NHL Highlights | Flyers vs. Hurricanes – December 14, 2025

here as the Canes will start off with a line of Jenkowski, Robinson, and Hall and the opening faceoff will be picked up by Alexander Nishian. Stall waved out of the play the faceoff circle here. Ziggress and Martinook and Martinoke will win it. It’ll come back and that shot by Walker right on Bodar makes the blocker save. There’s Flyers able to knock that out and then back. I thought you had something for me there. Oh, it’s it’s long story, but you can see the Flyers flying the zone already. The Canades were ready for it. A chance for Kerier. Au will come up with a steal. Fetchnikov with a shot that was bothered just enough by Sanheim. Couldn’t really lean into it, but Gostas Bear can and that shot will be deflected over the glass into the netting. Hang on. It looks like Lar makes that save with the mask. Yeah, right off the cranium. That’s using your head if you’re the Philadelphia Neter. Now a spinning shot put on by Eers. He’ll catch it and hang on. Really good to see. But the second one late in the second was not very good. No. Now Carolina won’t get into the zone. Here’s a chance shot right on. Jarvis puts it through Var and AO was there for the rebound. Couldn’t corral it. This power play for Carolina and Philadelphia will be able to clear it out and Walker will get to it. One shot on goal as the Canes are now 0 for one with a man advantage here. Couple of good looks though. Nice play made there by Healers to deny the forward movement of Philadelphia and the Canes will get to it. Stankle plays it up the board for Hall with a quick shot. Lar with the answer with the glove. The more dimension after the game. Now Stall will get some help from Ker and win the offensive zone draw. Walker who’ll get it to Ker. He scores. A quick little snapshot and William Kerier gets Carolina off to the hot start. It’s one- nothing Hurricanes. Baby, what a snappy Sunday release. You had both Martin and Ker diving it off the face off on a 50/50 puck. And Ker is the one that actually guarantees the faceoff win. Martin goes right to the high slot to create a net front. You get a bounce on Walker’s shot and utilizing that Martin screen. Ker just fires. How about Martin getting out of the way at the tip it will get this one back to the point. Now Gates will get a shot. Busy with the glove and he’ll hang on. Take a look at this save and focus on Busy’s glove position. Fighting through the screen of Slav for Eers. They’ll go back and forth. Good puck movement here from Carolina trying to get him to go right to left. Now Blake finds Stanovven. Back for Jackson Blake. Blake up for Nisha. He ends it. They score on the power play. Taylor Hall out in front. A power play goal and the Canes have a two nothing lead. Special special teams first period. Both ends of it here in the first period for Carolina. Look at Nesian establish the middle of the ice. Head up Taylor Hall. What a nifty tip to extend the lead to two to nothing. Has Taylor Hall been any good as a hurricane or what? Gorgeous tip. Slavven reaches for it back for Dale. Opportunity connecting. He’ll get it here for Zigg. Delayed penalty against Carolina. And now Ziggress, he is looking for room. He’ll get a Dale. Shot deflected. They’ll score with the delayed penalty coming up. Disdale got it through. To Martin and during the delayed sequence. Yeah, it goes off a carrier. So a friendly fire goal during the delay. Philadelphia had a good chance on the delayed sequence before their previous power play, too. No chance for Busy there. And in this incredible run for Go back. You told the great story about where was the bus in Philadelphia. Now a chance out in front. Busy makes a save and then a block. Jacob Slavven keeps it out and Martin Hook gets to the loose change. What a sequence for Carolina defensively. Welcome back Jacob Slavven. What a sequence. The Flyers could have tied the game at two in a quick second. Huge attacking save from Busy on the first one. And then it’s the leg of Jacob Slavven back in the lineup doing vintage Jacob Slavven things. Outstanding for both Busy and Slavven. Keandre Miller has not returned injured in the first period. So you’re down to five defenseman as Carolina wins the draw to start this second period. Directed off target. See plays it back here for Dale. He’s got the Flyers rolling this game. Now Philadelphia coming in. Knee tries to short side. Busy makes a save. Oh dear Busy. Another glove save to keep it moving in the Can was underrated because it was in stride. You don’t really know what’s coming. You know he boots out the rebound a little bit and that’s cuz and you use connectnne