This was Inevitable…

This was inevitable. The New York Knicks will be making some serious changes to the team upcoming very soon as we have seen a pathway that has just not worked for the squad and also will lead to the Knicks adding one of the most exciting young players they have on their or in their organization right now. We’re going to dive into exactly what is going on with the team right now, why this is going to happen, and insider revealing the truth behind some of the Knicks trade plans going in to trade season that begins in just a couple of days. Now, guys, before we jump into everything though, if you are part of that percentage that’s not subscribed to Nick’s Digest, part of that 56%, make sure to go ahead and subscribe so you don’t miss a single New York Knicks update. We have videos coming out every single day on the Knicks, breaking down all the latest news, rumor reports, trades, injuries, literally anything to do with the Knicks. We will keep you updated here. so you know everything going on with the team, this is the place to be. But let’s jump into the video, guys. There is a lot to talk about on the Knicks right now. As we know, trade season is just around the corner for the Knicks, and the team is known to make some changes. Obviously, there has been interest in Dante D. Venenzo, who’s on my Nova Knicks shirt right now. There he is. And of course, we know a lot about that. And also that the Knicks have had interest in Jose Alvarado as well. There’s been a few different players who the Knicks have ultimately been interested in and a lot of talk about who gets moved off the Knicks. Which players will the Knicks ultimately look to trade and one player has emerged as the guy who we’re going to see get moved here? And that is Gershon Yabusle. Yabusle has struggled mightily with the Knicks ever since signing that mid-level exception deal with them. And he just hasn’t fit into this roster. Yabusle is best at being a back to the basket type of of power forward who can score well in the paint and grab some rebounds and then stretch the ball out a little bit. He is not being used correctly. This is not a team a fast-paced team like this does not fully benefit Yabule and it would be very very unsurprising if Yabule doesn’t get traded off of the Knicks. Now Stephan Bondi talked about this as well saying if I were listening to the Knicks most likely to be dealt or listening to the Knicks to most likely be dealt before the February trade deadline. The French native Yabusle is probably number one. It’s not that he’d bring back value, quite the opposite, in fact, actually, but rather because his situation in New York has gotten so off track more than anything else. Now, Yabusle in 10 minutes per game is putting up three points, two rebounds, shooting 40% from the field, and 29 a half% from three. The numbers have gotten a little bit better, but he’s fighting to get into into the rotation as he just hasn’t played well enough for this team to really continue to use him. Because of this, the Knicks will ultimately look to offload Yaboo and try to figure out something. It would probably cost a couple second round picks for them to get something via trade. And the trade that makes a lot of sense considering the money alliance is probably Jose Alvarado who’s putting up nine points, three rebounds, and three assists per game, shooting 37% from three and 44% from the field. I know it’s a lot of guards in the team, but Ian Begley has said before that if he had to guess on one position, the Knicks would go after. it is a backup point guard and Alvarado does make a ton of sense in this situation saying I think teams around the league are just keeping an eye down there to see who’s who New Orleans is going to make available what will they want for those players a New York product Jose Alvarado if they make him available the Knicks I’m sure will be one of those teams that are interested the Knicks will be among many teams that are interested in Alvarado if he is made available now that’s not that surprising I do expect the Knicks to have interest in Jose Alvarado I also expect the Knicks to have interest in a few different players as well. Dvenenzo is one of them and you can work out a trade where you move in a deal that involves Dante Dvenenzo because the Knicks are actually in a weird situation right now. We know they want Dante, but they actually can’t trade Mitch straight up for Dante, which has been a common floated point because Mitch makes more money than Denenzo. The Timberwolves are in the second apron, meaning they can’t take back more money than they get. The Knicks, they actually can’t take back more money as well. So, what has to happen is the Knicks have to ship Mitchell Robinson to a third team and then trade that Wizards pick that the that the uh that the Timberwolves like a lot so the Knicks can get Dante if they wanted to do the Mitchell Robinson pathway. There’s other pathways to go that involves the Knicks moving on from guys like Gershan Busle, Duce McBride and Pakome Dier in a deal that brings him back to Venzo. In that situation, the Knicks would ultimately have to add someone else to the team for very cheap, meaning a rookie. they would be able to do some other financial gymnastics because if they wait a little bit there is some more flexibility that they’ll get come the new year which will be helpful for them and they’ll probably wait those two weeks so they do get more flexibility before they were to make a move for DVO because then they’d be able to sign someone else they’d be ending up at 13 players right there and then they could sign one of the guys off the two-way or sign Dink Pate to a regular contract because the money would fit. Now Pate is an interesting person in this situation and we are going to get back to him in a second. But just looking at right now at the Knicks in regards to the trade season, the Knicks who can be or who will become trade eligible on December 15th are Gerson Abule Jordan Clarkson and Landry Shamid. I don’t expect Clarkson or Shamid to go anywhere assuming that Shamid is able to come back and be healthy. Everyone else will be available via trade except for Male Bridges who’s eligible on February 1st because him recently signing that extension. Now, on top of that, we look at the Knicks recently, how they played in the NBA Cup, and I mean, frankly, when we look at it, understandably, this looked like a Tomido game. The way the bench was barely used outside of Clarkson, who was used heavily, and Mitchell Robinson, who was used outside of that, we did see Yabu get seven minutes, but he didn’t really do anything with those times. And it just fully is something that we should expect for Yabu to not be on the Knicks for much longer. This was a failed experiment, and the Knicks are not going to stick to it. Meanwhile, Mohamed Diawara looks very good. And that makes it easier because the Knicks 12 have another backup power forward in Diwara. Diawara in two G-League games putting up 15.5 points, seven rebounds, four assists, shooting 63 or 65% from the field and also 33% from three. So, he’s playing really good basketball and the Knicks do really like Dawara. So, it would be very unsurprising for the Knicks ultimately to decide to move forwards with Dior playing a bigger role sooner rather than later just based off the fact that he is playing good basketball right now. On top of that, there is a trade that makes a ton of sense if the Knicks just want to use Yabule to get Alvarado. You just swap the two. They make virtually the same contract anyway. So, it would be easy to swap them. The Knicks, it would likely cost some second rounders because there is an extra year on Yabusle’s deal. And Yabis makes no sense for the Pelicans. So, they probably would have to do two second rounders right there. But, one of those second round picks, if we’re being honest, is very heavily protected anyway. So, it’s not something that we really have to worry about. And by heavily, I mean it’s 31 to 45 protected. So, if it’s it’s in the bottom 15 picks of the draft, the Pelicans get that pick. If not, they don’t. So, it’s one of those situations. I mean, the Knicks wouldn’t get any just goes back to Boston. But regardless, the Knicks find themselves in a situation where they would be moving on from Yabusle to bring in Alvarado, a guy who they really like, and gives him another floor general point guard who could handle the ball, especially considering with the Devanchenzo situation, there is a trade that have to there is a chance that trade Tyler Kolick for a cheaper contract. And there is that. Kick makes around $2.1 million and you could trade him for like a $1.2 million contract just free up a little bit more money. On top of that, Tosson Ama is someone who could also get signed to a actual contract, not just a two-way. Ama plays a small forward position, is 6’8, can play good defense, can hit a three at a modest rate, grabs rebounds. Well, he’s someone who I would not be surprised for the Knicks to sign off the two-way contract because if they signed a Wulma off of that, they would have another guy who could play a backup forwards spot. He’s barely played with the Knicks right now. Only appeared in four games and they’ve all been absolute garbage time minutes in the final minute of the game. Right now, he’s not getting minutes. However, in the world that the Knicks ultimately decide to move on from the Abulele, AM would likely be the favorite to get that roster spot. I mean, I wouldn’t be shocked if it was Trey Json, but I do expect that it would be a W. And that’s where you get Dink Pate to come into the game as well. And you hear the Dink Pate sirens right there. Dink Pate recently had a monster triple double putting up 37 points, 11 rebounds, 13 assists, and hitting five three-pointers. He’s looked absolutely excellent, and he is someone who the Knicks really, really like. The Knicks want to bring Dink Paid on and right now a team could swipe him away because he’s not on any real contract with the New York Knicks. He’s only on contract with the Westchester Knicks and an NBA team can swipe him off the Westchester Knicks. And if they were to cut him, he’d go back to the Westchester Knicks. But if they if he didn’t, then all of a sudden the Knicks would lose Dink paid for nothing. That would be a disastrous paid looks like a very good prospect for this team moving forwards. So I hope that does not happen. But guys, how do you feel about the likelihood about Yabusa getting traded? Is there any way that he can kind of save his season with the Knicks? He’s been good for the chemistry, good for the vibes and all that, but not good on the court. And the Knicks ultimately do want to get more on the court help. 1. Yes, move on from Yabusele. He is a player that needs to have the ball in hands to be really effective. And he needs more minutes to get into a groove usually.

