Lindy Ruff doesn’t play fast/rush hockey that’s why McLeod has been slower.
Buffalo is a special place unlike any other NHL team, they just have a way to suck the life out of players

It’s Lindy’s system. He doesn’t really want the guys flying up and down the ice. (Mostly. He will adjust based on personnel)
But before that, on planet Krypton, he was even faster.
Duh. Edmonton is higher on the globe, the air is thinner so of course he’s faster there.

I’d love to do a comparison over the drought for players before their Sabres tenure, during the Sabres tenure, and after the Sabres tenure.
Oddly enough, the knock on McLeod when he was in Edmonton is he could fly, and often the over skated his own scoring opportunities. I’m fine with him being the fastest guy on this team and burying the chances he gets. 😁
