  1. Why???? And that’s it??? Not saying that Mears and Collins are all stars but they are major league players. The guy the Brewers got, just looking at his stats doesn’t look impressive.

But then I realize I need to step back and trust the process

  2. Hmm. Well based on what I know about this organization I can only assume Zerpa will be very good for us

  3. Fuck dude, I think we saw the writing on the wall with Collins but losing Mears hurts even more. I’ll never forget his outing in Game 3 in 2024.

  4. This makes absolutely no fucking sense! Collins was excellent for us this year and is still on a rookie deal. And we’re getting a bullpen arm that was less effective than mears in return? Bullshit.

  5. I think so many of you guys just overvalue our players. Issac Collins is like the 7th best outfielder on the roster and Nick Mears has only put in one good season. Both are nearing 30 and who knows if they could replicate.

    I’ll never question Matt Arnold

  6. Think people are over valuing Collin’s and Mears.

Feels like maybe a bit of an overpay but I pretty blindly trust this FO when it comes to acquiring pitchers.

  7. Bummed but if this guy can be better than Mears then it’s probably worth it. Garrett Mitchell likely taking back his spot and even though Collins had a good stretch, I’d say Mitchell is equal or better to Collins.

Firing from the hip here but I trust our front office.

  8. Executive of the year making moves and keyboard warriors acting like we got fleeced. I love the internet 🤣

  9. I really hope that means they think what Isaac was doing was an absolute fluke and unsustainable because he was one of the best hitters in baseball for a while

  10. Collins after 8/18 in the regular season:

    .187/.318/.297 .615 OPS

    Collins in the postseason:

    .000/.100/.000 .100 OPS

Mears after 5/19 in the regular season:

    4.85 ERA, 4.75 FIP

Mears outperformed his xERA by almost a full run on the season

  11. Man I loved Collins. This stings

I’ll probably get nostalgic about this team in like 6 years and order myself a Collins jersey

  12. Brewers post:

Introducing your newest Brewer..LHP Angel Zerpa!
    -FB velo of 96.5 MPH
    -63.7 GB% (99th percentile
-sinker + slider heavy approach vs. lefties
His velo + ability to generate groundballs could make him another great high leverage guy next year

  13. 99th percentile groundball rate for Zerpa. Selling high on Collins and Mears was a great move.

  14. Watched a bunch of Royals games this year (don’t ask). Putting this guy in the Brewers organization is going to be lights out.
