Nunees. Mullins racing. Oh, he got it. He stuck out his arm and reeled it in. Are you kidding me? How in the world did Cedric Mullins get to that ball? That ball beat him. It was hit so hard. There is no way he should have made this catch. Look where he’s a little bit shallow right there. So, he is off and moving. Running wide open to back to infield. And watch, he just stabs it and somehow comes up with it. That right there is the best play you will see today. I promise you in Major League Baseball on a Willie Mazesesque, but with the other hand catch by Cedric Mullins. I don’t know how he keeps finding new ways to make insane plays. They all look different. had that incredible catch yesterday coming in toward right center and then I’ve never seen him make a catch that looks quite like that. No way he should have caught that ball and Nunes can’t believe it and I don’t blame him. Harrison Bader on deck. Tying run at the plate in the top of the eighth. Fly ball left center. Cheerio back and he will lead and he caught it. Churion brought it back. Wow. My goodness. Certainly would have been out of the ballpark. Perfectly timed lead and saves the lead for the time being. Wow. Perfect angle. timed his leak perfectly and able to bring him back. That was a homer. Nice. First robbery for Jackson Churio and Royce Lewis tipped his cap all the way back into his own dugout. What a play. The Brewers were so good at Robin Homers a year ago. One more look at Churio climbing the wall. Everything has to work perfectly in conjunction with the rest to be able to make that catch. Well done. Runner breaks for second here out to center. Harris sprinting straight back. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. That is as sensational as it gets. Michael Harris. I feel like I just saw a ghost. How did he do that? And of all the plays that Michael has made, that’s one of the greatest catches he has ever made. And that’s really making a statement. Wow. What a play by Michael. And that ends the top of the inning. A homer for Wood. And that’s all the Nationals get. We go to the bottom of the fourth inning. 2-1 Braves. He got turned around here, right? Because it was hit on such a line. Again, what you love is that’s full speed right in that wall. He knows exactly where that is and then he had one chance to put his glove up right here. Watch how he catches and you see kind of turns a little at the end. But again, look at that. He got turned around, puts his head back. You know, I always say, man, that’s just an athlete making a play right there. You could tell the reaction by everybody. And here he is. The long awaited moment. Akuna back to the plate. A sight for sore eyes. Akuna is back in that batter’s box and ready to take his first hacks at the major league level since May 26 of last season. Look at this. Are you kidding me? He is back. I have goosebumps. I have goosebumps. The first pitch and Akuna scorches it over the left center field wall. Some guys are just meant for the moments. Ronald Akuni Jr. is one of those guys. He had never seen Nick Pavetta. Nick Pavetta is having a really good year. The first pitch he sees, he hits it into the left field stands. Unbelievable. That’s like out of a movie. And you’re absolutely right. Incredible to think like does he want to get comfortable? Does he want to see a pitch? He doesn’t know this guy. No, he jumps on that first pitch fast and Nick Paveta has got a good one, but not good enough against Ronald. What a tone setter. Welcome back number 13. Now you’re going to see this fast ball right down the middle. Ronald is ready. 116 off the bat and 467 ft. That is a bomb. Taking a different look here. He puts a swing on it to center field. Denzel Clark going back towards the wall and leaps up for the catch. Oh my god. Denzel Clark showing up the speed and the Spider-Man skills back on his home turf. Give that man a standing o. The patience, the presence. You can watch Denzel start to scale back and then scale the wall. I mean, he was waiting on this thing. You want to talk about making it look easy. I mean, Denzel’s just posted up about 3 and 1/2 ft above the center field wall waiting. Oh, he knows what he’s all about. He knows what he’s doing. Jordan right there. You know, that right side is loaded. Fly ball deep right. It is way back and out of the air. First career walkoff home run for and it is grand. Heat. Heat. All he was trying to do was lift. Get it into the outfield. He lifted. It separated. They got a hanging slider. He just hammered it. I’m telling you, is this not a great game or what? I mean, one to nothing going into the ninth. How about the Brewers pitching? the volley the bullpen. Outstanding work by all of them and the Brewers figure out a way to win this one here tonight. After the pitching change for Arizona, we’re back at Chase Field where things have been wild all Friday night. And now it’s come down to this man having to face Otani Kim and Conorto ready to run. First and second, one gone in a tie game in the ninth. The one-two coming from Thompson and Otani torches one, tosses the bat and watches it fly breaks the tie with a three-run bomb because of course and Otani swings and he hammers it deep right field way back and gone. A threerun home run for Shi Otani. What a show. He is incredible. his 12th home run. And the Dodgers with a six spot in the ninth lead it 14-11. Can you believe this? This is why people don’t leave their seats when Otani steps onto the field. Oh, did he crush it? What an inning. What a comeback. Shi Otani has brought a sellout crowd to their feet with an amazing blast. 426 ft into the right field seats. center field. Fredel at the wall. He made the catch and the Reds win. He takes away a bomb from Bowers and the Reds survive to tie the series. The play of the red season. Wow. Yeah, that ball off the bat. I’m thinking, “Oh my goodness, please get there, TJ.” And he does such a nice job of getting to that wall and going up and getting that ball. Yes. to show it to the fans. Freedy. Well, John, we beat him. It It wasn’t easy, but we beat him. What a way to end what has been a tremendous game tonight here at Great American Ballpark. That was definitely a home run. That ball was over the yellow line. And Fredel shows he can do it with the glove as well as the bat. I mean, you can’t time the jump any better. Fredel pumped up, came down, landed, pounded his chest, and he is fired up. How can you not be when you rob a home run to end the game? Cal Raleigh will lead things off. 29 home runs on the year when he clubs number 30. That will be a major league record for the most home runs by a switch hitter in major league history before the end of the first half. The look in by Valencia and the right-handers. Two-1 on the way to Cal. Swinging a fly ball into left field and deep going back is half to the one he track to the wall and it’s gone and he does it. Number 30 the other way here at Wrigley Field. Cal Rowley has just hit more home runs than any switch hitter in the history of the game of baseball before the end of the first half of a season. He goes on by Mickey Mantel, Lance Burkeman, and Jos Ramirez. He is unbelievable. He hits him out from the right side, the left side, and I think Cal can hit a home run standing on his head right now. Cal Raleigh, a remarkable year, and it just continues. Number 30 for Cal Rowley. Three and two towards shortstop. That’s a nice play by Bayz to secure and out. Elago can move from position to position. All right, that’s a great play right there. Throwing from the ground. He did not set his feet. Check this out. Ranging to his left, full extension from his knees, right on the money. And Kapper runs well. You know, he loves making plays here. He just loves being a part of winning. Blind ball to deep left center field. This is problematic. Sters is back at the wall and he makes the catch. That was a terrific catch by Kyle Sters in left. Kyle Sters worked back to the warning track in left center field. Reached up and pulled down a surefire double. Reached up and speared that fly ball that seemed well over his head. This one down the left field line. Lucas racing over and he’s got it. What a play deep in the corner by Nathan Lucas. What a catch. Nathan Lucas sliding into the sidewall. Two down. How about that? An outfield assist, a diving catch. What a day for Nathan Lucas so far. From our view, he actually disappeared into the corner making the catch, but you knew he got it because Barger put two hands in the air. Gosman put two hands in the air. Vlatty took his hat off. They were all loving it. Checking the runners. Little pop. Aronado foul. Brown onto the warning track. He’s got it into the net again. Oh, he caught this plenty early. momentum carried him in. That’s two catches he’s made like that this season going into the stands and comes up with a huge play. But Aronado made an unbelievable catch then fell into the screen and threw the ball to third base. Chop off the mound is Rodon. Offbalance throw. Got him. Beautiful play on both ends. Rodon make the acrobatic play. That’s gold glove quality. You don’t see a jump throw like that from a pitcher, especially a lefty having to go to the third base side. Drive to right field. If it’s fair, it’s gone. And it is gone. There’s a cruise missile. Wow. 122.9 m an hour. I was going to say that had to be the hardest ball. Wow. There’s no doubt that that that ball had to land 50 ft in the river. Let’s make it 123 for his 11th home run of the season and one of the most impressive of his career. High pop left side. Aronado gives chase. Still going. Still going. Still going. He makes a basket catch and tumbles it into the net. What a play by Aronado. Incredible grab. A terrific sensational play for Aronado to retire Sodto. So, not only a basket catch and went diving into the screen and into the front row and landed on a couple of kids who were in tears and Nolan gave him the baseball. To the bottom of the ninth we go. The pitch is drilled high and deep into right field. Kito walkoff. He got the hanging curve. He launches into the bullpen and the Red Sox win it. So two down for Jose Cavierro who lifts one in the air left center long run Varo and he has got it. Another night and another great defensive play. Dalton Vo flips a souvenir to a fan after a fantastic catch. One, two, three inning for Chad Green. Wow. bouncer toward the right side and that’s going to get into right field of base hit. Santana’s around second. He’s heading toward third. The throw by Castanos. He is out at third. What a beautiful extension by Castanos. One out here in the second inning. Yeah, I was really surprised that Santana tried to go first and third. I guess maybe they had a scattering report that uh Nick Castanos wasn’t going to come get this very aggressively, but he did and made a heck of a throw. the 2-2 swinging a fly ball into deep left center field. Julio going back to the warning track near the wall. Leaps up. Does he make the catch? And yeah, he does. Oh no. Yes, he does. He fooled me. He had it. He pumped his fist like he was upset. Wow. He flashes the nofly zone. He robs a home run from Trent Bishop. Julio, you got me. He went over the wall in left center field and then he did a little dance across the warning track. Yeah, he