The Steelers Got GOOD & BAD NEWS On NFL Sunday Before Monday Night Football vs. The Dolphins
[Music] The Pittsburgh Steelers got a mix of both good and bad news on NFL Sunday here in week 15 before the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Miami Dolphins tomorrow night on Monday Night Football. Today we’re going to be breaking down uh the latest news surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers here. And make sure you guys click that subscribe button if you haven’t already because we got a whole slate of Steelers content for you guys tomorrow starting with a pregame video that will go out during the day, probably before lunchtime for you guys to enjoy and uh and watch before we go live on the channel at 700 p.m. Eastern time tomorrow. Over an hour of pregame coverage uh before Monday Night Football, followed by live playbyplay and analysis of the game itself. And then we got our postgame reaction coverage for you guys. We’re going to be uh filming the video on the live show, but then pushing out the video after the watch party is over. So, if you guys want all of that uh Steelers Monday Night Football content tomorrow, make sure you guys click that subscribe button because tomorrow is a big day for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now, some bad news here for the Steelers today is that the Baltimore Ravens dominated the Cincinnati Bengals in Cincinnati today. It was a really cold one in the jungle at Payor Stadium and Joe Burrow and company did not have a good day at the office getting shut out versus the Baltimore Ravens today. Joe Burrow just 25 of 39 with two picks just over 220 yards passing. Lots of fourth downs not being able to be converted and a lot of really poor third down reps from Joe from Joe Burrow today. A couple interceptions and then the Ravens honestly didn’t play that great. Lamar Jackson got away with only eight completions and 12 pass attempts today. All right, Dererick Henry got to triple digits in rushing, but really I think the Bengals offense and how bad they were really set up the Ravens for success today um in the really cold weather in Cincinnati. So that what this means and why that matters is now Baltimore has put a little bit of pressure on the Pittsburgh Steelers to win tomorrow because of course if the Steelers win uh they can possibly lock up the division and they’re still on track to maybe even lock up the division before uh the Steelers and Ravens play again in week 18. And you know, you can just win one of your next two games against the Detroit Lions, uh, or the Cleveland Browns, and that would force the Baltimore Ravens to, uh, to do the same against the Patriots and the Packers, um, where, you know, they got the Patriots and Packers, that’s two very, very tough games coming up in the next two weeks for Baltimore. So, if the Steelers can have that oneame advantage heading into this twoame stretch, if they can beat either the Lions or the Browns, let alone winning both of those games, that would put a lot of pressure on Baltimore to at least split versus the Patriots and Packers or or Packers, I should say, uh to give them a shot come week 18. Uh but if Miami wins, things get uh a lot more hairy here for the Pittsburgh Steelers where um you know, the chances that the Steelers uh will have the division locked up by week 18. If uh you know, the Steelers lose a game this week and it’s tied at the top of the AFC North with just three games left to go. The chances that the Steelers are going to win both of their next two games against Detroit and Cleveland and uh the Baltimore Ravens will lose their next two games against the Patriots and Packers. Although that’s possible, it doesn’t seem very likely and that would be the only scenario in which the Pittsburgh Steelers would have the division locked up before their season finale against the Ravens at Acers Stadium. So, tomorrow becomes a really, really important game for the Pittsburgh Steelers. So, let’s talk about the latest injury updates before we get into tomorrow. We got word today that uh Big Darnell is going to be good to go. He’s been in concussion protocol all week. He was able to clear that and he does not have an injury designation tomorrow. The reason why that’s a big deal is because the Steelers will be able to benefit from his blocking in the run game. And then also, I don’t think there’s a single Miami Dolphin linebacker or defensive back that wants to tackle Mount Washington in space. So, big time uh injury update there. We’re getting Darnell Washington back this week. And then, uh kind of the biggest uh additions here to the injury report uh that are worth talking about. Derrick Harmon is officially questionable. And then TJ Watt, Andrew Pete, and James Pierre are all out for this ball game. Of course, with Pete out and Brick Jones out, that means that Dylan Cook will get the start at left tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers. When it comes to the latest surrounding Derrick Harmon and his knee injury, he was able to practice at Acer Stadium yesterday. And according to Brook Prior from ESPN, it appears Derrick Harmon is on track to return after missing the last two games. Um, and then of of course a bunch of defensive linemen missed a practice this week. I believe it was on uh Friday. Those all those guys did return to practice and Cam Hayward, Patrick Queen, Kyle Duggar, all those guys, everybody that we that wasn’t mentioned in that previous graphic is good to go for tomorrow night. So, um, obviously you’re going to miss Watt, you’re going to miss Pierre, you’re going to miss Andrew Pete as your left tackle. Uh, but it sounds like Derrick Carman is going to be able to go tomorrow night and that is