I’ve had my reservations about Caleb as a top prospect, but his performances recently have been making me more confident in his ability to impact the game in the NBA.
He started off really only taking shots around the rim, and struggled with the jumpers that he did take. He still isn’t the best decision maker when it comes to his own scoring. He isn’t the strongest rn and when he picks up his dribble he tends to jump without any kind of plan.
However, the willingness to drive to the rim as much as he does is great to see. He’s pretty good at seeing the floor and passing. Caleb also has so much tenacity on the defensive end too.
His FT shooting has gotten better as the season has gone on, and could indicate he has the potential to shoot the 3 eventually.
He’s not my favourite prospect but if he’s Dawkins’ pick then he’s the guy for us. My biggest love for him is his work ethic. The kid’s drive to get better is literally insane.
I don’t think Caleb is our guy if only because I figure if we fall out of the top 3, Dawkins will take one of the top pgs to add a real offensive initiator to the young core.
I like Caleb tho. I’m always a sucker for freak athletes who play with an attitude
When we pick at 6, it’s gonna be a PG.
He’s playing children in this video lol
I have a vision that we fall out of the top 3, draft Wilson and Aday Mara in the 1st round, and just commit to being a fucking defensive torture chamber a la the Mavs, and we try our best to find a pick and roll pg in free agency, and just let Kyshawn and Wilson develop into our offensive engine. If we just put Caleb in a position where he has to become something I think he could be the type of guy that rises to the challenge. And fuck that defense would be god damn nuts, Wilson locking up the best perimeter defender, Kyshawn on the wing, and Sarr and Mara destroying anything coming into the paint.
Offense would suck for a while, but at least we’d have something to hang our hat on
I’m all in on Wilson.
Don’t really want Peterson. I don’t trust Kansas wings, by the way. Yeah, I know this rigid view has shortcomings. But who would I have missed out on in the last 25 years?