brought it back. I thought he did. What a catch by Julio. Robbing Gisham. Anel Serpa with oneon-one out and grounded left side. Junior diving play for a force out at second base and a double play. And the thought being the Royals maybe would get one at second base and they get two. Oh my gosh, what a double play. Bobby to Massie to Vinnie. Unbelievable. A ball headed up the middle. A dive to his right by Bobby. What a double play. My goodness. To end the inning. You’ll never see one better than that. Carol bloops one on the right side and Vinnie makes a sliding play. Chance for a double play. Got him. That was great. Wow. How about that for a heads up play? You can’t teach that or practice that. Vinnie Pascantino makes an over the shoulder catch and throws back to first for a double play. Vinnie Pascantino with his back to the infield on the edge of the outfield press. Made an over the shoulder catch and very quickly spun around and gunned it over to first. Good pitch center field. PCA drifting back back home near the wall. How did he make the catch? What? Holy cow. Brick wall and Ivy. That’s south number one, everybody. Joshua Palasios drove one just to the left of dead center directly over Pete Cro Armstrong’s head. He ran back and made a very athletic backhanded catch. had to be thinking about that ivy covered brick wall. Suarez in the air to left. Is this number 300? And yes, it is. We know it’s Gino. 300 career home runs for AU Heno Suarez. The 12th active major leager to get to 300 homers. Congratulations, Gino. It’s 11 to7 Diamondbacks. I’m so happy for him. I mean, he worked so hard. You can see his teammates are going to really get on him now when he gets in the dugout. Congratulate him. Boy, just a little slider. He’s homeman in his last two at bats. Numbers 23 and 24 for the season. And that one number 300 for the career of Auane Suarez. Only 12 active players have hit 300 homers. It’s an impressive list. John Carlos Stanton, Mike Trout, Paul Goldmith, Manny Machado, Freddy Freeman, Nolan Aronado, Bryce Harper, Aaron Judge, Carlos Santana, Andrew McCutchen, Kyle Schwarber, and now Gino Suarez. Look, he’s so happy right now. Everybody’s congratulating. That’s a big milestone. 300 homers. Sure is. Steer in his last nine. How about 455 OPS over,300 line to left. Sheets back. Three home runs. Backto backto back at bats. The first Red to launch three in a game in four years. Jesse Winker, June 6, 21 in St. Louis. Spencer Steer here tonight against the Padres’s Mark. Many of the fans are still standing. Dave, they want a curtain call. They want Steer to come out. Give the people what they want. Gavin Lut telling them. Well, Spencer Steer is seeing the ball. Great. Looks like this was a splitter that was just up in the in the zone. And man, look at that swing. Outstanding. As far as the curtain call, the pitch clock has changed that a little bit. Big out for Wilson. Strikes out Wade. One out. And now Moore will bat. And he hits an art out to right center field. Pretty. Raphael is back. It’s over his hand. It’s off the wall. It might be a home run. Moore’s racing on his way to third. The game is tied at least as Moore has a triple and I think he’s won it. Save it to the Red Sox. It’s a home run. They’re going to check it first. Sibo says, “See you later.” Somebody’s have to get him a new jersey. If it has to go back, they know it’s gone. It is gone. Wow. Simo Cu Drive home comfortably. What a night for Christian Moore. That is insane. The game tying and gamewinning home runs. By the way, he’s got like five seconds in the big leagues. Well, it was the Simo show tonight at Angel Stadium as the rookie second baseman comes through in two massive ways. And the Angels win this series with a 3-2 10 in victory. Absolutely incredible. What a swing. That’s his power. Even though he pulled the last home run out, he’s got great power to right center. And that ball got out in a hurry. Seriously. Wow. It’s a doggy dog world out there. That was before he knew they won the game. He goes, “Wait, I’m going home. I won this thing.” Unreal. Wow. First homer allowed this year by Justin Wilson. Oh, that is unreal. First round pick out of Sivera Park, Maryland back in 2021. And he hits it high in the air deep right field. Kagleó’s at the fence. Leaps. Did he get it? Yes. Yes, he did. What a catch from Jack Kaggleó. Needed every inch of that 6’5 frame. Oh man, what a time to make a highlight reel. The first of his career. And he goes up a long way and brought that baby back. That was great. Fantastic. And that’s Lumberjack showing some leather. Woo! That saved the game. Now all he needs is a game-winning homer. Lucas Ersk’s reaction is everybody. Jack Kagleon keeps the game tied at two and one 22year-old robs another. Woo! That was beautiful timing. Oh, we’re going to be seeing that one again and again and again for a long time. Luis Garcia flies one to right center. Over in the gap comes Taylor diving and he made the catch. Oh wow. Tyrone Taylor, Superman. Spectacular play by Tyrone Taylor to end the top of the six. More than good hands. This is just a spectacular play by Taylor off the bat. Yeah, off the bat, Gary. This looked like a straight double. And his speed just tracked it. But not only that, the ability to control your body, make the catch, land so hard, and still retain the ball is what makes that play. Lie to right. Long run for Freley on the dive. Takes it away. My goodness, did you see that? Perfectly timed. Full extension. 10 out of 10. Jake Freley. Wow. Even Freley is pumped on that one. That was one heck of a play. All out. Full dive. Lay it all on the line. Push all your chips in, baby. Nice play. You miss that ball. He’s to third. He could score with the wrong carum. That’s guts. That is talent. That is timing. Pitching and defense are fun, folks. Homers are fun, too. Don’t get me wrong, but pitching and defense are fun. That one a looper. Can Gor get back there? Still going. What a play by Luis Gior. Unbelievable acrobatic catch in shallow left field. He went tumbling and hit the ground hard. And Mauricio Duvan just watched one of the better plays of the season defensively. We are seeing some spectacular defense in this game. And I had no idea that Luis Gore was going to throw his body at this baseball like he was. He called off Dubon and then left, reached, grabbed, and maintained the catch. This is remarkable. What a play. The way he contorted his body and landing too. The fact that he held on after making that play. That was spectacular from Luis. The beard still looks great. One-1. That’s hit deep in the air to left center. Denzel Clark on the run. He’s still going. He’s still going. He reaches out and oh, did he catch that baseball? Oh my god. Oh my goodness. He caught the baseball. Oh my god. I have never in my life seen an individual run that hard, that fast into a wall, let alone hold on to the ball. Chris, he stands up and he’s making his way off the field under his own power. Get on your horse and ride. Denzel picking him up and putting him down headlong into the wall and he held on. That is a catch, folks. And that just might be the best catch these guys have ever seen. That was unbelievable. 28.8 ft per second on the sprint speed. That ball, Chris, had a 25% catch probability. Denzel Clark traveled over 120 ft to snag that baseball at top speed. I I have I have no words. I I just I It is It is by far the best catch I’ve ever seen. Well, I tell you, I I just when you see a guy moving that quickly and you are watching him run out of room, I mean, you only all you can do is hold your breath. Boom. At second, Castianos at first. Two down in the Phillies third inning. In the air to center field. Merrill going back towards the wall. He leaps and Merrill makes the catch in center field. Oh, that’s Jackson Merrill. A little Merrill madness. Time to catches it. Brings it back. The 401 marker. Good hands replay. Jackson Merrill timing the lead perfectly to make this grab. It does not get much better than this. A little hang time, too, cuz it’s he misdimed that jump just a hair. had to hang up there at the top of the jump and made a outstanding play. What was Waldron’s reaction? And this one to center field. Denzel Clark on the move back after he stepped over. He makes another catch. Oh my god. Backto back weeks where he wins the electric play of the week and he’s already on the leaderboard for this week. You go ahead and book it. I’ve heard the list. I’ve seen the list of the greatest catches you’re ever going to see in your life. If you don’t have room for this one on your list, we’re watching two different sports. I mean, Denzel Clark climbs the ladder and then hangs out. You want to talk about playing above the rim, folks? This ball is out of the ballpark by 5, six feet. And Denzel says, “Nigh nigh. Give me that back.” Can we talk about his first step being in towards home? Blake started coming towards the ball before he had to retreat and go back. Dallas, this is a guy who’s doing things in the game. In his first 16 games that we have not seen in quite some time. I mean, that’s got to be worth two or three defensive runs saved. I know there’s only one guy at the PL. I mean, my goodness. So Reagan’s already returned. Michael Lorenzan back as well. They’ve talked about him maybe moving to the bullpen just so Noah Cameron can stay up here with the big club. Two swing and a deep blast way out into left field. Judge can’t stop. Won’t stop. Why would he? Two-run jack in the first. Two nothing Yikes. Did you see it land? Where did that ball go? Way past the Royals Hall of Fame. My goodness. Home run number 24 for Aaron Judge. It’s two nothing Yankees. I mean that there are home runs. They’re blast. And then there’s that. That is just a moonshot. Can tell by the look of his face. Did you get it? Yeah, I got all of that one. Yeah. Yeah, you did. there and judge. My gosh. 118 mph up the bat. Really? 