huge for the Steelers run defense. This run defense gives up about a hundred less rush yards a game when Derrick Harmon plays. And of course, you’re going up against one of the hottest rushing offenses in the league with uh Devon Han and the Miami Dolphins uh tomorrow night. So, that would be a huge addition if you’re able to get Derk Harmon back. Now, coming up here on Steelers Talk, uh we’re going to talk a little bit here about TJ Watt and we got a report today on when the Steelers are expecting him back and it might be sooner than you think. Going to talk about that about that here in just a second. But first, let me know who you got for Monday Night Football. Do you think the Pittsburgh Steelers take the win here um and improve to 8-6 on the season? Type PIT or do you think the Miami Dolphins get the win on Monday Night Football? Type MIA down there in the comments. For today’s pin question in just a second here, I’m going to tell tell you about our sponsor today at Prize Picks. And while I tell you about Prize Picks, let me know who you think wins Monday Night Football tomorrow night between the Steelers and Dolphins. With that, have word from our sponsor today at Prize Pickics. And it is officially the holiday season, guys. And in my opinion, this is the best time of the year for watching sports. Bull games, basketball matchups, playoff pushes. It’s all happening all at once. And while all that action is going on, there’s just one place where it feels so good to be right, and that is Prize Picks. Prize Pix is super simple to play. Just pick more than or less than at least two player stat projections, and if you get your picks right, you could cash in. My favorite feature about prize picks is that how you play is up to you. If you want a little bit more flexibility, you can choose the flex play where you can get paid even if one of your picks misses. And if you’re feeling particularly strong about a particular lineup and you want a bigger payout for getting it right, you can go for the power play. No matter how you play though, prize picks is a great way to put your takes to the test and make some money. That is if you know ball. Ponzi and I have this as our uh prize picks lineup tomorrow night. I’m going to take the more on Devon Chan rushing yards, the more on rushing yards for Jaylen Warren, and the less on passing yards for Tua Tong of Aloa. You guys can download the Prize Pix app today and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup with the Prize Picks app today. That’s code CLNS. Get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Price picks. It’s good to be right now. Tom Pelisero uh reported earlier today on the insiders that TJ Watt and the Steelers are quote unquote hopeful that the star edge rusher can return to the team and play next week in week 16 on the road in Detroit versus the Detroit Lions. This is what Pelisero had to say earlier today. Says the Steelers are hopeful that Watt could potentially miss only one game. He could be back next Sunday against the Lions. Now, from what I’ve heard and what I kind of understand about this injury, you know, the partial collapsed lung and then the procedure that he had to go under um to fix the issue, you know, apparently it completely wipes you out physically. Like it completely it feels like he got hit by a truck apparently. So, for him to come back from that less than two weeks from the procedure would be pretty remarkable. Now, I’m not going to put anything past TJ Watt here. you know, this might just be the Pittsburgh Steelers doing what they do, creating um, you know, confusion for the Detroit Lions, and they probably want the Lions to think that Watt’s going to play. Uh, but it wouldn’t completely shock me if TJ can get himself into playing shape by next Sunday. You know, he’s he’s been extremely tough. He played through that really bad ankle sprain last year at the end of the year. He wasn’t the same player, but he did play through it. And if he’s able to play next Sunday, I think he probably will, knowing the kind of uh warrior that TJ Watt is. But really the big question for me is not even when we get TJ Watt back, it’s when we get him back. How does he look? You know, is he the same player? Because I already think he’s a little bit of a reduced version of his normal self that he was, you know, uh, in his in his mid to late 20s. You know, he’s a different player now. He’s a very good player right now, but I wouldn’t say he’s necessarily a truly dominant elite player anymore. Okay? He still gets treated like an elite player where he gets a lot of double teams and a lot of chips and he’s still impactful getting those double teams and chips. So, he’s still a very very good player. I don’t want to you know you know uh you know uh you know make any make any bones about it. He’s a great player but like if he’s going to be you know affected by this where you know he’s not going to have the same stamina or if he’s going to uh get injured more easily because of this I would I wouldn’t rush him back. You know the Steelers have a very good rotation of edge rushers here. You’re going to have your two start starters, Alexis, Nick Herbig, tomorrow night. We’ll get our first look at those guys as a starting tandem. But also, Jack Sawyer has done some good things as a rotational guy when he’s been asked to be that third guy in the rotation this year. So, listen, man, if Watt needs to take another week next week against Detroit to get fully back, I would do that. All right. I wouldn’t want to risk anything by by rushing him back too early. I know he’s going to want to play next week, but you know, you got to make the smart decision in terms of uh protecting him, protecting his long-term and short-term