as a screen and then he’s moving one way and has to make sure he doesn’t get lazy with his glove. See if he gets lazy that glove tries to thread the needle for Brink who has been dangerous against Carolina. Two goals in the two games. Now here’s a chance for Carolina Hall. Back to Blake and Blar with an outstanding save. It might even be 80. This is after Janowski made the great pass up the ice and Blar was very patient. Really nothing for Jackson Blake. Super pass from Janowski. Take one more look. Ziggress will get to the rebound. Trevor Ziggress. He’ll have it knocked away by Miller. And here comes DeAndre Miller on a break in on Miller forehand and Blar makes the save. Let the game due to injury in the first period. Comes back. I mean, it’s the stick and then the speed. And BLAR plays this perfectly from the standpoint. You could see that Dan Bladar was committed to Keandre Miller making his move first. Going to work here for the third time. Philadelphia will work this one across and Ziggress can’t get the shot through Busy. Tippet tries to get one through. Chatfield with a piece. Busy denying Zris again. Time saves on Ziggress. This is what I’m talking about. Challenging. And then watch the second one. The way he challenges with his left leg. Few dangerous moments here and we start the third period. Carolina and this will be worked out for Spetchnikov. Now he’s got his arm up. So as soon as they start to go the other way, he ain’t going to wait. Here’s a chance now for D’vorak in and Busy makes the save. To the bench goes Lar. Extra attacker out for Philadelphia. Empty net. Seagris back for D’vorak. Miller will lean on him. AO tries to get to it. Noah Kates stepped into by Walker along the boards. The Borak will move it back for Zegris. Trevor Ziggress. His centering attempt as across the ring. Tries out in front. Busy makes the save. Rebounds there. Zris scores as Busy was on the right post and Philly gets it across to Zegris. Busy still had a chance to get to it, but Trevor Ziggress has tied this at two. They go with the early hook to pull the goalender. The Flyers just kept this alive and and and look at Ziggress almost covertly in a six-on- five situation took advantage of the fact that I don’t think anybody detected where he was and Kknney went to him for a goal last night in the first period and Kknney goes to him again to tie the hockey game. No chance for Busy and give Trevor Ziggris I I think his his IQ a lot of credit. A minute 52 left here and we are going to be for a third time in three meetings headed to bonus hockey between the Canes and the Flyers. It’ll be stall starting out with the two defenseman Miller and Walker. And both Miller and Walker have had chances in overtime. Taking time off the clock. 7 seconds left now. D’vorak has it. Dorak sending it back. Sanheim with one second. Throw it to the corner and Philadelphia will take this to the shootout. Second night in a row. Blar was three for three in his only win. Here comes Jarvis moving in and Blar gets the glove hand to it to knock it away. Approach from the opposite side and I think he the words of Lou Brown. I think he’s due. Here comes Andre Svetchnikov lifting in going to the back hand scores. He roofs the beauty. Solid shot right here. He sold it. He’ll go wide on Busy coming in trying to fake the shot. And Busy, what a save. Oh dear Busy. How did he extend to keep that one out on De’moric. He’s committed, but in desperation, even with all that size, he goes right to the post with both legs and makes the save with his right toe. Here a chance to win it again for Jackson Blake. Blake coming in on Blar. Waits for a backhand and then he runs into LAR. He’ll come wide down on the right wing boards coming in coming up front and Busy denies it and another win for Brandon Busy. His ninth in a row. He goes to 11 and0. He’s been perfect.

Taylor Hall and William Carrier each scored while Brandon Bussi made 24 saves to pick up his 11th win of the season as the Carolina Hurricanes went on to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in the shootout.

  1. I'm not gonna lie, I kind of latched onto the Canes as a secondary team after hearing the goalies name and just thought it was funny. But honestly he's such a treat to watch. Can see him going far.

  2. What a Cinderella story: 27 yo, undrafted, no games in the NHL, picked up on waivers, comes in and goes 11-1 in his first 12 NHL games. Back to back shootout shutouts. Wooooooo!!!

  3. Zegs has truly rebounded. If only the Flyers can get Michkov firing on all cylinders again. I hope they dont have to trade him to get him going again. Zegs and Mich will be a great one two punch.