469 ft. I’ve never seen one hit up there at at the K here at Royal Stadium. He almost hit it out of the stadium. That’s never even come close to being done here. He just almost did it. He’s making a bid to hit it completely out of the ballpark. Timeout by Bellinger. Bellinger with a fly ball of center in the first. Has a 15game hitting streak coming into this one. He took it to the wire last night with that great great at bat late in the game. Highfly ball. Tucker back. He’s on the track. He’s at the wall. See youa. A 16game hitting streak. A two-run home run. And it’s three nothing Yanks. Cody Bellinger’s 14th of the year. Bid his old teammates here. longest in his career. Another 12 to six just kind of sits there. Cody Bellinger waits on it. Gets just enough to get it into the seats here in Yankee Stadium. Tucker went back like he was going to have a shot. Second or third row. High drive right field. Tucker back trap wall. See youa. What a shot by Bellinger. Another two-run blast. Five nothing Yanks. Well, it kind of answers your question, doesn’t it, Michael? How’s he going to do off a tough lefty? Well, well, another two-run homer. Cody Bellinger. Boy, I tell you what, you take away April, he’d be playing at Atlanta, too. He still can make a case. First multi home run game here in pinstripes. Putting on a shelf for his old team. Ball up in the strike zone and he has no problem getting to it. Stays tall, stays behind it, stays in there against a lefty. See how he’s behind the baseball. Earlier we were looking at PZA how he kind of drifts. Bellinger stay behind and just be able to drive against his front foot and just launch it. Highfly ball right field. Tucker back. He’s on the track. So is the center fielder who leaps and that ball is gone. It’s a threerun a two-run home run by Bellinger. His third home run of the night. Oh, what a night from Bellinger. It is 10 nothing Yanks. Michael, he almost lost another one. Are you kidding me? That would have been four tonight. Well, at least he got three off the bat. I thought this was way gone. All of a sudden, Pet Cro Armstrong comes flying in and you had to wait and see if this one got taken away again. I don’t think he can believe it. Call and you know Cody Bellinger hustles out of the box. The last thing you want to do is see him go flying by Judge and he’s out, right? for a moment there. He thought he got robbed again. Then he stopped. He didn’t know what to do. And here is Buckton. Likely his last chance to make some history. He’s never hit for the cycle. The Twins have never had a player hit for the cycle at this ballpark. He’s a home run shy of doing just that. He’s had one career five hit game. He’s four for four today. Two singles, a triple, a double. And the 02 in the air to center field. Cruz going back. Cruz to the wall. Looks up. It is gone. He’s done it. Byron Buckton. A cycle. A seventh inning home run to straightaway center field. The Twins have their first cycle as a team since 2019. First cycle ever at Target Field. And guess who? The Allstar Byron Buckton. Down a couple of strikes here. Perk two. Thought he I thought he missed his chance on the 01 sinker and then Haney tried to sneak a curveball underneath the bat and Byron Bucks was ready. Dead central. Broken bat. A flare to left field. Montgomery. Will he get there? Oh, what a catch in his big league debut. You see what Coulson Montgomery can do. Welcome to the show. What a play by Coulson Montgomery. Well, that will be on the highlight reel all season long as maybe the one to beat. That was spectacular. That is one of the best catches we’ve seen this season. And he didn’t look like he had a prayer of catching that. It saved a run. Wow. 2-1 Diamond backs. Manny Machado sitting on 1,999 hits. Leads off against Zack Allen. Left side off the glove for Purdomo. Hit number 2000 of his career for Manny Machado as he continues to build on his resume towards the hall. Heat. Heat. A swing as sweet as ever since his first hit back in 2012. A triple chucked up 2,000 for number 13. What a beautiful thing. Congratulations to Manny Machado. Well, I know he’s a big slugger. We’ll see if there’s a challenge pitch here. Fast ball away and Green knows what to do with it. Jacob Young playing with the Got it. Literally pulling it back into the ballpark. Maybe his best overthe-wall play ever. Oh, he wants to see the replay. Show him scoreboard. That’s what I’m talking about. Elevate to celebrate over the wall. What a beauty. the timing. Judge it. Perfect job by JY. Yeah, why not challenge a hitter with that guy playing behind you? Riley loving this moment right now. Give it up for the kid. Let’s go. Yeah, it’s worth a mount visit, isn’t it? Well played, Riley Adams. Well played. Have a feel for the game. eye it. Use it. Another breaking ball. This one hit a long way by Sanchez to center. Mullins. No, he didn’t. No, you cannot be serious. No. No way. No way. You didn’t catch that. Yes. I want to see the baseball. I still don’t believe it. I mean, just watch this. Breaking and running. A quick peak. A second peak of the wall. One leg up he goes. Uses his hand. Pushes up even higher. Watch him grab with his left hand just to elevate on the wall a little bit longer. Knows exactly where it is. And that is just absolutely perfect timing. But there’s another layer to him making those catches. He pushes his spikes into the wall to push himself up. That amazing catch he had in game one. He said, “Yeah, my spikes didn’t stick that time.” And I basically had to will my body to stay suspended up there to make it. He was annoyed cuz he knows how these walls play. So, it’s just so many different pieces. But he knows this place better than anybody else and he shows it. He’s climbing like Spider-Man. Here’s Bailey. It’s a high drive way out in right field. It is off the bricks. This game is tied. Bailey’s on the move. Bailey’s on the move and this game is over. Oh my goodness. I did not see that coming. Neither did my voice. I think he did good. Well, let’s take a look at it. I mean, he puts a charge into it, back spins, and takes on the right center field gap. It had the sound, but you never trust Triples Alley. And watch the bounce come off the car. Right on the top of the wall and kicks away from Marsh. And Patrick Bailey goes inside the park to walk it off. And you talk about lighting up a crowd. That’s a great shot from the drone. They all score. Unbelievable. Well, we’re both out of juice and it feels good. Final score. Giants four Phillies three. One and two. The ravine rises ready to erupt. 3K for Caro. Heat. Heat. Prior to the time 19 in the history of the game to strike down 3,4 the 20th pitcher in baseball history. The fourth left-handed pitcher, but only the third to record 3,000 career strikeouts with one team. Clayton Edward Kershaw. pitchers in baseball. Dodger continal time for everyone. I’m sure many of his teammates holding back tears as we are here in the booth. one strikeout that released 2,999 emotions and the embrace between Clayton Kershaw and Dave Roberts. At the start of the six, the thought probably was for most one more batter, the lefty and he grounded out. Doc stayed with him after a hit. Doc stayed with him after the injury to Max Muny. Doc stayed with him. It was on his slider. It wasn’t a swing and miss. It wasn’t a chase. It was back door on the corner. They’re asking for a curtain call here in Dodger Stadium. I don’t know if Clayton is going to go see Max or he’s going to come back out to the crowd. Staff pours out of the clubhouse and the offices to share the celebration. There was one more box to check for this beautiful man in this beautiful sport, in this beautiful stadium, and what a wonderful career. It’s not over yet, but this is pretty much the last box that he needed to check. Two major surgeries, a long rehab, over 20 strikeouts he needed, and he got 3,000 tonight. Heat. Heat. You got words, partner? Cuz I don’t. I just think it’s magnificent that it happened at home and now he’s waving to his family. That is the good stuff. This one out to deep center. Young back at the wall. He got it. Jacob Young defying gravity. Let’s watch the catch again, Franny. Oh, Will Benson gets into this one. He finally, you know, gets it solid, but it’s the angle. It’s the steps. We saw just a couple in the last trip kind of mist time his steps a little bit and slip. This time he doesn’t. This guy’s been hitting big home runs his whole career. You go back to the five home runs he hit as a rookie for the Cubs in the postseason. Hey, TK Scubble uh he finished a long time ago, but he had to come back out to watch him street close. This is like in in basketball. You know how you shoot free throws with your teammates there and then you get a technical and you shoot without a free without anybody there. Hitting right here is the same thing. There’s no outfielders. It’s just you and the pitcher trying to launch one early. to get within one. 40,000 eyes all burning holes through you. Schwarber in the air to center field headed towards the wall and gone to dead center. That’s huge for the National League. They’re within one. So there you go. He said if he could get it on his first swing and he did. Swarm bombs in the Allstar game. Oh, tied at three. That’s MVP material. If he gets a third one right here, this guy, if he stopped playing, he’ll be a softball superstar. Pretty darn good baseball superstar. Al rallied in the game. NL has rallied in the swing with the hattick. Look out, Chop House. National League takes the lead four to three. Unbelievable. Three for three for Kyle Shorber. I mean, he went down to a knee after this one. You just have there’s no words to describe that. That that is one of the most clutch things you’re ever going to see. No words to describe it. And I have no idea how to score it either. Got to put it somewhere in the official score. This is unprecedented though. And when you look at Curts in the American League, he has certainly made an impact on the baseball. 38 extra base hits since April 23rd. That’s the day he made his major league debut. Now he goes inside out deep to left. Four. Forget about that baseball. Come on. It’s It’s ridiculous. His 20th of the year. Make that 39 extra base hits for Curts on the year. And that is a screamer to left. Five to nothing. And Chris, this ball is just sort of flipped out of the ballpark by Nick Kurts. I mean, that’s an 82 mph back door breaking ball that he absolutely melts. 01 in the air to deep left. Houston, you do have a problem. His name is the big Amish. This kid is incredible. 10-2. His second home run of the night. His 21st of the year. And the Astro faithful are fed up with Curts. And if you’ve got a seat to this ball game in the cropper boxes, just hold tight. Nick Curts will get you a souvenir sooner or later. Well, you got to go all the way back to 1998. I was a freshman in high school. That was the last time that you had an A’s rookie with a fiveh hit game. First pitch. Oh my goodness. It’s unbelievable. This kid is on another planet. Nick Kurts is in a universe all his own. That high five line is very different than any other five high five line we have seen. Churned and burned on. He’s in a hitter friendly count. I mean, isn’t every count for him hitter friendly? Swing and a drive deep to left. He’s done it four times. What a magical night for the big Amish. Smooth as butter, baby. Shut it up. Incredible. Simply incredible. Oh my god. Oh my god. Is right. Astros fans here at the ballpark behind the dugout are on their feet tipping their cap. First player in athletics history with a four homer game. Chris, I have been fortunate enough to watch a lot of baseball, watch a lot of good baseball, seen a lot of incredible things happen. History has been made tonight. And we’re actually going to get to talk baseball with Clayton. I can’t believe you’re doing this, Clayton. I can’t either. I’m going to try to throw some cheese real quick. Hold on. Puts it in the air to left field and a sliding catch by Kyle Tucker. That was sick. Easy. That was sick. Kyle Tucker now with the Cubs enjoying a great season and enjoying a great catch. This might be my last batter, guys. That was sweet. Yeah. How hard was that one? 91. It was an out. It was an out. All right. Going cheese again. Okay. Oh yeah. I mean, you and Paul SK are pretty much the same guy. Right down the middle. I’m so glad he didn’t swing. Okay, I’m going curveball here. Okay. Oh, that was short. What now? Double up. All right. Now, I think I probably got to go slider. Let’s think what Will thinks. But I think I got to go slider here. No. No. He wants curveball again. All