Tigers “Deep In Talks” With Kenley Jansen

  1. I’m so on board with this, having options of Vest, Jansen, and Finnegan in the back end of the bullpen is great

People can dissect it all they want but truth is Jansen wouldn’t have to be “the guy” here. They’d have three viable options to close every night, and Jansen may be 38 and “past his prime” but dude still put up a really good year last year.

  2. I would be good with this but our expectations for Ks going up in the bullpen have to go down. Jansen and Finnegan aren’t strikeouts arms. But, still, this is a quality addition.

Statcast is a sea of blue. We need to stop getting pitchers who were good 4 years ago.

  4. The Tigers have a history of signing great relievers at the backend of their careers. Fingers crossed this ends better than Joe Nathan and Francisco Rodríguez lol. I mean, he was pretty good last year, albeit with an inflated FIP and declining K%. It’ll be interesting to see.

  6. Think will have a Tommy Kahnle type season. Obviously different type of pitcher stuff wise. But can see him having some dominant stuff for a few weeks and some awful stuff for a few weeks and average in between. Like Kahnle seaon was.