health and hopefully um he can get back to that 100% uh status next week when we play the Lions because that’s going to be a big game if the Steelers uh can pull out a victory. But now the final thing that we’ll talk about here today is that there is new reporting uh that does suggest that Joe Burrow, the Bengals quarterback, despite the team struggles, despite the fact that this will be the fourth year uh in six years where the Bengals will miss the playoffs with Joe Burrow as their week one starting quarterback, uh it does not seem likely according to Diana Rousini and others uh that Burrow is going to request a trade out of Cincinnati this off season. and his comments this week that we talked about earlier in the week were more just born out of uh some frustration and wanting to see his team, the Cincinnati Bengals, play better and win more football games. And now I will say I will not rule out a trade request, especially if they keep Zack Taylor, if they’re if they do some things this offseason that Burrow is not particularly fond of, I could see him um you know going to ownership and in the front office and saying trade me away. I demand a trade out of here otherwise I will retire from football. That’s not completely out of the question, but I do think he really likes the Bengals organization. I think he would like to stay um in Ohio and with the Bengals organization, but I think probably he’s going to want to see a change in leadership. And I think that’s probably what’s more likely here. If the Bengals have a choice between Zack Taylor and Joe Burrow, they’re going to choose Joe Burrow every day of the week. And for good reason. All right, Zack Taylor is a replaceable head coach. All right. And you know, it’s it’s he’s a big reason why this team has severely severely underperformed despite having a legitimately elite quarterback and Joe Burrow on their team uh for the better part of a decade now at this point. So, I’m guessing Cincinnati, especially if they keep losing down the stretch here with Burrow. Um I’m guessing they’re going to fire Zack Taylor uh to accommodate uh Burrow’s preferences and they’re going to allow Burrow to be very involved in the head coaching search to try and accommodate him. And I think that if it’s up to Burrow, it’s going to be Joe Brady, the Bills offensive coordinator and Burrow and Chase’s OC with the LSU Tigers when they won their national championship in Baton Rouge um all those years back. You know, Joe Brady has really turned into a really good NFL coordinator with Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. That offense is starting to catch fire right now despite the despite the lack of presence of a legit number one receiving threat in that offense. So Brady’s done a really good job schematically there in Buffalo and uh I think you know certainly Burrow and Jamar Chase would sign off on that and if those two guys are happy the rest of the locker room is happy. Um so I would say right now I think Joe Brady might be the favorite to be this the the Bills or the Bengals head coach in 2026. I just if they fire Zack Taylor I just feel like he is far and away you know the leading candidate. And uh honestly, I’m not sure if the chances of them keeping Zack Taylor are all that great right now either. So definitely keep your eye on Joe Brady uh potentially being a candidate for the head coaching job in Cincinnati this off season. So what say you guys? Let me know down there in the comments section. What is the percent chance that Joe Burrow is a Bengal in 2026? Type zero. If you think, “Oh, he’s not going to be a Bengal. He’s for sure getting traded to 100% meaning he’s definitely not going anywhere. He’s going to be a Bengal.” For me, I’m probably sitting at the 95% mark right here. I think that, you know, more than likely he will be a Cincinnati Bengal next year. I think that the Bengals will certainly accommodate him. If they if if he wants Zack Taylor gone, he’s gone. All right. Whoever he wants to bring in at head coach, he’s going to have a say in who they bring in. I think they’re going to do that to ensure that he has another season in Cincinnati. So, because of that, I say about 95% chance Joe Burrow returns to Cincinnati next year. Now, tomorrow guys, we will have our live watch party for Monday Night Football between Steelers and Dolphins. Who ya got? Type ‘PIT’ for the Pittsburgh Steelers or ‘MIA’ for the Miami Dolphins.
Miami bout to shit stinp us
PIT of course!! HERE WE GO!!!
PIT

If we don't need TJ Watt to play to make the playoffs, DON'T PLAY HIM. Also, a reduced-health TJ probably isn't our best option. As for Burrow, he needs to try on the black and gold and spend some time in the mirror with it on.
PIT, of course.
Pit
Good Evening Everyone. Happy Sunday! I got PIT for WIN!!!!
Pit

GTFOH with this USC trash 🗑. Who thinks this crap up. Get a life. USC qb sucks.
Heart says Steelers. Stats say Miami wins with Watt out.
Pretty much a lock that MIA wins this game. We never do anything that easy way.

MIA .
Three letters P I and T
I'm glad mount Washington is back tomorrow night
PIT
Detroit and Penei Sewell aren't worried about TJ Watt.
And once again, TJ gets paid a lot of money and he's out when they need him!
From someone who did have a collapsed lung I was tired all the time i was getting tired walking up the stairs it drains your stamina by a lot and it hurts like hell
MT Washington back don’t mean shit if you don’t use him! You don’t use Friermuth as much as you should either. Jonnu Smith has been useless so far.
MIA wins, 1-11 without TJ. Good luck with that Steeler Nation! We suck without TJ. Denver 12-2. We passed on Bo Nix. Go Tomlin. Never let Tomlin be a part of the draft process. Over Tomlin.