right. Fine. Hey, Uncle Charlie. Okay. What do you want, Smoltzy? What do you want? Uh, cut her in. Slide her in. I don’t throw a cutter. Slide her in. Cutter. Son of a Going to make him mad. That was short. How about this splitty? Break out the count. Two, two. This is so weird talking to you guys. It’s kind of still. Hey, sit him down. I think that might be it. I think that’s it. And uh what a year, buddy. What a career and what a moment. Soak it in. Thanks, brother. All right. Thanks. Thanks, dude. Thanks, guys. That was fun. That was fun. Thank you. Thanks, dude. Thanks, brother. That was fun. Ah, thanks Jesse Winker grounded out his first time against Brandon Young who has been super efficient so far. The 0 and one bounced on the ground foul to first pass Antoine Richardson, the Mets first base coach. It’s 0 and2. Brandon Young needs three outs to set a careerhigh. He’s gone no further in any start than four and two/3s. And three of his four starts having four on the dot. But tell you what, he’s the story right now. Three strikeouts, only two hits allowed and the O2 waving a miss for strike three. So make it four punch outs. Young going to the splitter. And you said it earlier, Brett, Tony Manelino wants that split to be down in the strike zone and he’s been good at keeping that pitch at the bottom of the zone and he got Winker to cut through it. Of course, you know Frankie Lindor is Mr. Smile. Pete Alonzo is a polar bear. Pitch to Luis Terren fouls this off the catch or a home plate umpire. Strike one. Jeff McNeel according to what I researched today is the flying squirrel. The flying squirrel. We might have to have the interns make sure I’m right on that, but I believe that is his nickname. Well, he’s 6’1, the 01 nub foul at home plate by Tren’s. No balls and two strikes, but I’m sure we have a Mets fan listening now. Maybe it’s one of those nicknames that’s like seven years old. No one calls him that anymore, but hey, if I’m the Flying School, I’m living and dying by that name. Yeah. I mean, maybe you’re bringing it back, Brett. Yeah, I’d love to be the flying squirrel. No balls, two strikes, two outs. Young trying for five scoreless in the 02. Strike three called. He struck out the side in the fifth inning. An immaculate inning by Brandon Young in his fifth major league start. If you had that on your bingo card tonight, hey baby, let’s go to Vegas. Let’s stay there a while. Nine pitches, nine strikes, three strikeouts. That’s an immaculate inning. An extreme rarity. Two and two. Palasios was off balance on a curveball. It’s a popup third base side. It’s a long run. Dingler tips it. Oh, no. No, no, no. Come on. Zack McKenstry hauls it in. Wow. I mean, they do birthday parties, bar mitzvah, and anniversaries, too. The Dingler McKinstry juggling team book today. That’s something you don’t see every day. What in the world? How did Zach know to react like that? I don’t think he knew how to react like that. We’ve now seen we’ve seen Abrau and Raphaela for the Red Sox tip a ball in the outfield in the same 3-w weekek span as this ludicrous thing. The other way and deep. Fernando back at the wall. That ball is gone off the wall apparently or on the transfer. Not sure which. He got it on the transfer. The indication by the umpire. He dropped the ball. But what a catch for Fernando. This is unbelievable. Did you see the flash? Look, there’s the catch. Brings it back. There’s the tra. What a catch, Fernando. You are unbelievable. That is spectacular. Wow. There’s Michael Bush teeing off. The Cubs have hit three home runs to start. What I tell you about him? You told me about PCA two nothing wheezy, but I told you about Michael Bush and how good this young man is and getting a chance to finally play every day. He’s excellent defensively and he can do that all day long. He’s playing with a lot of confidence. There’s another drop. Michael Bush is second of the day. What a ridiculous start for the Cubs. They’ve hit six home runs. You’re going to see this more. Here’s a fly ball left center field. already deep back for his new bar and it’s gone. It’s eight home runs in a game for the first time in the history of the Chicago Cubs. An eight homer game for the Cubs for a franchise that dates back all the way to the beginning of the National League in 1876. They have broken their alltime single game home run record and Michael Bush has hit three of them. Tell you what, Wayne, there’s going to be a lot of barbecues we going to be invited to after this ball game today. There’s going to be a lot of happy people from the north side up. That one’s floated out towards shallow center field. On the run as Sosa makes the catch. What a play by Edmundo Sosa. So athletic. Oh, what a grab by Edmundo Sosa. 70 or 80 feet way out into shallow center field. Sosa runs it down high in the air with the glove hand on the backhand side. Little leap and he snags it. Tremendous catch. Wisely. And he slings it. And they got him. Go ahead and put in some work, Brett Wisley. This is an unreal play. The athleticism to a get to this ball to b get up and have enough ump on it. Sticks it, baby. That is playing some ball right there. Chopped up the middle and what a play. How about that play? That’s Jose Glacius. OMG. Up the middle. Flips it on the ground. gets a lead runner. Oh, this is worth another look. There’s the high chopper. Jose, do your stuff. Oh, behind the back. Hey, great job by Jake the bag and just anticipating that. I mean, you never know, right? And then Jake with the bare hand. Highfly ball right field and deep going back. Judge leaps and he makes the play. He took a home run away from Carl Armstrong. Being 67 helps at the wall too, Michael. It’s not only adds power and things, but you know, I would think Armstrong thought he had this one for almost fan interference. Another payoff. Popped him up behind home plate. Contras got a late break on it and slides and caught it. Unbelievable play by William Contras. He’s able to hang on and slide up against the netting and make the play. That is an outstanding effort from the Brewers back stop. It is all netting behind home plate here at Dodger Stadium. So he reached up and actually caught it and then contacted the netting shortly after the catch. Just a great play. Hit well to left field and a diving catch by Davis Schneider. What a play by Schneider down the left field line, running it down, going all out onto the side warning track. He makes the play, slamming into the ground to end a scoreless bottom of the first. Nothing across for the Tigers. No score in this game after an inning. He clubs this one to deep left center field. Lawrence Butler on the run. He’s still going back. Slowing at the track. He leaps and he brought it back. Lawrence Butler brought the baseball back in his first start in center field in quite some time. He more than makes up for the production. Bringing the baseball back. Wow. Law Dog tracked this thing all the way and poor old Higgy fought the law and the law won. One- nothing Law Dog. Grall to shortstop. Jav go to town. Javz got his man. You could see it coming. That’s Hill backhand, slide, turn, and throw the ball real hard. Can’t teach that one, Jason. I mean, this is why this guy has been a very, very good baseball player for a lot of years in the MLB. He can do things on a baseball diamond no other human can. That’s a tremendous play by Jav. Goes into a slide. He’s well into the outfield grass. One hop on purpose to Torque. Carries him a little bit towards that outfield side. Torque uses the entire bag, the outer edge on the ground, diving at second base as Croner picks himself up and throws out Janto. You can hit it anywhere, but you can’t hit it to the ground zone. You know, Jake Croner, Jake’s my boy, diving to his left and the nice easy throw to arise for the four to three. Put a star in your score book if you’re scoring at home. Taking away a base knock. Two outs in the ninth and McNeel into center field. A base hit. Perkins throw to the plate on a hop. The tag. He is out. Ball game over. Blake Perkins loads up the rifle and finishes this game. The Mets will certainly want to look at this. What a throw. And what a way to end the ball game. And now everybody watches and waits. Look at this throw right here from Blake Perkins. Aggressively coming in on this blooper from McNeel. And a perfect tag by Conturus. Let’s see if he gets the hand in. No, he does not. He’s out. What a throw. Lance Barksdale will confirm it. That’s a great tag by Contras. Puts it right on the ribs of Marte. A thrilling way to end this game. Here we go. After review confirmed, runners out. That is the ball game. Lance Barksdale. Blake Perkins throws a 97 mph fast to home plate on a hop to end the game. And the Brewers are cooking seven straight wins. Woodruff now 4-0. He beats Singa Miguel with his 27 save and the Brewers just find a way to win in all kind of ways. How about a walk-off throw out at home plate? That was awesome. Take a look at this one more time. How about Blake Perkins? A good jump off the bat and a better throw right on the money. One hop and look at the fist bump from William Contrarus. Look how quickly he gets rid of that ball over the mound. Perfect one hop right to Contrarus to get Stling Marte at home. That is poetry. Smacks one in the air deep center field. Scott going back. Forget about it. It’s gone. Halfway up the pavilion, the Dodger pitcher launches a massive home run, his 39th this year. I was there when he pitched. He hit a home run and they gave away his championship rings the same day. He is the Beatles in one body. The crowd that he draws, the attention that he draws, fantastic. Could the Beatles pitch the 3-2 swinging a fly ball to the gap in left center field. That’s trouble. Mirling on the run by Green lays out and he made the catch. Incredible. Riley Green Verling both going for the ball. Riley Green never gave up on it. He makes a sensational diving backhanded grab. Wow. There’s nothing there other than sure will. That could have went bad in so many directions. Verling and Riley coming in on the same ball. Both coming in hot. Never gave up on it. Secured it. Verling’s like, “You caught it.” He’s like, “Yes, I did.” I couldn’t believe it. What a play. This offense has been struggling and it’s nice to see the slug off of Seiya’s bat. Well, it doesn’t come at a lack of effort. Meaning these guys, they have been putting in a lot of the work. So, when they have been performing has nothing to do with them not putting in the work. So, take this as an example. This was before his last at bat. Seo was on the iPad. And then you just see he’s visualizing trying to get his timing down. I mean, just all those little moments they can add up throughout a game. And it certainly paid off there. Yeah. Three balls hit over 100 miles an hour today for Seiya Suzuki. And right there he’s playing Tetris. He’s watching the highlight going dig me doing Wordle. Yeah, his first Wordle gets was homer swing and a miss and Kitridge gets Hayes with that slider. One of the beautiful things about being a relief pitcher, you don’t have to wait long to get back out there after a rough one. Andrew that was victimized by the three-run home run from Steer yesterday, the big blow in the game. This is his fourth appearance with the