Also I thought Brown already decided Kolek was the backup PG. What is Rose doing?

  2. Everyone Keeps saying Trade Robinson ! If the Knicks Trade Robinson I Feel it Would Be an Enormous Mistake! And I would Not Be Surprised if it Comes Back To Burn Them ! Maybe Even in the Play Offs! He is a Rare Talent that only Comes around Very Rarely ! He is a Super Elite Shot Blocker , Shot Changer , Defender, and Literally One of the Best Rebounders , especially on The Offensive Boards to give Second Chance Shots.
He Deserves an Extension and to Get Paid!
Look around The League its extremely Common for Big Men to be Injury Prone, because of their Size and Weight! If Handled Correctly He is a Difference Maker ! And Can Mean No just getting to the Play offs , but Making it Deep ! Maybe even the Difference Between a deep Run and a championship !

  3. They really don’t need another guard like Alvarado. I like Kolek’s potential. I would move Yabu or Mitch for a defensive wing like Ellis or Divo. Mitch is just not playing like himself and idk if this is the new normal now, but his free throw percentage is a huge liability not to mention his availability.

  4. Yabu is a friendly contract at 5.5mil. Straight swap for Jose works. I hope the keep Kolek. His a solid 3rd option at pg. Def want The Big Ragu back. Hes a legit 2-way player who fits immediately with Villonova crew.
