Insane ain’t it

  1. I agree with everything except “Allen’s fraudulent MVP”. Dude earned it just like Embiid earned his allegedly fraudulent MVP.

  2. Hurts is clutch. He can’t carry mediocre coaching. When there are issues everywhere it’s coaching.

  3. Yeah this Barry guy is also notorious for his awful takes lol. I agree Hurts get unfairly treated compared to his peers but some of these arguments are ridiculous

  4. “Highly productive” sheesh.

In his SB year Stafford threw like 5k yards and 40 Touchdowns. More than 2 seasons worth of Hurts production.

I like Hurts but yall are insane

  5. Everybody hates Philly that’s all there is to it, but idgaf what anybody says Stafford straight CARRIED that lions team the whole time he was there, (megatron also ) Stafford always balled the fuck out but you can only do so much with a garbage team. I refuse to hear any Stafford disrespect ever. I was so happy when he got a ring.

  6. You got a dumb asshole calling plays and he catches this shit.

Hurts had an awful last game, can’t deny it. The only silver lining to me was that the play calling seemed a lot better, and there were different looks (two back sets, yes please).

Maybe Hurts was rusty adjusting to a new slate of plays, idk.

But anyone saying ‘bench Hurts’ is at a WIP caller level of intelligence, which is to say ‘a moron.’

  7. One big difference is all those franchises have a combined zero super bowls (imagine saying this in 2016 and us not being included lol)(0 prior to Elway)

They’ll love their guys to death because it’s their only chance of even sniffing a Lombardi. Their QB is god and can do no wrong.

I love hurts but I’m like 99% positive if he was on any other team they’d be talking about MVPs every year like Allen.

I couldn’t care less about a few bad games. Hurts is that dude and HAS been that dude for this franchise. 2 trips to the big show and got one

  8. He legitimately had terrible o lines and defense for all those years lol

It’s ok to say Jalen isn’t a top 5 QB and the eagles org is great and building a TEAM

  9. The Elway slander from the young fans is insane to everyone who actually watched him and can wrap their brains around accounting for the stats of his era.

Imagine the year LeBron took a trash Cavs team to the finals but doing it multiple times. In the NFL.

  10. This is the conversation because people keep saying “how would he look if the situation was wasn’t perfect”

The situation isn’t perfect and this is how it looks.

The situation hasn’t been perfect for those other QBs and I don’t recall their offenses looking this bad.

    Except Trevor. Trevor stinks.

  11. None of those QBs have a team built like Howie, Stoutland and Vic did with Hurts. Not even close.

  12. Quarterback discussion as a whole is just terrible. It’s an extremely nuanced topic and the discussion often lack any nuance at all. Hurts obviously isn’t a terrible quarterback, he’s good enough to win with for sure. He does have some limitations though and he doesn’t have the physical gifts some of these other guys have to get the team out of a jam.

  13. I get it, and I agree that Hurts gets a ridiculous amount of hate. But also his Stafford and Allen takes are pretty stupid.

  14. This isn’t just philly fans being philly fans.

Eagles fans have lived through multiple generations of offenses, and we’ve never had a collection of weapons like this. The closest comparison is TO, and we went to the bowl when we got him.

This isn’t just about this year either. It’s the same questionable execution showing up over and over. With this roster, that shouldn’t be happening. (oh but different play caller every year)

McNabb would’ve been winning Super Bowls with this offense. Randall would’ve too. Those guys were asked to carry teams with far less talent around them.

This starting roster is almost entirely Pro Bowl–level talent. At this payroll, this level of production is flat-out inexcusable. (doesn’t help almost the entire O-line is injured)

but all things considered, while i understand, hurts should still be the starter for a number of reasons. it is still quite ridiculous to bench him. this issue falls on management allowing this to happen. we gotta get to the line faster.

  15. The issues are there for everyone to see which places Hurts in different status than those other guys. He can’t f-ing see the field and go through progressions to second and third receivers. He can have MVP games or halves or periods when his first reads get open or the D rushers don’t contain and he can go off script. But otherwise he’s missing about a third of what you need to be elite and by this point it ain’t going to change. He just processes things so slowly.

  16. Who actually wants him benched?? This narrative is based on a few WIP hosts—-literally like 2 of them, maybe 1–and a handful of morons. The narrative that anyone “wants him benched“ is fiction.

He has not played well this year. He was awful last week. Everyone knows he is the starting QB.

  17. He had to play through this to get used to attacking the middle like he did in 2022. They learned the wrong lesson from LVII

  18. I don’t know what it is about Jalen, but some Eagles fans just seem like they will never like him as our QB.

Dude wins when it matters most and that is all that matters to me.

  19. This city has a hard on for a quarterback controversy, I swear.

Bench hurts as if this isn’t a Patullo (and sirianni) problem. And literally the entire league full of professionals and professional analysts are saying it’s Patullo.

    Jfc.

  20. He is right that the people who want Hurts benched are crazy, but some of the comparisons he makes are crazy.

Look, I like Hurts, but he isn’t Elway and Elway wasn’t Kerry Collins.

You can’t compare stats from one era to stats in another because rules change from year to year and the game evolves along with it. Stats for QBs are now up across the board compared to the 80s or early 90s because modern QBs benefit from decades of rule changes that have nerfed defense and favor passing offenses in particular.

This is a sport where now breathing on a QB wrong draws yellow flags. In Elway’s day QBs were just another player on the field and took hits as such and where WRs going across the middle could absolutely be legally murdered in ways that would also draw penalty flags today.

Stafford and Allen are also better than Hurts.

You don’t have to pretend Hurts is the best QB in the league to be an Eagles fan. He’s good enough to win a super bowl and that is enough. Homie needs to crank the glazing down a few notches.

  21. No one actually wants to bench him. If they do then they are not serious people and know nothing at all about the game.