Cubs. The first two were were clean. Three up, three down. He actually threw the ball well yesterday. Made a couple mistakes. He He’ll take the ball, man. He’s He’s a gamer big time. Lock for two. Cubs lead it two zip. Oh, well done there by Carson Kelly presenting that last pitch. That’s a money maker right there. Sinker right on the edge. Excellent. But not to the knees. What are you going to do with that Gavin Lux? Nothing. Swing and a miss. Struck him out. Kitridge. Backto back strikeouts. And there’s two away. Great sequencing the sinker and then comes back with that tight slider under the barrel. Here’s Stevenson and that one in for a strike. So Kitri has come in and he’s just pouring it over. Swing and a miss. JD’s a pitch from an immaculate inning. Do it. Strike the ball. Slider. Swing and miss. Pitridge listening in. He says yes. Takes a deep breath. Stevenson taps the plate. Here we go. The O2 struck him out. He strikes out the side. Kitridge bounces back from last night. Outstanding work. The immaculate inning. There’s the one two now to Langalers in the air towards right center field going back and Shay Langalers with a lead off home run. One to nothing A’s. And I say he looks pretty good at the top of the order. Banging it early. And that’s why I love to see Shay Langalers come up and be aggressive early in the count. Says, “Look, I’m in the leadoff spot. Let’s get this thing leadoff ready.” And his approach was just that, lead off ready. You see some pitches early you like. You work your way through the at bat, find yourself a little deeper in the count, and then bam to Shay. Here’s the payoff pitch and to left field. This one is going to stay fair and gone. Shay Langalers with a multi-H homer day. Number 21 on the season and he gives the A’s 10 runs and a nine run lead. Well, I think Mark Cay has cracked the lead off code. This one in the air from Shade to center field. Going back is Jacob Young. And another a three homer game for Shay Langalers. And we’re not even in Texas. That’s where those typically happen. What an incredible display at the top of the lineup for Shay Bangaliers. That is three times tonight. Man, oh man. Uh-oh. That ball is deep. Proar and the wall. He brought it back. That was super human. Watch how high he gets up over the wall. And not just up, but deep. for Jurgen Proofar. And there is that milliondoll smile after the fact. He timed it perfectly and takes one away. Wald can’t believe it. Well, he certainly hit it high and far, but not far enough to get out of the reach of Jurgen Profar. That was cool. That was awesome. It’s probably going to be the center fielder that goes behind. Now, if it’s more to the center field side side, excuse me, the center fielder can go after it. It’s a tough one here, but Garcia coming in. Did he stay with it? He did. What a catch. A little juggling act with it. How did he keep that from hitting the turn? No. Maybe they’re going to take another look at it. We’ll see. I know we are. But he but he almost he just stuck the glove out at the last second. We see it bounce out. I don’t know how he he was able to get that bare hand on the play. Now here’s another look at it. Puts the glove down. It even hits off of his body. Oh man. And he keeps cool and calm enough to where he’s got that death grip that he’s able to put on the baseball to secure out number two here. Oh, that is just ridiculous. Oh, Bombi with another five-star catch out there. This is not something that you see every day. I said off his body. I think that was off of his chin or maybe the bill fully experience at least for half the game. Two balls, two strikes up the middle. N’s got it. Steps on second, throw to first. It’s a triple play. Wow. A pitcher’s best friend. Shi it’s into a triple play to win the inning. Well, what a moment here at Angel Stadium in the freeway series with Show Otani right in the middle of it. A man who’s always involved in history. Lines into a triple play in a tie game here in the sixth inning of the Big A. Well, we say when show comes to the plate, you’re always going to expect something unbelievable. Well, here’s your unbelievable line drive. Nettle all in one motion triple play. I guarantee you had that your own bingo card, didn’t you, Wayne? Especially with Show up. It was unbelievable. You see rushing kind of slipped on the back there and went down. I think he’s okay. I think he’s back in there behind the plate. It’s only the eighth triple play in the history of the Angels. A rookie, a homegrown rookie right here from Burlington, Ontario, going to face Max Scherzer for his first big league in battle. A young man who has represented Canada on a number of levels. Played at the WBC. We know that mom and dad, this is family here. We know mom, dad, his sister, and girlfriend are here. We know some uncles and aunts are here as well. But again, this all came together less than 24 hours, probably after the conclusion of the game last night. So maybe more like 16 or 18 hours ago. and he’s swinging at the first pitch. Hits it to left center and he’s robbed. Absolutely robbed by Davis Schneider. My oh my, what a play. Davis took kind of a shallow route to that ball. I think he got surprised how well it carried and then he had to leave his feet with his back turned to the infield. full extension and he takes a hit away from Owen Casey in his first big league at bat. I mean, he smokes this ball to the Allen. You see how Snider has to give ground and what an effort. I mean, that’s as good as it gets out there in the outfield. That looked even better in slow-mo. Oh my, what a play. Oh, are you kidding me? Davis Schneider into the gap to take one away from Casey. One of his best defensive plays of his career. Two outs. The Sports Net TV broadcast just showed Owen Casey’s family like, “You have got to be kidding me. How dare you take a hit away from our boy. What a play from Davis Schneider out in left field. Holy cow.” Angling to the left and back toward the fence. He dove diagonally onto the turf full stretch to make the play. So over to third went Durban. In a three-3 game, he represents the go-ahad run. And Andrew Monisterio is going to pinch it. Fly ball deep left. Monasterio. And they’re here. What else is new for the Milwaukee Brewers? Someone new stepping up night in and night out. You’ve got to be kidding me. Ambush first pitch. Via Dios three-run shot for Monasterio. Unbelievable. The winning run is in scoring position. And there’s a swing and that one will win it. Jack Peterson makes the Rangers a winner in the bottom of the ninth inning. And they take game one from Cleveland. Four to three the final. What a quick comeback. Boy, that one will give you whiplap. They didn’t wait around. They saw a pitch they liked and you got to love it for these Rangers. And the 2-1 hit to the hole. Story falling and got him. Outstanding effort by Trevor Story. My goodness. One down in the second. I mean, just a shorts stop on shortstop crime right here. This ball’s hit hard in the six hole. He doesn’t even think twice about it. Soon as this ball’s hit, he knows he’s going to the jump throw. Hits the webbing. One step jump throw on the money. My goodness. Set this place on fire. Trevor Story. See it half. Drives that one. This hit pretty well. Center fielder Teosio. My goodness. He made the catch. Toddosio robbery at the big A. Just completely under control. Back to the wall. I mean, he’s going a long way too. He’s playing fairly shallow. Time to leap and brings it back. This kid could play some center field. There’s some serious talent in center field here tonight at the Big A. Brewers are playing short in that pen as Steer hits one hard off the glove of Durban. Throw to first base is going to be in time. Boy, Caleb Durban sticking with that play and throws out Steer. Back hand rolls up his arm, looks up, found it. Where’s it at? Right there. It’s in my hand. It ate up Durban. The ball climbed up his glove. He found it as it was falling. Look what I found. And he one hopped it across. And a great stretch by Vaughn. And Brewers defense continues to just be ridiculous. And that one right back where it came from. Knocked down at short and the throw to first is just in time. What a play. Mason Win handles a rocket up the middle and G him out on a bang bang play. Well, the arm of Mason Win shows up again. This one narrowly misses. Miles Michael knocked down. Thought it was a surefire hit, but the arm of Mason Win who is well on his way to winning a gold glove is the difference. Most outs above average of any position player that’s owned by the Cardinal shortstop out to center. Michael charging. He got it. What a catch. What a comeback. This is that tough one cuz you got a power hitter a full swing like that and the ball kind of comes spinning off the side and yeah, he’s just able to make up so much ground. He’s got such great closing speed. Michael Harris ends the game with a sliding catch in center field and the Braves complete the comeback to even this series with the White Socks 11- 10 with highlights galore. Well, there’s some more comeback in this Brewers team. They’ve been doing it all month. Contrarus at the plate now. Oh, Contras. Highf fly ball deep left field. Did he get it? Yes, he did. It’s a walk-off home run. William Contraras goes wild. Bill and sends us home. What a finish. Two outs. Bottom of the ninth. First ever walk-off home run. 81 wins. Best record in the majors. Seven straight home wins. And you can’t do it any better than that partner. And these guys, I’ll tell you what, they find different ways to win every single night. A different player. First pitch slider. And Contras knocks it out of here. Logan Webb’s pitch to Yandi Diaz is driven out towards right center field and deep chasing after a Jung Hu Lee and he’ll go all the way out into far right center field and make the catch. He went down into a slide to catch it and gets up kind of slowly. I don’t know if he jammed his knee into the dirt. Jung Hu, you know, watching it, he ended up losing the ball. Why he got up slowly is the ball came out of his glove and he he pinched it in between his legs. Did that Did that end up between his legs? And I think he caught it between the knees. He did between the knees. I don’t care what anybody says. That’s the catch of the decade. Not of the year, not of the day, not of the week, not of the home stand, the decade. High drive right field. Back goes Fernando at the wall. He leaps in, makes the catch. Onando up into the air, makes the catch at the wall. That’s platinum right there, folks. Picture perfect. Snatch it back. That’s big league. And that’s a big league. Hang with him for devers. Fernando Tatis over the right field wall. did it a couple of years ago out there in almost the exact same spot and one of the great home run robberies you will see this season. What a play. It does not get much better than that. Got to the wall, timed the jump, and had to go up pretty high to bring back this home run. Terrific play. This is why he’s a Platinum Award winner. This one hit deep to right field. Sanchez back. Sanchez at the wall, leaping, makes the catch. Jesus Sanchez up and over the wall and robs Gunnar Henderson of a grand slam. It’s a sacrifice fly. What a play by Sanche out there getting back to that wall and plenty of time to be able to leap up and take away the grand slam and turn that long fly ball into a sacrifice fly. What a great play. driven toward right center. Church on the run. What a catch. Sensational catch by the rookie. Church got to the track. I thought he was going to have to play that one off the wall. He didn’t give up on it and turned in the play. Told you this guy was a good outfielder. Wow. The center fielder for St. Louis on a dead sprint got to that ball on the track in right center and made a heck of a grab. Tapper to Green behind the back. Fired to second. Mlean to first. Double play. Wow. Ridiculous. That was ridiculous. He was a shortstop in high school. 15 miles from here. Wake up the Echo. The shortstop is back. Oh my goodness. Not only the presence of mind to get the ball behind the back as he was falling to the first base side, but how about this throw right at the throat of the second baseman, Matt Mlan. A perfect feed and a perfect turn of the double play. Hayes bounces one to short. Bets pucks it, guns it. What a play, Mooky Bats. He got him. Some wizardry at shortstop by Mookie Betts. Oh, what a moment for Mooki defensively. That play unreal. Dodger defense tonight. It has been otherworldly. Tyler Lleier at the plate on the first pitch. Fly ball to center deep. Perkins running out of room and Perkins makes the catch. Takes a home run back. Blake Perkins puts another one in the highlight reels. That would have been out. No doubt about that. Lace to center. PCA ranges in into a dive and he makes the catch. Pero Armstrong. We are not worthy. What a play. One away. Another spectacular play. Yes, he will be the gold glover. Maybe the platinum glover. I mean, it’s fun to watch him hit home runs and run the bases. It is a pleasure to watch him play center field. Holds. House gloves it. Hops to his feet. Brownite on the money. What a play by Brady House. Little reaction spot right here. Hammers the ball, but you could play deep if you got a great arm. Show it up Brady. Woo! What a spectacular play by Brady House to his right to take an extra base hit away from Camro with a dive. He got up. He was straddling the foul line and his one out throw across to Bell who took it on the back hand. Line drive left center field. Hap is out there. Oh, what a play. Ian Hap the gold glover lays out and steals extra bases from Wilmer Flores. Gorgeous play. Ian Hap angling out to left center. dove landed on the track and speared that ball. Beautiful catch by Ian Hap and the inning comes to an end. This is in the air to deep center. Varo racing back. He’s got it. What a play by Varo. Crashing into the wall in deep center for out number three. And making another incredible grab is Dalton Varo. This dude gets to everything. He records the third out of the inning. He gets up and dusts himself off. Seems no worse for the wear and he just saved Eric Lowour right there. Chopped towards the hole. Adamus a long throw and a dig out and they got him. Unbelievable. And Orner runs really well. Lily Adam Thomas makes a spectacular play the only way that he could. He goes off his right foot up in the air and a one hop dug out nicely by Devers just to get enough on the throw to get her as you pointed out is a very good runner. 3-2 runner goes and the pitch is hit into shallow center field sinking fast. Derek Hill dives and he made the catch. That’s the second time this season that Derek Hill has gone full-blown extension. Derek Hill. This guy covers so much ground on a dead sprint. He dove head first straight in in right center field and he takes a knock away from Cedric Mullins. Runner takes off. That one grounded. Diving play by Swanson. Seat of his pants and he throws out de. Wow, that is a heck of a play. Yeah, put a big exclamation point on that one. Danby B Swanson. Dansby Swanson just made a magnificent play. He was running over to cover second on the possible stolen base. Made a great stop and then did a reverse pivot while seated. An amazing play by Dansby Swanson. This one hit hard to the gap. Robert Jr. Oh my, another diving catch by Robert Jr. Nobody does it better in center field and La Ponta. Well, that was a great run. Once again, an outstanding break. It’s not only the speed, it’s first step acceleration which helps you both in base stealing and in catching everything in the outfield. And that one was just an outstanding effort. And guess who’s coming up again? Cal Raleigh because of the hit by Randy. Cal last up left field. There it goes. Cal Raleigh. His 49th home run. Storybook season by Cal Raleigh. He has done it. The most home runs all time in a single season by a major league catcher. Once in a lifetime kind of stuff from Cal Raleigh. Cal with two home runs yesterday to tie and break the record. Getting ready to hit number 50. Fly ball driven way back there. Left field take cover. Number 50. Midway up the second deck. History marches on. For the first time ever, a catcher has hit 50 home runs in a season. It has never been done until right now. Until Cal Raleigh. Well, the crowd is excited right now because Schwarber is on four home run watch. He’s got three already tonight. That one’s drilled deep to right field. He has done it. Four home runs in a game. A threerun home run. It’s his fourth home run of the night as Kyle Schwarber becomes the first Philly since Michael Jack Schmidt to hit four homers in a game. It’s a threerun home run that gives him nine runs batted in tonight. the 21st player in modern major league history to hit four homers in a game. That was cool. Ground ball to first. Guerrero going to third and they got out. What a play by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. I have said this time and time again. There’s not a first baseman in baseball that throws better than Vladimir Guerrero Jr. I mean, he was thinking about that play before the ball was hit to him and he field it and threw a seed across the diamond. Albe was out by five feet into center field. Rochio goes to second. Isbel gets behind the fly ball. Rochio’s going for it. Quan tags right behind him and the Royals get it out at third base. Give Isbel another outfield assist. He was perfect on that. Rokio, he likes his speed, but ain’t one with him. His skipper is not replaying that. I love how he gets in back of the ball coming in. See how he’s getting something on the throw. Perfect. Kaw with a popup shallow left center. Neto’s on a long run going back. Juggles and he caught it. How did he do it? Zack N juggled it twice and he comes up with a circus catch. He is Mr. Chaos. Professor Chaos. Even on a popup going back on it, he makes the plays on popups. He juggled it three times. Yes. And if you’re watching at home, he will uh come to birthday parties. He is pure entertainment. To right center. Victor Scott on the run. Lays out, makes a diving catch. Well, Victor, watch that first step. He takes a gander at what how far he has to go. Well, this ball was hooked just a little bit at that T-Mobile sign. Goes out and sticks the landing. He has been excellent since he’s been back. That angle ankle injury put a cape on him. That was remarkable. Total layout and he takes the hit away from Cal Raleigh. Wow. Here’s the pitch. Basketball hit on the ground left side. Whit dives, grabs it on the grass to his feet. Throw to first in time to get him. Bobby Wit Jr. just saved a run and he keeps the Royals in front with another incredible diving play at shortstop. That ends the bottom of the fifth inning. And it ends the bottom of the fifth with an exclamation point. What a play by Bobby Wit Jr. with a diving stop and then a strong throw to retire the side. Here’s Julio Rodriguez first and second as he lines one to right center field. Teodosio ranging diving. He caught it. What a catch by Teodosio. That is incredible. I hope he’s okay. That is an unbelievable catch. Boy, that was a ball that he’s able to rob the batter Rodriguez of a hit right there. Great play by Bryce Teodosio. Boy, lays out for fantastic diving catch on this. When this left the bat, you thought it was going to get down for sure. High drive deep left field. Lauriano going back at the wall. He leaps at the wall. Makes the catch. Raman Lauraniano says no. Time the link and brings it back. Elandido numero 2. Looks over to Fernando and says, “Anything you can do, I can do better.” Laurato all the way up over the wall and left to take away a potential gamety homer from Key Brian Hayes. He hits his eye in the air out to center field again taking Helman back near the wall. Leaps up and makes the catch. Rod up over the line brings one back and even he looked a little surprised. This is the series of Michael Helman to this point. And you see the good jump right off the bat. He goes back hard, leaps up the fence and hauls it in. Pretty special play that’s going out if he doesn’t grab that one. Just another routine out. Nacho Alvarez diving stop one. What a play. Nacho average first base. Third baseman over there. I tell you what, the play that he made defensively to stop this baseball was really good. But this throw was something special. Dazzling defensive gem by Nacho Alvarez. He was about 10 feet back with the bag. Dove to his right. Had just enough time to get on his right knee towards the hole. Chapman and they got him. An incredible play of extension there from Chapman with his arm. He never bet against it. Wow. What a play. Dom went into the stretch and he’s slow to get up from the ground. What an effort by Chapman. My goodness. Still in the ball game here in this bottom of the sixth inning. High in the air to left field. It is Robertson near the foul pole. Jumping up. Oh, what a catch. Unbelievable grab. Will Robertson. You are going to see that on every highlight show tonight. With the wind blowing out, Robertson was able to get to the wall, measure, and get his timing perfectly at the top of his jump. He holds it back. And what a play that is. Judge against Boston, 9 for 39, career at Fenway, 203 in 51 games. And Judge rips one out toward left center field. This one headed way back beyond the monster as Aaron Judge catapults the Yankees to a one- nothing lead. That’s a mistake. A four seam fast right over the heart of the plate. That’s a pretty swing. His 47th home run this year. He has 101 RBI’s. That breaks the tie with Joe Masio. He’s in fourth place all time on the Yankee franchise home run list. Bay now deep right center field and oh Julio one of his all-time greats. What can’t Julio do? He spirals into the wall. Julio does it again. Flashes the nofly zone. Throws the ball into the stands. It is celebration in center field as Julio does it one more time. Bailey is going to hit. So now you got to force at every base. High drive left field and we are going home. Well Mike, I don’t know what to tell you. Friday night crowd 40,000 plus and we just saw a dandy and it was Patrick Bailey who’s been swinging it well. He’s had a walk-off inside the park home run and now he’s got a walk-off grand slam. Unbelievable. Highf fly ball right center field deep. Sidon racing back to the wall. He leaps up. Tried to make the play. Did he hurt himself? Caught it. He caught the ball. Oh, he caught it. Wow. Oh my goodness. He caught that. Unbelievable. He came down on his knees. He stole that thing from Carol. Did he make the play? He caught it. Are you kidding me? Sadon went to his knees as if to say it was gone. That’s one of the great catches you’ll ever see. I mean that is Spiderman from Son Bregman who drives one high and deep into left field onto the warning track and it is caught I think out in left. Did he take it away? He did. Wow. Alexander says Son Raphael I got you right back. Got it. Oh, he’s a natural. He’s an absolute beauty. Boy, we have seen two of the better catches by a major league outfielder in this game. Oh my. Takes it the other way and deep back goes Fernando at the wall. He looks Fernando did it again. He did it again. I Fern Nando. That is jawdropping. Actually put his foot in the wall to kind of give him some support and takes a two-run homer away. Ladies and gentlemen, you have yourself a platinum glove winner there. Putting it on full display. Here’s the pitch and it’s a ground ball. Should be two. Altuve has it. Falls down. Shuffles it to second out over the first out. A double play and a gun from Jeremy Pñena. Altuve was on his stomach. Altuveet down the ground. Flipped it over to Pñena from his stomach and Pena turns two. Ball maybe hit a little bit harder than Altuve thought. One step to his right and fall on it and is able to slide that thing over to Jeremy Payne who somehow picks it and still makes the play on Jonah. Swinging a ground ball up the middle way to his left. Diving stop is Crawford pops the ball. The rebos. He’s thrown to first and it’s in time to Rob Garcia. Holy smokes. What a play by JP Crawford. Diving to his left. doubles the ball out of his glove to Revas behind the bag at second. Leo fires to Naylor in time. That was an incredible play. What a gem turned in. They drew that up in the sand lot and it’s out number one. Crawford to Rivas to Naylor. One away. And now Salvi who is one home run away from 300 and one RBI away from 1,000. deep into left center field and gone. Salvador Perez. Home run number 300, RBI number 1,000. Let’s hope the captain gets that ball back. I saw him pointing out there. He’s probably saying, “Hey, that’s a souvenir right there.” What a beautiful shot. Stay hot. In the air. Coming in is Lawrence Butler. Going out is Jacob Wilson and the short stop. What a catch. I mean, he’s a wizard with the wand. Not too bad out there with the leather either. Jacob Wilson immediately turns the back. You start to track this thing over your shoulder. And the fact that you watch him start to reroute a little bit and make the adjustment. I think at times what you see is a fielder kind of maintain their path and they end up throwing the glove over to the side almost waving at the ball cuz they see it over there. Oh, nice play by Chisum. Throw to first. Got him. A sparkle by the Yankee. Second baseman. He took a base hit away from Lee. Can you say that was acrobatic? That was acrobatic. Wow. Well, now we know Jazz can do a cartwheel cuz we just saw it on this throw. And Lee hits this ball up the middle. Jazz does a good job of getting up quick. I mean, I I think I’ve seen some of those moves in gymnastics in the Olympics. as Robertson drives one to deep left. This is trouble. Quant back. He leaps up and makes an incredible catch against the wall. Oh, just give him the gold glove right now. Well, that’s how you win three straight gold gloves in left. Another sensational play by Steven Quan. And Cleveland’s defense has been spectacular here in the first two innings. Scoreless in the middle of inning number two. Otani to lead off the eight. Otani 0 for two with two strikeouts in his career against Robertson. Highf fly ball to deep right field. Five no hit innings on the mound and a skyscraping home run. There’s nobody like him. Never has been. Doubtful there ever will be. It is his 50th of the year. back-to back 50 home run seasons to begin his time with the Dodgers. Just sit back, show, and watch this beauty. Home run number 50. Cal Raleigh batting against Michael Walka here in the third. Here comes the pitch. Fly ball right field foul pole. It is fair and gone. Number 55 Cal Raleigh. Move over Mick. Cal Raleigh is the new switchhitting home run king. A player and a season baseball has never seen before. Cal Raleigh crown him. Number 55 for Cal. Already the all-time single season home run catcher king. And now the most ever in a single season for a switch hitter. He surpasses Mickey Mantel. The legendary march through history for Cal Raleigh in a season we will never ever forget. Blasted center field and oh it disappears. He has homered on backto back pitches seen tonight. It may never stop the year of Cal Raleigh. He has now tied Ken Griffy Jr. for the most home runs by a Mariner in a season. A cannon shot to center field. Home run Cal Raleigh. He has tied Ken Griffy Jr. for the most in Seattle Mariners’s history. I feel like my name shouldn’t be in the same sentence with those guys, you know, Mickey Manel and Ken Griffy Jr. I don’t really have words for it. I don’t uh don’t really know what to say. I’m sure one day it’ll kind of uh set in and but for now, you know, just just keep it keep it going. Start getting Mitchell Parker warmed up out in bullpen. Some depth to this one. Jacob Young. He had it and he dropped. He got it on the fly. He caught it. The umpires have already called him out. The hitter that is. What a recovery by Jacob Young. He banged into the fence. He had it. It popped in the air. I don’t know what part of his body he hit. It hit and then he caught it on the carum. What a play by Young. Did that go off his foot? Off his foot. Yeah, he kicked it. He kicked it up in the air. That was a circus catch by Jacob Young. Unbelievable. 2-1. Driven to center. Jacob Young. He got it again right at the orange line. And it stays 32 on another gem by our center fielder. I mean, this might be the catch of the year. Now, where he jumps halfway onto the warning track, he leaves his feet and goes back on this. The no doubles defense helps out and oh yeah, he took that one away. Wow. Ball gapped right center field and Victor. Double him up. Double him up at second. Victor Rob makes the catch and that is the ball game. Nothing bigger than that play right there to finish his game. Victor Robé strap a cape on that man. The two-2 fly ball deep right. Jackson back on the track at the wall. See youa a threerun home run over the high scoreboard and the Yankees are on the board three nothing. John Carlos Stanton his 21st home run and that’s career home run number 450. So that moves him out of the tie with Bagwell and Guerrero. Next up will be Carl Striky. Some big names on that list. 450. Nice round number for Jean Carlos. Out of the stretch 3-1. Trout swings in. That one’s going to go. He did it. He did it. Number 400 for Mike Trout. Another entry on the already complete Hall of Fame resume for one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. You can see the emotion for Mike Trout number 400. And that was vintage Mike Trout. 815 mph exit velocity going for 85. You could feel the exhale. Driven deep to right center field going back. Taylor track wall. See youa. Flight 50 is landed. 50 home runs or more for the fourth season of his career. Aaron Judge with a three-run home run. Yankees lead. That’s a big home run for Aaron Judge. I I’m sure within his mind that you know he was thinking I need to get to 50. And you know it’s such a magical number. Boy, a big big 50th home run. 40,000 chanting MVP. Fly ball to right field. Number 60. A catcher has hit 60 home runs. Your MVP moment. Cal Ramy. He might have just won it with that one swing. You said it early in this game, if he gets to 6, that illustrious 60. Very few have reached that milestone. They punched his ticket to that MVP. Baseball has never seen a catcher before like Cal Raleigh. He is one of one. This has been one of the greatest nights in this ballpark’s history. In 10 years, there’s going to be a 100,000 people saying they were here tonight. Absolutely. Three outs away from punching the ticket for winning the West and Cal Raleigh 60 home runs. And the pitch fly ball to center deep. Cheerio back at the track at the wall. He jumps up and he made the catch. Jackson Cheerio tracked it all the way. Jack up above the wall. He robbed a home run. Three and0 to Reynolds. He swings highf fly right field. Marte all the way back. Leaps at the wall. He caught it. He takes away a game tie home run. The biggest play from Mart in the outfield. He saves the day. I saw him after he caught the ball running to TJ Fredo. Like, well, does he have it? Does he not? That is an outstanding play. Getting to the wall, scaling and extending. Outstanding. Deals on the 01. Swing and a liner into shallow left. Bayz. Jav Bayz. Are you kidding me? A leaping Superman dive in shallow left. is back to the infield and Ajavi reeled it in. That’s unbelievable. Partner saved the run, got the Tigers out of the inning. I’m telling you right now, Tigers win this ball game. That’s going to be an inflection point. What a play by Jav. Put a star on your scorecard for that one. Jav Bayz saving the day. There’s a high drive left center field. It is gone. A drive and 55. Show Otani continues to rewrite the record books. He breaks his own franchise record for home runs in a single season. The box score says four nothing Dodgers. Bottom of the six in Seattle. The line score for Clayton Kershaw. Five innings, no runs, six Ks. 3-2. Swing on and miss. Strike three. Struck him out with a slider. Seven strikeouts and what a day for Kershaw. Yep. And now, and here it comes. Freddy Freeman is coming out of the dugout and he is going to take Kershaw out of the game. Freddy’s clapping. People realizing what’s happening. There’s a hug on the mound right now between Freeman and Kershaw. Folks all over this ballpark on their feet. Not a soul is sitting as Kershaw gets hugs from all of his teammates individually. And another one for Freeman as Freeman was given the honor today of taking out Clayton Kershaw. Listen to him here in Seattle. Kershaw doing his cap. He’s taking his right hand, putting it to his heart, blowing a kiss to his family. He meets Dave Roberts on the warning track. They hug. Well, an emotional moment for Kershaw, the Kershaw family, and the Dodger family as Clayton Kershaw has left his final regular season start after striking out seven men. Now, the infield is in. Dingler has struggled today. broken bat toward the second baseman and a diving catch by Rokio. Give the star next to that catch right there and give another star at third base. If they’re not playing up, that’s a ball that gets through or at least gets a run in. What a dive full extension. Rokio understands the severity. What a great play. Shadow and Bogarts, the runners on one, two, this ball fisted to shallow center. Swanson makes the catch and throws a lob and plenty of time to the plate to hold Machado. Dansby Swanson robs Rhino Hearn for a second time with a runner at third. Watch the drop step to create the angle to be able to get this. Look like an outfielder. A lot of infielders can’t make this drop step to catch the ball. It’s one- nothing game. Padres’s lead the Cubs game one best of three in the wild card. Driving up center field. Suzuki. He rips it through the wriggly wind into the brilliant sunshine and Suzuki ties the score in game one of the wildard series. Swung on ground ball near the middle on through base hit center field. One run is in. They’re going to wave Dingler around. The throw goes to third. Safe at third base is McKinstry as Dingler crossed home plate and the Tigers take a two to one lead. Very close play at third and the Guardians want a challenge. He may be looking at a couple of different things here. The play at third if McKinstry’s out and the calls reversed there. Did Dingler cross home plate before the out? Cleveland is challenging the safe call at third base. So, they’re going to start with that, the safe call at third. I think if he’s out at third, it is really close as to whether Dingler made it. And Dingler looked back after he crossed home plate. Okay. As if he might have thought maybe I didn’t get there before that play at third. So, we’ll see. The call on the field is overturned. The runner is out of third base. Also, the second run does not count. Wow. Well hit ball to right way back and go. Ryan Rosio has given Cleveland the lead with the shadow. Sunball and then it’s in there. Boom. Fast ball. Just tucked his hands in so perfect and the noise right off the bat. You knew it had a chance. The wind wasn’t holding that up again. Fast ball. center cut right down the plate. The two- two pitch hit in the air and right back by the wall. Perez and it was gone. What has gotten into these Cleveland Guardians by Miller a three-run homer six. We’ve been talking about shadows. I don’t think they care about them. They’re unleashing here in the eighth inning. Swing and a highf fly ball hit in the air out towards left center field. That’s well struck. Back is Kik Hernandez to haul it in. What a catch by Kik onto the track and he’s able to bring it down. Wow. The O2 swing and a ground ball towards the right side. Mlan picks it up, gets it to Latell who gets over and a big play right there as the pitcher covers. Mlan with a nice play. Bets down to second and there’s two away. But some nice defense there. He swings and hits it hard to right and Ben Rice is back and the Yankees are on the board. A two-run home run off BO to get it started. The kid from Cohasset, Massachusetts steps on home and lives out a dream. The team he rooted for as a kid, the Yankees. And it’s two nothing with two outs. Bregman Schis fires to Fulpy to first. Nice double play by the Yankees to end the threat that the Red Sox were putting on. 463 athletically and acrobatically turned by Jazz Chisum. That one is on the ground. Soggard smothers. He goes to Story who has to leapfrog over McMahon and they get one. A couple of former Colorado Rockies come together at second base. Well, we’re seeing some really good defense at second base already early in the game. Talked about Chisum Sogar. Not bad at all right there. Excellent feed into the sixth inning behind two and Story Swing and a drive left field. Bellinger back gone. Trevor’s storybook season continues with a game tying solo shot. And just like that, it’s 3-3. Oh, he didn’t miss that. The Yankees have done their damage tonight. Both their rallies started with two outs. Seventh pitch of the at bat coming to Austin Wells. A bang bang play and a great throw from Eaton. Ball right on the corner. Nothing you can do if you’re eaten. We talk about the impact of Jazz Chisum and how he changes the dynamic of this lineup. We saw it with the defense and now appreciate the base running. The aggressiveness, the slide to the outside part of the plate gives the Yankees some hope going into the top of the ninth. Gabriel Arias, Josh Naylor among others. Here’s a well- hit ball to left by Dingler way back at the wall and it is gone. Dylan Tingler, who grew up just down the road in Masslin, Ohio. As an Indians and Guardian fan, he has given the team from Michigan a two to one lead. And Duran pops it up, giving chase and making the catch and flipping into the Red Sox dugout. What a catch by McMahon. Schlitler, the first one over there to congratulate him. Ryan McMahon Airborne. Well, he’s known for his elite defense. And it’s not just ground balls. They know what’s at stake. Wow, what a play. He went full speed into the third base dugout and flipped over the rail and made the catch. It’s their night. Schlitler right there to con congratulate him and and Ryan McMahon brought it at exactly the right time. Evidently, he just flipped the ball to somebody right there. And Bellinger’s big smile on his face. We talked about the elite defense of Ryan McMahon. He never stopped. Went out, went over, flipped over and he popped out of the dugout, greeted by Wells. What a great sight that was. Broken bat, diving catch by Vlad Jr. Vlad’s put a stamp all over this game through two innings. You think Vlad, you think offense, you think home runs, but you think this? Wow, what a start for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Fans are wild for him again. And at the middle of the second, still one- nothing Blue Jays. Digs this one out down the line. Lucas makes the play. And the Blue Jays are taking all the things that made them a 94 win team and putting them on display here in the first game of the postseason. You just wonder if the Yankees can get something to drop if it changes that momentum for him. But right now, everything is clicking for that guy and his team. Hernandez, a highf fly ball deep into right center. Got some barrel on that one. It’s got some carry and it is gone. Teasca Hernandez a threerun home run in the seventh inning. He has flipped the scoreboard. Five to3 Dodgers. Stro had almost escaped the jam. One fast ball and shoots it to right center. Here’s McKinstre. And there is a base hit with a man aboard. Sneaks it through the middle. Torlson will score. And right on Q, the Tigers take the lead. McKinstry delivers in the 11th. All that you just said, Adam, goes away with one swing of the bat. Vlad Jr. five for six in this division series. His last eight games against the Yankees, he’s sitting above 600. And the baby goodbye Jr. strikes again. The New York Yankees scoring the 19-1 over the first game and a half. Man, when it when he hits and he’s on time, it is pretty to watch. Pitch yourself all you want. You will not wake up from this dream right now. The Blue Jays lead 9 nothing on a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Grand slam. Scooles 3-2. Here it is. Swung on. Blasted left field. This is going to go. He’s done it again. It is gone. Jorge Palono. His second of the game into Eders. This place erupts and the Mariners lead two to nothing. Unbelievable. Lightning strikes twice. And Bow on the ground. Rojos a race to the bag. He dives and out at third. There will be no challenge. And Snell gets out of the six inning jam thanks to a gutsy play from Miguel Rojos at third. No score in game two, which is now going to the seventh inning. Another payoff and it’s a highf fly ball to left field. Hap underneath it in front of the wall. This ball’s gone. Andrew Vaughn ties the game with one swing. He’s done it again. This ballpark has always been a good hitter’s ballpark and it had enough. Diving stop by Cababayro. I mean, that wasn’t 114 ft, but that was full sprint in and he had to check his environment, making sure and seeing how close he was to the dugout. What an athletic play. Dodger starters have been a major story. Uh-oh. Schwarber going to send one way out of here. How far will it fly? My goodness. Kyle Schwarber with a tape measure shot up on top of the pavilion and right. That is one of the biggest bombs you will ever see. Heart rates through the roof. The 01 pitch. Pah grounds it back to Kirky. He can’t find it. He throws home. It’s wide. Kim scores and the Dodgers are going to the championship series. Fireworks go off in center field. A belly flop dive by Naylor on top of the chalk. He puts the glove on it and flips to Bazardo covering to get the out as Bazardo goes over and helps his teammate off of the chalk line which is now smeared as Naylor went sprawling for it. And he takes a Qot hit away from George Springer for the first out of the bottom of the fifth. And Muny skies one to center field. Hit well. This one’s got a chance. Felic back to the wall. He leaps. It’s in and out of his glove, but he caught it. And now chaos on the bases might have a play at the plate. The throw not in time. No, he’s out. He’s out. It’s a force play at the plate. And he is out. All of this is going to be reviewed. It’s only a force play if he didn’t catch it. Catch it. I don’t think they know. It’s no catch. It hits the wall off his glove and now it’s a force play at home. Let’s see. And the throw beat him. out. So you’re going to have bases loaded and two outs. Three outs cuz ran to third. Barger has connected on a grand slam to break open game one and start this play shaking. Well, he hit a fly ball and he guaranteed his teammate was going to come up, but I didn’t see a situation where his teammate might come up with nobody on and that grand slam location is the most important thing. Oh, Tony. Oh, and a center cut fast ball and ties it. Shi five to five once in forever. Shi Otani he has tied game three with his second home run of the night and he’s tied Frank Isbel as the only guys in World Series history four extra base hits in one game. 40 career postseason appearances. And the Blue Jay fans making a ton of noise. And now Guerrero rips one to DLP and it’s gone. And two batters in, they are up two to nothing. My oh my, what a start for the Blue Jays here tonight. Bashette with a backhand. Quick trigger throw to first. You’d never know. He’s never played there in the big leagues. That was such an outstanding play. You know he’s got to be a little careful. And we talked about his knee. Running won’t be the big issue. It’s these kind of plays. You see the effort, you see the throw and a big out. John Schneider said, “I know he can do it.” And he knows firsthand from having managed him in double A back in 2018 when he played a little bit of second base. The Dodgers two outs from game seven. Jimenez floats one left field. Hernandez makes the catch. Back to second. Game seven tomorrow night. It’s a game ending double play. Kik Hernandez to Miguel Rojas. Edmond pulls one down the line and baby stop and catch by Glad Jr. He has used the World Series stage to show everybody that he’s more than a slugger. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. diving into foul territory. Toronto two outs away. Miguel Rojos drilled to left field and deep and gone. No way. Miguel Rojos. Dave Roberts played his gut. Rojos has given the Dodgers life. It’s gone and game seven is tied. Miguel Roas off the bench in game six. On the board in game seven. This crowd, well, we talked about it in another series. This has turned into a library here. Miguel Rojos, he took the two- two pitch, the slider upstairs, and he took the next pitch out of the ballpark. Voila to second. Rojos comes home in time. And it’s Miguel Rojos who ties it in the top of the ninth. Saves it in the bottom of the ninth. Two out. Miguel Rojas, who was completely out of the picture 48 hours ago, has changed this World Series dramatically twice. There was a brief stumble from Rojos at second base, but he recovered, planted, and threw home and Kina Falefa is deemed out.
